I felt very special dining here for my birthday. We were brought by the host (Cynthia I believe) to our table to see a printed birthday card with my name on it and a bunch of confetti scattered on the table. A nice touch, especially since I had only made my reservation just 20 minutes earlier!! Not to mention a water view table that was an extra nice surprise in the already booked restaurant. Thank you! Our server Sasaye, was very attentive and friendly. We loved our meals, I had the seafood risotto in red sauce. It was chocked full of fresh prawns, lobster claws and scallops. My gal had chicken piccata with artichokes and capers super lemon butter creamy. Now the dessert tray had circled a few times so I knew to save room but oh wow such a selection. The pastry chef has made some really special desserts, I had the Tommy Bahama coconut pineapple cake and she had the chocolate mouse cup both winners!! Oh the birthday song a young girl sang brought a tear to my eyes. So sweet and a nice eve. With 4 drinks and two meals and 2 desserts we spent $175 plus $30 tip. read more

Been going to the Blue Bistro over the summer for several years. Was disappointed in the quality of the food and therefore being overpriced. The service is great... our waitress Topal was awesome and made the evening enjoyable in-spite of the food. My wife did enjoy the Bistro Salad.. The next evening my wife wanted to go back for the salad... uggg.. I called to make reservations, gave my info and said the staff is busy they will call me back in 5 minutes to confirm.. no call back.. I took it as a sign and went elsewhere. Regarding the owner, she spends time with the locals... makes sense.. but it would go a long way to check in on those of us that occasionally go there. So during the summer in the Lakes Region getting a table is like a contact sport. After calling a few places we ended up at Blue Bistro. While some of the entrees were higher priced most were priced reasonably. The focaccia bread was amazing. Especially with Parmesan and olive oil. Our drinks were excellent as well. I got the seafood risotto. After being surprised with the red sauce I was very pleased with my meal. Everyone in my party was very happy with their meals. Everyone remarked at the excellent service from our server Navardo. As the servers were excellent. I was glad to save room for the dessert which should not be missed. I was surprised that the restaurant wasn't too busy. The place is a total hidden gem. We'll be back! read more

That's weird! The 1 star stayed but My review was taken down!!! Huh! Must be Cynthia M didn't like what I had to say about the TERRIBLE FOOD my daughter and I were served! I'll start with the good: my clam chowder was delicious, the mock tail I had was tasty and our waiter was delightful. Now for the bad: the lobster ravioli tasted like it had freezer burn. My daughter and I both tried one bite and we could tell it wasn't good so we stopped eating. My "pan seared" scallops were rubbery (overcooked) and yet pinkish in the middle. And their poor excuse for pan searing was to put breadcrumbs on the scallops to make them look seared. All it did was give me soggy breadcrumbs! Again I only took one bite as did my daughter and no more. I refuse to eat bad/mediocre food just for the sake of eating it. Ohhhhh but it gets better! The owner Cynthia M. Wanted to talk to me about why I didn't like her restaurants food! She told me the scallops were their most popular dish! Well Cynthia maybe you should pour yourself out of the bar (I saw you in there when we walked in, not at all professional either) and do some checking on the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen. It may have been good once upon a time but it's lacking in many aspects! Your manners being one of them. Visited the Saturday of Labor Day weekend for breakfast. Service and food was outstanding. I ordered the Greek omelette and it was delicious. We went back for breakfast on Sunday. The experience was not the same. I understand it was a holiday weekend and very busy. We waited an hour for our food. I ordered the Greek omelette again, because I enjoyed it so much the day before. I did ask for extra feta. There was 2 pieces of spinach and a few chopped tomatoes, forget about the extra feta. When I called the server over, she did nothing to fix the problem. Like I mentioned, it was very busy and I understood about the wait for the food, but the quality was not as good. Too make matters worse, there were only 3 tables left eating and we had to weight another 1/2 hour for the bill. There was no excuse for that. Needless to say, we decided to go somewhere else for dinner and didn't eat breakfast there on Monday. read more

Everything about our experience was wonderful. We had a table overlooking the lake. Our waiter Gareth was attentive but not intrusive and had a great sense of humor. Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly. The meal had a great flow to it. Just the right amount of time between courses. Oh and there was live entertainment a very nice singer/ pianist. Overall a decent experience, especially for the location. We found ourselves using the word "OK" quite a lot to describe various things, hence the 3 stars. The prices are a bit high for the quality of food offered. We went on a Friday night, and there was a singer, making the space very, very loud. Possibly it has a different feel on other nights, but this felt a bit like a wedding- lots of tables loudly singing, people up and dancing. The acoustics aren't made for this, so it was a bit of a cacophony... but it did seem like most people were enjoying it, and it's probably the right thing for this crowd. Mostly it was older couples and families with kids aged 5-12 or so, so we were probably not the target demographic here. About the food and drink: My husband started with a margarita and I had a $9 glass of prosecco. Margarita was ok--really sweet, and tasted like it was probably made from a mix, but not bad and pretty large. They brought bread and olive oil to the table, and put a big scoop of Parmesan cheese in the oil (see photo). I hadn't seen this done before, and it wasn't my favorite flavor combination for bread dipping. The parmesan truffle fries were just ok. They tasted like standard diner fries with a little extra flavor. The twin lobster tails were very good, cooked nicely. I could have done without the breading on them, but it was light enough. It came with asparagus which was just slightly undercooked. It was $40. My husband also described his seafood risotto as "ok". I tried a bite and had to agree. The seafood was pretty nice, but the flavors didn't do anything magical when they came together. It was nice that we were provided with a 15% off coupon for staying in the attached hotel, and since there aren't a lot of options in the area we will likely try breakfast here. However, I will look for a different dining location for our next dinner (in part since I saw that the same singer is scheduled to be back). read more

Our party of 12 came on a Sunday afternoon and got seated immediately. There's nothing spectacular about this restaurant in terms of decor and ambience - just imagine a few white walls and a bar in the room with tables and chairs. We were (barely) greeted by our server and ordered a round of bloody mary's. The bloody mary's were a-ok. The reason for my 3 star review is the amount of time it took for our food to come out. Although it was a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was not busy and had enough servers to cover the occupied tables. Our food came out 1 hour later and our server rarely came to check up on us. The upside: our breakfast was delicious. I ordered the eggs benedict (which I do not recommend as my egg was way too overcooked) and the Carribean French Toast which I highly recommend. All in all, the food was good just be prepared for long wait times and not-so-enthusiastic servers. read more

Went here with a few friends recently ; we all kind of got some food and shared it ( love that this menu allows you to try many things with friends ) The roma meatballs were amazing ( very good ) and a good sized portion we all got the lobster bisque was not my favorite and needed to be reheated as it was served rather cold The roasted beet salad is a MUST try as it is delish :-) one of my favorite things on this menu The yellow fin tuna was also very tasty all in all this was a very good meal with a beautiful view the atmosphere is rather quiet and the waitress was very friendly read more

I would not recommend at all. While some of the dishes were tasty, the price for the quality was not on par with other restaurants in the area. Worst of all, the wait staff and staff in general were and continue to be very dismissive and dishonest in their dealings with myself and my family while we were dining and thereafter attempting to rectify significant overcharges. Rode up to Laconia for Bike week and stayed at the Naswa. The Blue Bistro was a restaurant in the Hotel. We weren't going to eat there until we saw a shrimp & crab stuffed Haddock with a parmesan risotto on the menu, while getting a quick drink at the bar after a long ride up from NYC. I have to say it was a surprise at just how amazing and fresh it all was. So glad we decided to have dinner there on the last night of our trip. We will definitely be back. read more

Went here on vacation the first morning we had one waitress that was very nice and polite asking if we needed anything and had great communication skills. The second and third time our waitress was super disrespectful and when ordering she didn't even acknowledge our presence and never once said yes to what we ordered she just stomped off all pissy like which was super unprofessional. I have been to the Blue Bistro (not the beach bar) 3 times this month and has been excellent every time. Service and food is one of the best in NH. Prices are very reasonable. I went to this place for dinner with the family and left right out to get burgers. The place looks nice inside. The food was overpriced and the portions were extremely small. I ordered from the normal menu not from the ( small plate one) as suggested by the waiter. Needless to say, We all left the restaurant hungry. This is the restaurant that is part of the Naswa resort. They serve breakfast and dinner and if you stay at the resort you recieve coupons for use in the restaurant. The food is made from scratch and I give four stars for effort, unfortunately I can only give three stars for execution. Although the food was not pre-fabed it was also not wow. For example the corned beef hash in the morning was made with fresh cut potatos and shredded corn beef but was dry and somewhat flavorless. The chocolate chip pancakes were also dry and the maple syrup was pedestrian. The service from the resort wait staff was excellent. read more

We love the Naswa but did not have a good experience at Blue Bistro. We went for breakfast because we were staying at the hotel. The food was fine, but not spectacular. There was a baby crying the whole time we were there, loudly, and nobody from the staff addressed it even though everyone was uncomfortable. The staff was terrible. We had to track down our waiter every time we wanted anything from ordering, to water, to drink refills, to the bill. It was really pretty terrible. And then, they gave my mother grey goose and charged her for that without asking if she wanted top shelf in her bloody mary. Overall, it was a pretty terrible experience and although we will be back to the Naswa, I don't see Blue Bistro in our future. read more
