Okay, average lunch spot. Food was okay, my favorite was the sweet potato fries. Service was fine, limited menu, could do better.

Post accurate hours online and signs. Went to dinner based on online and road sign information. It's not open for dinner during the week.

The food was good-UNTIL.... Our server was pleasant. I ordered the grouper sandwich which was a large portion. I cut the sandwich in half to take the other half home. As I was doing this I noticed a very long ( at least 6 inch) strand of dark hair came out from the middle of my sandwich. I placed it on a napkin and called for the server. To her credit, she looked horrified when I showed her. I was disappointed (obviously) no manager came over. I was given another sandwich to go. I'm not sure that is a satisfactory solution. Possibly comped on the bill? Aren't hair nets required in the kitchen? I don't know. I'm sure this could happen anywhere. ALWAYS inspect your food before biting in!!! I took my family here while we were on vacation because we wanted to grab a nice breakfast by the beach. This restaurant did not disappoint! My aunt and brother were both very impressed with the location, service, and quality of the food. When we arrived, we were seated and serviced very promptly. We arrived on a weekend morning and did not have to wait for an outdoor table. I ordered their signature Fisherman's Benedict. Overall, I thought it was a solid dish, although the key lime flavor in the hollandaise sauce was so subtle that I would have missed it if I weren't looking out for it. All the components of my dish tasted fresh, but I didn't think it had anything special enough to set it apart from other Eggs Benedicts I've had which is why I'm only giving this place 4 stars. All in all, I would highly recommend this place and come back for a solid breakfast by the beach. read more

Went back for lunch and breakfast for the first time since the closure, and unfortunately both times the food was just bland. Before, the food was fantastic with lots of flavor, but now everything is just basic ingredients with no inspiration. The service is great with friendly energy, and the ambiance is also good, feeling clean and colorful with a beautiful mural. Lovely outdoor breakfast and lunch spot nestled in the rear of a cluster of cute shops and buidlings surrounded by large trees, connected by a boardwalk and opening into a courtyard with a fountain. Service was great and pretty quick considering every table on the patio was occupied. We were there for breakfast and the menu had enough choices that everyone in our group of 8 found something they liked. The kitchen even rustled up an off-menu grilled cheese sandwich for one of us. Grits is a side choice on almost every breakfast dish. Don't fear the grits. I'm a Southern girl and I know grits. These were done right! The only thing reported as not being good was the Bloody Mary, but to that I say, they should have ordered the mimosa. You can't go wrong with orange juice in Florida! read more

I've always loved the food at Blue Giraffe and I was sad when Ian took their restaurant. It's taken a while to reopen but finally a few ago it happened. The food is still as delicious before and the team there is top notch. The new restaurant has very cool epoxy blue floors and lots of Giraffes. The outdoor deck has new, pretty yellow umbrellas. Right now they're just serving breakfast and lunch but it's just so great to have my favorite back. The owner said sooner & the bar will be open so! read more

Stopped in for appetizers. Was greeted by a friendly gentleman who said we could sit anywhere. Waiter came over and never introduced himself. I asked for a Mai Tai and was informed that they did not carry alcohol at this time. We ordered Nachos and Potato Skins. Let me just say that i found the tacos of my dreams! I ordered the Blue Giraffe Fish Tacos and it way THE BOMB! The mahi-mahi was juuust a touch dry but the mango salsa, tropical slaw & mild spicy sauce made up for it. Rice & black beans side were appropriately seasoned but nothing spectacular. One of my kiddos ordered the kids burger with chips and i ate all the chips. I thought they would be kettle chips from a bag... but i was wrong. They were in-house made and they were delicious! The only issue I had was that they brought out some food before the rest and then there was a long wait before the rest came out. That's kind of a pet peeve of mine. My daughter ordered the "room service". They brought out her eggs and potatoes, but not her sausage and toast until almost 10 minutes later! The toast was too burnt to eat. My boyfriend had fish tacos which he said were good. We had the potato skins which were just ok. Not a lot of flavor to be found in anything. Portion sizes are huge and the waitress said the "owners are from Texas, so everything is huge here!" I ordered the Chicken & Biscuits which happened to be a Blue Giraffe Signature Dish. The warm flaky biscuits were topped with fried chicken, eggs & gravy. The chicken was so moist but crunchy on the outside, it was the best part of the meal. Coming from the Midwest where gravy & grits were a staple in my house, I was pleased with the Blue Giraffe's! It's hard to find good gravy & grits around here. After looking over the Lunch/Dinner Menu I know I'll definitely be back to try out their other great items! We met some family here for breakfast. I think this was our first time here in all the years we've come to Sanibel. To be honest mine wasn't that great they didn't cook my eggs long enough so the whites were still a bit runny which kind of grossed me out that I've didn't make a big deal out of it. But my meal I would have only given up three but everybody else like there's okay. We all agreed that the Lighthouse Cafe was by far better. But I'd say this place has is okay for breakfast if you're not getting eggs. read more

This Place is delicious and gives you great bang for your buck. Came here on a relatively hard day so we were unable to enjoy the patio. On arrival inside orders are taken quickly, and everything on the menu looked fantastic. Our group collectively tried the surf and turf burger, the portobello burger, and quesadillas. I don't even know why I've always had my doubts on Blue Giraffe and never gave it a chance. But recently, I was grossed out and traumatized by a so-called "Seafood Benedict" elsewhere and I didn't want to step foot there for breakfast- again. However, right after a second swim in the Gulf, we came to Blue Giraffe on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. I started with a fabulous Mimosa and asked our server Jamil, (apologies for misspellings) if the crab was real or imitation and assured me it was in fact the real thing. Beautiful. I'm in. The 'Crab Trap Omelette', turned out to be excellent with luscious chunks of lump crab that was both sweet and savory. Overall, service was refreshingly pleasant and prompt throughout our breakfast, quality of food was great and Jamil was on it! I founds a hidden gem! Yelp's hours were off by a mile, so we skipped it one day. But then realized that was a mistake. I looked at the Blue Giraffe 2's hours and that said they didn't open until 11:00. Then realizing my mistake, Yelp said they opened at 8:00. When we got there, the posted hours say 7:00. And you can't really see the restaurant from the road. When we got there, there was no line and plenty of open tables, which, from our experience on the island, is rare. I feel like the confusion with the hours as well as being placed out of the street's view put the diner at an advantage. Shhhh...don't tell everyone. :) The service couldn't have been any better, the food was really good and the place was super clean. Outdoor dining was comfortable in the Florida heat. Located in an upscale shopping area, it boasts a great patio with lots of Outdoor seating, plus an indoor restaurant with a full bar. We opted for 3 seafood menu choices: fish tacos, fish and chips, and the fried grouper sandwich. All were hot and delicious. We called ahead to make a reservation for outdoor dining but were informed they only take reservations for inside dining. We arrived at 6:15pm and were told we'd have a 45 minute wait and were pleasantly surprised to be seated within 25 minutes. We had the chips and guacamole which were excellent, the New England clam chowder which was good but not as creamy as my son prefers, and the pulled pork sliders with cheddar cheese and cole slaw on Hawaiian rolls.
