This place definitely has that classic mom and pop shop diner experience. Friendly staff and relatively quick food service. The food was good enough to come back and sample something new. I had the biscuits and gravy. Having lived in Georgia for a few years I was missing that southern treat lol. The plate is well portioned though the gravy is a bit bland. Just fyi do not eat at this establishment on fish night. They will charge 10.00 plus bucks but are very reluctant to keep coming back to offer you more fish ..... we had to keep asking the blonde waitress for more fish and water . I figure if your going to offer a Friday night special like this and charge this price aleast be honest to your costumers and feed them don't RIP them off people catch on .. lot more other places that serve fish and will honor their business. I'm sorry to say that the food here is pretty meh. We've tried breakfast there several times, and each time we were disappointed. The baked goods, which are usually good in family-owned places around Prescott, were really bland and lacked flavor. My son said the icing on the cinnamon rolls tasted like toothpaste --- now granted he is only 12, but my husband agreed that it didn't taste quite right. I've had the biscuits and gravy, and the biscuits were definitely flavorless and the gravy was watery. The hash browns were definitely frozen patties chopped up to look like "hash browns" (a la McDonalds). Try the Backburner in Prescott Valley - much better! read more

On our way home from Out of Africa decided to try something before heading home. Yelp is my go to, this popped up so we said let give it a go. It's a small place, country feel... Was a full house. It's Friday and they had all you can eat fish fry. I had the cod, hubs had catfish the boy cheeseburger and fries. With our fish meals we had a choice of soup or salad. I opted for salad, just a regular iceburg lettuce salad, hubs had clam chowder he said was very good. We also had zucchini, it was good. My cod was light and crisp, came with coleslaw and I'm typically not a fan but it was actually good, I opted for bake potatoe my fave... Hubs enjoyed his plate along with our son. I'd definitely come here again. Our waitress was pleasant and stayed on top of everything. Restroom also clean and stocked. Glad we decided to try it. read more

The only reason I give 2 stars is because the last two Fridays we have gone for the fish fry they have been out of baked fish and clam chowder. This is not late in the evening this is at 6:30. There are still two hours till they close, so why can't they make more? The waitress tells us that they run out of the baked fish at 5 well then why don't you make more for the evening shift. If you always run out why can't you make more of the fish and soup. Having this experience happen to us two weeks in a row has made us not want to come back on a Friday evening. read more

Love this place. My wife and I were out house hunting in Dewey and decided to check this Cafe out. It was packed full of locals and when seated, we were treated to a delightful lunch. I ordered the triple decker club on white and she ordered a melted cheese sandwich. The potato salad that came with my meal was German type with red potatoes and it was delicious! Had a wonderful and HUGE breakfast here. If you're a modest eater, ask how much bacon, toast, etc. comes with breakfast before you order. Breakfast was so good, we went back for chocolate malts the next day. If you are over 60 years old, you might remember what a real malt tastes like ... this is the place for one of those. This is my favorite place to get breakfast in Prescott/Dewey. I have yet to have a bad meal here. I usually get the green chili omlete which is delicious. They don't use canned chilis so there is no tinny, vinegar flavor and it's always cooked perfectly. The coffee is good and everything is served hot and fast. My kids usually get the pancakes or waffles and love them, granted it's hard to mess up pancakes or waffles. The restaurant is very casual and friendly. They have tables, booths, and a counter to sit at and eat as well. If you are looking for a great place to eat where the locals go, this is the place. read more
