They are the best. I'm a homeowner who rents the back house (duplex), my tenant became difficult and, at times, a nightmare to deal with. The tenant and her visitors were unruly, and disruptive; she even stopped paying rent without a notification or reason. I was stressed; Ofelia and Carlos took care of everything related to these issues all the way to eviction. They guided me through the whole process with kindness. Deborah N. I am writing this review to express my gratitude for the excellent service that I received from Blue Horizon Property Management. I am a landlord and I had two tenants that were hell on earth to me. They did not pay their rents for more than one year and they damaged their units badly in addition to that. I decided to evict them. I experienced a lot of run around by many Property Management Companies and Eviction Lawyers to help me with eviction services. In the process of calling every property management company that came across my way, I called a company and someone picked up. The person that picked up the phone asked me for the reason I was calling. I told her I was calling to find out if they provide eviction service. She told me no, that her company does not provide that service but that she knows a company that provides the service and she could refer me to them. I said ok. She gave me the telephone number to Blue Horizon Property Management, I called the number and Carlos Palmas picked up the phone. I explained my ordeal to him and it was unbelievable how Carlos understood what I was going through and he picked up the matter from there. He felt sorry for me and he assured me he would help me because his company provides that service too. Lo and below, the following day I was in his office to complete all the paper works needed to get the eviction started. Blue Horizon Property Management was with me through thick and thin of the eviction process. Carlos lifted my nightmare off my shoulder and helped me in getting rid of those two bad tenants of mine. Today, as I am writing this review, those two terrible tenants are out of my property and my life. Now I have my life back. Where do I start, at first when we moved in maybe the first 2 months they were very responsive very attentive to us the tenants. Then all of a sudden no one answered no emails were responded texts were left unanswered calls were forwarded. We needed a water heater for the house we were renting we were about three days with cold water and no one ever responded, well yes they did but brushed me off asking if we had payed our gas bill (like what??!?!) they finally responded mind you I have three little ones at home and it was during winter. Another red flag incident was when the roof was leaking because of the heavy rain they sent someone to fix the inside but never the outside ( their handy man said he supposedly did go, I was on maternity leave I was home all day no one ever came to fix the outside) a year later it rained real bad, and that room leaked soooooo much it started to get moldy it was the room my kids slept at unfortunately we were unable to use that room because I wasn't going to expose my children to that, I mentioned it to them ( Carlos Palma) and nothing per usual. We were told the owners wanted their property back, and it was just soooo messy. The contract was broken in so many ways, blue horizon never went for the keys never did the walk through with us they never sent me my deposit back! Fortunately we knew the owners were the next door neighbors to whom we gave the keys to. But I still feel it was very irresponsible of this company to not follow through with what our contract stated! In conclusion NO I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND . I have been passively listening to my girlfriend deal with this management company and their Long Beach properties and let me tell you I have never seen such unprofessional, irresponsible and neglectful property management company in all my days. I am specifically and ONLY referring to which I know and that is the Long Beach properties. Carlos, the "manager" of downtown long beach properties is absolutely unreachable. It took weeks to find out which garage was even hers, only to be told she would be sharing it, took a couple more weeks to figure out which tenants she was going to now be sharing it with. Not to mention several miscommunications regarding very basic information such as keys, dates, financial info ect. Obviously moved out for a plethora of reasons, Carlos still refuses to answer the phone or emails, having to machine gun call the front desk to get an incompetent receptionist to relay the message to have this Carlos person call back, as if he has a secret line or extension only he can get through to. Fast forward to now even after the lease is broken on their part and she had not received her deposit back after 21 days there is still no word from the man Carlos. There are a lot of properties in Long Beach, save yourself the headache and just live under a bridge, believe me it's worth it unless you have money for a lawyer to get your deposit back. Let me start this review by saying that Blue Horizon Property Management has gone above and beyond my expectations as a tenant. I have had only two issues while living here one year, they immediately took care of the problems and assured me by giving me the maintenance guys cell phone number for immediate assistance in the near future. I plan on living here for as long as they continue to manage these apartments. This group is non responsive during good times and heartless at bad. I recently received a 25% salary cut due to covid 19, I emailed them to see if there was any chance for temporary reduction in rent. The response I received was a border line threat that if I did not pay my rent they would still evict me and a begrudging form about rent deferral. My pay wasn't deferred it was cut, so rent deferral is less than useless. I'm defiantly moving as soon as I can and I hope my apartment and the empty one next door make it impossible for them to pay their bills as well. read more
