Burgers and cajun tots (Insta @badtothebite)

When I'm craving a burger, I make the trip to Blue Moon. Great service, delicious burgers and it always hits the spot! I love that you can get fries or tots or onion rings, they even have cajun for fries/tots. It's so nice in the summer with their extensive patio that is dog friendly. Give it a try you will not be disappointed!

Went to lunch on a weekday before noon and it wasn't busy. You order at the counter and you take a seat inside or out. It's right across the street from the beach and there are quite a few tables outside to enjoy the view. The service was sketchy. My son repeated several times no tomato, but his burger came with 2 slices of tomato. Not too hard to remedy though. He just removed them. However, somehow my order wasn't even put in, so my son had his burger and all I was delivered was my fries and had to wait for them to put the order in again for my sandwich. My son said his burger was decent. Unfortunately, he advised me to get a burger, but I ordered the fish sandwich. It was nothing more than a frozen fried square of fish dressed up with some onions and lettuce. Word to the wise, don't order the fish sandwich. The fries had pepper on them which was nice but they were pretty much run of the mill fries. Overall, I gave this place 3 stars because of the ambience and proximity to the beach. If you just want a burger and a beer at the beach, it would be a decent place to hang out by the beach.

    The Hangover Burger House Salad

We stopped by for lunch after spending the morning at Alki Beach and managed to beat the lunch rush. We ordered one burger each and also a House Salad -- The Hangover Burger, The Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and The Backyard BBQ (Special). Of the burgers, my favorite was definitely the Hangover, and it was also just very aptly named ;) The sunny egg and fries inside were a nice heavy touch, but it didn't feel like too much balanced with the salad. The chicken sandwich is actually pretty spicy and has jalapeños in it, and I'm not a huge fan of BBQ but this was pretty well executed. My big complaint is about the salad -- for $7 it didn't even fill the to-go box halfway. I was expecting there to be a high density of leaves? But there wasn't. The flavors themselves are pretty standard and I would've been happy had I just gotten more. No idea how tiny their smaller serving would be if this is the full size. Docked for it because it was disappointing but was happy enough about the burgers!

This is a busy spot with great views of the water and beach access! People need to be understanding when there is one person to take orders, fix drinks/milkshakes, and bring food to the table. The wait was long for our food (about 30 min) but it was super busy with limited staff. I ordered the standard burger on gluten free and my husband got the hangover burger on gluten free. We shared gluten free tots. Gluten free bun held together well and didn't fall apart. Meat was juicy and not dry (could use more seasoning). Tots were good!

Burgers , Brews & Beach is no joke when you dine at Blue Moon Burgers on Alki. One of the only worthy burger joints in West Seattle you'll find. On a hot summer day I physically crave a Blue Moon burger when I'm sunning over on Alki beach. I know it's a fresh burger by the organic taste of fresh beef , pork ( bacon slice ) and veggies prepared & applied to my bun.... You defiantly need to lean over your burger cause the juiciness just flows from it and I don't want to be showered with it all over my Versace trunks. I suggest you try one and watch the sunset while you chow down. Burger review OVER!

Wish they opened later to enjoy a burger in the sunset

The reviews and stars explains why it's so low. We waited in line at 7:45pm and my husband has been trying this place for the 4th time. We've been hopeful that after the 4th we would def get an order. At 7:57 the nice young lady said kitchen was close and that "the owners would have our heads if we took orders this late and there's nothing we can do". There was only one other person behind me so it wasn't busy - and it's before 8pm. We are in the food industry and understand but if we were close at 8pm we normally put the order. Employees made us wait 15 mins in line when we could've gone to the Judkins for some good eats if we had the warning early on and could've left wayyyy early. The atmosphere was great on this bright sunny Seattle day, and the young lady was apologetic about not taking the order at 7:45 or 7:57 at the front.

The restaurant itself leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm not asking too much. I believe the owner said he was trying to revamp the place. I hope that the area comes alive in the future years, that should help. Here's the issue though, this is the slowest spot ever. I've waited 30 minutes for fries - FRIES. I don't mind waiting for food, but it should remain reasonable. There were only two or three people working, and one man did tell us this, but I need to be honest - this was on Super Bowl Sunday. No one was able to get anyone a beer from the tap for 40 minutes, the food took forever and it appeared that online orders were being prioritized (which makes sense, you make as you get orders coming in, but that puts your in person customers in an odd and sometimes frustrating position). To be honest, I probably wouldn't have minded as much if I just had some fries to snack on. I didn't mind as much this one time because I was just happy to find a place to watch the Super Bowl Half Time show, but other days, it's a little hard to look past. I wish this business the best, I live too close to not hope for its improvement! Looking forward to updating my review. At the end of the day, if you're hungry, it's late, this is your spot.

There was no garlic at all, but what I did get was a pretty large appetizer that did its job and more. The main dish, the hotstone beef bibimbap, was a lot worse. Firstly, this came with ground beef rather than the beef slices I was expecting. The rice at the bottom was dry like it should be in a clay pot, but lacking really any of that slightly-burnt, hard qualities that makes a clay pot rice what it is. It just tasted dry. But the ground beef was probably the worst part. It was dry, lacking in really any seasoning, and the portion was tiny. I'd finished the beef with still half the bowl remaining. This was not a bibimbap I would come back to at all. Overall, there are way too many better places in the international district for me to ever recommend this. 5/10

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

My only complaint is that the burger was a bit too salty. Service: It was mid. They messed up on our orders and instead of replacing it, she just walked away. They ask for tips which is odd because you have to go to the counter and order and clean the table yourself. They only bring the food and I'm guessing that has more to do with the lack of space. A tip shouldn't be asked. Also when we ordered, we didn't know thy would bring out the meal so we stood inside for a while. They don't take your name or give you a buzzer so I'm not sure how they can keep track. Lastly, it took a while for us to get our food. It wasn't that busy but it looked like there was only one cook. Ambiance: the inside is TINY but it's a vibe. It's small and oddly shaped but the ceilings are high and it's sort of an industrial open concept. They have a small seating outside and a bigger patio seating on the side street. Napkins, utensils and ketchup are all the table which makes it easier. But the place gets packed so you might not even get a seat. Overall: I'd go back because the burgers were that good. But it's not going to be my go-to spot mainly because of the service.
