I visit the International District frequently, but I had never tried this restaurant before. The restaurant was clean a server brought water promptly. I ordered the kimchi fried rice. The dish came with 3 banchans, stir fried fish cake, shredded radish, braised potatoes. The stir fried fish cake had most heat and the braised potatoes had natural sweetness. This might just be one of my new favorite spots for KFC?!!! The chicken was super crispy on the outside and so tender on the inside. The soy garlic flavor was also delicious and very prominent. The bulgogi and corn cheese were standard but I have had better. The corn cheese was a little liquidy so it wasn't really sticking together. We came here late on a weeknight craving some Korean soup and this place did not miss! The owner was incredibly friendly. It was just him running the front and he was managing all orders, cleaning tables, and running food - so props to him! Almost all the tables were full the whole time we were there so business seemed to be booming. I ordered kimchi jigae and despite the amount of people, my food came out fairly quickly. This soup was EXACTLY what I needed. It was rich and savory, full of umami and sour kimchi flavor. It had a kick of spice, but I needed it since I was dealing with the end of a cold. I loved the huge chunks of tofu which seemed to suck up all the flavor. It came with a bowl of rice and a couple sides of banchan (which is my favorite part tbh). Came here around 8:20pm on a Thursday for bibimbap and it was perfect cold weather food. The hot stone bibimbap with beef was very tasty, but the hot stone wasn't as screaming hot as it should have been, so our rice didn't get truly crunchy/crispy. Excellent gochujang sauce. But all the elements were tasty and there was some good banchan (kimchi, potato salad). We didn't ask for refills, so I don't know if they give them for free. Parking was easy and service was friendly, although we had to ask several times for water (they also have hot barley tea for free, but, again, you gotta ask). Price was reasonable. read more

Was wandering around the International District and saw this cute restaurant! In an area full of Chinese options, I decided to go for Korean fried chicken since it's been a while. I opted for the honey flavor because I haven't seen it offered often (thinking it's supposed to be like Kyochon's honey flavor) in the states. For a table of three, my friends and I didn't have to wait long, and servers were very prompt in showing us the menu and providing suggestions on their favorites. Several TVs hang inside and play a variety of Kpop music, and there's an ample amount of seating. The menu consists of tons of food, most notable being their fried chicken and meat dishes. Together, my friends and I got the yangyum combo (which consisted of half regular fried chicken amd half yangyum chicken, both boneless), dolsot bibimbap, and a spicy pork dish over rice. Their fried chicken was so flavorful and crispy that it primed us up for the rest of our meal, which was just as satisfying. I could keep going on about their bibimbap, but long story short I loved the whole thing especially when stirred together! Their spicy pork also had a ton of nice flavoring along with the side of japchae on the same plate. I say near because I like my breading crispy and crunchy, basically unhealthy style. But Gangnam says noooo, you will be healthy and we will make it only slightly crispy with no grease or oil. So I'm like Ok Gangnam, whatever you say cuz I just love your tenders. Another thing, the chicken itself just LOOKS and TASTES sooooooo clean! Love it! And its Hot (temperature wise)! Love it! And they're not small starved chicken tenders either, they got some meat to them! That's pretty much it! I do wish they gave you an option for the side white sauce that comes with it, perhaps hotsauce instead?! It is "slightly" pricey for a 5 or 10pc, but for me its for sure worth it. Fast, friendly service, good food, and a fun atmosphere - what more could you want? I came here with 4 friends a week ago after we were craving some chicken. One friend suggested Gangnam so we went the to the ID location just a block from Uwajimaya. The waitress was friendly and we were seated immediately. We ended up getting a large order of both the Honey Chicken Thighs (boneless) and the Yangnyum Chicken Thighs (boneless). We also ordered a side of the kimchi fried rice. The chicken was excellent - crunchy, hot, and very tasty. I did prefer the Honey chicken to the Yangnyum as the spice was more prevalent, but both were good! The kimchi fried rice was just OK - it had a lot of butter that I think took away from the flavor of the dish itself. Total was ~$100 after tax and tip. We ordered some white rice and I think drinks, and there is a mandatory service charge that is added (the waitress stressed that no additional tip is necessary as the service charge covers this). So first off, this place reminds me a lot of Korean Soju bars in the early to mid 2000s. There are posters of Kpop groups, 3 large Screen TVs playing their Music Videos, and chalk boards for customers to leave their imprints. I wasn't here to drink but this could be a cool venue for after hours if you're into drinking Soju or Soju bombs over fried chicken or other Korean snacks. Service was okay. Wasn't expecting much anyway. Very typical of a Korean restaurant. I see this as a good thing. So, onto the food! I was impressed by how they fried the French fries. Very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Overall, the food was quite sweet for my taste but this seems to be how Korean food these days is trending. I am pretty sure the fries were seasoned with salt and sugar. The chicken sandwich was quite sweet but again, very well made. I ordered the spicy and I could feel a little bit of heat (not too much). Textures work well. And I could taste some sort of fruit-based sauce. Couldn't really tell what it was but it worked I thought. Overall, I would give this place a 3.5 if I could but I am rounding up since the price was very reasonable ($11.99 for sandwich + fries + diet coke). Portions were quite large as well. read more

We came here as a group of 5 around 6pm on a Sunday in July and were easily able to find a table. It seems like a lot of customers tend to do takeout. Once we sat, we got water fairly quickly which was nice because it was quite hot that day. When we were ordering our food, a person in my group asked for all flats when she ordered wings and they were able to accommodate that request. As we waited for the food, they gave us these four dishes to share that came complimentary. I appreciated being able to try something new, but was not sure what the name of the different dishes were. Food came out as it was ready rather than out at the same time, but that ended up being fine because no one finished their food before another person got their food. I ordered the teriyaki chicken with white rice and when I got my food, there was also a noodle and a fried egg that came with it. Those two items were not listed as included. I enjoyed the chicken and rice, but the texture of the noodle was not for me and I am not a fan of a runny yolk so I just put the egg to the side. I tried the gyoza and liked the dipping sauce that came with it. I also tried the Potato hotdog and the cheese inside was nice and melty while the outside was crispy. The people in my group enjoyed what they ordered too and overall we were satisfied with our meal. I believe the price for the food was fairly reasonable. read more

The restaurant is cute and decorated with all the K-pop posters and soju caps (how creative!) and played all my favorite K-pop artists and songs. As a group we ordered the soy garlic wings and a seafood pancake to share, and NO CAP this was the best KFC and pancake I've ever had! Everything was packed with flavor and was the perfect texture of crispy! Our waitress was super sweet and gave us extra sauce to use on the pancake to take home, because we demolished all the sauce it came with. My partner got two types of fried chicken, which he liked, and also a mozzarella dog. The sides were not good and tasted either prepackaged or old, so we didn't eat them.
