Rediscovered Blue Moon upon returning to Tulsa a few years ago and it has easily become our favorite spot in town. They offer breakfast, lunch, takeout, brunch on the weekends and special meal kits to-go. They also serve up daily lunch specials throughout the week and a full list of brunch specials on the weekend, which are absolutely next level. (I'll share some of my favorite specials at the end.) Aside from having incredibly delicious and healthy food, they have fantastic service and the whole place has a really great vibe to it - Which stems from an amazing collection of classic concert posters, contemporary street art, incredible music, a rad collection of salt & pepper shakers, a nice collection of indoor plants and a beautiful patio. Here are a few of my favorite things: for breakfast I usually do the Blue Plate Special (classic eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast) or the Breakfast Quesadilla (so good). For lunch I often go with the special or the cheese burger. It comes with the best fries in the state! No matter what you order, do yourself a favor and get a side of fries. What I love about Blue Moon is that they truly love food, and are always trying out new things. That's why the specials are always next level. One day it will be Fish and Chips, but the next day it might be Bo Ssam lettuce wraps! Here are some items you need to be on the look out for: The Okie Pig Sandwich, 9:30 Casserole, The Notorious BnG, The Deluxe Meatloaf Sandwich, Beef Bun Cha Gio, Pigs in a Blanket (Three sausage links wrapped in 3 pancakes), The Mateo, the Korean Style BBQ Chicken Sandwich, the Campers Breakfast, and last but not least - the Kimchi-brined Chicken Katsu Sando. Some will say this Yelp review is a blatant effort to get EVERYONE to request the Katsu Sando so it will become a regular special, or even -- dare I dream -- a menu item. A hidden gem on Peoria. Miagas for breakfast - what a way to start the day. Hot, fresh and full of flavor with crunchy tortillas. Small touches matter and they layer tortillas, eggs then the sauce so the chips do not get soggy quickly. The environment is really fun and eclectic with posters all over and fun signs. There is a lot of natural light (which we love!) and outdoor seating for when there is great weather. The service was fine. Kind. Helpful. Neither my husband nor I cared for the food we chose. That's not to say there isn't good food ... it's just that what we got we didn't care for. The sauce on the Reuben was not like normal expected Reuben. And the poppy seed salads dressing I got was so bland I just kept adding salt and pepper. The artwork is tacky (in my opinion. After completing her goal of going an entire month without sugar, my friend decided to celebrate her accomplishments with what she deemed THE BEST whole wheat pancakes in town. I wouldn't say that Blue Moon has moved into my top 5 breakfast spots in Tulsa, but I will definitely be back. The oatmeal was vegan friendly, and they have dairy free creamer options including soy. I'm always going to be attracted to places that have specific vegan friendly options, not accidentally vegan friendly options. That being said, there are four awesome reasons to go to Blue Moon for breakfast. 1. The location! Blue Moon is conveniently located in the heart of Brookside with a convenient parking lot out back. There is even a stop light to make turning left on Peoria a possibility when it's time to leave. 2. The bread! Blue Moon makes their own bread, and it is fabulous. I highly recommend the sourdough. 3. The people! The staff and customers at Blue Moon have always seemed friendly in my experience. They have regulars for a reason. You get to interact with them more due to the ordering experience. 4. The atmosphere! When you visit Blue Moon, make sure you check out the beautiful artwork displayed on the walls. Tabbouleh? "What's that I asked!!" I was told it's a vegetarian dish, made from chopped tomato, mint, parsley, bulgur (Turkish cereal made from different wheats), and onion. She then added, "It's our most ordered dish along with a Reuben Sandwich!!" Did she just say Reuben Sandwich? I was sold, done!! I couldn't believe how good my reuben sandwich was, and my tabbouleh...? Man, I'm no vegetarian but that dish was just way too good!! By the way, their coffee here was good too!! Who knew... This place is becoming a go-to. Prefer for lunch/ brunch to dinner. Like the menu better, and the price-value ratio, I feel is also better. Favorites are the "other favorite grilled cheese" (complete with olive tapenade" and the "Brookside" (spicy jalapeno bread, ham, cheese, grilled onions, and spicy mustard). Love adding the black-eyed peas as the side ("I'm addicted and I just can't get enough.") Their soups, and lunch special of the day are worth trying. Last time had a "slaw" type dinner salad in a champagne vinaigrette, topped with shaved prosciutto and pulled chicken. Sounded crazy; I bought in; was great. A hole in the wall cafe located in the posh Aberson white buildings of Brookside! I do love this fast casual style restaurant. You walk in, order your food from their menu and sit down. They will deliver it to your table when it is ready. Love the natural light in the building, instantly makes you calm! I got the southwest Santa Fe salad with grilled chicken. Overcooked hard potatoes and very little scrambled eggs in the dish. They ALWAYS run out of their daily special if you come for breakfast after church . Blue Moon is my second home, the needed vibe break from the materialsitic, cold chaos of Brookside. The staff is friendly but also no nonsense. They allow dogs on their patio to enjoy the bamboo and the delicious plates. You will miss it is you're not carefully looking. This place does not have a big sign On a weekday it seems very chill. Not so busy. The ambience is very relaxing. The prices are as shown. You get a menu and you have to order at the counter. Maybe they were short handed it took a while for someone to come to the register to take our order. I always forget about this place. It's on Brookside but it kind of Blends in. I met a girlfriend here for breakfast. I had forgotten that you have to stand in line first. She was 9 months pregnant and that was kind of stressful because I was afraid that all of the indoor tables would be gone by the time we got through the line. Luckily they weren't. My food was pretty good. I had a breakfast sandwich but it was very expensive it was just a biscuit with bacon egg and cheese and nothing on the side and a small mimosa and it cost me about $16 . it was good but I doubt I will frequent this place for breakfast or brunch. read more

We've come to Blue Moon many times over the years. Mediocre Food. Mediocre Bloody Mary's. Food is acceptable, but not exciting. Bad customer service - we entered and then placed our order. We sat down and then realized that the lady at the register did not give us the cinnamon roll we ordered. I went back to the register to request the cinnamon roll and she threw it in a basket and gave it to me cold, when I asked to have it heated up, she look put out, but said she would bring it to the table. Next, we sat down and our food came. Apparently the lady at the register had heard my fiancée say "Breakfast potatoes" rather than what she actually said "breakfast tacos". A few minutes later she came out asking us to pay the difference in the bill ($5 for scrambled eggs and tortillas) for her mistake. I paid it, and we decided that we won't be back. Having worked in the service industry a long time I do not understand how you would rationalize making the customer pay for the restaurant's mistake. I was looking for something a little different to have lunch with our upcoming College Freshman. This looked like a great place to get away. Very hipster. It's less of what I would call a cafe and more of a high end deli that serves craft beer. Don't get me wrong, the food was great and the daughter loved it. But wasn't what I expected it to be. To me it didn't stand out any more than Jason's Deli or McAllister's. You cleaned up after yourself and pretty much served and took care of yourself. When I first walked in I actually felt kind of like I was at home in Austin... for you Austin-ers, it's kind of like a modern Magnolia Cafe with a Texas Honey Ham twist to it. But enough about Austin... It's a wonderfully lit and modern cafe. I like that you can order at the front from the massive menu on the board, or you can sit with a menu and order when you're ready. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are nicely sized, not too small, but not too big. I ordered the breakfast wrap and it was incredible... it's what reminded me of Texas Honey Ham. I absolutely loved it, the flavors and textures were totes the best! Yes, I did just say that. I also ordered a side pancake ($3... kinda steep considering the size but I was still very happy with my meal). Blue Moon is such a cute place!! It has a great vibe and fun decor. I love their obsession with different types of salt and pepper shakers. This place is a must try for sure! I love coming here for breakfast, but lunch here has treated me well too. I had a Bull's Eye this last time which was an over easy egg cooked in the middle of wheat toast. The potatoes were so delicious with a perfect crunch on the outside. The bacon was also made to perfection. I liked this meal a lot because the portion size was just right. Most breakfast places serve way too much food that you end up feeling sick afterwards, but Blue Moon knows how to do it right. For lunch, I like getting a 1/2 and 1/2 either with a soup or pasta side and a sandwich. I recommend the club sandwich. It's so tasty! read more

Great brunch spot for an early Sunday morning bite after church! I had the bagel with egg and cheese, minus the cheese because dairy is not my friend, so really just a toasted bagel with egg. Can't go wrong there. The Husband had his usual fare of eggs over medium, toast, and bacon. Again, a winner. If I could drink, this is where I would come for a boozy brunch concoction. The menu looked so good! Seating was really slim pickin' for 0900 on a Sunday but we made do.
