Great experience! We got seated right away on a Saturday night. Staff was very timely. Our waiter Aiden was very entertaining and gave great recommendations. For dinner we got the Triple Play and the Steak Fajitas which were both delicious and good sized portions. The blood orange margarita was also delicious, recommended by our server. Ambiance was nice! Absolute crap! Flies would not stop landing on me. Taco portions were minuscule (tiny). I asked for "can you please put more sea salt on these chips in the back?" They handed me a table salt shaker. We've tried Blue Moon on and off for the last 20 years and each time we leave beyond disappointed and vow never to go back. The food; far from authentic Mexican - our burrito arrived soggy and almost entirely rice. Also ordered the shrimp tacos which were also a mess, dripping with liquid and extremely bland. Service wasn't spectacular either, our waitress came back to the table once after we were almost done and asked if we needed drink refills. I'm afraid this will be the last attempt we make to see if things get better, which probably won't bother management given the place is always busy. read more

They also came with queso and salsa for dipping. ++++ Tacos de Amor special with grilled skirt steak tips, garlic shrimp on corn tortillas was verrrrry good. The meats had delicious flavor and there was no skimping, however, we figured after our meal that the chimichurri was actually missing :( ++++ Fish Tacos with beer battered cod filets was excellent! It was topped with jalapeño tartar sauce and slaw and I absolutely devoured it! The fish was crispy and cooked well. ++++ Kids Cheese Quesadillas was as you would expect for kids quesadillas. They were super thin, with a layer of cheese, but our kids enjoyed it. + Waiter was great. I took a long break from this place and we finally went back and I am actually glad that we did while it is far from amazing. It is a decent place to get some quality Mexican food at a reasonable price in our area.. The staff seems to be an issue with this place sometimes it's really good and other times it's downright horrible to a point where the one night when my boyfriend was given the incorrect order, the waiter actually tried to argue and say that he ordered it unfortunately, we are vegetarians so we knew there was no way that my boyfriend ordered a beef burrito . However, when the order is correct, the food is actually very good and they have a lot of good choices and of course, the complementary chips and salsa are always delicious as well as their margaritas. They do have different events there which I thought was really cool including horror trivia around Halloween and hocus-pocus trivia. I would definitely say give it a try if you're local. read more

It's been a decade since the Jersey City location packed up, so I was eager to give the spot in Wyckoff a try and catch some live music on a Saturday night. We stopped in at 8:00 and squeezed into a table. Service was friendly, particularly for a packed house. Unfortunately, the experience just didn't hold up. An order of "zucchini nachos" was served as a plate of limp, thick cut squash with black beans + avocado + cilantro + onions. Decently seasoned but desperately missing some crunch. The good....the staff is very pleasant Food was greasy on it was just ok if you are desperate for a meal. A little run down. The didn't have decaffeinated tea and the tea they did serve was so strong and dark that I could have made 4 large glasses with water to make it palatable. I have been to blue moon quite a bit, because they have an OK Pina Colada and service is generally good. We came for drinks and an early dinner. They have nice seating outside, but you're definitely on top of each other as some of the tables are really close. Food and drinks do come out quickly and everything is reliably average. This visit is had the veggie chili taco salad. The seasoning on the veggie chili is very good although there were some very large chunks of veggies, and the salad toppings were just ok. I did have my Pina Colada, and while tastey, it wasn't probably blended so there were large chunks of ice in it. Friends meals were also average, not good or bad, and they did like their drinks. Overall if you're just looking for basic quick Mexican , this is not a bad place to try. read more

This is more than a Cafe, it's flavortown for all your tastebuds... the manly margaritas are awesome, the housemade chips and salsa is addicting and comes out hot and fresh, but the the steak fajita was sooooooo juicy, teder, flavorful and I couldn't get enough. I almost ordered another 2 but I didn't want to kill my buzz haha. This is located in an outdoor shopping mall with plenty of parking. I gave Blue Moon a bad review about a year ago, but I worried I was being too harsh so I took it down. Nope. I've now been back twice and this is amongst the worst Mexican restaurant in Bergen/Passaic county and the worst restaurant in Wyckoff. The food is not good at all, period. And it's overpriced at that. You'd be better at any other local joint. The servers are friendly, but I've waited far too long for my food each time I've been there. This review is all about the unfortunate marketing ploy. First off, the food was good. But that experience was ruined by this most unfortunate "gift". So the manager comes around and hands of this envelope, which says "SECRET HOLIDAY GIFT". And he tells us now mind you this is important. He tells us in person. Yes on the back. There's a list of items. Don't open it until you get home, but you can come back and use one of those one day. Hope to see you soon. So when we get home, we open it up thinking we're going to get a coupon for a free appetizer or entrée or dessert or maybe even better one of the gift certificates listed. But no, what's in there? A 10% off Super Bowl catering coupon only. Not 10% off all kinds of catering, which would still be shady, but not nearly as shady. Instead 10% off one day Super Bowl catering. Not with the manager said to come back and visit and use it. No wonder they wanted me to open it when I got home. I called the restaurant. they said oh that's interesting. Maybe that was an error by marketing. Do you want to come in and we'll see what we can do about it? Any answer to that is no I don't want to come all the way back to Wyckoff to see what you might do about it. Perhaps the manager should call me and suggest that this is very unfortunate given what they said to me and then told me what coupon they were going to give me instead. What really has me upset is we went there not looking for anything - Except a good meal. But then when the manager comes around and makes a big deal and hand us this and leads us to believe we're going to get a coupon to use at our next visit but then we end up getting this that's when I find it misleading, shady, and upsetting. And unfortunately, that is what I took away from my memory of this restaurant. and that's why I am leaving this negative review. Because aside from that I really did enjoy my stirfry vegetables with grilled chicken over the rice. It was very tasty and it was very healthy and it was very fresh and well prepared. But I don't know that I'm going to go back given that this happened is it unfortunate that I won't go back for a meal again to eat that food? Perhaps although there are quite a few Mexican restaurants around I guess I can try Others of which are just as good. Service was excellent they made no mistake food didn't take that long it was very good. Ambiance is good love the bar area how it is kind of dark in side with that Mexican feel to it. Really underwhelming; I got the Fajita Moon with steak which was mostly rice with a tiny amount of chopped steak (rather than steak strips) and minimal peppers. Perhaps the Grilled Steak Fajita would have been more authentic but I'll probably never know. They also had 4 hostesses and 2 wait staff in the section that I was in which I'm assuming they have their reasons for. Unlikely to return, would try the place down the street. read more

I go here almost every week. The food comes out quick and while you are waiting you get free chips and salsa. They will re-fill them anytime when needed for free as well. Their menu has a great variety of different Mexican foods. You definitely feel the vibe with the atmosphere. The table is always clean, and the service is always great. I would definitely recommend. Everyone is always so nice and makes sure to check up on you, to make sure you are doing good. You can eat in a quieter room or a bar, whatever one you want. Definitely an amazing restaurant. Have been coming here for years. Food is great. Last time I went we went the service was subpar. When we walked in someone was already there complaining about the bartender's service and their issues with the bill, so much so that the restaurant felt the need to comp the bill. During our meal was no attentiveness to us, we had to ask for refills and at one point the bar was unattended for so long a patron went back and filled up their party's drinks themself from the fountain. Eventually we got our bill, we paid cash, and they took the bill. We stayed waiting for the change and watching the games. After a little bit the waiter/bartender came back, gave us a few thumbs up thumbs down thumbs up, no words spoken and then proceeded to give us another bill (a totally different amount) which we were quick to bring up that we had already paid the check. Another young waiter had to come over and apologize for the other waiter's antics and said we were good. He then found our first bill on the ground behind the bar and was laughing that hopefully the cash ended up in the register. We certainly left with a bad taste in our mouths about the experience. For one of the only bars in the area to have just 3 parties with playoff football on is a bad sign. Hopefully they turn things around for the better I have had great experiences in the past. so we called and they said the wait time was only 20 mins and no need to make a reservation. we show up and it was a mad house and they ask for a reservation. we tell them we talked to someone on the phone and they didn't want to take down our name or info. so the manager comes out and tries to find us a table and fix it. first he says 5 mins then he disappears then i see him giving a table to someone else. we wait like 15-20 mins. finally i go up to the manager and i say where is my table. he sits us down. don't tell us that you will fix the mistake of the girl on the phone and then still make us wait 20 mins. i know its still a restaurant but why have girls that work there answer the phone and not know what they are talking about. i would have put my name down. other than the miscommunication the food was good. i got the tacos and enjoyed them. it was a headache getting our table though. read more
