We discovered Great pizza (loved the crust), great service and great value!!!! Sure wish that we could get this pizza in Charlotte, NC!

Was in Denver for a conference and had never been to Vail so we popped in for a few hours only and were starving. This place was packed on a Wednesday in the middle of the day! Wait for a table for over an hour but the bar had two open spots that we could take. One poor bartender was all there was to service all the bar guests but man was he fast! Service for food took a while but we got our drinks right away so we were fine with taking the scene in. We ordered the Big Moose Pizza and a slice of the Jalapeno Popper pizza, both were awesome. I would like to visit again and try a different kind or just sit on the patio with a drink and relax. read more

Pizza was good. Service was terrible. A male bartender with a funny mustache was berating customers and employees with every interaction. He was incredibly rude and condescending. We were also told we couldn't sit at the bar and drink a beer while waiting for our to go order. Don't recommend this place. read more

Welcome to Vail! After walking around the area a bit we decided we needed to eat. This place seemed to fit the bill, so we ordered up some cheese bread and pizza pie. All came out quickly and was pleasing to the pallet. Really liked that my kids could color on the table paper. Fun place in a beautiful location! Roggen....out! read more

Wow! The speed of service was incredible. From sitting down to finishing our meal.... 35 minutes. That included ordering adult beverages and a large Winter pizza. The pizza itself was pretty decent. I like that the crust was in between thin and thick. I was with a group of girlfriends and we all decided a pizza on the plain-er side would suite everyone's tastes... so the Winter pizza it was, which is basically a margherita pizza. Personally would have liked to try the The Vintage (has meatballs on it, I'm sure it tastes like heaven) or the Autumn (truffle oil, goat cheese and mushrooms?! be still, my foodie heart). For Vail, I thought the prices on the menu were very reasonable. When I am back in ski country, I will be sure to stop here for another slice. Also liked the local brew selection. read more

Pizza was good. Nothing uhhhmazing but good. Wish SOMEONE delivered in Vail but they did quick take out. Just like other Yelpers have stated, do NOT expect good service. Just be prepared for that. Otherwise, straight forward and decent pizza. Done. read more

We didn't even get in the door because they refused to seat us. they said that they coild only put me in a bad seating area since there was a section rotation. I asked to please sit in a different section which was open and they refused And claimed they could not "find their manager" to do something different. Fast friendly service from our waitress from Connecticut! After having an awful time at another establishment close by, it was refreshing to have such a good experience with great pizza. The pizza had great flavor, generous toppings and a great hard crunch to the crust, with a soft middle. The old nine line drinks we ordered were fresh, not heavy handed or watered down. Solid pizza and beer for a reasonable price. Ever since the new Lionshead village opened, Blue Moose has been one of our go-to places for lunch. It's very close to the Gondola, so it's a great place to meet non-skiing family and friends for lunch and jump back on a lift to close out the afternoon. The pizza there is pretty good. They're generous with the toppings, especially by the slice. I got two slices yesterday and commented that they put two slices worth of toppings on each. Their salads are pretty big, the small greek could easily feed two as a starter. My favorite slices so far are the: Cowboy pizza (BBQ chicken), Chupacabra (goat cheese & mushrooms), and the Big Moose (everything style pizza). They have a good selection of beers, about 8 on draft. The bar area is a cool place to eat and drink for lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed with a blue moose in the center of the dining room. The staff is attentive and quick. Food was good and well priced. They've got some lunch specials that make things even cheaper. Drink + slice of cheese for $4! It's a lot cheaper and tastier than eating up on the mountain and it's location makes it super convenient. It's why I keep going back. read more

My family and I ate here last night on our first night in Vail. I'm not sure whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars. I think 3.5 stars would be the best judgement. Overall, a good place to eat. Good atmosphere inside. A good casual place for groups to have a good meal in a relaxed environment. We were a party of 6 and had to wait about 10 minutes or so for a table which was great. The service was good and attentive. However, after we ordered, the food took a very very long time to come out. We ordered 4 different pizzas and one pasta. See below for my review of the food: Vonnderful Pizza: Awesome! My sister and I loved it. The others at the table didn't because of the flavor of the cheese and ingredients. Mediterranean Salad Pizza: Awesome! My sister and I loved it as well. But you have to like the ingredients which some of the others at the table didn't like so much. Meatlovers Pizza: Really good as well. Make your own pizza with broccoli and pineapple: Not really good at all. Very sparse on the toppings. My wife did not like it. Spaghetti with "meat" sauce: Terrible. Very disappointing. Very dry and bland with no flavor. I would not recommend. I would just stick with the pizza. Overall, a good place for some good pizza. To us who have lived in New York City, this is not nearly as good as any pizza you can get in New York City but then again, we're not in New York City. I still enjoyed my experience here. read more

For many years blue moose was a staple, the pizza was very good and so is the rest of the food... Unfortunately the quality of the pizza has gone down, a simple chicken Parm sandwich I had no flavor, I feel like they serve frozen chicken patties. Clearly the location is awesome... read more

i don't even want to give one star for how horrible of service we just experienced. we live locally and eat here often, but are so disappointed after that experience. The restaurant wasn't busy. We sat there for over an hour and never got our food, meanwhile we watched everyone around us who came after us get their food and leave. The waiters kept making excuses and telling us it was on its way, but then disappeared. We ended up having to leave due to our baby, and never got our food. It seems like all the workers there don't care about their job or customer service. VERY DISAPPOINTING read more

Pizza was good, service was good l, although an initial phone call to inquire about the location and parking was rather on the unpleasant side due to the employee on the phone sounded completely stoned out of his mind and not making any sense on the phone, not docking any stars for that as it's in Colorado lol Had the Jalapeño popper pizza and another one with chicken, sorry I can't remember the name. Both were tasty, although the Jalapeño was spicier than expected so I got stuck eating the Jalapeño pizza while all the other pansies ate the chicken pizza. Would return when in the area. Relative to quality and my home town Chicago, the prices for the food were significantly higher.. Place looked like it could use a bit of tidying up, but it was acceptable nonetheless. read more

We were here during the GoPro games; the height of activity in the Village. When we walked up to the stand, the hostess turned and walked away without greeting us. Another 2 employees came to the stand... not a word. We waited for quite a bit and the place was only half full. The beers we ordered were brought out. One of the glasses clearly had lipstick on it from a previous customer. When the appetizer came out, the plates were not clean. We sent half the plates and silverware back. The pizza was great. We had 3 pizzas and an app. Server was attentive and courteous. Food gets 4.5 stars, but the lack of cleanliness cuts that score in half. I'd question going there again based on the dirty plates/glasses. read more

Wow! Where are the negative stars? This place needs to stay closed. Some of the worst food (pizza) and service we have had in a resort town. How this place stays open is beyond me. Everyone's pizza arrived cold but we were told the plates are hot. Cheese on my pizza wasn't melted. Why serve the garbage. I couldn't talk to the server because the service was non existent. My frozen 6 but half pound of pigeon wings were cold with some sort of wanna be buffalo sauce slathered on. The place couldn't even get ice water correct. I had to grab a water from another member of our group to have something to drink. Our server was unable to process the simplest of orders. We had 12 in our group. Just pathetic!!! Outstanding service and a very solid pizza. The crust is fresh made and a nice chew at the crust. Toppings and cheese all blend well with the sauce and crust. It bumps up half a star for convenience if you're staying at the Arrabella or in the village it's right there within walking. Decent pizza with OK salads. Great, friendly service. My recommendation for this place is go for the pizza or calzones. For someone on a low carb way of eating there really isn't much to choose from; maybe a salad or two but my salad didn't blow me away. I think this would be best suited for a family's pizza night out. read more

We ordered assorted platters for 18 people. The ribs, smoked chicken, smoked turkey and sides were all very good. It comes with corn bread or rolls. Go with the cornbread. The rolls were a tad old. I would have given them a 5 if the rolls were fresh. read more

If you love pizza, You have to try blue moose pizza! They have a variety of choices to choose from, one of my favorite pizzas is the spring pizza.. yum.. just thinking about it makes me want a slice..this pizza has pesto sauce, tomatoes, artichoke and I like to add pineapple. It just yumminess in your mouth. I promise you, there has to be a pizza that you like there other than cheese and pepperoni. You won't be disappointed. Whenever I'm in Colorado, blue moose pizza is a must .. and when I mean must .. I mean must go multiple times. read more

Okay so this is my favorite pizza place here in lionshead. We arrived and it was pretty busy, they told us there was a 20 minute wait but they called us in less than 10. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread to start off. It wasn't very garlic-y, but I was very cheesy. It was pretty good. If you're a large party though you'll need more than one order. Since we were 5 we decided to order two pizza's the spring pizza (with pineapples) and the winter pizza (with parmesan). I'm more of a plain pizza person so I loved the winter pizza. It was great. If you like more toppings on your pizza the spring one is the way to go. The two large pizzas were enough for the five of us and we had a couples slices left over. Love the pizza here and the service is pretty good too! read more

Very bad service.. we came and waited for the server for 20 minutes we came inside let them know that we are sitting at the table waiting for them and the server came and told us "if you want you can leave" So we left because why we have to listen this from a server that we are been waiting for a long time, we were with 2 children that wanted pizza... !!!
