Anna, server for breakfast, was so friendly and attentive while we were dining at Blue Mound Cafe. We dropped in for a quick breakfast before scheduled haircuts later on. My wife, who wasn't too hungry, just ordered oatmeal and toast. I ordered 2 eggs over-easy, sausage, hashbrowns and pancakes on the side. While waiting on our breakfast entrees, and enjoying Community Coffee, our favorite, we loved sitting and reading all the signs in the restaurant. Breakfast was prepared to perfection! I enjoyed my over-easy eggs, crispy hashbrowns, sausage patties and pancakes. Next time, I'm going to order just one pancake. They're huge and thick and cooked just like I like them. Thank you, Blue Mound Cafe and Anna, for a wonderful visit. We'll see you again soon.

First time at Blue Mound for dinner and it did not disappoint! I've had some great breakfast here and dinner was just as good. The place is very comfortable, relaxed and spotless clean. Our server was fantastic, she made sure to talk us through the Daily Special menu. Had some of the best chicken fried steak I've had in a while. Huge portion, tender and a perfect coating. The price was spot on as well. Great visit and a new dinner favorite.

We were on our first date day after moving back home to the metroplex. We were looking for a good diner. We didn't find one. We found a GREAT diner. The service was spot on and the food was amazing. I'll just give one example, I ordered fried zucchini- y'all it was made in house fresh. Yum. We will be back often.

This place has the usual cafe decor with plenty of seating available. The staff was friendly and made sure we knew the specials for the day before we ordered. My son ordered the silver dollar pancakes, which were much larger than we expected. He said they tasted good and couldn't even finish them all. I ordered the BLT which was PACKED full of bacon! The bread was toasted nicely and I upgraded my fries to onion rings. The onion rings had a great flavor. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, which he also enjoyed. He didn't want his roll, so I ate some of it and let me tell you, it was SO good! We also ordered a cinnamon roll to go, I haven't tried it yet but it looks delicious!

We went on the first Sunday they were open and really enjoyed it. We got there mid-morning, right before the rush. The servers were attentive & friendly. They keep your coffee cup filled. The coffee was really good, like a smooth medium dark roast. The portions are MASSIVE and our food was very good. I got the breakfast quesadillas with bacon. They are stuffed! I couldn't even eat half the quesadillas and kept eating the hash browns but they seemed to be never ending. The salsa is really good! The box of leftovers felt like it weighed 5 lbs, lol. My Mom enjoyed her senior breakfast. The only thing that could have improved for the business is the older woman with short white hair working the hostess stand and register could have kept her comments to herself or a staff only area. She kept making comments like "just terrible" "such a disaster" while huffing and puffing. And from my perspective as a diner, we had a good time, saw staff working together to figure things out, lots of tables smiling with food on the tables & we enjoyed our food and service. We wish them the best of luck and plan to come back to try more great things! Will probably share an entree next time unless getting something that will be good as leftovers.

We tried the new Blue Mound Cafe yesterday. They are not stingy with anything. We each had 1/2 lb of bacon on each plate and hash browns enough for two. The Nana Foster French Toast Combo was delicious- but check out their pies!!! Very similar to Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls! Can't wait to go back! Best breakfast in a long time!!

Chicken Fried Steak daily special. Only $8.99 for all this and a side salad!

Tried Blue Mound Cafe tonight for the first time. Stopped in for an early dinner. The café is tastefully decorated and has plentiful seating. Our server, Isabella was great! When taking our order, she asked great questions and once the food came out she remained attentive but not intrusive. Everything we tried was delicious. Nothing came out cold. We also found the restaurant to be extremely clean! I saw the reviews about things sliding around on the table and we experienced the same thing. The only difference is that nothing was dirty or "greasy". We found the texture of the table tops caused the sliding and it was not the end of the world. We will definitely be back!

Food was good and the portions were reasonable but a little pricey. Then again, in these days I can't really fault them for it. $4.50 for a small side serving of gravy for my son's chicken fried steak... Service was great! Our server was very attentive and very accommodating. She was always checking up on us, making sure we had all our drinks topped off and everything we needed. The place used to be Oldwest Cafe and they've made a lot of updated changes inside.

My veggie omelette with jalapeño peppers, hash browns, the pancake we split and hubbub Mr. Porky omelette.

Outstanding place! The place is super clean with a cute decor that makes you feel like you are in a small town on vacation! The food was delicious and I had to take half of my veggie omelette and hash browns home. My husband indulged in the Mr. Porky omelette and we split a buttermilk pancake which melts in your mouth! Arlington peeps, if you haven't been to this awesome local restaurant then you are missing out! Home cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner all at a good price and served with friendly and attentive service!

Chicken, fried steak, mashed potatoes, buttered, corn, mac & cheese. All top notch, and some of the best I've ever had all across-the-board.

I don't live in Arlington and just recently moved from Dallas to Ft Worth. While looking at properties in Arlington for the day, this looked like a great stop. The reviews were mostly strong and the pictures I could see reminded me of my favorite Dallas steak fix, Bob's Chophouse on Lemmon. It doesn't have that vintage, chic atmosphere sadly, but it is old TX, steakhouse, 80's style. Colby asked if we wanted a menu and I said yes. He brought one for us both. I asked if they had any happy hour specials which is mentioned often in their reviews. He haughtily informed me that, "They don't do happy hour" and then giggled. Yes, giggled, the only other description is snickered. We ordered a Tito's Dirty Martini and Guinness and decided to stay anyway. He served my martini slushee and a good pour on the Guinness. He simply never came back. Everyone else had nuts and their orders taken. He avoided us as if we had the Bubonic plague. After his pointed non-service, I dropped my credit card, he snatched it and dropped the check. Obviously, I won't be back but I think that was the entire point of his service.

Have been back since then. Talk about your corner hole in the wall type places. It's located in the middle of an L shaped strip building. Inside is clean, and spacious. Nothing fancy here, but plenty of tables and a few booths. They have a covered outside patio, which might even be fully enclosed, with some pool tables. The bar location is on the back wall, with lots of seating. Full bar, with a reasonable amount of draft beers, and several good ones along with the normal commercial swill. I sat at the bar both times, and got great service. First time I did the usual and checked out the salsa and queso. Both were good and didn't taste like pre made stuff. If it was, well they picked a couple of winners. The serving was more than ample, more then I could eat over the course of the visit. Second time I went back, I was going to make a point to try the onion rings since they looked so good in the pics. As I was looking at the menu I noticed they had a Montecristo sandwich. As I've mentioned before, I have yet to find anything that even remotely comes close to the holy grail of MC sandwiches, the one and only made by Bennigan's. Of course, I ordered it, and the onions rings. I'm happy to say the MC here is the closest I've ever come to find. It was really good, and the jam served with it was also pretty dead on. It was a little nasty like it should be, but not as greasy as it should be, and I enjoyed the hell out of it. The onion rings were really good, even if the batter was flaking off a bit. Anyway, I like the place, wish I could drag myself out more. Been customers here every time I've been, but not as many that should be. They also have a digital jukebox so if you're here and ever hear something bizarre playing, it's probably me. Service and staff have always been very good. They know how to make a pretty good margarita as well, and prices are very good.

Because it was packed when we arrived, the space was fairly loud. Cheyenne was our server and she did great. She knew the menu well and made some suggestions. We had already read the Yelp reviews and sort of knew what we wanted. Two of us shared: - Margarita rocks - Pan con Tomate - Crispy Pork - Jerk Chicken Paella The Pan con Tomate was amazing. Really cool presentation too. The Crispy Pork was real nice. A bit dry due to making it crispy. Really meaty too. The Jerk Chicken Paella was great. Cheyenne told us the jerk seasoning wasn't very spicy. She was right. I would have liked it spicier though but understand the decision to appeal to a broader section of diners. The socarrat was amazing. They make the paella in a small (8"?) cast iron skillet. It made for a perfect caramelization of the rice (socarrat). The dish had jerk seasoned chicken thighs and vegetables. Yum! I would have loved to have the Coconut Cake. But we were full and it was $22. We'll come back to Cafe Americana and try other dishes and the cake!
