One of our top restaurants that we still remember from our trip this year. The weather was dismal and rainy all day, but the restaurant was absolutely charming and lifted our spirits. I loved the decor in the dining area, as it is in a large enclosed patio that is rustic and nautical. The staff are friendly and the food was amazing. After days of eating fried food, we were so grateful to find out that they don't fry their seafood here. Their pan fried haddock is batter but not deep fried, so the amazing flavors of the batter stays on the fish but isn't greasy at all. I also had the Seafood bubbly bake which was so creamy and delicious. We got a pack of their seafood seasoning to bring home so we could extend the 'visit' later. I would definitely come back to eat here again. Reservations highly recommended as they are popular with both locals and tourists alike. read more

Kept coming across this, and, after biking much of the National Park, this was just down the hill, and sounded perfect. It was. Got there around 3p, so between lunch and dinner crowds. Waitress was willing to give advice, always appreciated. Ended up with mussels, classic prep. Delicious, perfectly cooked. It was a generous serving. Halibut was fresh caught that morning, and recommended by the waitress. It was amazing, like eating a perfectly cooked (fish) steak. Always come here when I visit the island. Food is always second to none. Atmosphere and service are always great. It is pricey but worth every penny and still not as pricey as the sub par food at the nearby all you can eat buffet. I will return again and again. Advice: it's very busy, so avoid peak times and join the wait list before you leave to drive here and you might be able to avoid the wait. When I came here in a Thursday night recently, we were a party of six and no wait list at 4:00pm when we departed (4:30 ETA) for an early dinner. 4:15 we checked again on the way and added to wait list and we were forth in line. 4:28 we got a text that our table was ready so we waited less than 1 min when we arrived at 4:30. They were busy at that time, but all six of us agreed that this was the best Meal by far on the island. read more

Food was alright not what I was expecting. Not happy with the service. We had our name at 1:30 on waiting list for supper which was staring at 4 pm and were told if we go back at 4 we can be seated right away. We were back sharp at 4 but almost whoever came in were taken inside or were sent to the pre restaurant (which I will explain at the end of my review) And after 25 min and asking 4 times and getting upset we were taken inside beside washroom . During the whole time we were asked only once to see if we need anything.we had salmon which had parasites .the lobster was ok but only half a lobster . Linguine was salty but ok.Food here is over rated.Oyster was good but lobster roll was cold we had better one in NB. The thing about this restaurant that was questionable was anyone no matter when arrived were told 40 min wait and they had a side open space that were offered to everyone to seat and eat /drink while waiting ,which we did and we paid 80$ already for 6 oyster(21$) a lobster roll and a beer. This place is full of people and they don't take reservation. We went there at 1:30pm on Wednesday and told the wait is about 40mins (they use yelp waiting system, and you can cancel it anytime), after all it's not so bad because we went to the beach nearby to kill time. We sat down and ordered mussels, chef selection Pasta with scallop and bacon, seafood chowder grill cheese for the kids, and blue mussel lager. Service is excellent, portion is great and lots of seafood considered the price is more expensive than others, but it is quite salty or rich maybe because they put a lot of spice together. 1 star is deducted from there. Steam mussel highly recommend, it's very fresh. View is gorgeous and I love deco inside the restaurant. read more

The crème de la crème of seafood from all the places I sampled during my maritime tour. This is a very cute restaurant about 30 minutes from the Anne of Green Gables museum most tourists visit during their PEI stay. My cousins and I split the seafood chowder poutine (my favorite of everything we had), 2 lobster rolls, and a half dozen oysters (the most underwhelming but is just the nature of oysters in general in my opinion). Everything was fresh, timely, and appropriately portioned. It was also a nice day and the patio seating added the touch of whimsy that made this meal memorable. read more

Every dish we ordered was seasoned simply but well so the seafood could really shine. Some of the nicest staff as well. I can't say enough good things about this experience. From the greeting at the front to the dessert and coffee, everything was terrific. There is a camaraderie among the staff that was obvious. The food was well prepared and the portions were just right. We're big on sharing across the table so we get a taste of everything. The Rustico Bay oysters we delicious and the two sauces were a nice addition. The local mussels were in a perfect broth that begged for a soup spoon! We walked away tonight deeply disappointed in this restaurant's approach to seating and honesty with customers. - They do not accept reservations, only a waitlist. - Upon arrival, we were told the wait would be 30 minutes. That sounded reasonable. - We then watched as large groups came in and seemed to get priority. Smaller parties like ours were shuffled into separate queues and consistently delayed. - Locals who namedropped people already inside were promised the next available table, regardless of where they were in line. - A group that arrived late was immediately promised the next table after apologizing for missing their time. - After 45 minutes, we were told to expect another 30 minutes or more. We left. Minutes later, we received a message saying our table was ready. When we returned, people were people sitting there (at the table) ordering dessert. - Nearly 90 minutes later, while already driving away, we got a text that our table was "ready." The most frustrating part was the inconsistency. We repeatedly heard the hostess quote wait times of 30, 60, 90, even 120 minutes--back-to-back with no logic or buildup. Each explanation was blamed on "the system," but as someone who has co-owned and co-developed point-of-sale systems for hospitality, I can say with confidence that either their software is badly misconfigured or they are simply not being truthful. In contrast, we went to Chez Yvonne instead. It was far less pretentious, the staff were straightforward, and the service was prompt and friendly. I don't usually give 1-star reviews. The vast majority of mine are 5-star, some are 4-star, and only very rarely do I leave a one-star rating. Unfortunately, this experience earned it. The food may be good, but the disrespect shown to customers waiting outside is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this restaurant and am actively discouraging friends who plan to visit the area from wasting their time here. read more
