Fun experience with friends for dinner & drinks and we'll all be going back. Large bar seating, exceptional drinks (no happy hour needed), quick service, fresh seafood and larger than average rolls. My guy and I shared 3 rolls (see pictures) and couldn't finish it due to size. One of our friends had teriyaki chicken and was very pleased with that as well. Blue Ocean has become our go-to Sushi. We traditionally had gone to another "blue" sushi place, but this one is now where we go. The service is fast and great. Today we had sushi and some rolls. The tuna, yellow tail, and salmon were very good. The texture was smooth and fresh. The Mt Fuji roll is our favorite roll. Anyone we take here loves it. read more

The good here was so good. Mind you we went with a party of 16 so the server was busy but he did his best to keep up and called for help when he needed it. He made sure to tell us their drinks were strong. While I didn't have one, those that did said that was 100% true. Definitely a place to go back to for both food and drinks. read more

Our go to sushi restaurant. We have been to Many Others and the freshness doesn't compare. Everything is good! Appetizers- finger shrimps, spring rolls, pork egg rolls, monkey brain and edamame are amazing Sushi rolls: mt fugi, damn good roll, volcano roll, tuna tower, rainbow roll... all amazing! Kids chicken nuggets are better than Chick-fil-a! There desserts?! The brownie and ice cream, delicious! But don't even get me started on the crème brûlée!! We have to get two because my husband and I just can't share! They are too good!!! Her Pecan pie is seasonal but when she has it?! It's a little piece of southern comfort! Will never go here again. A few years ago, we walked in and were told that it would be a little bit of a wait so we walked over to the bar and got seated and the owner's wife were the manager lady whoever that old lady is that's been there forever ignored us. We waited nearly an hour after she continued to seat other people. I wasn't crazy about her attitude a few other times I had been in, but after that evening, I will never ever go back. read more

I have lived two minutes from Blue Ocean for 8 years. Last Thursday I finallyyyyy made it in. The restaurant was packed and busy for a Thursday night. From families to business colleagues the restaurant had it all. The ambiance is beautiful with a sushi bar, fish tank and dark colored tones. Our waiter was very helpful. We ordered the crunchy rolls, lone star rolls, spring rolls and chicken teriyaki. I loved the whale shaped rice and the flavor of the chicken teriyaki was great! My husband said the sushi was some of the best he has ever had. I wasn't a huge fan of the spring rolls but the peanut sauce that came with it was great. The food is mediocre but the fried rice is excellent. The atmosphere and settings in the restaurant has a nice ambience with extremely dim lights. The staff themselves are lovely but the owner is an unpleasant person who is rude to the staff. The sushi itself is subpar for the price. I would post photos but the lighting in the restaurant just masks it's quality. Go somewhere else unless you have money to waste and want to be sad. read more

Worst costumer service ever! The waitress was so rude. I don't know what was going on with her, but she raised her voice when she took our order. I asked her a simple question about how spicy was the dish that I was going to order and didn't have any patience to explain to me or recommended me another dish to order. Besides that, she never checked on us if we needed something else, didn't refill our glasses with water and never said "you are welcome" when I said thank you to her. I was skeptical because of the rating and then I looked hard and realized that the stars fell because of customer service, the food was great! And lemme tell you, my waiter and the waitress for the table next to us were nothing but polite. Idk if they rectified their ways or there was a change in staff but the problem has been fixed. So, with the trendy ambiance, cool switching tables (square to circle), good hosts and great fresh food this place deserves 5. Give it a go and have a good meal and help their rating. If a business tries to correct their issues I believe in forgiving. Came here for lunch with my BFF. Atmosphere was very clean and sleek. Lots of variety on the menu. Had the seaweed salad and also ordered the grilled pork rolls wrapped in rice paper. Seaweed salad was on point. The grilled pork rolls had bean sprouts which I'm not a fan of, so I picked them out. But the rolls were delicious and flavorful. There was something crunchy inside which was a nice surprise. Looking for riceless sushi options, I picked the Kim's Tuna roll. Larger pieces than I expected and very happy with all of my selections. Ordered takeout from here a few days ago. I got the beef fried rice and the shrimp fried rice. The portion sizes are absolutely HUGE; I could get about 3-4 full dinner servings for each entree. The quality of this fried rice is so on point; this was my mom and I's favorite fried rice in the area when we first discovered it 8 years ago. I feel like they put butter in it which makes the rice so much more flavorful. The beef is also very tender and overall I'd totally recommend. read more

Hands down the best sushi I've had in the DFW metroplex. Blue Ocean easily beats out the "top" places in downtown Dallas and does so with perfect ambiance and charm out in the suburbs. I love this place. I used to hate hibachi until this place cause of the sauces they use. I get the veggie hibachi and add the lemon grass and garlic sauce on top with sriracha. I had dinner with a group of friends one Friday night. Crowd were mixture of all people and ages. This place is expensive for what it is. Everything on the menu is overpriced. Pho was about $10. That's outrageous. I didn't really want anything from their menu except an ahi tuna. That was the only thing I got. It was pretty good, I don't know if it was $16 good. Blue Fish is better and even that is cheaper than here. This would not be my choice to go eat next time. I can get far better food for cheaper prices else where. read more

This Japanese place is just right next to my house, in the corner between HWY 121 and MacArthur Blvd. Nice Japanese bar atmosphere inside decorating with blue lights all over. Great place to have some drinks and hang out with friends. We were waiting for seated, and our waitress was so nice and friendly. Food menu here is variety. They have Japanese appetizers, sushi rolls, dinner dishes, hibachi, and drinks. We didn't start off with appetizers or anything because we were just so hungry at this point. My boyfriend ordered Cajun Rolls and I had Devil Rolls. Good portion but slightly pricey for what you pay. Cajun rolls were good, got a little spicy creamy taste. Devil rolls were just alright to me. They had honey mustard on the top to make flavor. So I liked his more than mine to be honest :D Otherwise, it was such a good dinner, just a little overprice. I wasn't disappointed or anything.
