Around closing time I got a call from the owner saying, "Hey, your food is ready. We close at 8:30. Can you come grab it?" I apologized and said I would be there in five minutes. When I pulled up, the shop was fully closed. Lights off. Doors locked. And there he was outside in about 30 degree weather holding my bag. He walked it right to my car. I apologized again and told him I felt terrible for keeping him late. Without hesitation, without attitude, without even a hint of frustration, he just smiled and said, "No problem. You are my neighbor. That is what neighbors do." That stopped me in my tracks. He had every reason to be annoyed. He could have left. He could have canceled the order. Instead, he stayed late, waited in the cold, and treated me like a friend. In a time where people feel more divided and rushed than ever, that kind of simple human kindness is rare and really meaningful. And here is the thing, this is not a one off. Every time I come here, they ask how I am doing and they actually listen to the answer. Whether it's the person making the sushi, running the register, or the owner himself, I have never once felt rushed or like an inconvenience. They genuinely care. As for the food, it is exactly what Sushi Go is supposed to be: consistently good, fresh, affordable sushi done right. You are not going for a formal omakase experience, and that is not what they are trying to be. They deliver solid quality, fast, and reliably, and they do it extremely well. The ahi tower is awesome, and we have never had a bad meal here. They absolutely get the food right, and that matters. But just as important is how you are treated when you walk through the door, and Sushi Go gets both perfectly.
