The staff here were so polite and friendly that the food could have been terrible and I would have gone back because of the staff . Really like the service, BBQ, and sides here. Think I'll come here regularly. There's beer, too. Not too fatty, not over-seasoned. The staff gave off good vibes: friendly, regular, family folk. Lean brisket: not fatty at all, and wasn't dry. Perfectly flavorful, not greasy, lean brisket. Turkey: surprisingly moist. Not too salty. Brine was well-balanced. German sausage: yes. Good. More please. Not greasy. Not too salty. Shiner beans: good. Not overly seasoned. Pairs well with bbq. Hard to screw up beans. Mac and cheese: macaroni was perfectly cooked; not soggy. Right amount of cheese. BBQ sauce: standard sweet smokey. String beans: good. Personal Preference (biases): Fatty, overly seasoned foods taste great, but eating food like that leaves me feeling disgusted. I eat meat sans the fat. I feel especially cheated when my meat has more visible fat than meat (even bacon). Don't like when seasoning overtakes the food's base taste (eg, steak should taste like meat, not a salt block). I'll happily pay premium for good food that I can't make at home. read more

Where to start...20 mins to have someone come to the table. Admittedly, they were severely short-staffed. The service overall was good, can't fault the server for all the hustling she had to do. Now for the food...horrible. Brisket was dry, sausage was extremely dry with a terrible flavor; almost crumbly. Chicken, touted as "chicken breast" was sliced up and included dark meat. Beans - great flavor but cold. Cole slaw...it seriously tasted like they broke out a package of premade cabbage from Walmart (no offense Waltons), dry, no vinegar, oil, seasoning, nada. Just chopped, dried cabbage with a hint of shredded carrots. The prices are ridiculously high. I get it...supply chain issues. The cherry on our figurative sundae was the 5 inch coarse black hair mixed in with the chicken. Disgusting. Ever heard of hairnets, caps, quality control? This was our second visit. First was 3 months ago. Original experience was similar (minus the hair) so we tried to give it one more shot. There are a number of very positive reviews. No doubt the experiences shared were genuine. Unfortunately, ours was completely different. We will never darken their doors again. read more

This place was somewhere on me and my husbands radar for a bit but we unfortunately never got around to it. We are so mad at ourselves for taking so long to get here. I got an adult cherry limeade and a patron margarita for drinks. They were silent but deadly. Both my husband and I got a Barron plate that came with two meats. My husband the chicken and brisket with green beans and shiner pinto beans. He devoured it and I got to sneak in some bites. I normally don't do brisket and I loved it. I got the jalapeño sausage and Turkey with Mac and cheese and creamed corn. Their meat was delicious alone but pair it with their homemade bbq sauce. Heaven. It's a bar after hours but if you get a chance I would highly encourage a stop. The pit master is a sweetheart and came and checked on us before and during the meal. The nachos were also insanely good. Definitely go here if you want some great bbq. They have really gone sky high on all of their prices. I can understand a dollar or $2 but their $10.50 plate is now $15.95!!! Not only that, but tea is also now $3.50!!!! Just beyond ridiculous since it costs less than $1 to make a whole gallon of tea! How exorbitant! I thought other places charging $3 was bad, but $3.50, they might as well just shut this damn place down. I guess they are trying to make up their profits from hardly any people coming to eat. Saturday afternoon at 1pm, they were dead and not only that, it took over 15 minutes to even get a waitress to show up. Inflation has gone up but not enough to warrant a 50% increase!! Brisket is incredibly greasy, bunch of flies flying around everywhere. Ordered a margarita which they never brought, when asked for refund they gave us less of the amount we paid for. When asked why we were told "we rang it up as a basic margarita", even though we paid they full amount of the margarita. Every plate on the menu is delicious! They even have drinks too! If you go on the right day (they have daily specials,) I highly recommend the Chicken Fried Steak and the Brisket! Was average at best with small portions. I know good bbq and this wasn't it. Everything was bland and place was empty on a Sat.
