I started coming here a few months back because I needed a new place to do my laundry as the machines in my apartment complex weren't being well maintained. I came shortly after they reopened as One Planet Laundry and towards the end of them finalizing their new remodel. From the very beginning I was lucky enough to meet a consistent and friendly attendant. Ms. Carol has such a fantastic attitude and personality and makes everyone feel welcomed while also doing her best to ensure the location is clean and well maintained. She makes you feel like you're a part of her family and always gives you a smile and a warm hello. It makes it so much easier to consistently come here to take care of my laundry. The price point is a bit higher if you're coming in on the weekend but if you can manage coming in during the week it's very solid value especially considering the machines given you some free dry time as well. I've enjoyed coming here for the last few months and will hopefully continue to do so - that's guaranteed if Ms. Carol sticks around. read more

This place. What can I say? Well, this place got a glow up! It's a laundromat at the end of the day but damn it's a nice one. It hasn't always been that way and I'm far from being a regular here, but it seems that they did some serious work to turn this into a nice place. New machines, a new sitting area, and just an overall vibe that makes it feel like a bit more than a place to wash and fold your clothes. In my case it's my sheets and comforters, but even with very little time spent here I'm glad that it's clean, improved, and enjoyable. Nicely done, Blue Planet. read more

This review is for the new laundromat in this location One Planet Laundry. Blue Planet Laundry was here for years and basically stopped servicing their machines... All of us in the neighborhood were quickly out of luck as it spiraled downhill. The new owners of One Planet scrapped the whole place and rebuilt everything with new machines and a clean, inviting vibe. It's sad One Planet inherited the bad reviews from Blue Planet but fear not, it's been so nice doing laundry at the NEW One Planet Laundry. This is a one stop shop for doing laundry yourself or fluff and folds. The staff is welcoming and helpful with all needs, the machines are well serviced, and the prices are affordable. Go to another laundry mat! They just remodeled and placed new machines that require you to purchase a blue planet laundry card. No quater machines anymore. Since I walked in I've been harassed by the workers. 1st to tell me that their frame was freshly painted. Next when I put my clothes in the washer the worker made me take off my headphones to tell me that I can't overload the washer. There was so much room on the top of the washer. So she had to double check. I used to be able to use both big machines and one medium one and dry for $40MAX! now the big machines are $17.50 each and the smaller/medium ones are $8.50. definitely can't afford to wash here anymore. read more

this place is wonderful nice and clean not expensive to wash , many good eating places to get a snack. close to vons and sdccu. however if you go to the restroom be careful. the metal on that door is unfinished which caused me to cut myself on my left pinky finger. the owner is fully awear of what occured. went to doctor and was given a tetanus. dr. stated the cut not in a good place it's on my knuckle where my finger bends. dr. cleaned it up very well what ever she put on it really burned. go visit this place you will enjoy and there employees are very nice and helpful suzette read more

Just wanted to come on here and express how I feel towards this employee named Larry. He is very rude towards customers and invades privacy while me and other customers are doing laundry. He is very unprofessional and does not respect anyone inside that laundry Mat. He constantly goes to people's laundry area and makes everyone feel uncomfortable and rushed out of the laundry mat. This is my 3rd time having an issue with him and he does not seem to care. I hope this employee is removed and replaced with another nice lady . I DO NOT recommend anyone to do laundry there while Larry is present. He also made a smart remark "will I have enough washers for you" due to me having 3 bags of laundry. He also yelled at me saying I couldn't take the laundry basket when it was NOT being used at all and them being available for ALL customers. Meghan was extremely helpful showing me what machines to use, where to get my quarters and putting the rugs in the washers. You are so lucky to have her as an employee, she was super friendly, quick to assist and I watched her give this wonderful service to others who came in to do their laundry. An unexpected situation led us to need to utilize a laundromat once again. Since the owner had contacted me & assured me that things would certainly be better taken care of. Wow! What a shocking, filthy, unmanaged array of are you kidding me. So 3 minutes in the dryer is .25¢ outrageous. So many washers were out of order. Filth & I do mean filth everywhere. Everywhere. We took our laundry back to our vehicle & left. Close to home or not, it's not worth it. Inspectors should shut this place down & fine the owners oodles of $$$. Rarely an attendant on site. When you call you get a generic voicemail. Machine #6 just ate my $6, poured the water and soap on my clothes, then stopped with an error code. Had to pull everything out soaked and covered in soap and pay another $6 to wash the load. Across from me another customer had just put in money in a different machine only to get an error code and have to reload and pay for another machine also. Nobody here to help us at all. I always come here to do my laundry. I've never had any problems here and the staff is very friendly if you have any questions or need help with anything. Original review: Should've listened to my boyfriend when he told me not to use the Fluff N Fold services here, but I really wanted our comforter cleaned and it is too big for our machines. I went to pick up the comforter the next day (this morning), it was still completely damp! Who knows how long it was sitting in a plastic bag like that... Pros: I enjoy this laundromat because it's generally clean and plenty of washers/dryers available (I've never had to wait on someone to get done with a machine). The staff is incredibly polite and have always been courteous to me. Cons: Their machines are a little on the expensive side, they only take coins, and the posted hours for the fluff n'fold service are not correct. I've been by multiple times to drop off/pick up and no one is there during the posted hours on the outside of the door, nor on the hand written portion for Saturday and Sunday on the inside of the door. read more

This is one of my favorite laundromats in San Diego. I have been coming to this laundromat on and off over the last ten years (before it was Blue Planet). A few years ago when it changed to Blue Planet they bought all new machines and the place is great. I have never had any clothes ruined in the washers or driers. They added stools and tables to you can sit more comfortably while on your computer or tablet. There are also about 9 chairs on the front wall of the laundromat. There are a few old video games that are great for little kids. The workers here are all very nice and if you experience any problem they fix it immediately. If you run out of detergent there is a Vons within walking distance and there are also plenty of food choices in this shopping center adding to the list of pros for this laundromat. There are only a couple issues I have. The biggest being the prices for drying tends to be higher than most other laundomats. I also wish they had air conditioning. This laundromat gets extremely hot in the summer and there is no cross breeze to cool it down. read more

For how ever long I've been coming here I've always had a lot of trouble when the young associate Michael is working. Whenever I've been here and he's on the clock I've always felt like he's not doing anything, but closing off equipment when the shop doesn't close until 10. I always complain about him to my husband but this time my husband drew the short straw and had the worst encounter ever. After filling the machine with detergent and fabric softener Michael tells my husband that he's closing off the area, it's 7:20 pm at that time. Bryan moves our laundry to another machine and proceeds to add detergent and softener, after watching Bryan load the machine and add quarters Michael asks Bryan to move our clothes again. Absolutely ridiculous, I understand that he wants to go home early on a Sunday but why wait the last minute to ask him to change machines for the second time. Bryan obliges and redos the load elsewhere, our $20 laundry day turned into a $60 one, with having to buy new soap. The quarters never seem to work here so he had to get his money at Woodstock's and when he goes back to put the laundry in the drier they're all used. So Bryan grabs a cart from the closed off area, Michael confronts Bryan and asked him if he took it from the side, he says yes. Michael tells Bryan that his boss will fire him if he does that. Mind you Michael is not cleaning at this point, he just closed off areas and Bryan has to wait a whole hour to dry off our wet clothes when the machines on the other side of the shop are completely open. Michael then had the audacity to tell Bryan that he needs to dry our clothes before they close. Ugh hello, all the driers are being used and you're not allowing him to use the rest. Free laundry vouchers will not change the amount of time wasted, we don't want free anything we just want better service, respect and understanding. I will tell every single person I know not to come here and I'll find a new shop that's for sure. read more

Worst laundry mat in the area! Went here only bc I had to go to the bank next door. Literally 90% of the machines are broken. Finally found one that didn't have an out of order sign on it. I put money in one of the giant washers, added detergent, and started the wash, and it started to spin and showed 23 min for the cycle. I went to the bank and came back to find my wash completely dry and an error code on the machine. The door was locked so I could not get my clothes out. There was no attendant present, but there were other service workers here installing new machines, and one of them was nice enough to help me by resetting and restarting the machine. I sat in front of the machine and watched it wash my blankets the whole time and none of the soap was ever dispensed that I had added to it, and it looked like hardly and water was being used. After the entire cycle was done, as I suspected, I took my blankets out and they were completely dry and unwashed in many spots! Literal cat hair and lint on the blankets which should have been washed out. Wth - this place is a dump. So many other laundromats in the area besides this place. There were so many other people here seemingly having a hard time with the soap vending machines and getting any of the washers and dryers to work, too. read more

Lowering my rating due to the following: 1.) There is a very rude Filipino lady that sometimes works here; I only know she's Filipino because I AM Filipino and I can tell by her heavy accent. I came here to wash my clothes one evening and went to Jersey Mike's to get a quick bite to eat. I still had some sandwich leftover; I didn't eat my sandwich inside the place but I brought the bag with me. Realizing that my clothes were still spinning in the wash, I proceeded to use the restroom to wash my hands. She comes straight at me (noticing I had my Jersey Mike's sandwich bag) and asks in a very hostile tone if I was washing my clothes and the restrooms aren't open to the public. When I told her that I WAS waiting for my clothes to be cleaned, she lightened up and let me use the restroom. Granted, I know there are crazy vagrants and loiterers in this area, but come on, I wasn't just going in there without using the machines. ***BTW, I noticed that one yelper stated that the owner had reached out to her trying to excuse this lady for her attitude that particular night when this yelper tried to do her laundry. No offense but this lady has ALWAYS BEEN RUDE every time I've seen her there! Let me tell you I've been to this laundromat enough where I've seen her be rude to every customer who's interacted with her every season over the many years I've lived in San Diego. I usually ignored it and only mentioned it this one time because she was being directly snippy with me. And as someone who is Filipino like she is, I'm really offended (and shall I say disgusted) with her attitude. I understand we all have off-days and I don't know what this lady is going through for her to be acting so miserable, but my god, can you at least try to be happy for just a little bit? I am surprised that the owner of this laundromat puts up with her being there because she is so off-putting. Maybe if her job was actually on the line, she would do an about-face and be a little nicer to customers.*** 2.) I had a yelp check in coupon to get a free detergent. Lady at the counter (different person) told me I couldn't use it (!). What's the point of having the free check-in deal then??? Nicest & Coolest laundry mat I've ever been to. Lots of Machines. They sell laundry soap, dryer sheets and have a fluff & fold service too! It's only 99¢ a lb to have them do it for you and it's all nice and folded neatly with a $15 minimum. The place is clean, right next door to vons & a ton of other places & On top of it all they have wifi and outlets where there are tables and chairs you can sit at to kill some time while doing your laundry. I had been going to this place for years and loved how close it was to so many places. But today I had the worst experience and don't plan on ever coming back. I was trying to use a large load washer for the first time after always using the smaller units. I forgot to put in my work clothes and stopped the machine like I have done with so many others in the past. It stopped the wash and wanted me to pay 4.75 again. There were no warning signs posted anywhere cautioning the customer and I tried to talk to an employee. But all she did was laugh at me and say "oh that's the third person today sorry I can't do anything about that." I couldn't get the 5 dollars I had put for a wash that hadn't even started. I had bought the coins I had saved up for that week and nothing else. So it really hurt my feelings to have an employee laugh and watch me leave as I could no longer wash my clothes. I must say, what I appreciated more than anything was the fact that the owner Chris made an attempt to contact me as soon as the issue was brought to his attention. I would say that my previously bad experience was an isolated case and that it is not in fact how they normally run their business at blue planet. We had a conversation by phone and he explained to me while it is no excuse that the lady who was seemingly grumpy that night had been working there for many years prior to him even owning the place and that she was going through cancer treatment. This was in part the reason why she was acting erratic that night. Aside from helping me understand what was going on and apologizing on her behalf, he offered me as compensation a free wash + fluff & fold service. I'm now giving a 5 star review because its been a few months since that conversation and I just recently brought a ton of clothes in to try out his offer. I must say I'm impressed, it's not a bad deal considering the fact that I got my clothes back the same day, nothing shrunk (my biggest worry), everything was nicely bagged, and lastly the cost was only $11 for a huge amount of clothes (if I had to pay). That's a ton of time and energy I saved not having lug a bunch of wet clothes back home and hang dry them which is what I normally do. All in all, I would definitely use this service again in the future when I'm in a bind or just exhausted.
