I am a decades-long customer and am stopping because the new owner didn't phone me after I asked 3 different employees at 3 different times to have him phone me. I spent over $70 for several items and returned one item for a re-do because it was not cleaned completely. I put cleaners tape on the spots and it was returned without any attempt to re-do, except to have MOST of the cleaners tape removed. Ugh. I walked in at 5:55pm to pick up my bf's clothes and I told the girl at the counter I'd be right back, just needed to grab some clothes out of my car to bring in. I tried walking back in at 6:00pm and got the door shut in face with like 10 garments in my arms. on their website and on Yelp it says they close at 6:30pm. Which is what I thought but I was wronggg. They close at 6pm. My bf has never had an issue with his clothes getting ruined or lost or anything, but yeah, the customer service is subpar. Terrible experience!! The worst by far at any cleaners!! I am warning you please do not come here!! They do not respect customers and the will make a mockery out of you!! I read the reviews and I should have stayed away!! But I wanted to take a leap of faith!! However I got a slap on the face!! I took in my jacket to be cleaned on a Tuesday, showed up Thursday the day it should have been ready and they couldn't find my jacket anywhere!! Ummm... well, this place gets beaten up on Yelp and while my review isn't an attempt to get their star rating higher, it is an honest review from my perspective letting the world know that I found a new cleaner that I had a great experience with. It should be noted, I use dry cleaners only once or twice a year. Price: $14.00 was the cost for one pair of pants, a shirt, a suit coat, and a tie. To me, this is very reasonable. Turnaround time: Dropped off on a Monday and picked up on a Wednesday - easy peasy, a timeline I can appreciate. Quality: I mean, my clothes were clean and they looked good on the model. The model, you ask?! Okay, I was the D-list model. The clothes made me look decent, they looked splendid. One extra comment for Fairlane Cleaners. They are an in-house cleaner, which isn't the case for a lot of cleaners that send your clothes out to be laundered. All of the one-star complaints? Well, I didn't experience any of those issues but it does seem that dry cleaners are the type of business that typically get bad reviews while their happy customers take it for granted... we should change that! read more

A couple months ago I went to a dry cleaners in Hillcrest to take a dress with a sequins design and the price they wanted to charge for cleaning it was ridiculously high. So I held on to it until now that I had a toddler's dress with lace and a long satin dress that all needed to be dry cleaned. Before I left SD last year. This particular dry cleaning service was one of the best. My clothes always came out as expected or better. They only screwed up 1 tie of mine. (I don't recommend them for this particular service) They offer same day service if clothes are in by 10am and you can get them by 5 the latest. I get there at 1 and they can't offer me the service because "they're done with all the loads" so if you can have all of those "before 10" loads done by 1. We to pick up items just before them closing so didn't check items and since there wasnt a note or tag stating stains didnt come out I assumed clothes were good. Got home and was putting them away. I was doing my routinely drop off like usual when the lady at the counter asked me if I had cat hair on my clothes, which I'm sure there were a few hairs from my cat on the clothes, since I own a cat. She continued to tell me that she cannot take my clothes. Cat hair is the reason she's not going to take my clothes!?? I'm going in to get them cleaned, isn't that the whole purpose of taking your clothes to the cleansers!?? I think I realized I should write a review on this place after having just dropped off my dry cleaning up here in NorCal. When I lived in SD this place had a VERY convenient location. Seriously, walking distance. However, I quickly learned that Fairlane cleaners does not really have that much experience in dry cleaning (at least for male clothes?), specifically French cuffs. I dropped off several shirts here while in SD and man...most of it was alright but I found the cuffs all all of the shirts were already FOLDED AND PRESSED, leaving a huge crease on the width of the cuff. It was particularly irritating I guess because I should have noticed before I left, but suffice it to say, I spent a lot of time ironing them straight again afterwards. If I was still in San Diego, I would definitely find somewhere else. read more

I always try to avoid placing last minute deadlines on anyone for anything, because I think it shows a lack of personal planning and inconsideration for others. So I made a point to take a few pair of pants in to be dry cleaned, without a short deadline. Yeah, I got them back in short order and the crease looked sharp enough to slice bread. Kudos to the good people there and their professional service. Disclaimer: I didn't actually get anything cleaned here. I would give one star, but if I were getting something cleaned here, I'd be pleased with the price, so two stars. I came here with my two spirithoods (google them). Basically, they're faux fur hoods, lined with satin or cotton. If you wash them, they can lose their softness, and softness is the #1 reason of having/wearing one. Dry cleaning is the common method of cleaning, and mine were really smelly (of campfire!). So I come in, and spend a few minutes arguing with the woman about how they're meant to be dry cleaned and she insists over and over again dry cleaning will ruin them. She shows me the tag, which she then realizes, says to dry clean. I told her I'll take them somewhere else. I did. Maybe I'll go here for a more regular garment, because it's near my school and cheap. Maybe not. Her demeaner and insistence on being right when she was clearly not is my problem. Sooo disappointed with this place! I picked up a dress, which I had planned on wearing that night, and when I took the plastic off, there were multiple spots on it! It looked like some kind of gel dried on it. I called the dry cleaner and the girl said maybe it came from someone else's garment. She said that if there are plastic tags in the clothes it could melt of go on to other clothing! What?!? I've never heard of such a thing! So she told me to bring it in to the manager, which I did and bshe gave me the look of "yeah right, you're lying"...WOW. She said they'd try getting it out with a smirk on her face. My clothes come back stained and when I was there one minute after seven they couldn't possibly give me my cleaning, even though there were 4 people finishing up. Ruined my shirts. Took in my dress shirts to be laundered and pressed. They came back ruined with small splatters of bleach. This was on multiple shirts, probably $300 worth. When I returned, they took my shirts to "show the launderer" who would get back to me. They didn't ask for the value of the shirts, didn't provide any documentation They were taking them, but they were ruined so I didn't care I was never going to see them. Went to pick my clothes up today and turns out their machine destroyed two of my favorite shirts!!!! I was given a form to file claim so I can get reimbursed for my shirts. First of all I don't remember how much I paid for those shirts. Secondly, I was planning on wearing those shirts for my upcoming Vegas bachelor's party trip! Now I have to go out and buy new shirts to complete my outfit, thanks a lot farelane! I've been taking clothes there for a while. Recently I pointed out some heavier soiling like wring around the collar and dirt from being sweaty (not stains). I took it - along with several others home when they were done and hung them in my closet. A few days later when I went to wear the shirt it looked almost as if it hadn't been cleaned, just ironed. So, when I had some more shirts to take in I took it back, still on the hanger but not with the receipt. The lady said "it's not our policy to take things back without the receipt". I was stunned. She said she'd make an exception this one time but I pushed it a little. "Do you really think I'd try to cheat you for a couple of bucks by bringing back a shirt you didn't clean to see if I could get away with it?" Again - "it's our policy" Well here's MY policy: When someone doesn't do what I paid for (in advance) and then refuses to make it right because of "their policy" MY policy is to never do business with them again and describe the transaction on Yelp! I was so upset i wouldnt take them back. I told them they needed to redo them. And they said because i chose to dry clean (not laundry) this is how it usually turns out, dirty and wrinkly. Ive had my sheets dry cleaned from them before and it was perfectly clean and pressed and wrinkly free! Obviously quality here has declines since ive been gone. For the woman to straight out lie to me was appalling. But i made sure for them to dry clean it again. When i came back to pick it up, THEY COULDNT FIND MY SHEETS! Mind you, they have had my sheets for 3 weeks now. How do you lose a king size duvet?! I was furious. They couldnt get their shit together at all. The manager told me he would pay for my duvet sheets. My sheets cost $400. He said he could only offer me $100 and when i declined he started to raise his voice at me. Hello, im the only one who should be upset here. I didnt want his money. I wanted to file a claim, but the manager didnt know what to do or how to do that either. It took them a couple of hours to try to track down where my sheets were. They called me. Turned out it was there all along. When i received it back, it smelled soooo bad and it was still wrinkly with a hole and a tag in my $400 sheets. My sheets went from bright white with a smooth satin feel to it feeling like it was washed and dried on a heat hotter than the sun, it damaged my sheets. Also they really dont offer their same day service for everything, only like tshirts. And if lucky, you'll get it by the end of the day. The owner Tom Mullin is such a horrible little man, i will never go here again. i took in a blouse to be dry cleaned (per the tag) 2 months ago, when they ruined it - because they admitted to laundering it instead of dry cleaning it) they said they'd try to fix it. Then they said they couldn't fix it. The owner spent 2 months avoiding me and my calls, and never made the attempt to contact me despite his staff swearing up and down that he would. When I finally found him in his shop, I started asking how it was possible for the blouse to have been cleaned by them previously without a problem, and this time the ellaborate pleated/ruffled collar was ruined and ironed out and flattened. He said that he had no idea, and didn't know what else they could have done differently. When i told him I thought that they were professionals and this was their expertise, he told me I was full of **** and proceeded to tell me that I was "so stupid" and that my brain wasn't working properly.
