This review is for takeout. We placed a phone order. The person taking the order was super friendly. I normally don't like ordering over the phone because the person on the other end always seems rushed, but that was not the case. So A+! We were told the food would be ready in 15-20 minutes. We picked up at exactly 15 minutes and then a 5 minute drive home. When we got home, the food was barely room temperature. The cheese fries were one giant congealed chunk. Everything here seems like it has promise. The grilled chicken sandwich tasted good. The burger tasted good. The cheese fries were fresh cut fries with a generous amount of cheese. The side salad was quite large and also good. However, the food was not hot and did not travel well. I guess my bottom line on this place is that it's probably really good if you eat it fresh at the restaurant but it is not good for takeout. read more

Wow, that was one mighty fine burger. The place had a cool vibe with burger joint decor, lots of busy staff, cool stickers everywhere and lots of tables. Come in and grab paper menus to the right of the door and place your order at the counter. Pay attention to the number they give you because there are red numbers over the kitchen area that shows what is ready. No one calls numbers so pay attention. They had a dozen different flavored teas which was cool. I had an Arnold Palmer vibe with Peach & Coconut and enjoyed it. I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon. Cooked perfectly and tasted just as good. The onion rings were EXACTLY as I love them. Really well done there. The place has lots of staff and tables for a reason. We came for an early weekday dinner but I bet it could get packed on weekends and later at night. read more

Nice place to grab a burger and homemade fries and onion rings! The burger patty could have had more seasoning and the mustard was a bit overpowering. I do not prefer shredded lettuce on burgers. The bacon was not worth the extra cost so skip the bacon add on unless you like extremely crispy bacon that's been sitting in grease. My husband loved the variety of flavored teas they offer. They also have merch if you're in need of a souvenir tshirt or cap. We would eat here again. read more

Blue Sky used to be a favorite of mine when I lived in the Yellow City. I still think the burgers are good and that it's a nice establishment, however, the last time I ate here when in town, I was reminded the burgers are super greasy. Not a huge issue but I felt sick to my stomach afterwards. Maybe my body just isn't used to that kind of grease anymore because I rarely eat out. This is a restaurant that is riding on its laurels. It used to be better but I can't begin to say how disappointed we were in the food and the ambience now. Let's start with the burger -- $10.69 for a basic cheeseburger that doesn't include fries! Add a small order of fries and you're looking at a $15 tab for a counter service restaurant. I can pay about the same -- or less!! -- for a restaurant that has a person bring me my burger and fries and is nice to me. Now let's talk about the onion ring/fries combination that was all but inedible. The onion rings were presented in one giant clump that had been in the fryer way too long and looked like something that should have been thrown out, not served. The fries were ok, but considering we paid $6.59 for the order (only comes in large) we basically threw away $3.50. The onion rings should have been called "burnt onion ball". Now, let's add the incredibly bad country music blaring over any effort to talk and it's a place that I will NEVER go back to unless I'm feeling like mistreating myself and anyone with me. read more

Stopped here for dinner after a long drive from Fort Worth on the way to Albuquerque. My wife had a cheeseburger with fries and I the chicken fried steak with fries and extra gravy. Burger was nice and juicy. The thin chicken fried steak was fork tender with a well seasoned exterior. Fries and gravy were very good as well. I gave it a 3 star because the cheeseburgers and my fried chicken sandwich tasted good. But this place is way overpriced for the quantity and quality especially the Chicken tenders and fries platter for $11.90. It was as small as a kids plate. And it was just ok. It tasted like sonic tenders :( We got sweet potato fries and it tasted funky. Onion rings were greasy and just ok. Fries ok. Green chile cheeseburger ok. My son said Whataburger was better. Goodness! 1 burger here is for the price of a Whataburger meal for the same taste and quality. No bueno. Sorry. It's the same sized burger as Whataburger. Just expected more for the price. Sweet tea was good. Sweet. My kid's mini cheeseburger was cute though. 2 little ones. Enough for her. Overall sorta disappointed. Second time here I went through the drive through after calling in an order for 2 hot dogs. I arrived when they asked me to. I drove off and the hot dogs were nasty, way overdone, wrinkled. This is a wonderful restaurant located just off highway 40 in Amarillo, TX. They use paper menus and have food for everyone. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well. They are very very clean - the floors, the drink counters and their bathrooms are spotless!! First - their burgers are amazing!! They ask you how you want it cooked - nice! Bun can get a little wet if too much stuff is added but because it comes in a basket and on wax paper, you can use your fork if necessary. They have a wide assortment of foods on the menu and topping for your burger so you can get your favorites. See their menu -- They have three kinds of fries and onion rings too. The sweet potato fries are the best I've ever had anywhere - they are thin and crispy and very very flavorful! No brown sugar or cinnamon needed!
