Need to preface this by saying I am not a coffee lover at all. I'm neurodivergent and caffeine is my other medicine, but I'm the type of person who needs to dump a bunch of stuff in the coffee so I can't really taste it. So I can't tell you how well they make this or that. I've enjoyed mochas here a lot though, as well as teas and even hot chocolate a time or two. It's a small shop, so during prime commuting hours it gets busy and a bit cramped. But I've never had to wait super long. Food is also good here too, they make some killer sandwiches and breakfast items, if on the bougier side, which explains the price point. Prices ARE very high here, is the thing. I mean it's FiDi. Which is why I can't justify coming here every day that I'm in the office. Not en esta economía. But when I do want a treat, they are always a solid spot, and it's nice to support a local business that cares about doing things the right way, versus the huge impersonal chains in the area. read more

When I have room in the budget for a splurge, I stop by Blue Spoon Coffee for brekkie. Today I had a BEC on a cinnamon raisin bagel and it was delicious nicely toasted. They are always smiley and pleasant at this location, which makes me always tip when I can. Small space, pretty for a quick breakfast/lunch pick up or a quick coffee chat with someone special. They have so many sandwiches options and their coffee is amazing! read more

Tiny little cafe with a big breakfast menu. Big portions with good ingredients. Egg, Cheddar, Pork Sausage Sandwich: If you're ravenous at breakfast, this is the sandwich for you! Two pork sausage patties and two eggs! A soft bun and lots of cheese. I actually felt this was a tad too porky for me, since there was a texture/flavor imbalance where I didn't get to truly appreciate the other ingredients. Grabbed a delicious gingerbread latte here recently - I had walked past it quite a few times and never had the excuse to go in! The gingerbread latte was good, as was the cold brew. Service was fairly quick and friendly and it had a neighborhood feel inside. The interior is small so not too much room to eat (it's often busy when I walk by) unless you get lucky - would say there's about 2 tables and a counter, but when the weather is warmer they sometimes have a table or two outside too. I work in the financial district and it's a bit of a hobby to find new places to eat lunch. It's a very dynamic neighborhood and among all the obvious joints there are a few real gems. Blue Spoon is one such gem. I discovered it by walking past the window on the way to Taim (serviceable and delicious - but cold and assembly line chain around the corner) and seeing someone sitting at the blue spoon counter eating a delicious sandwich on what looked like amazing bread. Amazing bread is not something I see a lot of down here so I went in and ordered a BLT ($11.95) I think it was the best BLT I have ever had. For real. Inside I realized that the baguette was actually from Balthazar- and the bacon was super thick and super crispy which I love. On following occasions I have gotten the cheddar/avocado sandwich. Also fresh and delicious and affordable. If you go early (11:55am) you can snag a seat at one of two small tables or one of two small counters. The music selection was great and the counter people were super friendly and smiling (not that I think every counter person should be forced to smile, but it just stuck with me and made me feel human for a moment!) It's a small cafe and there's only two tables and a bar seating area. The baristas are friendly and the coffee is decent. This place is always busy but was quick to grab and go. This cafe is a great spot to stop by when you're in the area. It is near the Fulton Street station and across the street from the Pearson testing center. Staff are super friendly and are always in a good mood. Although the cafe is tiny, seats open up quick. There are also stools lining one side of the windows. I've tried their toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, jasmine green tea, and cranberry scone. Their bagels are one of the best and on par with Brooklyn bagels! I'm a bagel connoisseur and won't finish them if they aren't good. I devoured this! The smear isn't just a smear either and I love that they do not skimp on cream cheese. The cranberry scone was my least favorite. It was too dry, but the flavor was there. I'll definitely stop by when I'm in the area again and order their bagel!
