ORDER My friends and I ordered lots of rolls and specialty nigiris including the crunchy red, truffle salmon, hawaiian roll, cabo roll, godzilla bomb, tataki maki,, lion king, spanish fly, and the beach. All the ingredients are such good quality and the rolls are made with care. For every single roll, the ratio of sauce to rice to fish was perfect! Everything was fresh and delicious! VIBES The place is very spacious. Lots of seating from tables to higher tables, bar, and more. The decorations are like Japanese inspired coupled with modern and vintage elements (like the brick wall and Japanese arts). Super chill place and great for hanging out with large groups! SERVICE Service was pretty great overall! Food came out fast and nothing to complain about!

Blue Sushi is definitely my top fave sushi restaurant & was pleased with my visit to the uptown Dallas location. All day happy hour on Sunday? Count me in! They recently revamped their HH & it is one of the best - plethora of food and drinks. It was a chill Sunday, not super crowded but still plenty of patrons. I had the Sangria (absolutely delicious) & the cowgirl roll and vegan Philly roll; both vegan rolls are great but the vegan Philly roll stole the show. Sat bar-top and the service was good - friendly and attentive so that's a plus. Will definitely make it a point to stop in again while in the area.

Absolutely my favorite sushi place! I tried it first in austin and I'm glad to say that it's equally as delicious here in Dallas I always get the charred edamame, with sweet chili, mango crab rangoons and calamari ! My favorite sushi roll is the itchy sea bass or itchy salmon! Trust it's a reason they only come in two! The service was good! Waiter was attentive! Perfect for a date night if you are looking for a chill environment!

Came with a group for some late night sushi and as always the sushi was delicious! I started with a sake blossom peach and this sake was very sweet - almost similar to drinking wine. I ended up ordering the traditional sake and was satisfied with that. For food, I ordered a miso soup - typical dish and was tasty and a roll of crunchy LA and sake and maguro nigiri. I thoroughly enjoyed the sushi and would definitely return!

Fantastic sushi restaurant downtown! Highly recommend trying this place if you're interested in a variety of rolls. They have unique options that are so tasty depending on your preference. Their happy hour menu is so large there's something for everyone on it! A must try at minimum if you're interested in sushi at all.

Great Sunday happy hour! I loved the options it had and the wide variety and hopefully they continue to add more! Will come back! Easy parking, lots of seating, good service!

We absolutely lived this place! I would like to return. It's rare I find somewhere I'd like to go back to but this place was awesome. A little pricey but it was a good time. The ambiance is chill fun upbeat and vibey. Our server was 'ok'. It seemed like she was tired or just not very excited to be there but alas. She's just a girl. And we all have bad and midiocre days. The food was amazing. Will be back.

Because of the attentiveness of the bartenders, I'm able to be in and out within 35 minutes for a roll and miso soup. Not to mention they have a great happy hour on typical faves. I can only vouch for the bar top but superior service.

    Hawaiian rolls! So good!

Second time coming here and still very good! Love the vibes and decor. I came back specifically for their Hawaiian roll. Ordered some sashimi, nigiri, coconut crab soup (not pictured, but so good), and rolls. We came late in the night, but they were accommodating and service was good.

Went for a nye dinner. Mid experience. The ambience of the restaurant seemed nice but wasn't able to really tell since we were sat right next to the door which felt like sitting in a waiting area. The waiter was great and friendly when they came by but it was very infrequent because they seemed very busy (although it was fairly empty). Prices overpriced for the quality and amount you get. Drinks were great and they validate parking!

So lucky to have this gem in my neighborhood! Always excellent service, no matter where you are seated. And, for a basically land-locked state, the fish and food are delish. Stopped in for a late lunch and had the Hawaiian Roll and the Cherry Bomb. Both sooooooo good and Ali is a fantastic server. THANK YOU! Definitely support the local GEM!

If you haven't been here you're missing out!! Authentic, delicious, freshly made sushi, sashimi and Maki that don't disappoint. Everything we tried was a flavor sensation. Also check out the cocktails, I had White Peach Daquiri and little peach boba bombs delighted my taste buds with each sip. Happy Hour prices M-Sat until 6:30 and All Day Sunday!!! Fantastic prices

    Hawaiian Roll

As always, my favorite spot! Food is always fresh and delicious and YUMMY (because eating it is comforting)! We had questionable supermarket sushi last night, because my granddaughter begged for it. So today I decided to treat myself and gathered up the family and headed to the spot for Happy Hour! Today we had the Hawaiian Roll, Tidal Wave Roll, Lion King Roll, Super Asparagus Roll and California Rolls. First time trying the Super Asparagus Roll and I have been missing out! Loved It!! What also made today special was our server Jessica. She was A1 and very attentive!

Are dogs welcomed outside in the patio?

Not really but you can always call management in advance to double check. Service animals should be allowed though.

We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

The service felt distant and rushed. Our server seemed unfamiliar with the menu, gave us conflicting information about drink availability, and rarely checked on us. We specifically asked not to be rushed, yet our entrées arrived while we were only a quarter of the way through our appetizer. At one point, our food was delivered while we were outside getting fresh air. The food was also disappointing. The scallops and chicken were extremely salty and lacked flavor, and the chicken was overcooked. When we brought it up, the server did little to address it. To top it off, we saw two large cockroaches around our table, which was especially noticeable in the dark dining room. The cocktails were the highlight, but overall, the service, food, pacing, and cleanliness did not meet expectations. One star. Very disappointing, and I'm not sure I'll be back.

The staff was very welcoming, and the other guests I encountered were friendly and sociable. The drinks were excellent. On my first visit, I had the Hugo Spritz, which was mixed to perfection. During my second visit, I tried the Bitter Lemon Soda, which was also very good--simple, refreshing, and without any overpowering flavors. I actually enjoyed The Bowen House so much that I went twice during my weekend trip to Dallas. It has an almost speakeasy-like atmosphere, with low lighting and a cozy, historic feel. It's also in a very walkable area, which made it easy to visit on foot. There is some parking available, although I would say it's somewhat limited. I don't think it would be the best spot for a very large group, but it would be perfect for a few friends getting together. I also appreciated that you can order a drink while waiting for a table or bar seating, which made the wait feel much more enjoyable. Overall, The Bowen House was one of my favorite places I visited while in Dallas. Between the atmosphere, welcoming service, and well-crafted drinks, it's definitely a place I would return to the next time I'm in town.

The hotel property is like four legs under the table - a great location, a great hotel experience, a great restaurant experience, and a entertainment experience (The Mansion Bar). At least one leg has been kicked out, one is suffering. The Mansion Bar used to have a great recipe for success - proven by how busy and regular the customers were and loyal (or was), and the top tier talent that was routine for 10+ years. Me and my friends have a relationship with the long time staff as customers as well as the excellent music talent. The cause? Not precisely sure but I think it's new ownership, at the very least a new Food & Bev manager. I also know the staff is very upset about these changes and the relationships with the repeat music talent is now a mess. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff start leaving. I'm hoping whomever is making these decisions can revert back to what was working. Dallas has a lot of great venues that will fill this void.

They were just okay. Definitely not the flavor I expected. I should've gone with the honey hot. The dirty fries, loaded with cheese, bacon, and peppers were really good, especially with ranch and ketchup . (I rarely post Yelp reviews so that's how bad it was) I ordered the steak frites medium-well (thinking it would probably come out well-done, as most non-steakhouses tend to do). After a long wait for our food (the restaurant didn't look that busy, but maybe a lot of to-go orders?) I received the pictured steak: I'm pretty sure I can still hear it mooing. How anyone could look at this and think this is medium-well is beyond me. I tried taking a bite, but it was so raw it was inedible to eat - I would've been chewing for ages. I brought this up to my waiter, who said he would take it back and speak to the kitchen. My group needed to leave for another event (didn't anticipate waiting nearly an hour for our food) so we simultaneously asked for our checks. The kicker? My waiter did not follow up with me on how raw the steak was and did not comp my meal/provide any kind of remedy. I wasn't looking for a free meal, but the lack of follow-through to remedy the situation was the icing on the cake (or insert some kind of raw steak pun). My cocktail (which all arrived AFTER our meals were delivered) was pretty good, thus the 2 stars. But I question why/how my steak was so raw despite me waiting 45-55 minutes for it. Overall, only come here for drinks - so long as you're okay with waiting forever & a day for them.
