From the service to the food, everything was a 10/10! Our waitress deserves her flowers! She was amazing and even gave us a good coffee shop rec for after lunch! My friend and I ended up making late lunch plans and what better than sushi on a friyay! We both ended up ordering off of their Happy Hour menu because they just have so much food on it! We started with spicy edamame and miso soup! 10/10! I could probably eat 5 of their miso soups! Haha! As for entrees, I ordered the crunchy red roll, and it was great! I had an after work dinner and birthday surprise for one of the co workers . Our waiter was amazing and really carried this review. He listened to all of our wims, such as roaring as he gave a lion king roll to a co worker. He and a few of his coworkers were amazing and remembered it almost all of our orders. They did great handling our large group. The whole place was also nicely themed with Japanese nostalgic photos and decorations. The food was slightly disappointing. The one I like most was the tidal wave because it tasted that it had the most flavor. Everything else was a little plain compared to its description on the menu. The Sho Chiku Bai drink I had reminds me of mio sake so if you like mio, you'll like the Sho Chiku Bai. The Tokyo fizz drink was amazing and definitely the height of the food and drink drinks.. but I really like how there are more vegan options and I will come here again because I have some vegetarian friends who would enjoy this. I had never been here before and he recommended me a dish based off of my and my party's interests- trusting his judgement was the best call we made all night. The itchy salmon was fantastic. I just stopped by the Blue Sushi Sake Grill in Uptown last night for their all-day Sunday HH specials! My experience was awesome. It was very easy to make a reservation on OpenTable and modify the time as needed. The restaurant itself is very hip and cool looking, with a pop-culture style of decor. They also provide parking validation, which is a relief because parking in Uptown can be a pain at times. To start, we ordered the brussels sprouts, which are a MUST! They are roasted to perfection in a creamy lemon sauce with cashew crumbles. Even if you aren't typically a lover of them, I think this dish will change your mind! I ordered the shiitake to me and prince roll. They are both vegan, and this is one of my favorite parts about this restaurant- their unique and extensive vegan maki selection. Goodbye to the limited days of cucumber and avocado rolls! Something notable about the service is my boyfriend ordered the thai hippie roll and cali roll, and our wonderful server assumed I was vegan from our orders (I am vegetarian), and asked if his should be on different plates. This was so thoughtful and observant - and so much appreciated! 3 out of 4 rolls were on the HH menu, so this dinner was very affordable for the amount and quality of food. The rolls were just amazing, this was not my first time having them - Blue Sushi is one of my favorite restaurants. I typically frequent the other location, so I am grateful for my very positive experience in Uptown. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by for the all-day HH deal. We had a really great dining experience for our 9th anniversary. Started with the crab Rangoon which we both really enjoyed. It was paired with a red sauce that was pretty tasty. This is our go to place when my wife and I are craving makis. They serve both basic rolls and specialty. I haven't had the basic/classic ones so can't attest to those, however, I can undoubtedly vouch for the specialty ones. Here's what we got this time around ranked in order of preference: - Spicy gringo - this was an interesting one because it was slightly tangy, thanks to the bbq paper- I know, pretty interesting. My family wasn't a big fan of this one. - Godzilla - top 3 for everyone in our party. - Tidal wave - beware: it's got shrimp tempura and cream cheese, but don't let that deter you. It's solid! - Green eggs and Hama - good, but was made differently than the times we've had in the past. - Lion king - not bad, just a tad creamy. Was top 3 for others in party. - Spanish fly - also not bad, it just has a generous amount of cilantro. - Beach - none of us liked this one. It was also weird because it had a carrot in there that was unexpected. Aside from the rolls we got truffle salmon and mango crab Rangoon for the apps. We usually get the yellow tail - which is solid - but went for the truffle salmon instead this time and weren't disappointed. It was 5 pieces of deliciousness. The latter is your basic crab rangoon just on top of mango drizzle. Service was prompt and server was kind. Parking: we parked in the garage. DO NOT PAY FOR PARKING.
