I had one of their drivers (Middle age, tanned skinned, possibly Latino, curly hair) cut me off, then proceed to brake check me twice. Afterwards, when we were on a one lane road, he proceeded to stop entirely for a good minute while traffic built up behind us. He sped away like a coward when he noticed my passenger started taking pictures and the traffic behind US started honking. Future tip to this trucker, if you are going to be aggressive on the road, don't do it in your work truck. His picture and reckless driving has been reported to the police. If I needed my car towed, I would not want THIS COMPANY to take my car on a wild ride. Don't ever eat at Estrada's restaurant and think for a MINUTE you will be allowed to park next door. (Estrada's restaurant is the very next business next to Blue Water) Cars are allowed to park in the dirt in front of the fencing of their yard. the very next driveway is the Blue Water office. All the lights are out and in essence closed. I parked my car there. The sign states "8-5 pm" business hours the name "Bluewater" and unauthorized vehicles towed 24 hours. I figured it was a tow yard with tow signs and thought nothing of it. Keep in mind... I was actually allowed to park in front of their gate before by employees. Well i had a nice dinner, and came out and saw my vehicle gone... almost immediately i looked to the right about 20 yards and noticed my very expensive car sitting behind their fence. i could literally activate my key-less entry from where i was. I called the number and spoke to a lady. told her my car was towed 20 yards and that i needed my car. She told me she would come outside. it took her 10 minutes. finally I banged on the window since the front of the business was glass panes. There was a man who was behind a computer... ( He was there the entire time) Out in the open. It was terribly obvious i was looking for my car, but it took me shaking the doors to get his attention. He open's the door, and i tell him... "My car was towed, it was right here an hour ago." He chuckles and says, "oh ya, its no parking". I point to a car literally 4 stalls over and say, "What about that car?" He says, "thats an employee car." At that point i was done talking. I threw my debit card on the desk. $370 dollars later i walked 40 yards and drove my car out of their lot. My car was involved in an accident awhile back, and while I had requested another Ted and Al's tow truck (from the Ted and Al's driver who was towing another car away), they sent a Blue Water tow truck instead. I was on the phone with my insurance company when the guy arrived and he attached my car to the tow truck. When I asked how much it would be, the guy said $300 to tow it 6 miles. Now, I've had my car towed many times and that's utterly ridiculous. When I told the insurance company woman (who I was still on the phone with) how much he quoted me, she said she's never seen a tow bill that high, especially to go 6 miles, and they wouldn't cover that much money. I told the guy forget it, that was ridiculous and that he could put my car down and I'd call another company. He said, "Well how much do you want to pay?". I asked her and she laughed and said that was a first. I named my price, which was a hell of a lot less than that, and he said that was fine. Not only that, when the guy arrived, he was pushing business cards on me for a body shop that he "recommended". My stolen car was just found at Daly City BART, and the police helped called this car toll company to get my car into the shop. $150, wow. The person shook his head in disdain multiple times when I insisted on bringing it to my dealership instead of his car shop. Yet we ended up en route in front of his shop--"My mechanic wants to see it, he is right here, i just want to save you money, " he says. What the heck, we let the mechanic peer into our car for 30 seconds before he refused it. When we got to the dealership, he turned all sweet and lingered for a tip that he didn't get. Thumbs down! I had my car towed from per Daly City police 2 years ago. After all the hoops of meeting a sargeant at city hall @ 8am, I was directed to the local tow yard. I was told $150 would have the car out, per the tow receptionist. I didn't realize I was being manipulated!!! When I got there... I was told It would have to be $400 to get car out. Something about a gatekeeper fee, tow fee, and sunday fee. SUNDAY FEE? Yet my car can be towed from you bastards 4 hours prior? on a sunday? my car broke down today and i randomly called 411 to get any tow truck to come rescue , and luck was with me when Blue Water Towing and Auto Service showed up. The tow driver helped calm me down and was very friendly, we had a great discussion about local places to shop on the drive in. He also chatted with me during the wait while my car was being checked out by the mechanic on duty, Gary. I thought Gary was going to see a blonde like me and quote me some outrageous price but he was so nice and honest, even showed me the car in the shop and the parts it needed. He did a wonderful job and I drove out of there with thier number programmed into my cellphone, the next time I break down I am calling them again! Need a tow truck? Call CSAA! or Broadmoor Tow, or Westlake Tow - but do NOT use Blue Water. They have zero ethics or community concern. Using a neighboring restaurant to trap people to park there when they look closed - then when you leave they tow you. You can't see the sign at night. Being private property they are within their right but - why not illuminate the signs? For us it was a $470 experience. Horrible and they could care less. They could come to the restaurant and say "hey..." but they don't. They got 1 star because the items in our car were still there and there was no harm to the car. They are an Allstate affiliate so shame on you Allstate for partnering with this establishment. read more

Tow truck drivers have a heart too and they can come to the rescue when it's a matter of life or death. My toddler son got locked in the car with my car keys. We called 9-1-1 and the police and fire department arrived. SF Fire tried to wedge open my car door, and after a couple failed attempts, Angel from Blue Water Towing thankfully showed up and was able to open the car right away (saving my son!! and also saving us from having to break the car window). If Angel hadn't shown up when he did, the fire department told me to prepare for breaking the window soon (thankfully, my son was not in distress, but he was sweating like crazy and you could tell he was hot, even though it was only in the mid 60s in SF on a sunny day). Speaking with Angel, it turns out, he got the call from dispatch and when he heard a child was stuck in the car, he rushed over and ran through red lights to get to us as fast as he could. Yesterday (2/1/16) had to remove vehicle from highway damaged in a traffic accident and was given until Monday noon by the police to move it or they would. It was my son's and I was helping him out. Called a tow company in SF they referred me to Blue Water. It was one heck of a frustrating morning. I called at 7:30 a.m. was told to call back half n hour before I was ready. Was ready by 9:00 a.m. gave them a call said to call back in an hour now mind you I had reserved a Zipcar to drive to the location of son's vehicle. Anyway there were several phone calls back & forth when I finally get to the spot and call Blue Water I was told driver had left had waited 15 minutes and wouldn't be another tow truck available for another 45. Okay I got a little irritated when I was told this cuz I needed to get back to my job so the conversation was "disconnected". I called back and Mary said she would do her best to get someone sooner to me. Well tow truck arrived soon and the driver Jeffrey politely asked me if I had the car keys. OMG I had forgotten the keys!! He said no problem he could still open the vehicle. Jeffrey was like a therapist he saw how upset I was and talked to me in the most friendly soothing voice and assured me everything was okay. He hooked up my son's car and I followed in the Zipcar. When he got to my home he had to maneuver the vehicle in a tight spot in the resident's parking space in between 2 other vehicles! He did it without a scratch to the other vehicles. Damn he's good. The total charge for the tow and lockout was super affordable and I was so grateful. Jeffrey is the best, he was professional, humorous, and understanding. If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. After a recent car accident I called another tow company - Golden Gate Tow - to tow my car and the second car away due to damage to our vehicles that rendered them un-driveable. While I was waiting, a Blue Water tow truck stopped and said he wanted to tow us. At first I was confused but realized he was just driving by and saw the accident. The driver of the truck became very aggressive and coercive with the other driver and tried to get him to let him tow his car away. When I explained we were already waiting for a truck and that my insurance was paying for that tow bill from that company and that we needed to wait, he became even more aggressive and coercive in his tone and words. He threatened to call the police on us for blocking traffic if I did not accept his tow and said that we were breaking the law. Both my and the other drivers car were badly damaged and I was suffering from bad whip lash - and I was in quite a lot of pain. He was unkind, inconsiderate and I would guess, was breaking the law by doing what he did. He was trying to take advantage of two people in a difficult situation. He even started to try to hook the other driver's car up to his truck without appropriate consent. Wow - unethical business practices - that guy should be fired and your company should be fined if this is the kind of business practice you promote. read more

Battery died in the Stonestown garage so we called AAA for assistance. Then AAA sent out a woman from BlueWater Towing, I believe Karin was her name. She jumpstarted my car then immediately left like she was in a hurry. Didn't even bother to inspect the battery. I then drove my car for 2 minutes in the garage, then the car began stalling. I knew the battery was bad at this point. So we called her immediately so she could come back. She then arrived and placed in a new battery, once again in a hurry. A day later I checked the battery and found out that the battery wasn't even installed correctly. The negative terminal wasn't tightened down and the battery fastener wasn't tightened either. The battery was free sliding on the holder. I'm surprised the car didn't die when going down 280 when it was pouring rain. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I'm surprised this is what AAA sent out to me. Definitely would not recommend this auto service. Paid $140 for a half a** job. If you want something done right, might as well do it yourself. read more

These people are crooks. My car was towed by daly city police, ok my bad for parking there. Fortunately got there right as tow driver was leaving flagged him down and was told that to release the car would have to pay half the towing fee...125 for towing the car 20 ft. Wtf? Swallowed my pride and told the driver I needed to grab my wallet from my house across the street and was told very rudely that yeah he would wait for me and I'm just so lucky that he's that nice of a guy. Grabbed wallet came back he was gone. Called company and wad told that a police officer instructed him to leave. Called police they said they had left half an hour ago and had no record of any contact with tow company after the initial ticket. Called tow company back they said there was nothing they could do and I would need to pay them 270 for the tow. Here is the kicker: when I asked to speak to a supervisor it turned out the guy who towed my car then lied to my face about why is the manager. That should say it all. I had the same experience as Sue L back in 2013. We parked there after closing and also did not see the Tow Sign. It is very dark and the signs are not easily visible at night. My friend is handicapped and had her placard on rear view mirror. We went to Estrada's and when we returned the car was towed maybe 100 feet into the locked yard. From the tow time until we got to Blue Water it was 20 mins. We were charged, get this, a full day (24 hours), the tow charge as well as a charge for "after hours "release, even though they had been in the office the whole time. For 20 friggin mins and a tow of 100 feet maximum. You could have rolled the car in there. The night clerk could not locate the owner, and was totally unprofessional. After an hour of back and forth arguing, my friend broke down (just had a week of chemo) they gave us a refund for the 24 hour charge, but it still was a 300.00 night. I was not trying to get out of paying anything, we were in the wrong, but the fine should have reflected a more reasonable amount based on the time the car was in the locked yard, not the original 400.00. Now that I know they are AAA recommended I will definitely send my comments to AAA as well. They are truly unethical and pretty much scum.
