Had blue fin ramen several times at the south Austin location. I'm super excited they opened one in kyle! I'm not disappointed at all! Ordered 3 bowls of ramen and fried calamari for appetizer. Calamari fried crispy and flavourful! I think the broth here is even better than the South Austin location because it's not too overly salty. I prefer thick noodles than thin noodles. Tonkotsu is our favorite. Oyasumi is good, but the corn overpower the broth flavor, which makes the broth taste too cornish. The miso soup has a hint of spicy, is the saltiest of the three bowls. It's half self service here in kyle. You find your own table, and you order on the tablet when you walk into the door. Get your own foundation drink and share plates or soy sauce. Staff will bring your food to the table. I think it's cool. However, with small space like this, you just feel people keep walking around you while you eat. The only down part is that the floor feels very greasy, and the AC doesn't feel working well. Hope they can fix these soon since they just opened not too long ago. read more

Not the best. The food is mediocre at best & the worst part about this place is the self order system at the front of the restaurant. The staff seems very disconnected from the restaurant. I'd like to note that we ordered sushi and a desert. The bathrooms were disssssgusting! If I had saw the restrooms before ordering I would not have ate there. This resturant has potential, they need someone to come tighten up what's going on there. I think the ambiance could be cleaner, towards the back where you fill up your drinks, there's boxes that should probably be put away nicely. We spent $100 at this place, it's too over priced for what they're offering. I don't have to drive to austin for ramen anymore!! I got the Tonkotsu Black, and it was delicious! The broth was smooth and flavorful. It was pretty chill. The ramen was delicious and the right amount of spicy. I would get this again and again. Regarding our dining experience, I was not prepared to place my own order on their tablets but I do really appreciate all the menu items having a photo to go with it. It gets pretty busy and you'll have to seat yourself, so you'll have to be on the lookout for an open table. Overall I was very happy with the speed and quality of the food. Service is a little off putting with the lack of direction about having to place orders on a kiosk, especially when you have questions about menu items. They seem to be understaffed at times as well. The pork is so much more flavorful than any other ramen place we've had in Austin. It has grilled smokiness to it and that elevates it soooo much. Highly recommend the Tonkotsu black! Their sushi is fresh, fish is cool, rice is warm, just like it should be. A new menu item for this location is the Avocado bomb appetizer, which honestly I'd order as a main next time it was so incredible. Tempura fried avocado stuffed with crab salad, topped with scallions, masago, spicy mayo, and soy. It was fried lightly so the avocado was still cool and the tempura wasn't overwhelmingly oily. It was so light for something fried!! They have the same Japanese inspired decor as the other locations. Beautiful mural on the wall. The tables are pretty close together as the space is much smaller than their other restaurant locations. Neither of us have been in the bathrooms. read more

I had been wanting to drop by and check it out for a bit now and a friend and I decided to stop and try a couple of rolls. I was a bit overwhelmed in a great way with the menu, so many options! We decided on the Palm Valley and Bluefin Lakeway. The wait was worth it, the rolls did not disappoint. If I had to pick one over the other it'd be hard but there Palm Valley had a loaf of flavor that popped off and the masago was the cherry on top. The Lakeway though, had such a great slice and the fish was smooth. I will definitely come back to try other items. read more

Spicy tuna seems like it was scooped from some premade pile as it was room temperature and mushy. Ordered a chicken tender kids meal for my child and it was overly fried and gross. Nothing seemed fresh. I've spent less (bill for 3 people was around $100) at a fancier place with better quality food. Great food! Its fantastic to have a good ramen/sushi place this close in Kyle. Me and my fiancée had the Teriyaki Bento Box and the Spicy Chicken Ramen and they were both really good! The only complaint was that the strawberry jelly in the Boba tea was bitter. We asked if we could get another and the gentleman in glasses that was working the front got us a replacement right away! They were quite welcoming even though we were not able to make it over there until about 30 minutes before they closed on a slow night, so major kudos for the wonderful attitude. Obviously they did have some cleaning up while we were eating but we are the ones who couldn't make it there until late so that is to be expected. It was my son's birthday and we got him a bowl of Ramen and salmon sashimi, and I got the salmon and tuna poke bowl. I do wish it had just a little bit more salmon and tuna in it honestly, but it was good and all of the food was fresh. This might be my son's new Ramen spot since he liked being able to get some sushi on the side and not just limited to Ramen. While we did enjoy our dinner, our meal unfortunately ended on a bad note due to one of the black dishes (pictured in my photo) falling from the counter top and hitting my child's head when an employee was grabbing something from the top. No one really cared to check on my child who was clearly crying and holding her head but instead dashed by to say sorry. I really didn't care for the ordering system - the menu is just too big and the space is too small to stand at a kiosk and consider what you want to eat. Definitely a sit-down style menu for a counter service restaurant. The staff were okay but we had an issue with our order and the cashier didn't seem to speak English that well so the problem didn't get resolved, we just chose to live with what we got.
