    Entrance to the outdoor space
    Darryl T.

Came to the opening of this venue to catch the first show held here. Solomun headlined and Max Styler opened for him. The outdoor space was big enough for large crowd. I know they have an indoor space as well. There is a rideshare drop off area which is highly recommended due lack of parking. Entering the venue was quick, staff was friendly. There were plenty of bars and food trucks throughout the venue, as well as a merch booth. my wife and I were lucky enough to get VIP tickets which provided the best viewing experience in my opinion as it was elevated and directly to the left side facing the stage and tables were on the right. The sound and lighting were excellent which created an intimate yet large atmosphere. I would definitely come back for another show especially to check out the indoor space.

I was so excited to go with my brother here but as soon as we got there, GOSH greeted by the most energy depleting security guard. We were showing ID's and he we was just giving us nasty looks while smacking on his toothpick like if he had never seen a pair of humans before. I tried to ignore it but as I was walking in he just kept giving us such a glare it was un tasteful. I tried to have fun the vibes were ok nothing crazy, I then got thirsty so me and my brother walked to my car to get cold water. On our way back we showed IDs again and security guard started questioning us saying what we're doing why are we coming back so we told him. I thought it was okay at first you know he was doing his job but then I explained we went to just get water and he started saying no re-entry which he didn't imply at first, followed by you can't bring outside drinks in with a mean tone. I then said "Sir, I just said we went to the car to get water I DO NOT have it with me as you can see". He started giving us attitude saying why we're even showing him our ID?? at that point I was annoyed so I said "Just let us in sir we explained ourselves I don't know why this is so complicated". He noticed I got annoyed and started saying "Omg girl I was just joking damn you can't even take a joke why would you show me your ID again I don't want to see it" literally contradicting himself trying to make it seem like he wasn't just being rude. So my brother ended up just telling him "just have a goodnight" and we walked back in, but at that point though I felt so uneasy and just wanted to leave cause he left both of us just feeling weird. Even if he was "joking" please just have a security guard who doesn't "joke" on the clock and leave people with uncertainty, so unprofessional never coming back.

Ive grown up in southern CA my whole life but have not had the access to get to visit these types of spots. Now that I'm a grown lady, it's still pricey but we budget the best we can and you most certainly need to budget should you choose to indulge in garlic fries and chard for like $20 or so each. Your ticket will be worthwhile in most spots as I see a chance to get a great view everywhere but being on the ground level with the band so close is absolutely an experience. The weather was especially lovely for our visit and the acoustics are amazing! We decided to take a shuttle just outside the venture in Griffith Park and while we enjoyed the experience and have no complaints JT probably wants necessary as parking and attendants were on top of traffic flow. Go see the show, you deserve it! Thanks for an experience of a lifetime, Death Cab for Cutie!!!

Getting there was easy, and we left 2 songs before the concert ended. Shuttles were already there waiting to take us back. The venue was great, very intimate seating - nestled in between all the trees. Every seat is a great view. Sound was great as well! Food was ok. Also a good amount of security. The vibe is chill & relaxed and there's a suitable selection of tunes on the jukebox. The adjacent Peacock lounge is equally charming and hosts stand-up comedy shows on Thursday nights and DJs on the weekends. (Conan O'Brien did a surprise gig here a few weeks ago.) The back patio is spacious with an outside bar & picnic style seating. I haven't been here in years. In fact, it was before the remodel. A recent trip to the Atwater Farmer's Market inspired me to come back. It was a Thursday evening and JJ was behind the bar. She was absolutely delightful! We had a great conversation while I sipped on the Happy Hour Spicy Margarita. During my visit, several locals stopped in for a drink and to say "Hi" to JJ. This is a great spot to get together with friends. I'll be back soon. *Metered parking or residential.

With the seemingly ever-changing landscape along Brand Blvd. in downtown Glendale, this establishment has been around since 2012 (which I believe was the first and only time I came here). Primarily known for its inventive craft cocktails and a killer whiskey selection, it was a nice place to sneak away into before or after your main event... or, maybe this could be the place to spend an entire evening. Would this bar famously make an impression on me to remember to return in the future!? After a few minutes of reviewing the menu, we each placed our order at the bar, our drinks were delivered quickly while the food took mere minutes to arrive at the table. We had to approach the bar each time we ordered something, but any empty glasses and plates were collected at the table. Once we closed out our tabs, we were thanked for coming as we headed out into the night. Everything was chill and easy - thank you! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance): I parked in the nearby original Glendale Galleria parking structure and simply walked over first to The Americana then to this place. Otherwise, there was limited parking along the main drag of Brand Blvd. and other surrounding side streets, the nearby Glendale Galleria II parking structure, The Americana parking structure that offered validation, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. There was at least one projection TV where we watched the Dodgers game while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=SomLKsk1KVcemeOCHGOZfg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...
