Dope ass venue with clean floors, good stage view and an awesome crowd. The lights were pretty cool too. If you want a better view and less crowd, there's a second floor that you can check out. First time coming to this place and we got to see Isaiah Rashad! It was my gf first time going to a rap concert, so we had to pull up to support one of my favorite upcoming artist! The whole night was lit! How the place is set up is pretty organized. The only thing that sucked was finding parking, but getting parking in LA sucks. You do what you gotta do though lol. When we got in, we immediately went to the merch shop to get a shirt and then walk over to the bar which was on the other side. We both ordered a tequila sunrise and it was pretty strong. This review is for Camille's at The Bellwether. I went for Wednesday Rock Nite that they were hosting, and although had a good time, I was not impressed with the way the venue is run. First off, the parking situation is a nightmare so you better be down to uber if you want any prayer of getting there otherwise you'll be circling the block for 30+ minutes trying to find a spot. Second, the beer was way over priced. You're looking at $17 + tip for a decent sized beer, or paying $11 for a cheap can. That's like Coachella pricing, absolute robbery. Third and probably the biggest turn off, was that the second the last band played their last note, the bar immediately closed and started kicking people out. No final call, no grace period to hang out, just gtfo. Zero hospitality. Overall, I liked the space itself, especially the upstairs lounge / balcony area, but the cons just far outweigh the pros with this place. Logistically terrible location and zero hospitality to speak of paired with overly expensive drinks and not particularly friendly staff did not make me want to come back here. There are far better venues in LA. read more

I don't know about the food but you can get a good tasting beer for $11. Friendly-ish staff help you out. The Bellwether is a venue I never visited before despite many years of working and getting lost in this very area. It's between downtown and Koreatown, just north of Wilshire. As such it's a quiet area that you can find some trouble in a short amount of time. Parking lots are around, but the street is where it's at. read more

We paid extra for the Looking Glass and ate the included appetizers and ordered a drink and water. The food included a nice variety of cheeses and meats, that went well with the Ritz crackers. The fruit was fresh and delicious. I admit to eating a cookie or two. The bartender was very friendly, and we chatted for a bit. They had comfy booths and a few standup tables, in case it got crowded, which it didn't. The problem, for me, is we were expecting to be able to see while sitting and there was a misleading sign to add to that misunderstanding. I did have my cane, so when we finally understood that we had to leave the Looking Glass to a restricted area (for those of us that paid the extra $85 each), I was able to sit on the bench, and listen, or stand behind the people standing at the railing. My adult granddaughter was able to squeeze in to watch the concert below. Matt Hansen and Dean Lewis were both really good. We also enjoyed Dean talking about his life and struggles. I, for one, appreciate some colorful language. All in all it was a fun evening, but I won't be back. My granddaughter might, if they have someone that she wants to see. read more

Nice venue with a pretty elevated stage so view was ok if you stand off to the side when I came to see Ashe. There were bars in the back so it was convenient for people who needed drinks. Not a fan of the restroom as it was quite dark and was easily blocked when the venue was filling up. This is a small intimate venue. It was standing room only. The top balcony was for VIP. Came here to see Dean Lewis. It was my first visit to this venue. Security was friendly and kept the line moving smoothly. Bathrooms were clean and the women's side had plenty of stalls so didn't have to ever wait in line. The Bellwether, "This is 4 you!" My return to this space, now better than ever from it's journey as the former 333 Live/The Gold Room and even more formerly as Club Tatou/Tatou Supper Club was one I'll never forget. One of my boyfriend's favorite bands was playing here, Tuxedo (Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One + their incredible assortment of talented touring instrumentalist). All paired up along with their touring mate, the incredible dj meets songstress Gavin Turek. It was a neo-soul, disco funk, retro night of non stop beats, bumps and all the Tuxedo classics #FuxWithTheTux. I got a ticket the night before the show and joined bae as soon as I could make my way over after work. Taking the Metro over was perfect for both of us, me being on the LA Metro B (Redline) path and him along the Metro A (Blueline) path - Grand Ave Arts/Bunker Hill is the nearest station, but 7th and Metro connects with a few city lines that will get you fairly close to the Bellwether. Parking in the area is wild, so I highly recommend the metro and/or a ride share. It'll be a bit of steep an incline from all the nearest paths. I had to ditch a Lime Scooter just before getting here (definitely got my workout for the week in). If you do opt for the lot it's premium for their main lot (P1) and secure in one of their six parking area options (lots off Boylston St., 3rd St, 4th, and/or 5th) . The doors opened an hour or so before show start times, with bar areas in the main lobby room as well as restrooms as well as restrooms just on the other side of the main room where he magic happens. Some cool things and areas to note are: The vibes, the decor, the architecture and the brilliant colors. Camille's, the south bar, small, intimate and for artists, performers and VIPs only. The upstairs loft area has great views of the stage and main floor, but fills up really fast - I believe it's part of their VIP section with some actual seating, an addition bar, small bites and cool perks via the Looking Glass Lounge, available with upgrade. It can be a bit of jump from GA/General Admission. The Virginian x Hi-Fi Pizza Pi - is lounge/bar/restaurant open to all. The Patio is a cool trendy covered open air area - our friend Mike who we ran into hung out here as it got very warm, intimate and high energy between sets. The sweatshirts and jackets had to come off! It didn't feel like heat was on or on high for that matter, just a very great turn out for the show. Their patio is your friend for a beat of cool air. The main showroom has it's own bar in the back as well as restrooms to the other side of the show room, down the hallway. Great acoustics, super sound, lavish lights, with technicians as well as B.W. staff, plus security to make sure your night is a fun night. We jammed, grooved, boogey and had a truly amazing time. As Tuxedo would sing/say, "I'll toast to that!" It's an LA event venue with names big, small, small festivals, contests, drag shows and more. Drinks can be high, but very on pair with music venues/similar spaces throughout Greater Los Angeles. Purchasing tickets in advanced is available only in the Ticketmaster app, you can purchase physical tickets only on the night of a show and only if available. Our show wasn't sold out, so I'm sure some people took advantage, however a lot of shows do sell out here - so depending on what you'd like to enjoy at this choice venue... Ticketmaster away! Card only, cash free venue. Easy pickup or drop off in front. We caught an uber to 7th and Metro that arrive easy in designated areas in front. Definitely would go again and will! Nice venue near DTLA, 1500 capacity with good size restrooms, balcony with railing that wraps around the 2nd floor, overlooking the stage and floor, plenty of bars, easy merch access, deluxe open air patio area facing DTLA. They have adjoining restaurant, The Virginian, serving pizzas, burgers, fries, etc, connected to the venue with its separate entrance to the floor, and has their own modest stage. There's usually ample parking across for $15-20 and the restaurant allows early arrivals to use their restroom if asked (for those who line up early). Sound is always good, forward facing stage speakers for crowds closer to stage, and AC always pumping, even in winter which can get cold at times needing a sweater or light jacket. Their VIP Looking Glass Lounge add on is $85 (too much imo) with complimentary snacks and soft drinks, but they open it only 30 minutes before doors, and their entry policy of letting GA enter first to the main floor but to delay patrons waiting in Looking Glass Lounge 5 minutes "after" doors open don't make sense and therefore not worth the extra add on, and hence 3 stars. The Bellwether has to be one of the coolest venues I have been to in DTLA. It is pretty big with several sections like an upstairs balcony for a better view of the musicians performing. I was really happy to be able to come here for the first time and to see Mates Fest no less. It felt amazing getting to see so many of my favorite musicians perform in one place. Even though the parking situation was a huge drag (there was not any free parking in the area, you have to either pay to park somewhere or park really far) the venue itself totally made up for it. Many of the workers seemed very inviting and were so friendly to us and everyone that was there. The stage area was comprised of a bottom floor and a top floor with a balcony. I didn't get the chance to go up there but I imagine the view was a lot better albeit further away from the stage. The view from the bottom can be a little rough since the stage isn't super elevated off the ground. If someone taller than you is standing in front of you, good luck. One thing that also really stood out to me was the lighting and the presentation of the musicians. It was honestly really cool and made the shows a lot better. In addition to this, the sound and everything was on point. A stellar night all around! read more

I'm 48, have been going to shows and performing at a time since I was a teen, and this is by far the best freaking club I've ever set foot in. The place is perfect! I was just there Thai see Cabaret Voltaire, and had VIP (which was only like ten bucks more, for The Looking Glass). I'm disabled and hugely feared crowds slamming against me. Nope. I think I was one of about 15 in VIP with zero crowd and a perfect view of the stage. The sound was beyond perfect. Everything was perfect. I can't wait to go back!!! My friends and I attended the Deltron 3030 concert and had so much fun. This was my first time visiting this venue and was impressed with how nice it was. The security and bar staff were really nice and helpful. Bathrooms were really clean considering it was a sold out show and didn't leave feeling like I needed a tetanus shot. Lol!!. The upstairs area was cool too and lead out to a smoking area with a cool balcony view of Los Angeles. Would most definitely return to catch another show st this venue. We ended up here after leaving a movie early and saw the band Tuxedo. This a newer venue and I wonder what it used to be because it sits in this little corner just outside all the high rises in Downtown and has a nice view of the city from the restaurant. I have friends that worked here and knew people that have been before me and all I heard was that it's nice, but it gets really hot in there and the air circulation is bad. I will say I experience a little bit of that myself. I was on the second floor balcony for the first two songs and couldn't take it anymore and spent the rest of my time down on the floor by the doorway. It's much cooler down on the floor and you definitely feel the heat rising and getting stuck up on the balcony. What's great about this place is they have a connected restaurant that you access on the second floor. Just look for the EAT sign and you're in their ghost restaurant. You scan a barcode and order your food and get a text to pick it up at the counter. There's plenty of seating and if you sit by the window you get a nice view of the downtown high rises. We parked in the lot across from the venue and paid $15 and they closed half an hour after the show ended. I'd like to also note that the staff here are unbelievably nice! Everyone from the door guys to the ticket scanners to the bartenders were nothing but cordial to me and answered all of my questions. I'd rank this way higher than the Teragram Ballroom. Definitely would recommend seeing a show here. read more

The hottest venue in town. This LA concert venue offers a loaded lineup of performances from your favorite local and national bands. I purchased tickets to see Houndmouth in January and I was truly amazed by the Bellwether. You can tell it's well loved with clean floors, hip decor, and top of the line sound and visuals. Style wise, it reminds me a bit of the old House of Blues at Downtown Disney. It's awesome that they offer multiple areas to catch the performance. You can choose from the ground floor, second floor, and a large lobby, patio space, and private restaurant that offer streaming TVs. We ended up snagging decent spots on the 2nd floor with an overhead view of the band. I was obsessed with their onsite restaurant, The Virginian. It offers a ton of plush booth seats, a dance floor, and an elevated menu. No crappy bar eats here! I ordered their pizza which came topped with hot honey and ricotta cheese. Parking was also easy peasy - I know, unheard of in LA! It was $15 to park in the neighboring lot. Heads up though, they close 30 minutes after the show ends. Luckily I love an early bedtime. read more

Why am I just finding out about this gem?! I came for a Ziggy Marley concert a couple weeks ago. The ambiance was super soulful, with a more diverse crowd than I was expecting! The entrance and stairway were beautiful (and perfect for a photo opp). There is also additional standing and sitting room on the balcony for those who don't want to be in the big crowd. Now, let me get to my favorite part: the cafe upstairs! There is this adorable little cafe upstairs, with nice, comfy booths, a lovely view of DTLA skyscrapers, and a screen of the stage downstairs, so you can take a break without missing the show! We had no idea this was upstairs until we saw a girl pass by with the most delicious looking pizza! We asked where she got it, and she pointed upstairs. The pizza was DELECTABLE! That might single handedly have been the best slice of pizza I've eaten in all my time in Los Angeles. Not to mention the portions were HUGE! And $7! Where in Los Angeles can you get an enormous slice of quailty pizza for $7? I'll wait! I really enjoyed my time! Ziggy Marley was amazing and took down the house! Went to The Bellwether on May 20th to see The Afghan Whigs. It was my first time at the venue but won't be the last. An ADA liaison meet us at the door as I am in a wheelchair. He (Oscar, I hope I remembered correctly) showed us around and took us up in the elevator to our section. The ADA area was roped off and we could see the bands perfectly! We were also close to the cafe. We had dinner there. The portions were large, delicious, and a great price. I plan on going back for Tricky and maybe some other artists. Great venue! I generally can not stand going Downtown. The chaos! The $$$ parking! But The Bellwether is situated in a nice little pocket of less chaos and loads of parking! Street parking AND not crazy pricey secured lot parking even! But enough about the parking - the venue itself was great! It felt spacious and intimate at the same time. Nice bar area right as you walk in, and a bigger bar in the main room. I did not try the restaurant, but, would give it a go next time, I think. Love that there was LOADS of stalls in the (clean!!) restrooms that kept the lines moving quickly. Bartenders were friendly and all the staff I encountered was lovely as well. Came here to watch Belle and Sebastian with my partner and was super excited to check out this newish venue in LA. This venue is really nice and intimate. It kind of reminded me of a nicer version of The Glasshouse in Pomona. Everything is well maintained and the security and staff were nice and polite. There is also a restaurant upstairs, but we didn't get a chance to check it out. From the photos of other Yelpers here, it looks like it boasts some great views of DTLA as well. Parking is a bit hit or miss. We ended up parking in a lot for $15, but they close 30 minutes after the show, so you would have to rush out of there! I can't wait to check out more shows here in the future. read more

Parking: The Athena parking lot nearby is $10 cash and extremely close. Literally up the street like a couple of mins away. We had a Christmas party here, and it was a breeze to book, staff was nice, prices were very fair for the open bar, the music proved the room we got, no one in our group was a fan of the cold pizza under a heat lamp, for that reason I might recommend another location, not much parking in the area, luckily we Uber's from a near by hotel, small intimidate venue which was nice. Huge patio for with views of downtown. Staff was the bomb...except the killjoy dude in the EAT bar. He was a jerk and rude to me, my friends, and everyone after us. He needs the ax and the place would be perfect. Can not wait to go back. Unload the rude dude. He does not fit the vibe of the club. For as long as I've been going to live events, I cannot for the life of me think of why I've never been to this venue. My friend got sick and had to give up her ticket to the Princess show, so I stepped in at the last minute. We got there fairly early. I say this because the parking lot across the venue was still empty. This gave us just the right amount of time to grab something to eat and drink. The layout here is great if you like to be segregated from the riff raffery. There are multiple bars downstairs and upstairs. We ended up getting food and drinks upstairs. My beer was satisfactory. The food my friend got (chicken tenders w/fries) tasted like something you would get from a school cafeteria. Them tenders were salty AF. The customer service was supreme. I loved my spot on the second floor right behind the handrails since I wasn't blocked, but I can definitely see how people would not be able to see the stage since it fills up quickly. I went to the Bellwether for the first time on 1/23. It's a nice venue, but the service leaves a lot to be desired!! Specifically, at the main bar opposite the music stage, the two women servers, before the show even started, refused to let me stand at the bar with my drink so I could check my email. The stated reason was that I was obstructing other people from getting a drink. This is a laughable concept in general, but especially so given that the place was empty, not just the bar itself, but the venue was probably only 25% filled at the time. Further, when you walked into the other bar just outside the music area, there were plenty of people standing at that bar, so clearly there was no real policy in place. I've been going to bars for 40 years, and I've never been to one where you couldn't sit or stand at the bar and enjoy your drink lol. Plus I've been to the Teragram many times which is owned by the same people, and never encountered this nonsense. And it wasn't just the absurdity of the stated "policy", if it in fact is even a policy of the venue, but the servers were rude and condescending about it!! I know this is a rock club, but you are still in the hospitality business and should treat your customers with respect! People should feel welcome, not hostility over resting their drink on a bar. PS, also skip the Looking Glass. Definitely not worth the $85. There was literally no one there. Why not lower the price and get people in there so you can sell them more drinks? read more

The Bellwether has become one of my favorite venues. I've seen a couple shows there now. The layout is very open. I've had no experience with crowd bottlenecking. There's a large bar in the lobby right when you walk through the entrance. The merch tables are easily accessible. The floor of the stage area is large for a mid-size venue, and it's easy to see the performers even from the back. Getting a drink at the floor bar is usually really easy too. Lot's of staff. Parking can be tricky, but the garage we went on the other side of 4th street (I believe the building was called the Visconti) was only $12 which seems like a steal these days. read more

Appreciated all of the welcoming staff - everyone was so helpful and nice...seemed like everyone really enjoyed working at the Bellweather :) We had a quick bite in the cafe - the pizza with pepperoni and hot honey was yummy...much better than expected. We also had the arugula salad (a little weak...small without much flavor), as well as a glass of wine and soda....all very reasonably priced. This has instantly become one of my favorite venues in LA. Parking is available right across the street in a designated lot. Literally a one minute walk away. Checking in is a breeze and all of the security staff were friendly and helpful. Upon entering, the atmosphere is surprisingly swanky. It's dimly lit (my favorite) and everything is washed in ambient blue lighting. There is a large half-moon bar where you can order one of the beers on tap, or a cocktail, or whatever your heart desires. In this case, for the Eric Andre Show Live, the merch table was set up just to the left of the bar. Up some steps and you've reached the pit. There's great visibility from pretty much wherever you are in the room, but I was lucky enough to snag a spot quite close to the stage. I'd recommend arriving at least an hour before the show starts if you want to be anywhere near the front. (There is also an upstairs section with seating.) Overall an incredible night, enhanced by the good vibes of The Bellwether itself. I look forward to coming again, even though I probably won't leave covered in cheese balls and oat milk next time. read more

Finally the Decemberist returned to LA and I was able to catch a Sunday show at The Bellwether! Sound: I thought the acoustics presented a nice full sound that wasn't too loud/distorted. It's a small venue so you'll be able to find a great spot to hear the music. I wish I was able to pop upstairs to experience the sound there but others have told me it's good there too. Parking: I was pleasantly surprised on the close proximity of the parking garage to the venue. I was also surprised the parking was $12 because I was prepared to spend a few extra dollars. Getting out of the lot wasn't too bad either. Overall I enjoyed the Bellwether and I hope to catch more shows in the future. read more

We came to the grand opening to see Phantogram. They were amazing. The Bellwether is a medium size venue with a balcony, a patio with a view, and a restaurant with a bar. There is a lot of seating for hanging out beforehand. I know it's the first night, but there are some things that need to be addressed asap: Air conditioning needs to be optimized. It felt like a sauna. I actually had to go outside to get some air and water during the set. You could see the musicians drenched in sweat. Parking is horrendous.. and we came only 30 minutes after doors opened. I followed the recommendations on their website and the sites were closed! What? Small lot across the street filled up quickly. No available street parking (read the signs because they were giving tickets!) No valet option. Parking attendants gave us wrong info on which lots were available. We spent 30+ minutes trying to find a spot. I ended up parking in a lot where it which required permits and prayed that I wouldn't get a ticket. I got lucky. I've been to hundreds of concerts and this is the worst parking situation i've ever encountered. I would do ride share next time or come very early. I will be back in a few weeks so hope it can get better. I was a little generous with my rating. read more

This was our first time going to a show at the venue and we splurged and bought Lounge passes to make sure we had early entry to be in the front row. The lounge tickets were nearly double the cost of the GA ticket (and you had to buy the lounge tickets separate from the GA tickets, so it was all in almost 3x the cost of a normal ticket). We were let in early into a small room (called the Looking Glass Lounge) with free snacks (a low quality cheese and nuts board) and paid drinks / other food items. The security was delayed in letting us into the main area, so the GA ticket holders actually got let into the space first and took the entire front rows by the time we were let in. While we did get a balcony view (small section held for lounge purchasers) there was the exact same balcony view on the other side for GA ticket holders. Hands down one of the coolest new venues to catch live music in LA!!! This place is super styled out! Love the patio! The interior design is awesome! I've seen Die Antwerp & Royel Otis here! We'll be back! Also, parking near the venue underground was a breeze!!! read more

I chose 2 stars because the description was "coulda been better" --and that matches our experience. I love the venue, all good, but the HIFI Pizza experience for dinner was a horrible! At first, I thought: great, you order online from your table, easy peasy. After waiting and waiting, and the show coming up, I went to the counter to ask about our dinner. The staff (who were completely overwhelmed) said I don't know what happened to your order. Then left me. I thought: well, that's not an appropriate answer. So when someone popped out again, I said he needs to tell me what's going on. So then they investigated and discovered my order was canceled because they ran out of our style of pizza. I didn't get a text, an email, and I wasn't called out by the staff who had my order number. Having not eaten, and the show about to start, I asked if he could just make us any kind of pizza? He said I'd have to order from scratch again. I told him that was ridiculous! I'd been waiting an hour already. He just walked away and said they were too busy. So I ordered again. While waiting people were standing there confused about their order, no one was at front of house to help, or answer questions. And when a staff member did pop out, they were clearly overwhelmed and not nice. This is a nice venue with a nice restaurant inside, and it was chaos. I should have at least received a free pizza or something! The other sad part is we brought guests from NYC and talked so highly about the venue and going to the restaurant. So disappointed. They need a front of house manager and to not run out of food, especially when you're planning to eat there and need food to endure the three hours you're spending at a concert. read more

Great location, easy parking. Love the venue size and it's acoustics. Will definitely go there to see my favorite performers. read more
