The Spicy Tuna Salad is the best thing I've ever put in my month and I'm 57 years old. I've been there twice and ordered a spicy tuna cut roll and a spicy tuna salad. They were both top notch. Next time I'll order just the salad. This salad has enough tuna on it to feed two people. read more

Nice employees but average food. Rice was overcooked/ dried out/ beef teriyaki was rubbery. Goyza was average and could have come from a frozen box of goyza at the grocery store. The only things that tasted fresh were the side salad and soup. It seems to be worse since Harbour took it over. A word of advice, when you call for a to go order, they will say they will call you when it is ready but then you will wait an hour. Just go to the restaurant to pick it up. If you want really good sushi, the only place to go is Shogun off of Sierra Hwy near Palmdale Animal Control which has a more limited and traditional menu and also unfortunately limited hours and is more expensive, but worth it. Unfortunately, the AV is largely a food desert which is frustrating. This beat a fast food restaurant but not by much. I am sure their sushi might be better than their teriyaki. read more

I discovered this place on accident last month and I've already been back twice. The sake is nice and warm and perfect and the sushi is so fresh so flavorful they have a lemon roll that is just to die for and don't get me started on their edamame and garlic, I can eat the whole bowl to myself. This particular space has been inhabited by different sushi businesses and Bluemaki is the best one that has occupied it. I think that out of the 3 sushi restaurants that have been here, Bluemaki would be my choice based on the sushi quality, selection, and flavor. Presentation is nice too. Staff could be a little friendlier, didn't quite get the warm welcome but I wasn't there to make friends anyway lol. Their sushi is great and they play great music but... If you arrive at 9pm (they close at 9:30) expect to have to power over your sushi with the smell of cleaning products. Everyone was cleaning up. Sadly I was eating solo at the bar and looking for some peace. I did not find it. I could not finish my $30 meal bc of the smell. Cleaning should begin at the time you post your restaurant closes or after your guests have all left. Why are all the staff wearing masks? Masks are dirty. Are the staff choosing to wear them? (I could not tell if the people in the kitchen were wearing them too. I'd assume if everyone in the front is wearing them, everyone in the back should be too.) My server was polite and friendly but I could never see her smile bc of that icky mask. The place looks nice, the lighting, etc. but there is so much clutter especially to the left of the sushi bar. All that should be hidden or have some out and some in storage. Their sushi to go used to come with pretty plant leaves and look like art. It no longer does. The Serrano pepper sauces are fantastic. The blue crab rolls are great. I hate the processed fake crab so unless I want to upgrade every crab roll with the blue crab options become limited. Just opened in the same spot that Big Tuna was in (west Palmdale). Went in with a group of 4 on a Sunday night at 6:30pm and we were the only people there which was great and not great I guess. Service was fantastic our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful. Visually the restaurant is beautiful. We discovered the place is owned by the same people who own Harbour (which is not my favorite) however, with that being said it was better than I expected. We were all pleased with our food the rolls seemed a bit more thought out than your normal sushi restaurant and the combo I ordered had great fish in it! I love the variety and the freshness of these rolls like the lemon salmon roll, which is to die for...or their blue crab rolls which are fresh and sweet...
