We haven't been in a while but when in the area we make it a point to stop by. We have visited quite a few times and every time you get the best service and the best tasting and fresh food. We usually go with the fish and chips platter, fish and shrimp tacos, the ceviche appetizer and salmon plates and you cannot go wrong with anything, it'll all be delicious and let's not talk about how many choices there are. I cannot say how amazing Elsie was from when she took our order to receiving the food, the in between our visit and the end, such a pleasure and she was so genuinely attentive and checking in regularly. It's not that often that I get the opportunity to sit down and eat in. But I didn't wanna wait long enough to take it home to eat on this day. I had frequently visited another location in Redondo Beach, but this was my first time coming to this location. It is very similar as far as aesthetic goes. it can hold more people than it appears. I just love that there's endless options for what to eat here just based on the amount of different ways to season your fish, the amount of fish to choose from, and the many choices of sides. To be honest, I don't even remember which seasoning I got on my fish this time because they're all good. I was just excited to have salmon that I didn't have to cook at home. I went with the peppered corn and crispy brussels sprouts as the sides. I like the way they fish is in thin slices so it is super easy to take a mouthful of the fish with the sides. The barramundi fish was so tasty and not dry at all (cajun style). Paired well with the potatoes. Also got the halibut but it was dry and needed more salt on the seasoning. Couscous tasted like curry seasoning which I wasn't expecting as it was strong. rice pilaf needed more salt or seasoning as it was a little bland. Salad with the balsamic dressing was delicious. I've lived in the South Bay for about 7 years now. This was the second restaurant I tried when I was new to the area and it's been a staple when I'm in dire need of a quick, reasonably priced, healthy meal with generous portions. Parking is a hit or miss. Obviously if you decide to come in during the lunch or dinner rush, it's harder to navigate the cramped parking lot. But either come during their down time or call ahead to place your order. Service is consistently excellent. Polite, efficient, with a touch of warmth. If I'm eating in, the staff checks in with me periodically and makes sure I'm all good at my table. In a recent visit, I waited off to the side to stay out of the staff's way, but someone at the front was handling a phone order and still managed to grab me a to-go box & plastic bag with a smile. This place has a decent amount of seating. Ambiance-wise, no dress code enforced, just casual and full of hungry patrons with a love of seafood! Although prices have changed with the times, it is still very easy to get full for less than $20. I've got a lot of love for their menu, but consider trying the: - white fish ceviche (costs a lil extra if you get the tostada) - fried fish taco plate (was under $10 after tax for years, but still holds up well in 2026 since you get 2 sizable tacos and your choice of 2 sides) - from the grill: salmon w/herb & garlic butter + 2 sides. I've changed up my regular order for this plate so many times over the years, but if one thing remains the same - the salmon is cooked perfectly. Not dry/well-done, but to a point where there's a nice char mark on the outside from the grill. The fish flakes apart beautifully without fail every time, with the inside of salmon glistening. I came with some friends and we didn't know what to order. I feel terrible for not remembering our cashier/servers name but he was more than patient and enthusiastic about explaining the menu. We went with the chef specials and were surprised at how large the portions of fish were. We had the salmon and branzino with Cajun rub. We always enjoy their food & reasonable prices. Today, there was a little mishap: i added scallops to my salad & the listed price was $10.50 but they charged me 12-something for the scallops. I asked about it & two people told me that's the price so I pointed to the menu where it shows $10.50. A third employee came & said the menu that's on the wall has the boring price. They did not update the price until I was done with my meal & was leaving. Although it's less than $2 difference, it did not feel good to have the first two employees just tell me that's the price without an adequate explanation. If you oder salad here, you may want to get the dressing on the side. My greek salad was overloaded with dressing so it was very salty so I could not finish it. The food is good so try thisnplace out. There may have been an ownership change as i saw all new set of employees today & maybe that's the reason for the price changes that are not reflected on the written menu on the wall...??? read more

Stop by the restaurant for a quick lunch and the place was already packed even before noon. It is a casual eatery with open kitchen and inside seating for 50 guests. Their menu was quite extensive and ranged from salads, tacos, wraps, to customized grill proteins (mainly fish). For this visit, I ordered Grilled Branzino with Salt and Pepper, and Side Orders of Couscous and Grilled Corn with Pepper. The branzino was grilled to perfection, it was nicely charred outside, and soft and buttery inside. The simple salt and pepper seasoning really brought out the flavor and freshness of the fish. The couscous had a very nice texture and pleasant flavor with a hint of curcumin. The lightly grilled corn was soft and juicy. The portions were generous and the price was reasonable. Definitely will visit the restaurant again soon. read more

I'm def late to the game here. This is a fave among locals and I can see why. This is fast casual specializing in fish. Like california fish grill but better in my opinion. Wraps, tacos, entrees, salads you name it...grilled and fried fish, tons of varieties and choices across a vast menu. Perfect for takeout or eating in but note that the dining room gets packed during lunch. The value is tremendous as the portions are generous and the prices great especially in today's economy. The workers are quick and professional. Even during a busy lunch time they got my food to me in the promised 15 minutes -- the kitchen staff was fast and efficient and I could see them working hard! The fish tacos are much bigger than my usual go to Rubios and the mahi is actually juicy! I also love that they have tons of sides to choose from so you can make your combo plates exactly what iou want. Salmon cilantro wrap - too sweet, too much sauce, salmon itself is not seasoned and not enough filling. Skip Mahi mahi wrap - AMAZING! This is the best thing I had here. Filling is great, especially with rice inside the wrap, side of fries was fantastic too! My fave here Salmon tacos - salmon is not seasoned here so it needs salt. It was ok. Asparagus side was good, Caesar salad side was really good. I usually love salmon but I'll stick with the mahi wrap here or the salmon plate and put salt on it. The place is clean but the employees are hit or miss. One lady working here seemed like she was having a bad day because when I went to pickup my food she would cut me off when I said "hi I'm picking up my...." And then When she went to get my food she asked me to confirm what I ordered, i said salmon wrap and she just stood there like waiting for every single side i chose for my wrap? Really odd. I gotta be honest.... I hate these kinds of places. Seafood. Fish. Yuck. not my style. Not a huge fan of mexican food either... ESPECIALLY COrn Tortillas. However, this place blew my socks off.... Got literally everything that wasn't fish and it tasted amazing. Got 2 chicken tacos. 2 Steak tacos. All on flour tortilla. Excellent. 100% I'd go back. Now if you like seafood. This place is still the spot to go. Really good portions from what I see and got to go for a bunch of people who do like seafood and they said they loved it. Way better than California fish grill. We were in the area finishing up Christmas shopping and stopped here for lunch. I've been to and ordered from the redondo beach location but I never knew this one even existed. We both loved our food. I swapped corn tortillas for flour and I wasn't disappointed. I love how they have yellow rice and salsa mixed in with the black beans. This location is pretty small and get packed quick but we were lucky to get a table. We also ordered the crab cakes (not pictured) which were just ok- they are deep fried and I like my crab cakes broiled Maryland style. When we first found blue salt fish grill in Torrance, it was absolutely fantastic - a hidden gem. The fish was fresh and flavorful, the sides were scrumptious. But the last multiple times we went things have really gone downhill including at the Redondo Beach location. The sides are more stale and soggy, the fish quality has gone down and is more dry now too. Service is good. Restaurant is fairly casual stop. Pricing is good if the quality of food is good. I want to come back to try once more and I really hope it comes back in quality soon. read more

I love that there's a wide range of options here. Love Blue Salt Fish Grill! I've been here multiple times with my son and my mom, and the food is always amazing. My son's favorite is the ahi tuna--it never disappoints. I've been coming to Blue Salt Fish for a while now and have brought my family here many times. The food is consistently good, the prices are fair, and the location is super convenient--definitely one of our go-to spots in the South Bay. That said, I had a bit of a head-scratching experience today. I placed an online order and, when I came to pick it up, asked for some salsa. I was told I'd need to pay extra for it since I didn't select it during the online order process. Fair enough in theory... but it caught me off guard, especially since there's an open salsa bar when you dine in. It wasn't a huge deal, but it felt a little nickel-and-dime-ish for something that's usually a given at places like this. I'll chalk it up to a policy thing more than anything, but it did take away from an otherwise solid experience. All that to say--I still like this place and will probably be back (because, let's be honest, the food's good). I'll just skip the online ordering next time and go the in-person route. read more

We have been on the hunt for a nice fish spot since it can be tricky to cook and most places have exorbitant prices. The amount of food that you get here for the price of a chipotle bowl is ridiculous. I was able to get two meals out of mine. AND ITS FRESH AND DELICIOUS. High quality fish (they label which ones are farmed and wild-caught) and sides. My family all got different fish and sides and there wasn't a single thing I didn't like. So many ways to customize the fish with seasonings too. We had their ceviche appetizer which was so fresh and tangy as well- just mouthwatering. The roast potatoes were especially excellent as they practically melted in my mouth. They even have wine, too! The interior is actually pretty spacious and pleasant to sit in for. It seems like they have an army of workers too because I saw around 15 workers who were all smiley and kind. I cannot wait to go back and try more!!!!!!!!! read more

Well, you get what you ask for. This is what happens when you order a steak at a fish place haha. It was very underwhelming. First of all, there is no way to get the steak medium-rare, and it tasted pretty bland. Even with the garlic butter sauce on top, which was not great, it did not do the job. The fries and corn were great and that was about it. Stick with getting seafood at this place. This steak I would give it a 2 star, but I've had other things here before and it's a 4-5. What's great about Bluesalt is their fresh catch. You can tell it's not just another corporate chain. They are well staffed and the portions and taste are fantastic. It's a bit expensive, but the customer experience makes it worth it. I like that they have the tech to know what my most recent order was just based off my account or phone number. It makes ordering my standard Mahi Mahi with pilaf rice and extra crispy fries so easy. Parking lot is a little tight sometimes, but not by any fault of the restaurant. read more

It had been years since the hubby and I dined here. It sure was busy on a Friday evening. Most of the tables were all taken except for one out of the way table by the window. It needed bussing so I asked someone to clean it while the hubby was in line. BlueSalt Fish Grill is pay-at-the-counter and they give you a number to bring back to your table. We were next to the window so we had the LA County Health Dept score of "A" posting next to us. An "A" is great. As in my previous review from 2017, still lots of choices on the menu. My safe, go-to choice was the fish and chips. 4 stars! Good batter, nicely fried, and tasty tartar sauce. I tried some of the scallops that the hubby ordered and they are delish. I'm used to homemade ceviche that a former coworker would bring to potlucks. Tried BlueSalt's and it's 3.2 stars for me. I liked it. Passed on dessert this time. I really wasn't impress with the presentation I looked like someone just dumped the long pieces of zucchini in half with no taste and over cooked. The service was very welcoming starting with the cashier and the server which is very nice but having a restaurant is more than that. Employees need to know about sanitation and this place and no supervision. The ambiance was loud. I won't come back to this restaurant anymore. read more

Our first experience here- We walk in and it's pretty busy. First thing I notice are the tightly squeezed tables. Not very comfortable looking. The chairs are metal and cold. Menu looked great! Highly recommend the fish tacos and calamari. My husband loved the fish and chips. The shrimp wrap was bland so we had to order another sauce. Desserts were good too! We will return here for the food. Just wish they would make the tables more comfortable. The service was good except for the woman who kept wanting to clear our plates before we were done eating.
