I am so disappointed. I came here and the food wasn't very good. I had such high hopes after reading the Yelp reviews. I was hungry and wanted a good meal. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I got the teriyaki chicken and beef strips combo plate with Broccoli The chicken wasn't well seasoned at all. I also had some steamed broccoli, the broccoli was sparse small which wasn't very good either. The beef strips were dry looked like they were it cut with scissors. I had it with brown rice, which.. The brown rice was good. The staff was very nice and kind, and the service was good. I may have to come back and try the Chinese chicken salad, because people liked that. Haven't been here in a long time. Looked like they closed for a bit and reopened. Decided to come here and order their salad because of their dressing. Got a SMALL salad. Instead of the chicken, I requested for avocado as a replacement...I didn't realize that they charged me for the avocado. So avocado costs more than chicken I assume? It doesn't take much labor to do that. The Gardena location never charges me that extra. I always get a large too.. it's just a few slivers of avocado also not like it's an entire whole. I feel like that "sub" button was really an "add on" option. It's ridiculous to charge extra for avocado when already I requested no meat. I left there playing $13 for a tiny a** container of just salad and some avocado. Literally just pieces of lettuce I could've just made at home. I prefer eating in as they have a self-serve fountain drinks. But, they have become a little stingy with the Chinese chicken salad dressing...this is a must. My favorite to go restaurant, that my kids will eat too. I am giving them an extra star from my last review for their consistent quality through the years. I always get the Teriyaki Chicken Deluxe which has a full Chinese chicken salad, rice and teriyaki chicken. I love their teriyaki seasoning so much because it has good flavor without feeling like it's a sugar rush. The salad is huge and I love it and the dressing. If there is any dressing left at the bottom then I will put my rice and teriyaki in the bowl so it will soak up the extra dressing. It is enough for two or three meals. I have started occasionally getting their burgers or chicken sandwiches and they are moist, flavorful, and inexpensive. I love that their fries are flavored with seasoned salt and will often ask for extra crispy fries. I probably order this at least twice a month. It is one of my comfort foods! read more

The fries felt under-cooked so some pieces didn't have the best mouth feel. While the chili was good, it wasn't enough so there were empty fries at the end of the meal. I moved to the South Bay in 2010 and have been eating at rascals for over 15 years. I placed an order for their deluxe combo (beef and white meat chicken. I made the mistake of not checking my order before leaving. 1st mistake. 2nd mistake I did not check the receipt. Got home, just chicken. I had ordered their Chinese chicken salad as well. I called them to let them know I was I my way back down and would pay the difference between the chicken teriyaki and the chicken and beef combo. I was told not to worry about it and that they would have it waiting for me. I came and was greeted by a young woman who said she remembered the phone call and would take care of it for me at which time the young man who keyed it in came over but before he could do anything what I believe to be the manager inserted herself and asked me where the meal was at which point she told me she couldn't do anything because she would need to remake it. This is one of the most asinine things I have ever heard . My walk in number was 498 , I had the receipt all she had to do was key in the difference. She insisted there was nothing she could do and I explained to her again I would like to pay the difference, get my beef and go home. She had a ridiculously bad attitude. If you have issues at work, outside of work, whatever, when you work in the service industry you should know how to handle a situation like this and resolve it in a way that has the customer feeling heard and respected. All I felt was disrespected leaving anything but satisfied. I took a picture of their menu board to give you an idea how ridiculous this whole transaction was. She charged me $12.50 for a small portion of beef. For a couple of bucks more I could have had an entire meal. I thought about confronting her about it but based on how callous she was I figured the best way of dealing with it is right here. When you are in the customer service business it doesn't matter how good your food is if the service sucks. I have spent thousands of dollars here buying large orders to feed a few hundred people as well as staff lunches. This is the last time I will purchase here. Next time I will head over to El Pollo Inka instead. I forgot they have a drive through a block east of rascals. Much better choice as far as customer service and food. If I could give Rascals a zero I would. If you own this franchise/business you might want to consider customer training for your upfront management. I've been going to the Gardena location on Artesia for so many years now, but was traveling through the area and was looking for something for a quick and predictable lunch. A crisp and cool CCS (Chinese Chicken Salad) sounded like it would hit the spot on this warm day. I've never been to this location, so I decided to stop in and take care of my CCS craving. As always, the place was pretty busy. I placed my order with the friendly cashier and my meal was ready pretty quickly. Lots of seating inside (maybe about 1/3 the size of Gardena location). Plenty of parking too but it shares with a Shakey's and a Subway. One can never go wrong with Rascal's CCS...it just has that taste and is always consistent. I've come to this location for decades, maybe once every few years. I ordered a family meal for takeout today and was severely underwhelmed, which reminded me why I only go when I've forgotten how mediocre everything is. It's very clear they don't strive to be better, just keeping the business going and cutting corners to survive. I only got chicken and no beef and it was dry and tasted like it was reheated in a microwave or kept warm, definitely not freshly grilled. No excuse to treat the signature item as an afterthought. The Chinese chicken salad used to always hit the spot, but this time even the salad dressing couldn't make up for the dry shredded chicken and humble base. I'm usually never waiting long (keep in mind it's a popular spot so lunch or dinner rushes can happen. They have a soda fountain machine so you can always grab re-fill. One thing to remember about this location: parking can be TOUGH.
