Went here for Happy Hour. 2.00 off Signature Cocktails 2.00 off Appetizers 2.00 off House Wine 2.00 off Beer Ordered the chicken Skewers and kofta for appetizers. The chicken was moist and with the right amount of crunch. The sauce needed more flavor and was watery. The kofta was tasty but again the same sauce. The shiso leaves were a good idea but didn't taste that minty herb flavor that would of been nice with the kofta. Tried the Mushroom pasta and Banana Pudding for dessert. The drinks, appetizers and main were all wonderful and fresh. The dessert we would pass on next time. The strawberry was frozen, chocolate shell was not crunchy and the banana flavor tasted artificial. Service was amazing and the staff were a attentive and professional.

Behind the DoubleTree hotel lobby is Jana. A new concept that I hope does well and lasts. They did a good job revamping the place. There's a bar lounge area and a large dining area. Went Halloween night so the employees were dressed up. The Dodger game was on which was good. They also had music which they turned off so people could enjoy the game from the bar area. They say it's Mediterranean but this could be New American or even Asian fusion as a lot of dishes had an Asian influence. The food was very good considering they've only been open for a couple weeks now. Everything was plated nicely and flavors weren't overwhelming. Service was very good. Sarah was dressed up as Poison Ivy and was very attentive. Will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Love this new spot in the south bay, We started off our night with cocktails, Typhoon and coast to coast were both amazing!! both light but still not overly sweet. You can taste they are made with good booz! We started with the two dips hummus and a cold feta dip that came with the best pita chips and veggies and Jana salad, the salad looked amazing and super yummy. We shared the Beef Kofta and mediterranean Branzino with a side of roasted carrots. WOW, the kofta was a mix of Middle eastern and Asian , LOVE IT note you need to each the shiso leaf with the meat like a taco. As for service, it was good and our waitress was super friendly and overall check back on us and give great service. Next time I will try more and come during lunch to try out the sandwiches

Jana Mediterranean drinks were absolutely delicious and will make your meter rise

Service and food was awesome! This place is a must try!!! Enjoyed their spectacular view also as I celebrated my birthday Make sure to bring a friend for a wonderful treat

No cell phones while on duty, especially in front of customers and where food is being served.

The ambiance is nice, and the food is great (if they get your order right). I've been here on a few occasions for work events and gatherings; your OG bartenders from the former Andre's lounge Steve and Pete are friendly, professional, and experienced. Our last visit, however, was disappointing to say the least. As a certified bartender/server for over two decades, I write this review (based on what I observed) for training purposes. First, the bar was in disarray. Unfortunately it's poorly designed and not bartender friendly, but bottles should be put back after use, bar tools placed back in caddy & used towels should be out of plain sight. The bartender took our drink order, but then left to take a cart back to what I assume was the kitchen, and he was gone for about 10 minutes. When he got back he had asked my friend twice if he wanted his Makers rocks with a big cube or regular ice, and twice he told him regular ice, but still got the big cube. I asked for mayo on my wrap instead of the sauce but it was delivered with the sauce. We didn't bother sending anything back, we waited a long time and were thirsty & hungry. The other person behind bar was on her phone often. She seemed inexperienced, uncertain on how to mix drinks. We also watched her pick a cap off the floor and put it back on the bottle. A patron asked her why she dumped mis-poured beers out rather than offer it to one of the regulars or a customer & that it was a waste of product. Maybe it's the restaurant's rule, but there's really no legal requirement to dump mis-pours as long as it was not served to or untouched by original customer. She carried glassware incorrectly while putting them away, they should not be held against your body/chest per health code. These things can be corrected, little details are important when it comes to the guest experience. We will continue to refer friends and colleagues to Jana as the atmosphere, food, and most of the bartenders and restaurant staff are great. Also, the hotel GM and front desk staff are wonderful, which is why we gave 4 stars overall. Jana Mediterranean is a nice restaurant for travelers, large groups, and for business networking events. We hope that it continues to be successful after some minor tweaks are made and bar/restaurant staff is provided more training.

Now that I've been here a few times, I can better comment on this hidden gem in Torrance. First the service has always been excellent. Jose is such a gentleman and Samantha is so sweet. Jana is the rebranded restaurant and has a new chef. The decor and the food has improved tremendously. Some of the dishes I've had: Feta and hummus - tasty unique flavors Braised short ribs - beef was was super tender Jidori chicken - surprisingly moist (potatoes a bit heavy though) SoCal burger - grass fed and juicy Crispy chicken sandwich - Better than the place down the street Crispy chicken skewers - crisp tempura style with a delicious sauce (Samantha's rec!) Beet salad - real roasted beets with great presentation (would be even better with some butter lettuce) Tips: Parking is validated. Also, you can use your Amex Platinum Business Hilton credit! Marketing doesn't seem to have started so come before people find out.

What used to be my favorite bar in the South Bay, the vintage lounge, has transformed completely into the all new Jana Mediterranean coastal restaurant. It has the same awesome staff, but with a way more elevated menu (thanks to new executive chef) and less expensive drinks that are fun and tasty. Vintage lounge had been getting more and more expensive and the remodeling was getting more sterile and cold. Jana is warm, fun, relatively inexpensive, and has basically saved this hotel bar/restaurant from going down the tubes. Bravo! Thank you bringing fun back to Torrance with live music, Friday DJ, all week happy hour, amazing food (really), and the same great staff.

Came here with a group of people on a Wednesday night when they have live entertainment and dancing. The food was really good. Plus they have my favorite pasta! I got the Pappardelle pasta that was bomb! I got a spring mix salad and a brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The dessert was dusted with fine pistachio pieces. So if you are allergic, let them know you are when ordering.

Went for a family & friends event. 10/10 all around. The restaurant it's was beautiful. The decor was beautiful. The set up was beautiful. The wine wall was beautiful. The menu was simple yet informative I say simple because it was only one page front and back but informative because not only did it state the item, but it gave a brief description under the item. The drinks selection was awesome. The wine selection was awesome. The food selection was a little tricky because so many things sounded good, we were having trouble picking. We ended up getting passionfruit Mojitos, a melon drink and a smoke drink. For appetizers, we had the bread, the meatballs, the Caesar salad, the John salad, the beef skewers, and the chicken skewers when I tell you, everything was so well plated, and so delicious. We all shared items and we left every plate of empty. Then we had our entrées. I don't quite remember the names so I'll just attach pictures but everything was delicious. This easily was up there with a Michelin star restaurant quality without a doubt. The short ribs fell apart. You slightly touched it with a fork and it fell apart. The potato purée was delicious. It was creamy. It was flavorful. It was everything. The choice of seasoned vegetables was A1. it was like a beets, carrot, & asparagus. The broccolini was thick and flavorful. I have never had a thick broccolini and let me tell you 10 out of 10. Like I have nothing bad to say I have only compliments and praises Roselyn was our waiter. She was excellent. She was friendly. She was attentive. She was funny. She gave awesome recommendations. The restroom was so clean so clean there was music in the restroom, like ocean waves crashing on a shore soothing. The lighting in the bathroom was amazing if you have to go in there for a makeup touchup immaculate definitely recommend 10 out of 10 by far one of the best meals I have had.

Crispy chicken skewers, beet salad, meatballs, hummus, and wraps.

I've never eaten in, but I've picked up food from here twice and have enjoyed their food at my sister's house at least one other time. The first thing I don't understand is how this place is in Torrance rather than Redondo Beach. I don't mean that I don't understand why they chose Torrance over Redondo Beach; I mean that I just don't understand the two cities' boundaries very well, because this feels like straight-up North Redondo to me. The second thing I don't understand is how this place hasn't expanded or multiplied or otherwise won the hearts and minds and stomachs of South Bayers near and far. But maybe it already has. The third thing I don't understand is why I don't come here more often. It's not that far from my sister's house, and I was dog-sitting there earlier this year. . . . I'm fresh out of things I don't understand. What I do understand is that the owners of this place (an Armenian brother and sister?) are amazing. The food is so good and fresh and flavorful. The menu is kind of all over the place, which in most cases is a red flag, but in the case of more than one restaurant owned and operated by Armenians (I'm including my cousin's restaurant before he sold it and retired), the more different items on the menu, the better. Or at least it's not a red flag. I promise. The combo deal is legit, but even without that deal, the prices are good, especially when you consider the food quality. Writing his review now makes me miss King Mediterrano even though I don't normally miss it or think about it. Those days are over. I wanted to follow up my very short review that I wrote about this restaurant over a decade ago as I have continued to frequent this restaurant and I have always enjoyed their food. What they offer here is a really nice selection of Mediterranean-based cuisine. They always use the best ingredients, and the food always arrives with a great presentation. Mostly, the food here tastes very-very good. And, isn't that the right reason you actually go to a restaurant in the first place? This is a family-owned and operated business. From this, you can really tell that everybody who works here really cares about the restaurant and the customers. Thus, it's always a great dining experience. Their menu offers a really nice selection of everything from gyro's to kebabs onto salads and the like. There's a really nice choice of both entrées and side dishes for you to choose from. The one thing I will say about this establishment, and this is certainly not a criticism, but whenever you eat here, they always keep the food coming. Whether it is the pita chips, the pita bread, the whatever, when you leave here you are going to be very-very full. This restaurant is located just off of Hawthorne Boulevard and a block from PCH. Thus, it's very easy to find. In terms of parking they have a parking lot over to one side of the building. You could always find a spot there. They also have a number of spots on the street, in front of the restaurant. This is where I always prefer to park. Easy in, easy out. Overall, if you're looking for some great Mediterranean-based food, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed.

The menu also features traditional Pakistani, Persian, and Arabic dishes, such as Beef Nihari and Haleem. After several visits, here are my thoughts on some of their grilled meats and desserts. Beef Kofta - 3/5. The kofta was a bit dry and tough. I wish it had more fat and seasoning to make it juicier and more flavorful. The grilling is also somewhat inconsistent--sometimes the kofta comes out beautifully browned, while other times it's over-charred. Grilled Fish - 4/5. This is easily my favorite item on the menu and, in my opinion, their best dish. The fish is seasoned just enough to enhance its natural flavor without overpowering it. It's grilled very well, developing a beautiful golden-brown crust while remaining moist and tender inside. Beef Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. The quality of the beef is decent, especially considering the price. Given the cut of meat they use, they've done a commendable job with the grilling. The beef has a solid seasoning base and a nice sear with just enough char to add flavor without becoming overly smoky. It's reasonably tender, though I wish it retained a bit more juiciness. Chicken Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. Very similar to the beef shish kebab. It has good flavor and is grilled well, but it could benefit from being a little juicier. Gyro - 2/5. Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment. The gyro meat on the vertical spit often appears to be rotating without enough heat to properly caramelize and crisp the exterior. As a result, the meat comes across as dry, rubbery, and lacking the rich roasted flavor that makes a great gyro. Kunafa (Knafeh) - 3/5. This dessert has both strengths and weaknesses. The cheese filling has a pleasant, slightly salty flavor and a creamy texture, and I appreciate that it isn't overly sweet. However, the syrup is underwhelming. A good kunafa should be generously coated with a fragrant sugar syrup - ideally infused with rose water or orange blossom water - to provide sweetness and aroma. I also wish the kataifi, the shredded pastry dough, were crispier and lighter to create a better contrast with the gooey cheese filling. Overall, Al Hamra Kabob Grill is one of the better places to enjoy Middle Eastern-style grilled dishes in the South Bay. While a few menu items could be improved, the grilled fish stands out as excellent, and the shish kebabs are solid choices. The owner is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm, neighborhood atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. It's not perfect, but it's a restaurant I enjoy visiting from time to time and one I'd recommend if you're craving grilled Middle Eastern flavors.
