Just walked into bluestone to grab a couple lattes and a 5lb bag of coffee but the staff is cleaning up and said the only thing available is the cold brew and they can't make coffee. Why put closing at 4pm when in reality it closes half an hour or 15mins before that? My last time here wasting my time at yet another establishment that doesn't honor its actual posted business hours. Sad because I was a routine 5lb coffee bean bag purchaser from here.
Checked this place out on a Saturday morning around 9am and it was pretty empty, which I didn't mind. I originally thought it was more of a casual cafe but once inside, it felt like a slightly elevated breakfast/brunch spot. You can either order through a server or scan the QR code at the table and order from your phone. I think it's nice to have both options. We started with drinks: a latte and a chai tea. The latte was super cute (loved the presentation in the blue mug) and tasted great. The chai was also really good. We hung out for out for some time before ordering enjoyed having the place basically to ourselves! At first, we weren't planning to order food but once the place started filling up and we saw what people were getting, we couldn't resist. We ended up splitting the breakfast bowl with smoked salmon and a side of potato wedges. The bowl had kale, warm quinoa, feta, tomatoes, and a poached egg. It was light but still satisfying. Now for the wedges.... They were unreal. Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and came with this sour cream and sweet chili sauce that was seriously addictive. I definitely ate more than my share. By the time we left, the place was packed so it's clearly a neighborhood favorite. Overall, loved the food, the vibe, and will definitely be coming back.
Stopped in while our daughter was in the hospital. We stumbled into this place by chance . Wait staff is exceptional. We ordered small plates- pancakes and side of eggs. The pancakes are delicious and served with real maple syrup ! The eggs were scrambled and were delicious and well presented. Coffee- what a great cup of made in house coffee. I drank a carafe by myself . Prices are perfect and I wish that there was one of these in Austin! Well done
This is a quaint breakfast spot to go to with the family or with girlfriends. The atmosphere is quiet and quaint. The food comes out fairly quickly. The wait staff was nice and attentive. Lemon ricotta pancakes - okay, the pancakes are pretty normal, the lemon is very necessary to make these above average. The plating is nice and pleasing to the eye. Soft chili egg scramble - Awesome chili oil flavoring, a dash of spiciness is superb with the avocado. Laura was an excellent waitress. Lovely smile and personality.
!!One of the best breakfasts ever!! Food: The soft chili scramble is to die for. It's a fluffy soft scramble which is a must if you're serving a scramble. The balance of seasoning on it, mixed with the chili oil paste surrounding the dish. It was out of this world good! Making breakfast exciting can be tough, they nailed it with this dish. I can't wait to try and mimic it at home! Service: All the young ladies were extremely kind. Especially the one who referred me to the amazing dish above! Atmosphere: Very clean modern/classic mix! Small, but cute. I will 100% be back here
Delicious brunch spot! They have a lot of vegetarian options. I got the avocado smash, which is their version of avocado toast. It was delicious! The feta packed a tangy punch and the chili flakes added the perfect amount of spice. I wish prices were a little bit cheaper. My one piece of avocado toast was $14! Additionally, although they have a parking lot, parking can get full. We found parking on the nearby street and walked over. Would definitely return to try another dish!
I walked in this morning and there was plenty of parking and no one there. It is of course a random Wednesday and fall weather just hit. I got a chai with a shot of espresso which came out piping hot and immediately. I also got a breakfast croissant and added tomatoes. That came out quickly too. My croissant was soggy and floppy so as I picked it up to take a bite all the things came sliding out. Otherwise the bacon could have been thicker and crispier, egg was cooked well and seasoned well. Two tomato slices wasn't very much. I don't even know if I was charged extra or not but if I was then two thin slices is stingy. I wish it would have come with a side of fruit.
Great coffee!!! Haven't had pumpkin spice with a twist like they make it here!! Food wasn't anything to talk about.
Such a cute spot but unfortunately was disappointed in my encounter. Tried to order through the app because there was a promo for free coffee. It wasn't working so I asked if they could help or honor it but was told they don't know how to use the app. Got a pumpkin latte and cold brew. The cold brew tasted sour and rancid and wasn't drinkable.
Bluestone Lane is an Australian-inspired coffee shop and café. Ever since they opened up in the Heights, it has become my go-to spot. The convenience of a private parking lot is a plus, but it does fill up quickly. Thankfully, street parking on Yale Street is usually available. The ambiance is welcoming, with plenty of tables inside and a large outdoor patio. Even when it gets busy, I've never had to wait long for a table. [SMOOTHIES] +Protein Mocha Smoothie (vanilla protein powder, cold brew coffee, blended with cocoa, cinnamon, almond milk, almond butter, and banana) for $10 - This is off their menu, but you can still order it in person! Weirdly, it still shows up on their online menu. Other locations of Bluestone Lane do not have this smoothie! I love this smoothie. - 5/5 [BREAKFAST] +Soft Chili Scramble with Avocado (chili shallot-folded eggs and avocado with sesame seeds topped with chili oil) for $15 - This is a small breakfast plate if you just want a small bite. I typically order this every time I go! - 5/5 While these are my go-to items, everything else on the menu is fantastic. Bluestone Lane isn't a fancy restaurant, but it prides itself on fresh ingredients and excellent coffee. The service is always great, making it an ideal spot for a quick meal or a relaxed brunch. Plus, it's kid-friendly; I often bring my baby along, stroller and all, without any issues. I would highly recommend checking them out!
Australian-influenced café that is a must-try! They miraculously have their own dedicated parking lot and ample street parking despite being located in the Heights, so parking is fairly easy. They have a really cute outdoor patio with white and blue umbrella ambiance for days with nice weather, and they all blues and whites inside with Gray Malin aerial photos of Australian beaches decorating the walls. The staff is all incredibly friendly and helpful. They recommended the Flat White and the Avocado Smash as traditional Australian favorites, so that's what I got! I added bacon and poached egg, which made it particularly scrumptious. The plate was creatively presented with some sort of avocado purée surrounding the main dish, and there was also a little something that added a slight kick to the flavor. I'm normally a cappuccino drinker, but the flat white was delicious! A less airy alternative to the cappuccino according to the waiter, and I'd agree. It was very well made. I ordered a side of heirloom carrots (because why don't more places do carrots?!) but had to take them home because I was too full from my meal. But also delicious! I plan on returning soon!
Cute name. Nice, clean interior. Our server took our order, but seemed largely bored and disinterested in the whole affair. My friend ordered berries that never came. She died a little on the inside. My "soft" scramble was anything but cooked as claimed. Hard and lacking any impressionable flavor, Bluestone Lane isn't one I would return to for a delicious breakfast.

Came here to grab a quick drink after a recent Walgreens haul. There's a Walgreens and a CVS here, which is literally my couponing dream come true. It looked like a busy morning for them, but the service moved at a reasonable pace--neither exceptionally fast nor particularly slow. My BF and I tried the Montauk Mint Collection: Mint Coconut Cream Cold Brew. Unfortunately, it landed pretty squarely in the middle for both of us. The drink had a strange graininess, and it was sweeter than I'd prefer. My BF summed it up as, "too much mint, not enough coffee." I wouldn't say it was bad, but I also can't say it was particularly great. That being said, the cold brew itself was definitely doing its job. The coffee was pretty potent, and after a few sips, I could actually feel my heart rate pick up a bit. There was also more ice than I personally prefer, although the drink didn't taste diluted, so I can understand the icy contribution. Update: The coffee gave me a stomachache a short while later. Maybe it was the dairy since I'm mildly lactose intolerant, but I drink milk pretty regularly despite that, so I'm completely unsure what caused it. Maybe the caffeine was just too strong for me--either way, my stomach was not a fan. At $7 for such a small cup, I didn't feel like the experience justified the price. We wouldn't order this particular drink again. Overall, pretty mid-tier for us. read more
We finally tried Bluestone Lane! Of course when I go, I'm only craving potato's and pancakes. Easiest meal. My fried got the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were good, and beautifully presented. Our waitress was so kind! I was I had caught her name but she was lovely, patient and very good personable. I also ordered their seasonable iced pumpkin latte and it was so good! I definitely enjoyed it. Cute lil spot! Definitely should try. read more
A little taste of Australia here in Houston. When we sat and perused the menu we were skeptical. However, I was happy to be proven wrong. The mango matcha was delightful. They don't have coconut milk but offered to add a bit of coconut cream to it for me which made the drink come together for me. Prosciutto and burrata was pretty good. I was happy with that selection. The lemon ricotta pancakes were okay. Added a bit of lemons which I had asked for earlier and it was elevated. Honestly, maybe the best part of the day was the service we received. Karina was so kind, and sweet. Also she was patient to engage in a very ADHD fueled conversation with us! Overall, it was a decent experience but I think more so to great company. Honestly, some of the worst coffee I've ever had in my life and we ordered three different ones cold brew, cappuccino, and chai... all watery, tasted like dishwasher, and after two sips, they all went in the trash. $ wasted read more

The cafe itself is really charming. It was raining the day we went but there was plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The chai latte was delicious!! I also ordered the chili egg meal and it was pretty yummy. To be honest, I expected a bowl of actual chili but it's not that. Still yummy though. read more

Cute spot in the heights. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon at 2 PM and there were only a few tables occupied. Staff was prompt to come by and take order. Food didn't take too long. Had the BL Burrito and it was delicious. We sat inside since it was windy; but this spot has a nice outdoor patio we can't wait to enjoy next time we go... (yes, will be back!). Enjoy! read more

I found bluestone lane through Instagram and it looked delicious as well as super instagrammable! We decided to go as a group of friends on a Saturday at noon. We had a reservation just to be safe for 5 people. I got the veggie - power bowl which was really good! It was well seasoned as well as w the dressing. I also got a chai latte. Both were delicious and so beautiful! We took many pics of the food! Note there is a parking lot but normally is full, there's street parking behind the place that is free on the weekend I think - I believe it's heights blvd. read more

Food was great, we both ordered the burrito. Only complain would be that there should be options for sides since there are potatoes in the burrito, a side of potatoes want needed. Coffees were amazing! We had magic's and both great! Place is kind of pricey but overall a good stop. read more

I'm a sucker for new coffee spots and knew I had to check out Bluestone once I saw it pop up all over social media. We arrived at the tail end of the breakfast/lunch crowd on a weekday and was seated immediately. Shortly after the place thinned out almost completely. Customer service was great from start to finish. Our initial server was still learning the menu but she gave us some suggestions. The interior was very aesthetically pleasing as well. Being we were in a Australian based coffee shop, I went with the most Aussie thing I could find and went with the Aussie Iced Latte. It was definitely pic worthy but it did not pack the coffee punch I was looking for. That being said, it was a nice dessert like coffee that hit the spot on that hot summer day. For food, the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes were calling my name and it came highly recommended. Not only were these plated beautifully, they also were very delicious. They were nice and pillowy soft with just enough slight crisp from the griddle. It was topped with ricotta and a lemon curd that was a perfect compliment to the pancake. I did not even use the syrup that came with the dish. I tried a bite of the Avocado Smash and that was one of the better avocado toasts I have had in awhile. I will most definitely be back to make my way through their coffee and food menu without a doubt! read more
Yummy breakfast spot!! I've heard great things about Bluestone Lane and came here on a Saturday morning after running a 5k race. The interior and patio are both super cute! We were a little disappointed after downloading the app for a free drinks but the discount only applies if you order online - which wasn't worth it after already being seated. (Just a reason to come back!). The food was excellent as well as the service. I had the BLATE which was good but next time may just order a few pastries and coffee's! Glad to have this addition in the neighborhood. read more
Not sure why this establishment is unclaimed and states Closed, it's very much open and full of patrons. But anyways..... Yum! Yum! Yum! I liked everything about this cafe. Great outdoor seating, great indoor seating. Love the blue and white decor. The food, drink quality and presentation are all wonderful. Very cute cafe for breakfast and lunch. Came here for breakfast/brunch at 9am on a Saturday and had no issue with parking/being seated immediately. Overall, service was friendly when they came by, but we went long periods without anyone coming over when we would have wanted to order another drink (they eventually did, of course). Turns out you can also place orders via their website (scan QR specific to your table once seated), so that probably is the way to go...wish someone told us that sooner. Oh well! To kick off the caffeine fix, I ordered the flat white, which was beautifully prepared and presented. The coffee was smooth with no bitterness. Sugar is available upon request. For the meal, I ordered the BL Burrito - as some other Yelpers have noted, the burrito is hearty and filling, but it comes with a "small" side of potatoes (probably actually what a serving should be, but looks comical on the large plate). But never fear, the burrito has more delicious spuds inside. To wrap things up, I ended with an iced chai latte - not sure if there was any actual chai in the latte, but it was delicious nonetheless. All in all, a cute place to come grab a delicious coffee with a nice breakfast/lunch. Food options are on the lighter side, which is nice. read more

A fantastic place to grab brunch in the rice village area! It can get a little crowded on weekends and occasionally we hit a small wait time but the food is definitely worth the wait. Staff is friendly and helpful and the iced lattes are the perfect amount of sweet. The ambiance is very nice and open and parking is free right in the garage next door for a couple hours. read more

I went back for brunch and tried their breakfast menu. I loved the green eggs and the lemon ricotta pancakes. Also, I tried the golden latte, and it hit the spot if you like turmeric and cinnamon deliciousness. Our server was super sweet and helped us with the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning - a cute spot to grab some drinks and food if you are shopping in the area. read more

Coming in with a group of four on a Saturday at 11am, we were seated immediately even though our whole party had not yet shown up. This place is delish and the atmosphere is bright and lovely; the perfect place for a weekend brunch. I ordered the Soft Chili Scramble with Avocado, which was served on toast, and it was served on multigrain toast. It was delicious, filling, and nutritious! As someone who likes spicy food, the touch of chili sauce was a great addition. I also tried the potato wedges and they were served with ketchup and a sour cream and chili sauce...was not expecting to like the sauce that much! I usually don't eat sour cream but this sauce went really well with the crispy potatoes. The food was out pretty quickly after we ordered and our server was great! Service was good, no wait, definitely open and bright space with white and blues decor. My waitress was super nice and courteous. I wanted breakfast, so I saw the lemon ricotta pancakes on the site and wanted to try it. I don't even pancakes, but I LOVED IT! Wished it had a little more lemon, but the maple syrup helped.
