We frequent Crafthouse. It's a laidback, neighborhood friendly restaurant and bar with good food and drinks. The staff is friendly. The bartop is nice to grab a quick lunch or happy hour. It's generally locals with good conversations to be had. The burgers are great, there's always a monthly special. I'm a longtime fan of the potato soup. My sons generally order salmon or chicken. I visited for lunch with two other people. When we entered, only three other tables were taken. We were seated promptly but then waited about 15 minutes to be greeted and get our drink order. My group all ordered burgers and fries. It took over 30 minutes and I had to ask several times to refill my tea. Now, the food was good but I still don't understand why it took so long. Cypress has become one of my favorite destinations for food explorations and the myriad of comfort food options certainly includes R&R, which might one of the area's better burger spots. They have the right mix of quality customer service, an inviting ambiance, an extensive selection of drinks, and a nice diverse range of mouthwatering burger choices. Whether it's for a date or a casual meal, there is plenty of seating for both indoor and outdoor. With a big bar in the front, and spacious seating good enough for groups, families, and everything in between. The bathrooms are also clean and the parking is plentiful. The burgers come as advertised: juicy patties, a nice selection of toppings, and hefty enough to satisfy the hungriest of folks. I appreciate the crispy fries and onion rings, along with a any of their extensive beers on tap. They are obviously more than just a burger joint, serving ribeye steaks, boudin balls, and a limited selection of seafood. I've been happy with the service and appreciate the fact they have accommodated my large groups during every experience. Prices are pretty standard and the wait time is not significant enough to notice. Whether it's a weekday or a weekend, there's never a bad time to be had at a place like R&R. read more

Let me start off and say that the service was absolutely fabulous. The waiter was very attentive we couldn't have asked for more. We did order some Boudin rolls and egg rolls and they were pretty good but be careful. They're extremely hot. Some of us burnt the top of our mouths. We also had onion rings, which to me were not very flavorful. They were just battered and fried no seasoning at all. I ordered the fish basket with broccoli and the broccoli was absolutely wonderful. The fish looked to come out of a box. Nothing to write home about. My husband got a Pepe burger and he said it was OK. We ordered dinner on Friday night: two cheeseburgers , chili and some meatballs. French fries are decent, not hot, but not cold. Onion rings were breaded with something so hard that they were difficult to eat would not order again. $16 for FOUR golf ball sized meatballs? Sauce was Heinz 57. Will not order again as the menu does not specify the weight of the burgers, the # of the meatballs or the quantity of the chili. I felt it was a dicey menu but ordered anyway at the request of my husband No I did not call. I was trying to recover dinner. DoorDash delivered and left on porch without texting me. Chili: not hot, granular beef, clearly not a BOWL. Cheeseburgers were dry and MAYBE a third of a pound. Husband couldn't finish it as it was so dry. The coleslaw was 2 tablespoons of Kroger coleslaw at Best. If I choose not to get fries, I would expect at least get a decent serving of homemade coleslaw. This was not a decent product, and there was not a full serving there. So for $100, we got two terrible cheeseburgers, not even a full serving of chili, and meatballs that were not even worth half the price. We try to buy local. We try to shop local. But when you're being served mediocre food by the people you are trying to support? Not good. read more

So many great reasons to visit this place! This deserves a TV spotlight! It's that good! The food is outstanding! There isn't anything we have tried that we haven't loved. Definitely get the Boudin Roll-ups as an appetizer. It's not a skimpy size and not greasy, yet so crispy. I could eat them as a meal. Other suggestions are the creative burgers, like the Pepe, which has jalapeño, bacon, pepper jack, caramelized onions and an ancho chili mayo. So good!! I love the Dixie pulled pork tacos too. Every menu item is great and they have creative additions all the time. Definitely get the bread pudding for dessert. It's amazing!! The ambiance is super chill but nice. We love bringing our dog to the patio. They bring water and when the weather is nice, it's a great place to hang. Finally, the service is wonderful too! Every server we have ever had has a great attitude and is eager to please. They also give fun coupons for your first few visits to encourage you to come back. I've been to this grill several times and I was absolutely amazed with their burger. Their burgers are perfect, cooked to order whether you like it well done or medium, or whatever you like. They come out hot and juicy and I always have to get an extra plate to eat it with knife and fork. Otherwise I make a huge mess. Their fries and onion rings are Frigg'n deliciously awesome. I don't drink alcohol very often but they have a huge selection of whatever you like. You are seated where you want when it's low traffic, but I'm guessing when they are hopping you'll get whatever they can provide. Everyone that works here are very friendly and make you feel at home. I have to admit I've gone back a couple times for one particular waitress's smile and charm. The grill is cozy and also has seating outside . I believe they have live music on certain nights. We have been several times and unfortunately it seems that they are becoming like Subway- there was such a skimpy portion of meat/cheese on our Philly sandwiches that if I had eaten it with the bread you wouldn't have been able to tell there was anything between the roll. I had this issue when I ordered the Cubano, but I had never had one before and was told that sometimes those sandwiches are very thin. When my husband mentioned that the sandwiches seemed to have less in them than previous visits (where we ordered the same thing) she said it was because of the cooks in the back and Monday was the head chefs day off. So....do we need to know the staff schedule to know whether or not to visit on certain days? The burger that was ordered was decent, but $18 for a bacon cheeseburger it should be a decent size. I also noticed that the bartender couldn't be bothered to look up from her phone to acknowledge and welcome people in and one lady had to go down and flag someone down to get help after standing at the front for several minutes. A comedy of errors that I am assured is not the norm. I decided to start with a frozen margarita flight. That's pretty rare for this bourbon lover. And...the machine is still freezing so it's water. Tasted when they were melted milkshake consistency & all 4 flavors were sugar bombs. The replacement shaken unflavored margarita was tasty if low alcohol. Thank goodness we ordered the SMALL onion rings - because the large would feed a family of 5! Inconsistencies in seasoning was frustrating but the "chicken fried " texture was really good. Burgers. It's a bad sign when medium well & medium rare come out the same. Cold bacon to boot. Ice cold. The "remake " was better but lacking ANY seasoning. Get the fries extra crispy! The normal fries were rather flaccid. Service was good but this many mistakes when the restaurant was 90% empty is not great. Nothing but apologies. Superb juicy flavorful roasted poblano burger with huge lettuce leaves subbed for the bun gave me the satisfaction of a great grilled burger without the usual added carbs. Nice to have a friendly grill with super food where I can go and stay on my eating plan and still satisfy a craving! read more

We ordered crawfish queso fries. There were literally 2 pieces of crawfish found in the fries. We were all looking forward to these as an appetizer. Maybe we just got the wrong spoonful of queso. Lol. Will try again 2nd They do not have any name brands sodas. I'm all for offering the other but some people just like the brands. Can you at least offer a few for those who prefer that. I loved Galina, the waiter, she was so great and patient taking care of a large crowd of folks! We came here to try the burgers and they definitely had a large menu of options to choose from. I ended up going with the Bubba, as it came with the house made chili, grilled onions and frito chips. Here is where my four star vs 5 star comes in. The burger was good, we ordered it medium and it was cooked a little over, but still well seasoned, and the chili, I wanted more chili! For the cost of the burger, there wasn't a ton of chili on it, and when I eat a chili burger, I need it to be messy!!! We also ordered the onion rings, and I would 100% go for the rings again. They were perfectly breaded seasoned and cooked, had a great crunch/crisp on them to go great with the burger. I would love to try the fries as well next time, bc one of my friends got them and they look homemade and delicious! Will be coming back to try some other burgers with Galina! read more

Always great service and the food is consistently fresh and very good. I often fine here alone and the large bar offers a great opportunity to meet others dining alone. They have red great bartenders as well as servers for when I bring the family or large groups. The Cuban sandwich is the best I've had outside of Miami. read more

Pros: This place is nothing special to look at from the outside apart from the very nice doors and plants, but a gem on the inside! Beautiful bar, awesome patio area, nice brick walls which are NOT cluttered with a bunch of signs. Our food was very good. After running errands all day and having had only breakfast, I came home starving and asked hubby to go out to an early-ish dinner. We picked an Italian place that we hadn't been to in a long while. Thinking it was safe to show up without a reservation, we found how wrong we were when the hostess said the wait time would be 1.5 hrs. So then we walked over to pizza joint down the strip and they had a 30 min wait. Being extra hungry and needing some food as soon as possible, I called R&R Crafthouse to inquire on their wait time. The hostess told me there was 1 open table currently and I gave her my name and told her we would be there in less than 5 minutes. We arrived and were promptly seated (thank you!). Our server Freddy is a hoot; super friendly, jolly and treated us like lifelong best friends. For the appetizer, we had the pepper jack boudin balls. omg, these were so good. The order comes with 3 deep fried balls. The boudin was a soft, meaty mix (not full of rice like what I normally expect from boudin) and then there's a gooey melty pepper jack cheese in the middle. Definitely get this if it's on the menu (it's on their current Mardi Gras special menu). For our entrees, my hubby had the Pablo burger. It had roasted poblano peppers and loaded with avocado slices. Packed with flavor. I had the Gulf Coast blackened salmon with a side of asparagus and corn spinach medley. Although the salmon was cooked more than I would have preferred (I like mine closer to the rare side -- I didn't know but you can ask for it seared rare), it had a great flavor. We finished all our food and had no space for dessert. Freddy gave us some Dove chocolate hearts (from his birthday stash) so that was a great ending to our meal. read more

Anything that has craft in its title is going to catch my attention. It invokes the possibility of thoughtfully designed food and beverage above the standard. Some places struggle to live up to the name but not R & R. Our tacos and burgers were outstanding. Burgers with jam have become my jam and this version nestled in top of some fig jam was satisfying. Tacos too were filling but the star of the show are their amazing onion rings, battered not breaded. The only hiccup was mine. Order the cheese curds Buffalo style and they weren't short in the Buffalo. They were swimming in it which scorched my wimpy tongue and took me out of play for a good ten minutes. The waitress was a good sport and brought me a glass of milk to put out the fire. This is a nice, rustic sports bar if sports bars were quiet. Very enjoyable. read more

Indeed it does. A handmade meatball stuffed with cheese, wrapped with bacon and then grilled to perfection. That alone should bring in hurds of gem seekers. And then the bigger version of that idea is the burger itself. No silly not a meatball burger but the fresh meat that it came from. There "ain't no" frozen patties here! The burgers here alone are a 5 star experience. Officially I consider their burgers the best in all of Cypress. Gem seekers! Where are you?! Now get this. A hot dog! A basic hot dog made absolutely "BadAss" right here! Get that baby with chili and extra diced fresh jalapenos and I promise you that you will definitely make this your favorite spot. Come on Gemmies pay attention here! Now. Get ready for my favorite reason that makes this place a gem seekers requirement to eat here! Margarita's, Frozen Jack & Cokes, and outstanding Old Fashions! Yes yes yes! Scroll or don't, but stop and eat. I've been slacking and haven't left a review and this is my second time eating here. It's amazing , atmosphere amazing, drinks amazing. Don't let the outside fool you. Food: App- the meatball thingy's (forgot name) are amazing. Soups: we had all of them, literally. They are all 100% worthy of every taste bud. But my personal favorite was the tomato basil. Fresh ingredients you can taste over the traditional "cream". Potato soup was fire too. Pepe Burger- amazing flavor, added the sauce from the ball Hindus to give it a bit more salt. But the fresh peppers etc etc were awesome. Literally I've never had a bad meal here. Don't even remember what I ate the first time. Service: Mary Claire was as sweet as can be. She was sweet to my daughter (2yr) as well as myself and my beautiful woman as we swam through a couple Margaritas celebrating the weekend. :) (don't worry, my big brother was the DD). I had a great time eating at R&R. I have a severe peanut allergy so I am nervous to try new restaurants but the staff at R&R were very understanding and made sure I felt comfortable order anything on the menu. The staff were all friendly and accommodating, especially our server Evelyn who did a great job. For my appetizers I had the onion rings they had a thin breading which I loved. We also tried the boudin roll ups and they were great. For the entree I had a BYOB (build your own burger) it was so good all of the ingredients were fresh and burger was seasoned very well. They also had specialty burgers my husband got the Pablo which he said was very good. To drink I had their drink of the month which was a frozen lemon drop martini. It was amazing!!! To finish off the night with dessert we had bread pudding with ice cream on top. That was incredible. I will for sure be going back again. read more

The service was fine but when placing our order there was a problem. We wanted to split the chicken tacos but wanted 1 flour and 1 corn tortilla. The waitress insisted this was not possible and we asked if we could just order a corn one on the side. She said yes but it would cost $2.00 for 1 tortilla. We asked to speak to the manager who offered to give us a corn and a flour but for only a $1.00 up charge and explained the reasoning behind the charge. This charge seems too much when just wanting a different tortilla. The waitresses was not accommodating at all and if she would have offered to ask the manager in the beginning it might have helped. The food was great and I will return but the lack of customer service was noted. I have eaten here many times over the years and NEVER left feeling this way. read more
