(Review from 8/8/2019: Transferred from closed secondary account.)…read more *This place is a lovely, unique restaurant and bar. I believe they are privately owned and operated. They offer daily specials, weekly trivia contests, and a live music. Entertainers generally play live music several nights a week. Sinclairs host mostly acoustic performers, mainly on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Most of the entertainers feature guitar playing solo artists in the bar area. As for the food... it's all pretty tasty. Served in an upscale fashion. And worth mentioning is THE ABSOLUTE BEST MEATLOAF I have ever eaten outside of my own kitchen; and yes, possibly even better than my own... which speaks volumes because I'm generally an excellent cook and extremely particular diner. (Not bragging - just emphasizing that my standards are high). This meatloaf is hearty, rich, and moist, with a firm meaty texture (Not over done with fillers). It's cut generously and served over freshly mashed potatoes topped with a complex & flavorful sauce I'd liken to a rich brown gravy with a hint of herbs & possibly a tad bit of steak sauce for good measure... Its the star. I just wished they served this on their daily menu! Speaking of... their entire menu is thoughtfully made, and the chef deserves major kudos for their talents in the kitchen. I will go with friends in tow to enjoy a night off in the kitchen, to enjoy some of the best meals our city has to offer. Looking for something do? Sports Watch Parties are a good time: Sinclair's serve as the neighborhood hub when it comes to watching our very own Kansas City Chiefs play. They will also host other major local or national sporting events. If sports aren't your thing, try your hand at trivia night on Mondays. You'll be glad you didn't stay home!

A food truck can only carry so much and they already state product does run out and to get there as soon as you can to make sure you get what you want. Still the best fish and chips on this side of the pond. Just remember that every business has a bad day. If you happen to be there on that day, please don't just jump into a review that might impact this business in a negative way without giving them a chance to change your mind. Also consider that some customers have more bad luck than others or shouldn't have tried On The Hook in the first place. I will still give them SIX STARS ****** because they deserve the best review they may have ever had.

It almost appears that the filets were cut in half. The batter is good if it's not more than the actual fish. When we last visited the truck, we purchased 3 fish and chips meals and asked for malt vinegar for all 3. We received ONE packet for each meal of '3 filets'. The fries were good though. With the rise in cost and getting less portions, I doubt we'll be back any time soon unless they start making the meals appropriate for the charge. Oh well, it was good while it lasted. I do hope they bring back the larger filets to bring back regular customers.

Declined the option for fruit on either but the maple syrup and powder sugar provided enough. Topped it off with a small glass of orange juice. Definitely a family style dinner. It seemed to be placed under a heat lamp until the meat was dried out, than slathed with brown gravy just before serving. I received one carrot, a piece of potato and mashed potatoes drowned in brown gravy. Edible, but not worth what we were charged. For me, the highlight was going to be Apple Cobbler a la Mode. The presentation was spectacular, but the menu clearly stated that this was baked in their kitchen. I took one spoonful and it was still partially frozen. I sent it back, and was told it would be put back in the oven, but it was back in two minutes, and the plate was piping hot. I asked if went back into the oven, and was told it was put into a microwave oven. It was at best luke warm, so I ate the ice cream and left the entire cobbler, less two small spoonfuls, on the table. I was offered a to go box, which I refused. I was there with my sons, who didn't want me to make a scene. Had I been there by myself, I would have had a long, difficult conversation with the manager. I may go back for breakfast (which is served all day), but not for lunch or dinner. I would have gotten the same level of food if I bought a Healthy Choice frozen dinner.
