I dined at Bluewater bistro for my birthday lunch. It was so wonderful. I sat outside with an amazing view and enjoyed a Mimosa. I ordered the French onion soup, there speciality. Loved how the cheese is bubbly and dripping all over the bowl :-) The broth was tasty. I ordered the stuffed mahi-mahi with lump crabmeat. So delicious! Fish was tender and flaky. Crabmeat plentiful and sweet. It came on a bed of delicious mashed potatoes with some asparagus spears. Had a mango sauce and a Lemon butter sauce. So perfect with the fish and asparagus. The service was very attentive and timely. They have a good champagne list to enjoy, or a split as I did ,with orange juice. Mimosa!This place is definitely a must if you are in Leschi. read more

Good news: this place has AC and usually has tables available. But if you're in for a relaxing evening...maybe try another place. Went this week for dinner to avoid the heat. Made a reservation on OpenTable w/out issue and was immediately seated. Service was prompt and great and friendly. But everything showed up so fast, it was like it was literally waiting in the kitchen for us to order. We ordered a caprese salad and a cocktail. Salad showed up WAAAAY before the cocktail and before we were done w/ the salad, the entrees were there. Ordered the pear/gorgonzola ravioli and rockfish. The ravioli was nothing more than regular cheese ravioli with sliced pear and a cheesy sauce on top. Very lackluster. The rockfish was fried on top of crisp green beans and some fingerling potatoes. Such little caper/butter sauce...you wouldn't even know it was there unless it said on the menu. I wasn't quite done with my veggies before my plate was cleared and without even asking if we wanted dessert, the check was placed down. BluWater Leschi is a pub-style restaurant with a diverse range of higher-than pub quality food and an amazing view of Lake Washington. The restaurant is located at the south end of the main Leschi shopping area, with its own parking area and both indoor and outdoor tables. The menu is quite broad, offering sandwiches and burgers but also pizza, pasta, steaks and seafood. The diverse range meant I had several options I would have enjoyed. Food quality seems higher than expected given price/location/style. I had a prime rib which was great - moist and juicy. It came with basic fries, but at least they did have vinegar. I had started with soup (Chowder) which was fine, and my dessert was Blackberry cobbler, which was also superb. Service was friendly and helpful, and covid-19 safety protocols seemed to be followed well. I chose here because this restaurant was newly opened today for eat-in after we got to Phase 1.5 post-covid, and it was great to see a bunch of other people there and staff who were happy to be back. I had eaten at BluWater downtown before, but this location has a great view in addition to good food. Recommended. read more

I have gone to this restaurant many times in the last 50 years. Tonight I went there, ordered fish and chips. Within 30 minutes of eating my husband and I began having diarrhea and vomiting. When I arrived home, I called back to let the restaurant know there might be a problem with the food. The person who answered the phone stated that they were in the middle of the dinner rush and she was too busy to hear my concern. I attempted to explain that she could have a serious problem with the fish. She asked for my email so she could have the manager email me. I was not asking for a refund- I was trying to alert the restaurant to a problem. I am shocked that they would be too busy to hear a serious concern of this nature. read more

February 17, 2018 We came here as a group for a local friends birthday. She had made reservations in advance requesting a table with a view. When we arrived the staff was confused about our reservation and the manager stepped in (while the hostess was already preparing a table) and offered us a table not near the window. After a few minutes of confusion, we were moved and sat at a table to the side of the window. (Even though there was another better option, which they later sat a family of 4 at). Our waiter Todd lacked enthusiasm and although not rude, he was not overly friendly to our group. We had some appetizers. The chicken satay was ok. The cream cheese puff were good. The cheese pizza was hot and good. Dinner: The burger and fries were nothing amazing. Fries were hot. The rockfish was delicious. Fish and chips were disappointing. The clam chowder lacked in everything. No flavor. Not a creamy texture. Needed salt and seasoning! Hunter & gather pizza was just ok. And the ribs were grisly. I would avoid ordering alcoholic beverages as they are so weak and expensive. The bloody Mary is slightly above average. Vodka tonics are mostly tonic. Service lacked. Perhaps our group was too overwhelming. But groups are money makers and service should be exceptional!..And it wasn't. We did visit a second time that week and the service was definitely better but the food was just mediocre. The restaurant is nicely located in Leschi with free parking and has views of the marina and Lake Washington. Plenty of seating. The bar is nice and has a shuffle board, multiple tv's and pool table. We did enjoy the sitting area by the view place. There is also outside seating and they have heaters. Overall this place just misses the mark for me. Decent but nothing worth bookmarking. Has the potential to be a great venue with a little bit more training and a better chef with a stronger vision. read more

It took 15 mins for the waitress to give us the menu. Half an hour for the bread and butter. Another half for our appetizers. She saw our appetizers were done and asked "what else sounds good?" but we have been waiting for the main course which were ordered the same time as the appetizers. Took another 15 or 20 before our check came (after asking for it). Clam chowder was sour. Ceviche was all onions and tomatoes - had a lot of chips though lol. Crab mac and cheese was good actually, decent amount of crab for the price. Mussels were delicious. Overall, food was okay other than my clam chowder but service is very bad. We were excited to try this place based on the pictures online, we originally came for the crab legs & unfortunately they were not on the menu. But we still decided to give it a try and ordered the following: Cheese plate- had two tiny pieces of cheese, a couple berries, grapes and 3 slices of bread. Overpriced and I feel it should've had more cheese hence the cheese plate title. Mussels- lacked flavor & were served with no spoon. Blu rib dip- meat was blue, lacked flavor & asked for a soup for the side and we were charged for it when it's supposed to be complimentary. Also soup tasted burnt. Breaded rockfish- too oily and crust was doughy. Fries- we don't know they never came. Overall, food experience was not good , service was okay our waitress rarely came to our table but when she did she was sweet, that's the only reason I'm giving it a two star. read more

The waitresses were super friendly. They seated us promptly and brought water, menus and napkins and even a little slice of banana bread! The dividers between booths was very nice touch during these covid times. I ordered the crab cakes Benedict and a virgin bloody Mary. My guy ordered the chorizo bowl. Both were beautifully presented. My potatoes came out still steaming so I know my food was freshly prepared. Everything was perfect and I have zero complaints. The bathroom was fully stocked as well and very clean, which is always important to me. I will definitely go back! Thank you ladies for the excellent service for our Sunday brunch. read more

BluWater Bistro is located right on Lake Washington, offering incredible views. It's cool how there are individual TVs at every booth along the window tables so you're never missing an important sporting event. There are a bunch of TVs in the restaurant too so if you're looking for a spot to watch the game, BluWater is a decent spot. There's a separate bar area as soon as you walk into the restaurant too. The service here is a tad on the slow side. I'm not sure if it was because we had a large party or what. They probably wanted to serve us all at the same time. I did recognize a table getting their food delivered well before we got ours even though they were seated after us. I decided to split a chicken cobb salad and I was really impressed with the portion size. Maybe they give you more if you ask them to split an order? The salad was HUGE for a half-sized order! It's nice how avocados came with the salad but they were not ripe at all. The bacon bits were over-fried too. I also got a cup of clam chowder and thought it was ok. It was creamy and I thought the soup was decent. Overall, BluWater is a decent restaurant if you want to dine with nice views of Lake Washington, catch a sporting event and have gigantic portions of food. I had such high hopes for this restaurant. Location was beautiful and the menu SOUNDED amazing. Except: My sisters salmon street tacos (Cajun King salmon tacos, creole seasoned,corn torillas, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, habernero coleslaw)had absolutely no flavor. The meat looked blanched. There was not a speck of any seasoning, let alone creole. My NY came out over cooked and tough. I asked for medium rare, and it was maybe medium well. My potatoes came out cold and dry, my green beans were soggy. Our drinks were all watered down and not well made. For 2 people to eat dinner and have a couple of drinks each to spend $139 for the food to be terrible?! Unacceptable. The only thing good was the service; but she was over seated and stressed the entire night. She did the best she could but it was pretty sad to see her barely able to keep up. Do better. read more

We spent Easter here and it was fun and the food was tasty. We were seated outside, and in the sunshine, the temperature was perfect. After the sun started to retreat behind trees, it did get chilly. Parking on this holiday was also challenging although our 3 parties all managed to find a spot. BluWater has a limited menu, but we were all able to find something we wanted. The food was good as usual. One odd thing: a woman was walking around asking if we wanted individually wrapped decorated cookies which stayed "Happy Easter!" I thought it was part of the brunch and took one. Then the woman said "Great, they're $5 each. I'll have the server add it to your bill." Although the cookie was delicious, had I known it wasn't included in our $300 breakfast bill,!i would've passed. They were being sold by a nearby shop, and not part of BluWater Bistro. BluWater Bistro offers much more substantial dessert options as well. In any case, I don't know that I'd book this place for brunch as $300 for 5 people was a little steep. You definitely pay for the location and ambiance. And the service was excellent. But we won't be returning her for a special brunch anytime soon. read more

I tried several times to make a reservation for a big group. I was told to send an email which I did. I never heard back. I sent follow up emails. I called a few times for the owner and for the restaurant manager; never available so I left messafes; no return phone calls. I went in person to try to talk to someone. Very poor customer service. Not attentive at all. While I was in the middle of speaking to the hostess, I believe it was the owner that came and told her to come with him and just left me there in the middle of a conversation. I only ate there once; it was OK. I heard that the service level has gone down hill. read more

First of all, not sure why this place overall has 3 stars -- it was a pleasure visiting for the first time! My guy friends and I decided to meet yesterday evening after work. We sat in the patio area (they had quite a few arrangements in terms of outdoor seating which was nice!) We had a nice view of the water, boats and a faded sunset with the pink and orange colors. We even witnessed a blood orange moon!! It was EPIC :D I had the blackberry drop which was amazing! Subtle in taste. We shared the Mediterranean platter! Pita bread, feta cheese, grilled eggplant, and olives along with bell pepper rings and cucumbers. The hummus and tzatziki sauce was tasty! I had the pan crusted rockfish and my oh my, this fish was AMAZING! Lightly breaded and had the right flavorings. You don't want to miss trying this! Came with baked red potatoes with herbs and string beans. The guys loved their meals as well. We had a very nice, fun and understanding waitress, Kendra :) I will definitely come back. We had the best time here! The four of us went out to celebrate my 60th bday & we were lucky enough to get the best table in the house, overlooking Lake Washington. Taylor, our amazing server, was the best and had the perfect recommendations. We grazed on the crab Mac & cheese- so rich & delicious, then we had the pear & Gorgonzola ravioli upon her recommendation that was also delicious! We had the caprese salad for our vegetable lol which was so good with humongous heirloom tomatoes- yum! The whole vibe is a little strange. We tried the key lime pie, raspberry cobbler & the cookie for dessert. The cookie was amazing, key lime had little to no flavor & raspberry cobbler was really chewy and tasted very old and was cold. They don't know how to cook a steak, which is too bad for a place where the menu is so focused on grilled meats. An order for a medium rare steak came out dark purple in the center at first. I was enjoying a casual dinner with friends, $30 entrees, nothing to complain about, you get what you pay for. What disturbed me was what I witnessed. The table across the way had sent back a steak for being overcooked. I could even see it was well done from my line of sight. The server was totally understanding and apologetic. However, the owner (wearing jeans and a polo, looks like he tries to golf but probably can't break 100) then comes out and essentially tells the customer that they're idiots, and proceeds to kick them out. The guests did nothing wrong, and it amazes me that he escalated the situation into yelling, with other patrons in the vicinity. TL;DR: You get what you pay for - farm raised frozen fish, a good lake view, and a business owner with zero social skills/awareness. read more

Yikes. We were pretty patient with the waitstaff and their lack of communication with each other. Our server said she would bring bread out with our drinks. It never came so we had asked about it a few times since one person had the mussels at our table. Bread came at the end of our meal. Starters came after the entrees.
