Coworkers and I stopped here for lunch. It is located off Grand Blvd on the heart of midtown Detroit. There is parking but you must remember to pay for it via the parking app or get a big ticket. You seat yourself and the wait staff quickly asked what we wanted for drinks and our order. There are breakfast items like pancakes, omeletes, waffles and even chicken and waffles. There are also sandwiches. , I decided on the corned beef which cones with choice of home fries, fruit or grits. I decided on the grits. The corned beef was good. A little greasy but good. I have had a little better but it was filling. The grits were well prepared. The waitress was attentive and regularly checked on the table. I will plan on visiting this location in the future.

Had the BLVD Breakfast. The eggs, turkey bacon, everything was absolutely delicious. The service was super quick and the staff was really nice answering our questions!

I loved my experience at BLVD Brunch House! This is a new restaurant that opened last year. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed - definitely recommend making a reservation! Luckily we were seated right away. I enjoyed my chicken and waffles, but the pancakes were the star of the show! I also loved their strawberry lemonade. Prices are great and service is very friendly!

Was really quiet before 9am on a rainy Friday morning. The ladies inside were friendly and the food was great. I had the loaded shrimp & grits. It was a huge portion.

Cozy, clean vibe perfect for brunch. My cousins a friend and I stopped by after hearing good things. Our waitress was friendly, but we ended up waiting quite a while for our food. After asking, we were told there was a large group ahead of us. The dining room was nearly empty aside from that group, us, and one other family, so maybe they were short-staffed. Either way, the wait was longer than I'd prefer. Thankfully, the food made up for it. I had the grits and the sujuk croissant. The grits were great, but the croissant had a tomato paste-like spread that didn't quite work for my palate. My cousin Samantha had the crème brûlée French toast and grilled cheese with tomato soup--and yes, I had more than a few bites of that French toast. So good! Zeek ordered the CBLT with fried chicken, and Andres got the classic chicken and waffles. I'm big on lattes, and theirs tasted like Christmas in a cup, comforting and full of flavor. Despite the wait, the good food and friendly staff won me over. Plus, it gave us plenty of time to catch up. I'd give it another shot!

Omg what a hidden gem! From the start Rinna was an excellent waitress! Very knowledgeable about the menu. We went here for a girls brunch. We ordered a little of everything! First my favorite was the sojuk croissant. The flavor was middle eastern. So flavorful! Next the Ashta pancakes- we're so good! There were plenty to share with us and probably a fourth person. The creme brulee waffles were beautifully plated and tasted just as good! The peach cobbler French toast was amazing. The chicken came with chicken strips instead of wings which made it juicer! Like I said we shared everything and there wasn't anything left! The waffles were fluffy the fries were cubed and crispy on the outside but soft on the outside which was great! There is plenty of seating and parking is manageable. I def would recommend this spot if you want excellent food!

This place is amazing! Food is delicious, service great, and cute atmosphere. We absolutely loved our food from the BLVD. I ordered the loaded shrimp and grits with a strawberry dragon fruit refresher and my husband ordered the chicken and waffles with a hot chocolate. Everything was delicious and I love the non-pork options. Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely amazing. The service was a little slow but they were sweet. It was only one waitress for the whole place she did the best she could, so she had my grace. The food was great. Idk if you can tell because I ate before I could get a picture lol but I love that everything is halal - they don't sale alcohol. No pork which I love since I don't eat it.. I had the French toast, beef bacon and hash browns. My guest enjoyed their omelet as well. Great experience and I will be back

Once again one my visit to the D I always like to try new spots. The place off of W Grand Blvd near the hospital. Nice size not too big and not too small. Parking is ok. There was no wait when we arrived as soon as we sat down a waitress was at the table. It was very open you can see them cooking friend vibe inside. The corn beef hash and eggs were on point not too salty, perfectly seasoned. Shrimp and grit were good the sauce seasoned nicely. You can never go wrong with a breakfast sandwich and potatoes. Only thing sandwich hand way to much cheese and I would a preferred it melted. But all in all the service and the food was great and a definite try if you are in Detroit.

Shrimp and Grits very tasty

This was a nice brunch spot. I will certainly visit this location again. There were about 6 of us and we have a baby. They provided a high chair, which it's been so long since I've had a baby, I didn't even think of it . We ordered our food. Now we did have to wait a bit for our food to arrive at the table and we saw another customer get their own food from the counter because the waitress was taking so long and no it wasn't super crowded. There were several empty tables, but, we waited patiently. The food was good, and we noticed what looked to be the manager on the floor making this happen . My God Sister ordered fish and t was fried too hard and she could only get half way through her meal -when we told him the manager took it off her bill. Everyone else enjoyed the experience and the ambiance as well as the food. The price was affordable and really not too bad like

Chicken and waffles

I've only had the chicken tenders and waffles. I loved the fluffy small waffles , they were soft and sweet. The chicken was seasoned well! But it was wet/soggy. Very disappointed that they don't have any veggies, none at all, only meat, bread , eggs and potatoes , well a Caesar salad as well. But they mentioned that because they are a brunch spot , they don't have vegetables.... The service is decent . I love the ambiance of the restaurant , the decor is nice .

I really loved this place. Dropped in after a morning walking around Eastern Market. They have an interesting menu of traditional breakfast and lunch favorites with a bit of a Mediterranean twist. The food was good. Service was right on. Our server was friendly and the food came fast. The decor is neat and up to date. Casual, but comfortable too. Will go again. Give it a try.

Waffles - yummy

Here is the thing- all the reviews complaining about the slow service are true. It took forever to get plain waffles (they ran out of whipped cream...how??) and a simple breakfast platter. Food was def good. It's a nice clean place with good people but I feel there are places with just as good food and better service.

Service from start to finish was pretty good. We had gotten there shortly after they opened so it took some time to order but honestly I didn't mind because we had quite a bit of time before the concert. We were sat in the bar area that had a few table tops, couches, and seats at the bar. This place is a great place for a date and a fun night out with friends. We ordered a few small dishes that felt like a party in our mouth! We started out with the tornado potato that was dressed with Sriracha mayo, pickled ginger, and bonito. If you've ever had Japanese style savory pancake- okonomiyaki, you'll definitely be a fan of this. We also ordered the miso caesar salad, which was absolutely delicious! You could really taste every ingredient in every bite. I just wish they went lighter on the dressing. Still pretty good, I just prefer less dressing on my salads. Also ordered the lobster bao bun that came with popcorn- yes, popcorn! This was definitely unique. For the main meal, we ordered the waygu stirk steak that came with potatoes and mushrooms that was finished off with zip sauce. Absolutely delicious, just a tad on the salty side. We ended the meal off with the taro soft serve with popping boba. Even though it was cold, we were so happy to end the night with this dessert. And the serving size was pretty big.

Unfortunately, they messed up 3 of our orders. They brought my friend the wrong drink, they brought out a wrong order, and they neglected to bring my friend a different drink order. The food itself was all too salty and largely disappointing. We got the dumplings, skirt steak, two different buns, and two different skewers. Our favorite was the mushroom skewer, which was really tasty and well seasoned. Everything else I would not order again. The vibes were all great, but the food was super disappointing. The service also was super slow at the end and it took forever to get our bill. I do not plan to try again.

The restaurant is easy to miss, located on a main road. They do have a small free parking lot. The interior is small, intimate, casual, and unpretentious. At my second visit (my first was several years ago when it first opened) my friend and I came late in the afternoon on a Friday. I'm not sure if we came at a slow time (we were initially the first customers there) or that the Chef was training a new service, but we received VIP treatment. I've occasionally had chefs check in, I've never had service from the chef before! He discussed the menu, as well as his intention for the restaurant. I love Moroccan tea, and the tea service they provide is just lovely. He is certified in tea, and incredibly knowledgeable. My friend and I started with the mudammas fava bean dip, served with pita chips. This was so fantastic I would return just for it. Creamy, just the right balance of flavor, topped with fresh veggies to add texture, I cannot say enough good things. I had the lamb tagine, and she had the kafta meatball batbout. The meatball is listed as a sandwich, it is in house made flatbread. Both dishes were amazing, so fresh and flavorful. The lamb shank was fall off the bone, the couscous was loaded with fresh vegetables. I ended up stopping in for lunch again by myself. I had the harissa potatoes and the flava bean soup, and a slice of pie that was a special. Everything again was fantastic, but it's the potatoes that you will crave after having once. Crispy and brightly flavored, soft once you bit in. I was able to try one of the Chef's teas, and hear a bit more about the restaurant. While the bread for the meatball batbout is made in house, the bread for the fish and chicken sandwiches he obtains locally. I like how engaged he, and the restaurant as a result, is with the community. Chef Omar treats all of his customers as welcomed friends. A quick note that the restaurant does not have any alcohol. They offer alcohol free wine and other beverages. Be aware of this, but do not let it deter you!

Even better, Star is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which has become a rare and precious thing now that COVID has flung our dining options back by 25 years. (Star had more limited hours when they first opened and were ramping up, but are now at full 24/7 operation.) I stopped by with two friends late on a Saturday night after celebrating's a friend's birthday down the street in Hamtramck. Star's parking lot was brightly lit and is near a high-traffic intersection (Conant & Davison), and the lobby/dining room inside is also brightly lit even late at night. They have a big and diverse menu, even compared to most other coneys. You'll find most of the expected standards here -- breakfast plates, omelettes, and sandwiches; burgers and hot sandwiches; coney dogs; fried appetizers. But there's also quite a few dishes not found at other coneys: chicken wings; burgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches made with naga pepper sauce; chicken tikka sandwiches; but perhaps best of them all are five different kinds of egg rolls, which are large and well-stuffed. I had loaded hashbrowns, chicken tikka egg rolls, and a naga dog. My tablemates had Philly steak egg rolls, a burger, and a breakfast sandwich. We were all happy with everything we got, and I'll gladly go back again even when it's not a post-bar stop. Glad to have you in the neighborhood, Star!
