This place is over rated and as far as I'm concerned people do not know good food and that's ok. I would just prefer if reviews were clear enough to really go off Of. My expectations were high for this place because of the reviews and TikTok videos. However, very meh!!!!!!!!! Like there are limited brunch items, the chicken wings or tenders did not have one pinch of seasoning and that's crazy for a fried item. I will say on the good side the potatoes were really good seasoned and hot but it says with onions and bell peppers when it's really the smallest diced sprinkled on top. The grits were mid but possibly a preference for some. The bacon I believe was beef and it was just toooooooooooooooo hard. Any way I won't rag anymore about the food just wanted to give a honest review. Service was awesome. I had the Lebanese omlette with fruit and an almond milk latte. The food was good, next time I will just have regular coffee but I want to try more of their menu. Service was prompt and pleasant. My only complaint is the plate had a lot of spots and stuff on it, which I think came from my food but I wish they had used a different plate to serve. Coworkers and I stopped here for lunch. It is located off Grand Blvd on the heart of midtown Detroit. There is parking but you must remember to pay for it via the parking app or get a big ticket. You seat yourself and the wait staff quickly asked what we wanted for drinks and our order. There are breakfast items like pancakes, omeletes, waffles and even chicken and waffles. There are also sandwiches. , I decided on the corned beef which cones with choice of home fries, fruit or grits. I decided on the grits. The corned beef was good. A little greasy but good. I have had a little better but it was filling. The grits were well prepared. The waitress was attentive and regularly checked on the table. The creme brulee waffles were beautifully plated and tasted just as good! The peach cobbler French toast was amazing. The chicken came with chicken strips instead of wings which made it juicer! A day out in Detroit is always bound to introduce me to new locations that people say to check out, and this week it was BLVD Brunch House. We made a reservation in advance and we were seated immediately. Service was very respectful and kind, and the ambiance inside along with the decor gives a warm and welcoming feel. I do believe that the wait to get our food was quite lengthy, but in all respect, they were packed (it was a Sunday). I went with the strawberry shortcake French toast and I'm sad to say it felt flavorless. It was cooked nicely but didn't have a taste to it. We all felt the presentation was nice but it didn't exactly live up to the hype. Once again one my visit to the D I always like to try new spots. The place off of W Grand Blvd near the hospital. Nice size not too big and not too small. Parking is ok. There was no wait when we arrived as soon as we sat down a waitress was at the table. It was very open you can see them cooking friend vibe inside. The corn beef hash and eggs were on point not too salty, perfectly seasoned. Shrimp and grit were good the sauce seasoned nicely. You can never go wrong with a breakfast sandwich and potatoes. They provided a high chair, which it's been so long since I've had a baby, I didn't even think of it . We ordered our food. Now we did have to wait a bit for our food to arrive at the table and we saw another customer get their own food from the counter because the waitress was taking so long and no it wasn't super crowded. There were several empty tables, but, we waited patiently. The food was good, and we noticed what looked to be the manager on the floor making this happen . This place is lame. Almost all the sides were clearly not made in house and had been frozen: "Cauliflower Wings" were TINY bits of deep-fried cauliflower with a powered seasoning blend and no sauce. The homefries were supposed to come with peppers and onions but were just frozen cubed potatoes with nothing but salt. The Battata Hara were the same frozen cubed potatoes but with a touch of a dry seasoning sprinkled on them. I went to this place for the first time on Sun. June 7. The food is overpriced for what you receive. I ordered a carry out breakfast meal. After ordering I sat down to wait. After 15 minutes, a young African American woman came over to the table where I was waiting and told me I had to move to another location near the front which was not identified. Soon four whites were seated at the table I was previously at. I did not sit down near the unspecified front chair. I do not know if this young woman was aware of the racial optics of what she did. Unfortunately, racism can be conscious and unconscious. There is clearly racism in the restaurant business even in a majority African American city like Detroit. Whether the wait staff are directed to give preferential treatment to whites is not clear. Nonetheless, racism is increasing in the United States. Incident such as what I experienced are becoming normalized again.
