I'm so glad this place opened up in El Monte. Didn't really like that I had to go all the way to Rosemead for Vietnamese food. What can I say? I'm really lazy. They have a relatively large variety of dishes. Pho, banh mi, etc. It's super quick and easy for me to get take away when I'm in a rush and the food is good. Check it out! ENJOY! read more

I have to say it's not bad for a fast food style pho place. Thought I would give it a try and was presently surprised. Beef pho is very flavorful and I tried a little beef stew and was a little salty for my likes but good. read more

Ok so bmc has quite a few locations in the San Gabriel valley area that my friends and I visit quite often. Over all I can proudly consider my self a satisfied loyal customer. The place seems clean for the most part, Great customer service, a little tight in space (but it's not really the workers fault that the dinning room is so small), the food is good but they could do better on the hot pot. Other then that I enjoyed this place and will continue going. Ps. One of the best spring rolls in town :) read more

If I could give zero star I would but Yelp does not allow it. This place is very dirty and disgusting. There's cockroaches running around the floors and there's molds on the walls. I point out the situation to the manager. He is super rude and said "This is not the Hilton, what do you expect?" And all the workers started laughing. There was a customer there that was given the wrong order and the manager told her that if you don't check your order once you walk out, it's not their problem. read more

A good place for a quick pick up. However the customer service, quality of food, or options isn't as great compared to other Banh Mi places. I would probably recommend driving 10 mins down lower asuza for another branch with the same name. Better food, better customer service, and definitely more options! read more

Normally I like BMC. I eat at many of them. Chose this one because they serve Vit hot pot. Ended up not getting hot pot and the guy behind the counter seemed to not want me to order. Our food came and it was sub par at best. The beef looked very old and tasted like wet dog and butter. There was so much butter used that the rice was swimming in butter. I felt the underside of my plate and wished I hadn't. There was so much dried grease that it feels like the plate has never been washed. Once I felt that I could not eat anymore. So sad. read more

BMC PHO Banh Mi Che Cali serves good Vietnamese fast food. Their menu has a great variety of food at affordable price. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. The dining area was clean. However, they no longer has salad in their menu. We ordered their special Pro Ga Chicken Noodle Soup at 50% off promotion. The food came out very quickly. We enjoyed our lunch here today. read more

Staff was nice. We bought the already made meals: - Fried Rice $4.25 each - 3/5. Very little egg and Chinese Sausage. Not enough flavor though. - Rice with Pork Chop & Fried Egg $4.25 each - 3/5. Pork chop was marinated well but the fried egg was overcooked. - Banh Uot/Cuon $3.75 each - 3/5 The rice noodles and fish cakes were delicious especially with the sweet fish sauce that comes with the meal. Bad. My noodles came out fast, that's the only thing that can be said about it. They forgot my iced coffee, which I ended up having to ask after I was done getting it to go because I didn't stay long enough to finish my noodles. The soup was tasteless. It may as well have been just hot water. You could tell they keep noodles sitting in bowls ready to go for a long time, they had no texture. I like my noodles to have some texture. They gave a tiny sprig of basil, and 1/8 wedge of lime. Coffee and pho cost me 10+ bucks. Not worth it. It is a new establishment, so hopefully they'll improve, but I doubt I'll try again. Their iced coffee is good, but not enough to fish them out of 1 star. read more

Just purchased a party tray of Baguette for a potluck. The girl behind the count assembled the sandwich did not toasted the bread as they should, so I requested that she toasted all the bread 1st. She reassembled it again, but did a sloppy job putting all the deli meats in it, I decided to changed my mind asked her to put the veggies in it instead of separating it as I had requested earlier. Not bad for what it is IF you order the right things. SKIP the prepared meals that sit out; the dry vermicelli, rice plates, etc. often the starches (rice, noodles) are over cooked. So is the boba, usually--the tea itself is super creamy if you like that kind of thing though, and free if you order off the menu (discounted items, like the Pho Ga or Chicken Pho count but not specials like the happy hour)! The small dishes I've had, like the spring rolls are ok. GOOD: small dishes ok, though the pate chaud felt very starchy/stodgy, and the meat had a lot of filler. I actually quite like the Pho Ga, and that's what I usually get--it comes with a boneless sliced thing of chicken, ginger sauce (similar to the one in hainan chicken rice just with fish sauce instead of oil), basil, bean sprouts, and of course the rice noodles in broth. They used to have bean sprouts out to self serve but I didn't see it last time; ended up just requesting more from a worker and she was super nice about giving me a whole bowl more. At $4.99, it's a pretty good deal, and qualifies for the yelp check in drink. Also recommend: the hot oil--not the Siracusa, mind-- (maybe mixed with some Hoishin sauce), maybe the Buy 2 get 1 free egg roll? read more

I was in line when it was my turn the phone rang and the cashier made me stand there and wait while she took the phone order. The second casher open and helped the people in back of me. I Put in my order, went I got home one of the order is missing. I called and the lady on the phone tells me , I should of check the order before I left. I drove back to the store , the same ladies that took my order and gave me my order said she didn't charge me for it. Then later they took a look in the computer and still said I wasn't charged. I got their banh mi with BBQ Pork, spring rolls and vermicelli. I was really craving vermicelli that day, and was hoping for this dish to fufill my tastebuds. Since Banh Mi is known for their delicious Banh Mi, I somehow thought they would not disappoint. Unfortunately, their vermicelli was probably the worst I have ever had. They had a Chinese menu and a Vietnamese menu. Honestly, it was a tough choice. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls , and the bun Bo nuong cha gio. The dishes were prepared with quality and patience. Lots of regulars in the restaurant it seemed. On this night , there were short staffed and I had to remind my server about my order a few times. The manager came out to apologize. She was a very good manager and handled things well. She offered me a discount, but I refused. Instead, she gave me a refreshing watermelon drink on the house. I will come back, next time I'm in town.

BMC started from the OG Garden Grove location and has since started franchising like cancer while severely neglecting quality control. I have been to a few locations and the OG spot has been the only good one. Due to the lack of decent dinner option in El Monte and at the cost of convenience, this was my third foray in the frey. To their credit the #2 Banh Mi was pretty tasty on my second visit. However this third visit had me questioning their intent...I wanted to file a police report because I honestly thought they maliciously tried to give me a heart attack or diarrhea at the very least. On a side note before I get into the food, I wanted to give a shout out to the dude in the white T working at night...What is up with the perpetual resting b*tch face dude? I get it...working at a fast food joint blows and definitely kills your game, but when petrified turds have more personality than you, grocery store stocker might be a better option. If you hate your job so much, find another, don't take it out on customers especially in a customer facing role. It kinda freaks me out when you coldly bark at me to sign my receipt while staring me down with serial killer intensity. Apologies for the digression, so I ordered the #6 Chicken Curry Vermicelli and got a bowl of oil...no joke check out the pic of bowl of oil I scooped out. On top of that a piece of chicken had feathers on it way longer than any "private" grooming standards should allow. The fact that the curry just tasted like watered down coconut milk was just an after thought at this point. To tell you the truth I wasn't even mad. I was more amused that any self respecting establishment, let alone "chef" would have the cajones to serve such a disaster. Thought Chef Gordon was going to pop out anytime to let everyone know they were shutting down for the night. All kidding aside, go to Hue Thai down the block instead. The banh mi buy 2 get 1 free deal is pretty affordable in this economy. However when i ordered the bbq pork the lady making the banh mi was trying her hardest to soup the rest of the mayo out of the metal container. And there wasnt that much mayo left in it to begin with. So all 3 sandwiches i got, i got maybe half a tablespoon of mayo in it, if that. I'm all for not wasting, but lady you should bring out another tub of mayo so that every sandwich gets a decent amount of mayo. My usual order here is the #1 beef pho and shrimp spring rolls, which I enjoy. However, I've always been curious why the shrimp spring rolls are left out without any cooling. Surprisingly, I haven't fallen sick from it yet. The staff's customer service is minimal, rarely even offering a greeting. The restaurant's cleanliness leaves much to be desired, especially since they don't clean the dining tables after guests leave. Due to these issues, I usually opt for takeout. Worst attitude ever from a cashier named JOYCE. I am in disbelief how rude of a person she is.
