First I'll tell you what I like. Their food is fresh and delicious. But ... their sandwich portions are measly at best. I have a deep love for BMH. I am lucky that I work near by (since 2017) and can grab something for lunch when the mood hits me. Generally I get a cold Betsy, but when it's cold and blustery like today, the meatball sandwich is just pure comfort. I get extra marinara with mine for dipping. Don't get it twisted, this is NOT subway! This is a family owned old school mom/pop shop. Sure it's not a hip new shiney interior, but the food is always good and well made. At least for me it has been since I've been working near there. They also have some imported Italian grocery items. Like legit lady fingers and giant pasta shells. They also make in house classic Italian desserts and other dishes you can take home (or eat there if you want). If it's about lunch time, best to call in your order a head of time. read more

Fresh bread great start of delicious sandwiches. I have enjoyed many here Blvd. Mortadella with salami, Torpedo, Southside with hot Gardineira... You can put that Gardineira on any of there sandwiches. Meatball, Sausages, Roast Beef made there...and their Marinara , Meat sauce I have purchased to take home to enjoy with my pasta. This is a little Italian sub shop that I always drive-by on the way to Costco and I thought I should try it. Parking is limited and the driveway doesn't exactly line up with the path to the back, but the sandwiches are worth it. They pretty big at a very reasonable price. The service was amazing and the guy behind the counter told us the multitude of items that were made in-house and fresh. They got tons of meats and a good selection of soup. I decided on the BMH sub which was super fresh, however, in the description on the menu, it said there was a house dressing that was suppose to come with the sandwich and I don't think my sub had it or there was just a minuscule amount. Without it, the sandwich needs to be eaten with a drink because although the bread was soft with a crispy edge, it needs more liquid. I feel like with the dressing, I would've given a 5 stars. My roommates got the meatball sub and they thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be coming back. read more

Was recommended to me by a coffee cart vendor at the County. I tried the Italian Roast Beef & Cheese. The sandwich is 12" long and a nice variation of a Chicago style Italian Beef. Good "bang for the buck" because a traditional 6" sandwich at the Chicago style eateries in San Diego is the same price. Have to try more of the menu. The rack of goodies is nice. Walking in here is so nostalgic for me. You see mother and daughter working behind the counter in this little Italian mom and pop deli. Reminds me when I worked with my mom at her deli growing up. They have huge portions and great flavor. I can only eat half the sandwich. When my mom came to visit me, we split one for lunch. She enjoyed it and gave props to BMH. I was watching a video of someone making an Italian sub on Instagram and immediately needed one! I called BMH to order the Caprese with prosciutto. When I arrived to pick it up, I got a few cookies for dessert. When I got home, I realized my Caprese has no basil or pesto and was a bit disappointed. The smell of the fresh bread when you walk in is amazing. Got a macaroon for a treat- soft and tasty. Customer service was great- friendly but not overbearing staff. Food was timely and great portion. To go or sit in. We sat down and the seating area was nicely decorated - making it cozy. They have a deli and a small area with some Italian brand goods for sale.
