I'm getting married July 23, 2011. Wedding planning is stressful and tiring. By far the easiest part of wedding planning for me was purchasing my wedding dress. This can be attributed the professional staff and gorgeous selection of wedding gowns at BoLee Bridal! My experience at BoLee bridal was so fantastic. They were always flexible and accommodating to my schedule. They had fantastic advice but at the same time they weren't too pushy. I can't say enough good things about BoLee Bridal!! This was the first place that I came when I was dress shopping. I was so nervous about trying on dresses and was honestly dreading dress shopping. Lisa was my consultant and made me feel so comfortable. The entire time she was so professional and friendly. I only gave her like 2 specifics on what I was looking for in a dress and she pulled several that I loved. In high school it took me months to find my prom dresses, and I am very picky about dresses. They let me play with the jewelry until I was ready to go ( an hr or so) The shoes are badazzled BUT they hurt!!! I will have to look elsewhere. My wedding was just less than a month ago and I finally have time to sit down and write a review for BoLee Bridal Couture. When my husband now and I decided on our wedding date this April a year ago, I didn't quite have any ideas what kind of wedding gown that would look good on me. So I went on a search to get ideas for styles and materials that might fit my body type. I made an appointment at a store in Campbell and went there with a girlfriend of mine. I told the lady that I was not looking for any particular styles and she brought out 5 different gowns. Everything was a disaster on me! The materials are too hard on my skin, I couldn't walk in them, couldn't sit. So I left the store thinking I could never find a decent wedding gown. I then waited a few months and went to another store in San Jose. Tried on another 5 gowns and got totally disappointed with non flattering and cheap looking materials gowns. On that same day I made an appointment with BoLee Bridal based on a recommendation from one of my coworkers. I went over there with one of my bridesmaids and didn't expect much from the store. I walked in and was greeted by warm and friendly staff. We got tea while we were waiting in a very nice and beautiful waiting area with comfortable couches. It wasn't too hectic and crowded and I was walking around looking at their gowns on the hangers and they all look so beautiful and of high quality. I was asked a few questions regarding what I was looking for and the staff who helped me that day brought out 5 dresses. I tried on the first one and it made me smile but I had to try on other dresses as well and came back to the first one. I didn't cry like other brides I saw on "say yes to the dress" but lingered along time in the first dress which ended up being the one! It was so beautiful and comfortable to wear and I could totally move around and walk in it. I fell in love with the color, the details of the dress, especially the lacy part of it and the modern but romantic look of the whole dress. I was a few pounds more than where I was at the wedding but the dress definitely was flattering and enhanced my body type and was able to hide all the imperfections:)! (We are so critical of ourselves as always). The dress was a little above my budget but it didn't take me long to decide that it is my wedding dress. I got the dress, the matching veil, and a very beautiful and dandy belt for a very good price. The whole process of ordering was easy and the staff kept me informed when everything arrived at the store for pick up. I later found out that my dress is one of the Mikaella wedding gown collection. I love my dress and got so many compliments on my wedding day, and last time I went for dress fitting I got all teary. My husband loves it so much he said we will take the dress out and I will wear it on our wedding anniversary every year! I bought my Pronovias dress from Bolee back in November when they had a Pronovias trunk show. I literally went to at least 10 bridal shops before finding Bolee. Like many brides these days, I went to Yelp in hopes to find the perfect bridal gown shop. I decided on five different shops and ended up scheduling my last appointment among the five with BoLee Bridal Couture. There were so many pros and cons with the other four bridal shops but I can only recall pros while working with BoLee Bridal. When first walking in BoLee Bridal, I was very impressed by their showroom layout. The boutique was so welcoming, organized, clean, spacious, and smelled great too! All of the workers were very friendly and accommodating. They offered drinks upon arrival which was a very nice touch. Ashley was assigned to help me find my dress. She asked what I liked, didn't like, and everything in between. She asked what my budget was and was not taken back by how small it was. I can't recall how many dresses Ashley had me try on, but I do remember they were all very beautiful and well within my budget. However, none of them felt like "the one". Right before our appointment was about to end, she asked if I was open to wear a dress with some color. I said it wouldn't hurt to try one out since I had been focusing on ivory dresses. Ashley came back with a blush Stella York dress. I tried it on, walked out to show my mom and bridesmaids and almost immediately the girls were in tears saying that was "the dress". I put my deposit down right then and there. I decided to have alterations done at BoLee Bridal as well. Their alterations tailor, John, was awesome. The cost of alterations was slightly on the pricier side, but I knew I did not want to risk the chance of an "affordable seamstress" to ruin my dress to save a couple of bucks. I am sooooo glad I went with BoLee - John to do my alterations. My dress turned out absolutely perfect and fit me like a glove. Thank you John for working your magic! I could not have been happier with the customer service and selection of dresses at BoLee Bridal. Walking in I knew this was the place I wanted to buy my dress. It was tastefully decorated, spacious, and inviting. And getting an appointment was easy for a Friday afternoon. When I arrived, Lisa (who had helped me book the appointment) sat me down and asked me a few questions about my vision for the wedding, venue, my style, and my price range. Then she whisked away, leaving me to chat with my sister and best friend, and then she came back 15 minutes later with several dresses for me to try on. (Note: At the shop I went to right before this appointment I had to select all my own dresses, which was a daunting experience, and it felt a little like factory -- get in, try on, buy?, and get out.) I never felt rushed at BoLee and I felt like I had Lisa's undivided attention. And the first dress was the winner! Of course I tried on others to confirm, but she nailed it. It was so nice to feel catered to, and for the expert to guide me through the process. Lisa explained how long it would take for my dress to arrive from the designer, and when I needed to make a decision on the veil, since that also needed to be ordered. I really appreciated all the communication to confirm appointments and follow up regarding everything we talked about in the store. I began my search for my wedding dress a year prior to the date. I thought I had found the dress I would be married in (NOT AT BO LEE). I was measured, paid the dress in full and then two months before my big day a family friend wore the same dress during her wedding. I was rushed and felt pressured to find a dress. I walked into Bo Lee and was taken care of by Jessica B. I informed her of my situation. Jessica told me that in approximate 9 months she too would get married. The choices of dress' I had were limited due to the time limitation. Surly I found the dress of my dreams. Jessica looked into ordering the dress, but it could not be delivered in time. I thought it would not be impossible. Jessica then told me that the dress I wanted was the same one she had chosen to wear for her wedding. She had actually ordered it before hand and it was scheduled to arrive in approximate five weeks. This place is great! The only reason I found Bo Lee Bridal was because of yelp. (Thank you yelp). It is clean, nicely decorated, their dressing rooms are huge and the staff is very professional. They are the first bridal store that has ever offered my group and I coffee, tea, or water. When they brought my mom and best friend coffee it wasn't it disposable cups, it was in actual china. Very nice touch! When you first drive up it does not look like much but trust me don't judge a book by its cover. Katie was my consultant and she was very nice and helpful. I almost felt like she was part of my group helping me try on dresses, suggesting styles and accessories, and smiling every time I put on a new dress. :) She even let me try on jewelry and shoes to help me imagine what I would look like on my wedding day! This place is amazing! I happened to find Bo's shop through Google soon after they opened. I visited four dress shops in the search for the perfect dress and BoLee was the most professional and welcoming. I was a bit overwhelmed to start my dress shopping, and some of the other stores only added to the frustration - the claustrophobic environment with the same overpriced dresses and pushy sales staff. BoLee Bridal was the exact opposite. It's a beautiful store with huge dressing rooms and lots of space so you can actually see the dresses. There's no pressure from the staff and you can look at as many dresses as you want. Bo helped me with my dress selection and she understood exactly what I was looking for (even if I wasn't sure myself). Thanks to Bo I found my perfect dress. She has a wide selection, competitive prices, and an amazing staff. Between the initial visit, ordering the dress, and fittings I went in at least five or six times. I always received a friendly reminder call before appointments and was greeted warmly. I also used their alteration services, and received the same high level of service. Note: I did not buy my wedding dress here, just came here for a veil and possible dress alterations. I did a ton of wedding planning in Summer 2011, including buying my wedding dress at home in Iowa. I didn't buy a veil at that time because all the ones in bridal stores seemed so overpriced ($200 for a tiny scrap of fabric, seriously?) and my mom and I had talked her about her possibly making one. I then got very busy and basically didn't do any wedding planning from August 2011 until a couple months ago. I also didn't have time to go back to Iowa. My dress was made to my measurements and fit like a dream when it came in and I wasn't sure I needed to do alterations at all, because it looked and felt so perfect, but I wanted a consult anyway. I also still needed a veil, so I came here looking for both those things. I was not very impressed by the tailor I consulted with at this store. I realize he's trying to make a sale but I felt like I was being pushed into every possible alteration including ones I didn't want. Their standard alterations package seemed pretty expensive (I believe it was $500) and included a lot of things I didn't think I needed but the tailor seemed to think I did, including bra cups sewn into the dress (my dress was not strapless so I could actually wear a regular bra under it) and a bustle for dancing (it did not really have a train). In addition, I felt like the dress was the perfect size through the chest and waist and did not need to be taken in or out at all, but the tailor insisted it needed to be taken in A LOT. When he showed me where he thought it should be, I could barely breathe, let alone move!! Being comfortable and you know, able to breathe, on my wedding day was much more important to me than proving to people that I might have lost a couple of pounds. He did admit that the hemline was correct and did not need any altering. The one alteration I was really interested in having done was having a layer of tulle removed from the skirt to make it slightly less poofy. The tailor said it would be $50 to do this (again seems high to me for literally just cutting out a layer of mesh) and then the dress would also require hemming, which would be $350 (the removal of the extra layer would cause the dress to be slightly less horizontal and thus the hemline would be slightly too long). The extra layer was not that big a deal to me and having it removed certainly didn't seem worth $400, especially given that the dress fit so well pre-alterations, so I decided to just leave it. I'm so glad I went with my gut and did not give in to their upsell-y "but every wedding dress needs alterations!" sales tactics. On my wedding day I felt really beautiful and most importantly, totally like myself, in my un-altered dress. Onto the veil. They did not have any veils in the store that were exactly what I wanted but they had one I liked pretty well. It was a typically over-priced bridal store veil, but I was too busy to go shopping around to a lot of other stores and was also running out of time so I just bought it. I had to pay a big rush shipping fee because it was less than 6 weeks before my wedding. This fee also did not include shipping to my house - it was shipped to the store and I had to go pick it up. I don't really understand why - if its coming from elsewhere (presumably not California) why is it so much more to ship to my house in Palo Alto than the store in Sunnyvale? They promised I could pick up the veil by August 7th, since I was leaving for my wedding location on August 8th. [Edited: I mistakenly said they told me they normally charge for veils purchased w/o a dress but were waiving that for me. The owner (politely) clarified in a comment to this review that the waived charge was for the nice garment bag they gave me, which is totally reasonable (and its nice that they gave it to me for free).] Anyway I spent too much money on the stupid veil, but I thought it was all done with until a couple of days later at work I got a really casual email from them saying "Your veil will ship 8/7!" (the day I was supposed to pick it up). Um, not ok. I called them, talked to a couple people and basically got the run-around "sorry, this is the best we can do" until I got really pissed off, threatened to cancel the order (that had only been half paid for) and suddenly they said my veil could get here in July. In the end, my veil came in, I really liked how it looked at my wedding and it was all good, but I felt like the whole thing was a bit fishy. The atmosphere of this bridal shop is serene and elegant-a great place for an intimate experience with close friends and family. I went here to help a close friend pick out the perfect dress for her big day. I was impressed that the dresses were simply hanging there-without the vinyl bag-like at most stores. The selection was fantastic and the pricing was surprisingly reasonable. The staff was very sweet and knowlegable, they helped her pick out the right dress for her shape (not that hard since she has a nice body) and the right acessories (a white flower).Also, she is pretty picky, she wanted a dress with the WOW factor and had a uniqueness to it. This was the first store I visited to try on bridal gowns. I was very nervous but with the help from my consultant Mai and two of my bridesmaids, my first bridal gown trial was simply amazing. From the warm welcome they give you, complimentary coffees and patience from my consultant Mai, I went from nervous (and near violent) shaking to really enjoying the entire process. I went back for a second visit and they were just as warm the second time around. The best part, I never felt any pressure to purchase or make an immediate decision at either visit, from Mai or Bo. They just wanted me to find MY dress. Amazing and personal customer service. They know how to treat people right. read more
