The brand new Board and Batten was superb. I went with 9 others. I think we got every entree but the fried chicken. I'm sure it's fabulous too, there was not one drop left on anyone's plate. We all (couples) ordered the bread In Terra cotta pot!!! Presentation A+. It tasted as good as it looked. Herb butter to slather on. Yum. Next my hubby and I split the caprese salad. Just perfect as a starter. I got the duck. Never had duck before but a friend had been at tasting opening and told me she would buy my dinner if I didn't like it. It was just like butter no fat, or gamey tasting. If I hadn't know what I ordered I would of thought it was a pork tenderloin.. the beef short ribs were a hit as well as the white fish and risotto. Our dinner group had a wonderful time dinning there Wednesday evening, first time for all but two of us. Four of us had the Sonoran Pasta Co. Rigatoni, the tomato braised lamb was so flavorful (I was truly thinking of licking the bowl). All four of us just kept saying yum in between bites. The others had the Grilled Pork Chop, Flattened Chicken and the Beef Tournedos and they raved about the flavors and the quality. This truly is a hidden gem with a very attentive staff and fantastic chief. We will definitely be coming back and hope to sit outside in their charming courtyard. read more

1st time here... wanted to try out a new place since I recently got a GC from there and we don't have a great selection in Mesa. Az anyway!!! I went Wednesday, July 24th @ 12pm. When we arrived there were already some people there as well as a big party. The server was super nice... but she was the only one taking orders. The hostess sat you down and that was all she did. It got super busy. Still only one server... but wait the owner was around BUT did not lift a finger to help the young server. The chef was even bringing everyone's food out!!! We asked for a craft of water like the other tables... no joke it was 3/4 empty. Had to ask the hostess to fill since we were not sure when we would see our server again!!! As for the food... my southwest salad was ok. It was a good portion. Chicken had no flavor to it at all!!! Then on to the "Filet" slider..... a glorified disgusting tasting burger. The owner said they grind up the filet!!!! It was so gross!! The ice tea was soooo gross too... how do u screw that up???? The only good thing was our entire meal was comp!! I have been to restaurants where the owner steps in and helps. No... not this one!!!! I don't think he has much experience in the food industry!!! Just an observation! read more

I got the duck risotto and my life has changed. This risotto was sooooo good I ate my whole plate, and I never do that. Also, I'm not a fan of caramel, I feel like it can get too sticky and sweet at times, but my grandma wanted to split the salted caramel thing. It was also amazing! I didn't get to see the dessert menu because grandma ordered it without a menu. It had a lemon bar taste to it, it's hard to explain, but I loved it! read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. When you are walking up to the restaurant it's just lovely. Then the couches and fireplace on the patio made me want to come back just for cocktails But because it was a cool night we sat inside. Our server was wonderful. We had dates and also shrimp for the starters and they were fantastic. The cocktails were also good. The entrees were so good. One of us had the pork chop one had the lamb and two of us had the special which was pasta with shredded short ribs-really good. Then we had dessert and it was also a great finish to a great meal. The problem I have is that the minute we had our plates cleared the guy was there to take the plate away and it got so bad that he even cleared our water glasses so we were left sitting there with a total empty table. It felt like they wanted us to leave. It was still early in the evening, there were empty tables and the occupied tables were still eating and drinking. Our empty table made us feel uncomfortable and so we left. That's sad to me because we like to linger after our dinner and talk with our dinner companions. We were only at this place for 1 hour and 45 minutes total. I think we should have been able to linger a while longer.... This restaurant is such a cute place including a large outdoor patio. Unfortunately the atmosphere is very unfriendly and the menu is limited. Management and the head bartender are so rude. We had never heard of this restaurant and a friend recommended it for our small group dinner outing. We were pleasantly surprised by the quaint but upscale feel of the building and patio. We started with drinks at the bar and the bartender was very nice and timely with our cocktails. Upon being seated we were immediately attended to and specials and recommendations were provided. We all ordered something different and everyone was very happy with their choices. The appetizers were all big hits with us except the charcuterie which was a little lacking in variety. The salmon on avocado toast was very nice and the bacon wrapped dates were a big hit! We came for an anniversary dinner. Admittedly, we have not eaten out much at all during Covid, but we felt so comfortable and safe here. The food was out of the world, the ambiance was romantic and peaceful, and the service was absolutely stellar. I had the lamb pasta and my husband had the pork chop. It was hard to say which we preferred as they both were spectacular. We didn't have high expectations for the drink menu based on some previous reviews, but the drinks were equally phenomenal. Such a quaint little place in such a strange area. Sitting in a Mesa industrial park is this little gem. The menu is small, but that just means everything is good and it was! Our experience was exquisite from beginning to end. The beauty of the outside garden/patio area as well as the clean contemporary style of the inside was so elegant and welcoming. My hubby and I enjoyed fresh salads that were very pleasing to the eye. They were artfully plated; mine with a melted goat cheese over arugula and beets with candied walnuts and my husbands was a Cobb salad equally delicious. The ingredients are top notch. Almost all menu items are house made. They obviously have a trained chef. This is not a chain restaurant and the prices are very reasonable. I've had a different server each time, but all of them have been extremely professional, kind, and attentive. I haven't found anything on the menu that isn't a perfect 10.
