This is my second time at this location.The first time no problem. Today I went in with a friend about 1:15. The positive first: workers were super friendly and helpful. Sandwich was fine. The problem was the place was dirty. I had to ask for a table to be cleaned so we could be seated. All the tables were dirty! The floor was a mess. The place where they prepare the sauce cups behind the cashier had sauce spilled all over it. The worst part were the flies!!! They were everywhere. It was gross. When we arrived the front door was open letting in the flies even though they have nice A/C. I closed the door. Anyway if the Health Department happened to show up today I think their "A" rating would have been downgraded. I am not one to leave negative reviews but I feel the manager should know what's going on. Obviously I don't want to go back.... Sad. read more

I want to like this place, but the staff really lacks care at this location and seems to only be interested in hanging out. Today I ordered a beef dip to-go, and when I opened the bag, the au jus was upside down so half the au jus leaked out and was a huge mess. It wasn't like it moved to the position it was in, whoever packed it literally turned the container upside down to fit it in the bag. Also, the online platform has a lot of glitches, which is unacceptable as this location does not answer phone. The prices keep getting higher (plus the obligation to tip) and it makes me question whether it is worth the hassle to eat here because I don't think the people working here actually give af. read more

First of all, I have to say that I absolutely love the sandwiches here. Especially the Turkado. I've been coming here for many years specifically the Del Mar location. But the last time we ordered, they not only got one sandwich wrong, both sandwiches were wrong! We didn't notice until we got the sandwiches home. They were on the wrong bread, they were the wrong sandwich fillings. We didn't want to spend the time and money getting back to the restaurant which is not that close to our home. Very disappointing. This is the worst sandwich I've ever had. Tasteless bread lettuce, meat. I will never go back. They had no condiments on it either.

I've been to board & brew many times! However, this was my first time going to this location. We were the only people in line and it took around 5 minutes to be acknowledged despite numerous workers in the area. Another guy at the bar had to ask to be helped after waiting 5-10 minutes. The sandwiches were pretty good, squaw bread was hard and not very fresh. Not sure if I will come back, Scripps is always on their game. read more

So I was not going to say anything not only does it make me gag but I'm also just traumatized. Yes I may be a bit dramatic but still here it goes. I was so excited that the board and brew in poway opened up. I have gone now 3 times. 2 mobile orders and one sit down. Well on Tuesday I did a mobile order of a sandwich and salad. So excited to have a yummy lunch for work. I work graveyard so never know when I can eat but I had 1/2 the sandwich and salad saving the other 1/2 for on my way to work the next day. As I was heading to work Wednesday I started eating my other half and it was dark already but thought I knew what was in my sandwich (well maybe not) I can't even write this with out gagging but long story short I almost swallowed a used bandaid. once I found out what it was I started gagging and almost pulled over on the freeway. Thank god I had mouthwash and toothpaste paste in my car and thought it was better to just swallow some to save my life. (Yes dramatic but I don't care) I normally would just suck it up and not go back and have flashbacks but thinking about it aren't they supposed to wear gloves now?????? I called and asked if someone was missing a bandaid? She told me I don't think so. I told her well if so it's in my sandwich. I don't want my money back or anything I just want them to wear gloves and care a bit more. I'm just so grossed out I don't think I can go back to eat anything. I've been a Board and Brew customer since the 1980s... a UCSD student who often went to the Del Mar location. Was excited to have them come to Poway! Picked up a large takeout order for extended family on opening weekend in early December and loved it. Turkado, Baja chicken. All the faves. But went back for takeout lunch in January, basically just an annoying experience. No signs to say where to pickup, competing with doordash/etc for pickup, didn't include sauce (thankfully I realized it before getting too far), just grumpy service by someone who seemed annoyed to be interacting with customers. I've done pickup for years in Del Mar, always positive experience (mostly because parking there is a challenge), not sure I'll try Poway again soon unless I have time to eat in/have a beer. read more

I'm a regular but wish there could be improvements. Inconsistent pastrami. Some times it's delicious and some times it's 50 percent stringy fat! To be fair they were nice and offered a refund that I didn't take since restaurants are already struggling. read more

First time at this location. Ordered two Turkados and one Toms choice. Turkado didnt have enough avacado and the meat portion was noticeably less than the Del Sur location which we frequent. Consistency is very important with chains. I would estimate the meat portion is half the amount causing the bread to overpower. There was barely any lettuce. Not coming back, going to stick to Del Sur. read more

My wife & I tried Board & Brew for the first time for the Grand opening & thought it was ok. My wife liked it more than I did. I had heard a lot of hype so I guess I was expecting something amazing, which it wasn't. I ordered the Tom's Choice. The size of the sandwich & pricing was very reasonable, however the taste of the sandwich seemed like it was missing something. My wife ordered the Turkado & really enjoyed it. Ordered a Turkado sandwich today. Sandwich had a little bit of turkey, a lite smear of smashed avocado and a lot of lettuce spilling out of the sandwich. This location is very hit or miss as far as sandwich quality. I will stick to the 4S or Mira Mesa locations in the future. read more

Spicy Roast beef. Yum! My new go to place. Bye Subway. The restaurant is clean and bright with lots of outdoor seating. My sandwich was huge with fresh roast beef like your Mom makes. No lunch meat here. Crisp onions with a delicious roll and enough melted swiss cheese so that I could taste it. The sandwich cones with a big container of au jus and their delicious sauce. Sweet and tangy. The lady behind the counter was sweet and brought my to go order to me when ready. Great place in Poway that I will be visiting often read more

Lauren is awesome!! Attentive and was always asking me and others if everything was good and if we needed anything.

I decided to try this place a couple of times mainly because of the happy hour. Since I was there I decided to have one of the sandwiches which I found bland and unappealing. I normally sit at the bar which was not too busy but full of "fruit flies." I discovered that the staff failed to wash the empty beer glasses which attracted the insects. I informed the manager of the issue and she cleaned up the mess but seemed like she was doing me a favor. I also observed staff kissing around the beer taps - just totally unprofessional and not hygienic. The place is staffed mainly of folks barely out of high school so I don't expect much in the way of service or professionalism but at least be clean. read more
