The beef dip on a rainy day was the best cap to the day. As soon as I entered the establishment I was greeted by a warm welcome from Payten. By far one of the best sandwich spots in San Diego. The vibes inside are amazing. ordered the Turkado and let me tell you the proportions are bank for your buck. Came in on Saturday night for a sandwich and beer. There was a line out the door, but the line went fast. Asked about ordering a beer, but said I could order one at the beer bar. Went to the beer bar and no one was working. Asked two workers and they said the guy working the beer bar was doing something else, and didn't offer to help me. BOGO on their opening day. It's located in the AMC movie theatre shopping plaza on Poway x Community. We're thrilled to have a B&B so close to us! The line grew quickly but they managed the crowd very well. Big open and bright seating. I love the window into the kitchen. Same menu, cute little bar area, love the sauce! A huge selection of sandwiches. We had the grilled cheese sandwich. I wish I added pickles and a tomato. They don't have ketchup here, but a house made sauce to go with it (I wasn't a fan of the sauce). The sandwich was really yummy on its own though. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! My family and I got really bad stomach illnesses/food poisoning. My wife and our youngest split a chicken club sandwich and felt it later that night and into the next day. My poor little 8 year old was doubled over and crying from the pain in his stomach. (The kid who didn't try the chicken was totally fine) I took a small bite to try it and my stomach is still messed up with the same symptoms a month and a half later. AVOID THE CHICKEN, DRIVE TO ANOTHER LOCATION or DON'T EAT HERE AT ALL! I don't want anyone else feeling these stomach issues I'm going through now. Walked in today and within 5 seconds cashier pounced to ask what I wanted to order (mental note: say hello and give me a few seconds to look up at the menu). Cashier (female, dark brown hair, amazing lashes) was super kind though! I ordered the most simple sandwich and when it came out it was cold (because I didn't ask for it warmed up) so I asked the male worker to warm it up please. He agreed but took minimum 15 mins until I had to go up and ask for it only for it to be sitting on the side the whole time. No apology or acknowledgment at all, keep in mind there was maybe 6 people in the building. Small nuances but overall love this place and highly recommend! This place is relatively new to the area, so I haven't been a ton yet but my experiences so far have been great. The sandwiches are really good, I especially like the beef dip and in particular the roll they use for it. The service has been great also. The staff was very polite and make a concerted, friendly effort to address you by name while you're there. No doubt this place will succeed in Poway. read more

This is our second time in a row, going into the store to order our sandwiches. I always get a Turkey Deluxe extra turkey and my husband orders the Baja Beef. We get home and there is no Baja Beef just a plain dry turkey sandwich. Sad that we they cannot get the orders correct. It wasn't even busy when we went. When we go the one in Mira Mesa or 4S Ranch we never have this problem. read more

I went there on a busy day but the service was good and the wait was about 10 minutes for sandwiches, which isn't bad. Most sandwiches are around $10 and they're decently filling. I had the baja chicken and the flavor was good, however, it was a little on the greasy side. Considering the ingredients in it, it may be impossible to make it not greasy though. The inside of the restaurant is quite spacious and there's a bar near the patio with a good selection of beers on tap. There's also some TVs spread around so it's not a bad place to hang out with grab some beers and food with friends. read more

I went to board and brew for the first time, after a friend recommended I give it a try, and was wildly impressed. I am super picky and unsure when it comes to beer, but the girl that worked there (iyana-thank you, again!) was so knowledgeable and helpful. She helped me find the perfect beer for my palette , and i was extremely happy with not only how personable and helpful she was but also with what she recommended. all in all, just a really good experience and the service was memorable in the best possible way. read more

Came here on their grand opening day. Decent line, moved quickly, nice clean place, glad they have a bar ( Poway needs places with bar) friendly staff and manager. I ordered a Baja chicken sandwich. Chicken is thin but I rather have a thin piece of meat rather than thick/chunky piece of meat. We also ordered a Baja beef and it was good as well. Their sauce is very good.
