Wow okay, I had mediocre expectations for this one but I'm humbled on yet another coworker outing. I got the taco salad because I'm watching my waistline now that I'm seeing how much my coworkers love to munch, and let me say that it was more like a taco mountain. First of all, the construction was phenomenal and not your basic chip-laden taco salad with meat dust. This one had an actual protein-conscious serving of fresh, juicy chicken thigh meat with pinto beans, avocado, shredded cheese, pico, and corn over a nice peak of fresh chopped romaine. The dressing was like a creamy chipotle. I didn't eat much of it (re: watching waist) but it was tasty. Looking around at my table activated a dormant fatso in me because all of my coworkers had some fat bangin' looking sandwiches with generous fixings. I saw one chowing on a steak sandwich with fries, someone else had a meaty italian sandwich with pasta salad, and I also saw a someone at a distant table with carne asada fries and a breakfast croissant sandwich. I love the variety and the generosity of diverse combos. I didn't drink anything but I saw they also offer the usual cafe-friendly adult beverages which is nice for the public but dangerously tempting for us on a midday break from work! My first time visiting, and I absolutely loved it! This cozy spot is tucked away in an industrial building with both indoor and outdoor seating--such a charming find. They offer a breakfast and lunch menu. We tried the trip sandwich, and it was fantastic--generously portioned and full of flavor. It came with a homemade pasta salad that was just as delicious. The fresh-squeezed lemonade was a perfect touch, and everything we ordered tasted incredibly fresh. Service was quick--food came out fast, and you order at the counter and they bring it to your table. My only recommendation is to change the name to "Thyme of Brunch" LOL bc it's truly a Brunch Spot, plus the word "Brunch" add a 'vibe' to the place that is well deserved!! read more

I get my car fixed in the neighborhood of this business park and I've always looked for a place to grab coffee or snack and when the mechanic referred thyme for lunch, I was surprised that it was so close and had such great reviews. The staff are friendly and the menu is pretty extensive. I would say if I came for lunch, I would have tried the food but instead, I ordered one of their refresh smoothies. I know it's actually quite delicious. I would say it's evenly priced for the area. Next time when I'm hungry, I got to try the breakfast burrito or their sandwich for lunch so I can give another accurate rating of the food. Great brunch spot with great selections. Casual atmosphere located in the business area of Miramar. They make great breakfast and lunch plus coffee. I ordered their macadamia coconut latte, which was so good. French toast not bad either. It came with fresh blueberries and orange slices. Two egg breakfast was plenty with 4 strips of bacon and a bunch of country potatoes. All were delicious. Will definitely return to try their breakfast burrito. The menu had a larger selection than I expected. Very laid back location, even during corporate lunch time rush. First time there, the service was friendly and helpful with making food choices. Terrific place to have breakfast. I had scouted the place before a few months back but didn't go in because parking in that office park was so bad. This time, I walked from my mechanic's place to the restaurant and was still amazed at how small it was. The place is situated back from the street access so it's difficult to see from the road. Anyway, I liked that there were clearly delineated options on the menu board between breakfast and lunch options. I wanted something light and was at first clearly looking at the acai bowl. But as I scanned the rest of the board, I saw that the classic breakfast burrito also read as appetizing. I thought about getting both, but that seemed like too much food for breakfast. So I went with just the burrito. At the register, I saw that there was an Acai berry smoothie so I opted for that. One slight ding: The seating area could use some padded chairs. All of the seating is hard bottom. The burrito was excellent. Well cooked, not too spicy as I did see some peppers in there. Nice proportions and it came out very hot. The smoothie was also excellent. The kicker was a pair of orange slices that came with the burrito. What a novel idea! The oranges functioned as a terrific and surprising palette cleanser from the admittedly salty burrito. Wholeheartedly recommend this place. I hope to try it again soon. read more

We visited Thyme for Lunch for brunch on a week day. It was pretty empty when we arrived around 10am but soon got busy at lunch time. This restaurant is in an area with many businesses around so I imagine that's a lot of their customers. It's a cute restaurant with an open kitchen. The cashiers were nice and checked on us often. I ordered the Verde chilaquiles and it was ok. The tortilla chips were thick, nice and crunchy. They weren't soggy and smothered in salsa. But it was pretty plain. I put on more salsa and that helped. It came with (dry) refried beans and rice. My friends ordered their 2 eggs plate and it was humongous. They didn't finish theirs. Great spot with reasonable prices, likely catering to local workers. The place is clean with plenty of outdoor seating. We tried different breakfast items and coffee, and everything was delicious. This place has been on my places to eat for a long time and I was very excited to finally get my lazy butt over there. When I got there, it was not clear where the pickups were supposed to take place. I tried their Baja Chicken Sammich and I thought it was pretty good especially for the price. I ended up eating it with only one of the slices of bread because it wasn't filled enough where the flavor would come out over the bread (guess that's how they can charge less). I really wasn't a fan of the pasta salad it came with. I'm not sure what they put on it, but I wasn't a fan of the flavor at all. We stopped by there for lunch this afternoon and I had to stop by Yelp and sound the Good News Alarm on this hidden gem. First of all, it is difficult to find - hidden back in an industrial park off Kenamar by the Pyramid. It was nice to see that they put a colorful sign out by the curb to make it easier to find. The parking lot was a little busy, but we were able to find a spot as long as we were willing to walk a little bit. We are a Costco family, so we know what it's like to not park in the front row. This was much better by comparison. Once inside, Thyme for Lunch was a lot of fun with very modern decor and attractive menu boards that are well placed. There is seating that is both inside and out, so depending on the day, there is plenty of space to enjoy your food onsite. I ordered the Cali Sandwich...wait for it...wait for it...ON SQUAW BREAD!!! All my Submarina fans from back in the day will appreciate the love for Squaw bread and yet I never see it in the sandwich shops I go to. Once I saw it on the menu, I knew that was what I was getting. It was like a golden image of this bread that I'm obsessed with was sent down from the heavens calling me...."Jeffffffffff.....try me!!!! If you don't like it, you can go to Yelp!" I'm here to tell you that I didn't like it....I LOVED IT! My sandwich was mouthwateringly delicious and despite it being very large I ate every bite. This lunch was just what the doctor ordered on a busy Monday. It was nice and relaxing and the food was great! We sat outside and it was perfect as half their seating is shaded and half was in sun. I picked up my ham and Brie panini for take out here a week ago. The ambiance was nice and it seems like a great lunch place to go to during the work day if the location is close enough to you. The workers there were friendly and it overall seemed like a vibe! The sandwich came with the usual sandwich with their signature pasta salad - the pasta salad was cooked just right and had a strong cilantro flavor. It paired very well with the sandwich! The only part I was disappointed about was the fact that their panini wasn't grilled. I usually think of grilled paninis so was disappointed to see just a normal sandwich sitting in the box. The amount of stuff in the sandwich wasn't a lot either, so by the time I reached the ends of the sandwich it was just bread. Worst breakfast burrito I've ever had. There were burned tiny pieces of bacon throughout, so the entire burrito tasted badly burned. When someone who worked there came to check on everything, we let her know and she said "yeah the last time I had that it had super burned bacon too."
