    Great sandwiches

Stopped in today with a coworker for lunch. I ordered the caprese sandwich and pasta salad and my friend had a grilled cheese with pasta salad. We enjoyed our food. The service is always great and food always fresh! They have a nice dining area and great menu. Parking can get tight but it's a wonderful spot to eat.

I get my car fixed in the neighborhood of this business park and I've always looked for a place to grab coffee or snack and when the mechanic referred thyme for lunch, I was surprised that it was so close and had such great reviews. The staff are friendly and the menu is pretty extensive. I would say if I came for lunch, I would have tried the food but instead, I ordered one of their refresh smoothies. I know it's actually quite delicious. I would say it's evenly priced for the area. Next time when I'm hungry, I got to try the breakfast burrito or their sandwich for lunch so I can give another accurate rating of the food. Space is quite clean and there's lots of seating both indoor and outdoor.

Great brunch spot with great selections. Casual atmosphere located in the business area of Miramar. They make great breakfast and lunch plus coffee. I ordered their macadamia coconut latte, which was so good. French toast not bad either. It came with fresh blueberries and orange slices. Two egg breakfast was plenty with 4 strips of bacon and a bunch of country potatoes. All were delicious. Will definitely return to try their breakfast burrito. Server/cashier was really nice and brought the food to our table once cooked. They also have self serve water and drop coffee.

We were in the neighborhood running errands. This place popped up on yelp, so we gave it a shot. Quiet location tucked away in a corporate park, so parking was good. The menu had a larger selection than I expected. Very laid back location, even during corporate lunch time rush. First time there, the service was friendly and helpful with making food choices. We ordered clam chowder (with delicious focaccia bread), Cobb salad, tuna melt, and a BLT with a side of pasta salad. All the food was quite tasty.

Terrific place to have breakfast. I had scouted the place before a few months back but didn't go in because parking in that office park was so bad. This time, I walked from my mechanic's place to the restaurant and was still amazed at how small it was. The place is situated back from the street access so it's difficult to see from the road. Anyway, I liked that there were clearly delineated options on the menu board between breakfast and lunch options. I wanted something light and was at first clearly looking at the acai bowl. But as I scanned the rest of the board, I saw that the classic breakfast burrito also read as appetizing. I thought about getting both, but that seemed like too much food for breakfast. So I went with just the burrito. At the register, I saw that there was an Acai berry smoothie so I opted for that. One slight ding: The seating area could use some padded chairs. All of the seating is hard bottom. The burrito was excellent. Well cooked, not too spicy as I did see some peppers in there. Nice proportions and it came out very hot. The smoothie was also excellent. The kicker was a pair of orange slices that came with the burrito. What a novel idea! The oranges functioned as a terrific and surprising palette cleanser from the admittedly salty burrito. Wholeheartedly recommend this place. I hope to try it again soon.

We visited Thyme for Lunch for brunch on a week day. It was pretty empty when we arrived around 10am but soon got busy at lunch time. This restaurant is in an area with many businesses around so I imagine that's a lot of their customers. It's a cute restaurant with an open kitchen. The cashiers were nice and checked on us often. I ordered the Verde chilaquiles and it was ok. The tortilla chips were thick, nice and crunchy. They weren't soggy and smothered in salsa. But it was pretty plain. I put on more salsa and that helped. It came with (dry) refried beans and rice. My friends ordered their 2 eggs plate and it was humongous. They didn't finish theirs. Another friend ordered their acai bowl and she liked hers. The green machine smoothie was good too.

Great spot with reasonable prices, likely catering to local workers. The place is clean with plenty of outdoor seating. We tried different breakfast items and coffee, and everything was delicious. I loved the cheese and spinach omelet--super soft, with lots of potatoes on the side. My Aloha Latte (less sweet) was also excellent and comforting. Friends enjoyed their croissant sandwiches too. Friendly service, with staff all smiles. Highly recommend!

SIMPLY DELICIOUS!!!! very fast service too. i got the Green Machine drink and caprese sandwich with pasta and it was all soooo good. i'm already looking forward to going back there again. i found this place thru a friend who works near the area. this is a popular spot for people to quickly stop by and go.

This place has been on my places to eat for a long time and I was very excited to finally get my lazy butt over there. When I got there, it was not clear where the pickups were supposed to take place. I tried their Baja Chicken Sammich and I thought it was pretty good especially for the price. I ended up eating it with only one of the slices of bread because it wasn't filled enough where the flavor would come out over the bread (guess that's how they can charge less). I really wasn't a fan of the pasta salad it came with. I'm not sure what they put on it, but I wasn't a fan of the flavor at all. I wish you could replace it with another side without an additional cost.

this is the burrito with most of the tortilla cut off

I opened up my burrito to add salsa and noticed that there was hardly any meat. It is very expensive burrito. When I called and asked why, the response was "sorry next time it'll be better." i've always liked their food and this was one of my favorites, but it was never this bad

We got there and she told us to wait while our table is being set up. They ended up taking us to the upstairs room. They had to split the 2 tables to have a seat for us. They wanted us to sit at the table that is in close proximity of the walkway. I said I did not want to sit there because I did not want to have people walk by me the entire time. They had to push the table away from the second one and we had to be closer to the entrance. I said will sit at the second table since it's not near the entrance. I had to repeat this 3 times. She finally said ok, well, I will have to take you downstairs. I said ok. They finally sat us at a table with 2 chairs and out of the way. So, here is the thing.....why was I waiting, if my table was not being set up, to where you had to split 2 tables, and put me closest to the entry way of the door? 2. The lighting is very dark. It was hard to see the food to maneuver and eat. I get this is the ambiance. So...maybe brighter lamps at the table?

It's always a great place to stop before or after going to the airport because it's that close. We originally went there for an early dinner, but happened to meet the happy hour time frame (3:30-5:30). They have a wonderful array of drinks and appetizers to choose from. The most expensive being $11.00. Each appetizer is enough for two people. A man at the bar asked me if I wanted some of his guacamole dip because he could finish it all. He looked like that was his dinner meal too. I declined, since I was favoring the ceviche and chicken tinga tostadas. Both tasted delicious. I heard the bacon wrapped jalapeño were good but not gf. So I didn't try them. The views from our table were spectacular. They had many GF options listed on their menu. Our waiter, Jared, (so helpful and attentive), told me which items are more gluten sensitive and which ones were gluten free. The drinks were tasty and refreshing too. Definitely a place I'll be going back to with family and friends

First, the location and the views are simply stunning. It set the perfect backdrop for a celebratory evening. But what really elevated the vibe was the music! The fish was grilled to tender, paired with smooth avocado puree and fresh salsa--a rich and satisfying bite. But! The biggest surprise is the tortilla--it was on the softer side, yet surprisingly chewy. Smoked Fish Taco: A classic and San Diego signature dish. The fish was shredded into small pieces, giving it a smoky flavor and a slightly dry texture. The taste was nice, but you don't really feel the meat in bites, so it was slightly less impressive. Fish Ceviche: Marinated in lemon juice, the proteins denatured, making the fish appear white and fully cooked, but it still had a firm, raw texture. Completely different from other raw fish ceviche I've had. But! Incredibly tangy!!! The first bite was so tangy it was almost painful; it was only after being served as tapas with tostadas that I gradually got used to it. Lemon juice, tomato, and onion--it was easy to imagine the refreshing taste, while the rich aroma of avocado nicely balanced the harshness. Shrimp Ceviche: The shrimp appeared to be cooked; they weren't large but were quite fresh, with firm and tender meat. See above for other details. The restaurant is located in a small food court, with very limited parking and seating. It may be inconvenient for groups of four or more to dine in.

We left right away to pick up the food and sure enough it was ready waiting for our arrival. One quick drive back home to dig in and the aroma was so enticing. California Burritos is very apt for their name, my bf rates it a 10/10. As a California Burrito connoisseur, he liked the addition of sour cream in it and said the flavors were delicious. He topped it with their green salsa for a little bit of a freshness to cut through the richness and fattiness of the meat and fries in the burrito. He didn't care for the fish taco that much and rated it a 4/10 but said the restaurant overall was a 10/10, as he thought there was too much lettuce and tomato throwing off the ratio of the taco. I, on the other hand, am a huge fan of veggies and liked the ample amount they provided. ---- There's a couple benches outside in front of the shop and seating at booth tables inside as well.
