WOW! What a cool place! We stopped here with our party bus of 20 people for a 60 and a half birthday party earlier this summer. We timed our arrival perfectly with the horse races, it was so cool to see them run so close to the patio! It was a gorgeous day, the patio was very lively. The bar staff was super helpful over the phone and in person. We ordered a few shareable apps for the table and they came out so fast, which was helpful since we had to get back on the bus! We will be back!

My fiancée and I stopped by Boardwalk Kitchen & Bar for happy hour, and it definitely exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was one of my favorite parts since every area of the restaurant has its own vibe, whether you're on the patio, sitting at the bar, or dining inside. We took advantage of the happy hour specials, and the smash burger was easily the standout item of the meal. The service was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Overall, it's a great spot for drinks, good food, and a fun night out, and we'll definitely be back.

This was my first time Boardwalk and I was very impressed! We got happy hour everything was really good I feel like the smash burger was the best so highly recommend. I like that there are are different vibes for the whole restaurant, you could be on the patio at the bar, watching the house races, or having dinner inside. Service was really good I will for sure be back.

We came here on a race day and got lunch. The restaurant space is really attractive; and the colorful horse themed art was fun to see. Although we ate inside, I think the patio space is the place to be as you are right next to the race track and one of the starting gates. It was a cool vantage point and unlike what you get at Canterbury. There was a person on site that could take bets and do payouts if you were lucky enough to be a winner, and the outdoor bar had TVs for viewing the race live. I thought the food was quite overpriced ($141 for 3 entrees that ranged from OK to meh to bad; we could have had better food elsewhere for that price). The ribs and burger was generally well liked at our table. On the other hand, the shrimp fried rice was quite bad. Although it had pineapple in it, the overpowering flavor note was spicy, not sweet. The tempura shrimp was soggy and flabby in the worst way, not crispy, and the rice was overcooked and mushy. I don't think of fried rice as a spicy dish, and would not have ordered if I'd known how spicy it was, and the meal ate as one big pile of soft mush. I'd rate it as the worst rendition of fried rice I've ever had, and it cost $32 for a relatively small serving (not enough for leftovers). We did try some cocktails, too. The Negroni was good. Really...if you come here it's probably for the vibe, entertainment, and cocktails. I'd skip the food at these prices.

I went to Boardwalk for trivia and this place is huge! We had such a fun time here and it was pretty quiet- look forward to coming back when it's a gameday. For food, I got this Spinach Bread and got the chili off of it. To be honest, the taste, amazing. But I have NO IDEA how to eat this thing?? the outside was pretty hard, but the inside was amazing. Overall very odd. My husband got the wings, he said they tasted amazing, but they smelled pretty bad, which was also very odd. I would give this another chance, but maybe trying some different foods. Our server was very kind as was the trivia host- plenty of space for groups too!

Spent over $300 here and the only things we'd recommend are the bread which is $14 and the Brussel sprouts and the burger. The speciality drinks are just meh. The shrimp roll looks good but for $26 is one the most bland cold things I've ever eaten. The actual bread on the roll had more flavor than the shrimp. The bang bang tacos left a lot to be desired and the fish sandwich was just average. Highly recommend you only do with the items suggested or you'll be very underwhelmed. Location and ambiance are amazing.

We were in the area and decided to stop by to check out the new bar. I thought it was inside Canterbury park, but it's actually outside, they have their own building that's not attached and separate parking lot. Since it was later in the evening, the restaurant side was already closed. Only the bar was open. It's pretty lively, there is a small cover charge to get in. DJ plays music throughout the evening unless there's a band to perform. Shakopee has a new dance spot, stop in if you're in the area.

We rented the event space for a lunch event for work for a good price for 5 hrs with lunch buffet included. They have a huge screen with a good sound system and A/V to do presentations. The food was good and the service was very attentive and friendly. The event space is big and very roomy. We had about 55 people so the space was needed. Great venue to host an event.

Atmosphere, food, drinks were all fabulous! Great service. There's a parking lot and we were able to be seated right away on a Thursday for dinner walking in.

My friend and I visited for a lunch and happy hour visit on a Saturday. It was super busy and we ordered a hamburger HH, shrimp cocktail HH, brussel sprouts HH, truffle fries HH, calamari sticks HH, grilled wings HH, and cheese curds HH. The only things that werent on the happy hour menu were our drinks but I stick to my soda. The hamburger was awesome with melted cheese and sweet slow cooked caramelized onions on top. I would get that again. Calamari was excellent but I just couldn't wrap my head around the fry like shape lol. The shrimp cocktail was average but the shrimps were massive! The brussel sprouts were the star of the show with bacon on the bottom. They reheated well and everything, just delicious! The grilled wings were disappointing. They were meaty but both my friend and I found the rub lacking in flavor. The cheese curds were good but served with MUSTARD for some reason? Finally, the truffle fries were simply a pass for my group. The taste was earthy and not in a good way. My friend ordered them and said they didn't taste like she expected but I'm admittedly not a big mushroom fan anyway.

Come for lunch on a Friday and we were seated right away. This location is very large with two different sides and lots of outdoor seating to watch the races at Canterbury. The restaurant is new and is decorated fun with horses all around. We decided on the turkey sandwich with an upgraded side of Mac and cheese and Watermelon salad with a side of chicken. The proportions were large and we both had food to take home. The food came out really quick/hot. The sandwich was delicious and enough for two to share. The salad was so fresh and filling and they actually gave a whole chicken breast that was flavored perfectly.

Had an amazing experience this evening! Popped in during the last few minutes of happy hour (around 5:55pm) for a girls' night and ended up staying to hear the live music / DJ till 11:30pm! Loved the food, LOVED the drinks, and the service was amazing (sat at the bar). Even the bathrooms were very clean!!! That's unfortunately rare these days!!! 5 stars, highly recommend, and will be returning! (:

We went to try some appetizers. We ordered mussels, wings, fococia bread, and truffle fries. Our favorite was the bread. The place has great indoor space and a huge outdoor space that overlooks the racetrack. The service was great and we would come back.

We went back today and while it was still good, definitely wasn't as good as it was last time. The jerk chicken plate removed the beans, changed the rice, and got rid of the sauce so it wasn't as good though it was a bit less dry than last time. They also removed the Ropa Vieja from the menu which was our favorite. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and was not impressed. The fries with it were good. The drinks were still great. Service was friendly but slow (drinks, food, and waitress all slow). Another in our party got the blackened salmon which was really good. Unfortunately, I was so nervous they would remove or change the menu to be worse, which is a common theme I've noticed with 4 different restaurants by these owners now, so I was so bummed to see that's exactly what happened. Such a cool vibe, great drinks, and a really cool new patio - but the food needs a bit of work - bring back the Ropa Vieja and the better jerk chicken!

Great food, great service, there's not much I would change!…read more Mr. Pig Stuff recently moved into a new location and I have to begin by saying, their new space is beautiful. It's gives off a modern whiskey house/southern rustic vibe. Plenty of indoor seating and a cute patio with an indoor/outdoor bar top. I have eaten here 3 times in the past few months and my experience has been the same each time, wonderful! My two favorite meals are the Smoked Chicken Wings and The Pile sandwich. The chicken wings: I'm the type to always sauce up any wing I get. Pig Stuff's wings will come out dry rubbed with your sauce in the side. At first I was hesitant but now I know why! Their dry rub is fantastic! The flavors are Smokey, savory, and salty - easily eaten on their own. The meat is very juicy and falls off of the bone! (8.5/10) The Pile: this is a sandwich consisting of brisket, pulled pork, Mac & cheese, and coleslaw. It's a monster of a sandwich and could definitely make a mess but OMG it is tasty! The sandwich comes with BQQ sauce, but who needs it when you have the juiciness of the pork, smokiness of the brisket, creaminess of the Mac & cheese, and the tang of coleslaw! It's almost hard not to finish this sandwich. (9/10) Another favorite are their fries. Fresh, crispy, and well seasoned. You can also get them as garlic parm fries where they drizzle their wing sauce across the top - YUM. (8/10) Lastly, the service here has always been impeccable. You're greeted with a smile by everyone. I have yet to meet a server or bartender that wasnt engaging. Looking forward to coming back around!

We made a reservation on both occasions but didn't have to make it too much in advance so it's always worth checking on. Service is always spectacular with a huge attention to detail and really customized spiels about the menu. The things I've recently tried for drinks have included the spritz del ambratta, the fiore, and a sparkling red from their wine selection. I find myself going back to the Fiore and would recommend that most although their wine is a solid selection as well. In my opinion, the best starter combination is the focaccia plus the lemony beans. The focaccia is solid and it's so good to dip in the mixture that the beans are doused in. The Caesar was decent as well but you can't miss with that other combo. Then, of course, the mains. If you love creamy pasta, do yourself a favor and get the cavatelli. One of my favorite dishes I've had there; I kept almost comparing it to an adult Mac and cheese. Great for sharing if creamy pastas are a bit too rich for your liking. The lasagna is always a close second and you can't go wrong with it. My friend adored the pickle pizza and I thought it was solid too although I would still probably get the cavatelli or lasagna if you are between that and the pizza. Another great shareable. The saffron spaghetti was decent with some really good bite from the noodles and the taste of saffron really coming through, but I would probably get those other dishes before I would order that. On the first occasion, I was there we were celebrating two of my friends' 30th birthdays and H&S did such a good job of celebrating and making them feel special plus they brought out French silk pie cannolis for us plus glasses of sparkling wine, so I would highly recommend this place as a celebratory dinner. This place does get busy so definitely keep that in mind. Luckily I made reservations ahead of time so we had a table waiting for us, otherwise we would have been put on a waiting list since it's a small space. They put us in a corner booth which was nice and spacious enough for 4 people so I'd definitely recommend asking for a booth verse a table if you're planning to come with a larger group. The servers are all very friendly and helpful. I appreciated their attentiveness and sharing what they like best, especially for what's in season based on the time of year. The menu has quite a bit of variety too which is sometimes unexpected when you come to a pub-style location. For appetizers we got Onion Ring and Fried Pickles. They were both really good and served with dipping sauces. Definitely both shareable items so if you're in a group they'd be great options! My entree I chose the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon served with lemon soy marinade, creamy cucumbers, and jasmine rice -- it was SO good!! I loved the creaminess of the cucumbers especially with the rice and than the lemon soy marinade was just a unique touch to the salmon. Toned the flavors down without overpowering acidity. And the salmon was so dreamy, a beautiful pink color that you just knew it wasn't a farm raised salmon. Plus the portion was very generous!! I'd definitely recommend the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon to anyone interested in visiting here. #eatwildsavewild The only negatives (which are more so just knowledge bombs for you): * Restaurant is VERY loud. It's hard to hear because it is one small room that everyone plus the bar is in. I wished I would have took a picture to show what I mean. Just know that if it's an intimate setting you're looking for this is not the place. So be prepared to talk loudly over the loudness and ask "excuse me?" or "repeat that" many times throughout your visit because you're not going to hear everything. * Timed eating. Because this place is a hit with limited seating, once you get a table and complete your meal/payment you'll kindly be asked to leave so that they can clean up and open the table to next in line. Totally get that and am not put off by this at all, but I could see how it could catch some folks off guard especially if you are out for a meal with folks you may not see frequently-- so just keep that in mind. This is not the place to sit and talk post meal. * Parking is limited. Be prepared to walk a few blocks as the road parking in front of the business is pretty limited especially with the other stores and restaurants in the area. Regardless of those few bullets I highly recommend folks visit George & The Dragon. It's a really cool spot and the food was great! Plus theirs a malt shop right next door that looks yummy too, so definitely worth visiting and getting malts after for dessert.
