Would have lowered this review but to be fair she was the only waitress for all the tables inside and on the patio. A different group brings the food but they need more wait staff. Drinks took way too long and I waited even longer to pay the bill. Fortunately a bartender noticed and came over offering to run my cc. Nice of them. Good was great. This is loudest place I've ever been to in my life. I had dinner in the restaurant, walked out to the patio, and spent time listening to music in the bar, and all were equally overstimulating and LOUD. My Soundprint app registered 85-91 decibels. As I screamed my order to my server, I wondered what the point of this is. Do they want people to leave as quickly as possible? The food was absolutely delicious (spicy rigatoni for me, ribs for my husband), and drinks were good. The decor is nice and the patio is a great idea, and quite spacious. Service was polite and professional, if a tad slow. Prices were a bit high. If the environment was better for an upscale date, I wouldn't have minded the prices. This seems like a place you'd get a bit dressed up to go to and spend money on your date. However, you can't have a conversation because IT'S SO LOUD. My husband and I just stared at each other from across the table because we couldn't talk without shouting at each other. We then moved into the bar to listen to music but only stayed a half hour because it was rattling my skull. We came to Boardwalk for dinner and drinks before a show at Mystic Lake Amphitheater. I really liked the smash burger and fries! I wish the dry rub chicken wings were more crispy but the seasoning and blue cheese were decent. Drinks were well priced and had a good variety. Our waiter was helpful and tried to time everything perfectly so we could make it on the shuttle to the show. The atmosphere in the restaurant was super fun and upbeat. Everyone was having a fun time whether they were there for the horse races or the concert. The space itself is awesome and a great addition to the Twin Cities. I went to the Boardwalk because they were hosting 93X along with an acoustic appearance by Eva Under Fire. I did not eat nor did I look at a menu. The large bar area that I was in had a menu via QR code and when food was ready you went and got it yourself. WOW! What a cool place! We stopped here with our party bus of 20 people for a 60 and a half birthday party earlier this summer. We timed our arrival perfectly with the horse races, it was so cool to see them run so close to the patio! It was a gorgeous day, the patio was very lively. We came here on a race day and got lunch. The restaurant space is really attractive; and the colorful horse themed art was fun to see. Although we ate inside, I think the patio space is the place to be as you are right next to the race track and one of the starting gates. It was a cool vantage point and unlike what you get at Canterbury. There was a person on site that could take bets and do payouts if you were lucky enough to be a winner, and the outdoor bar had TVs for viewing the race live. I thought the food was quite overpriced ($141 for 3 entrees that ranged from OK to meh to bad; we could have had better food elsewhere for that price). The ribs and burger was generally well liked at our table. On the other hand, the shrimp fried rice was quite bad. Although it had pineapple in it, the overpowering flavor note was spicy, not sweet. The tempura shrimp was soggy and flabby in the worst way, not crispy, and the rice was overcooked and mushy. I don't think of fried rice as a spicy dish, and would not have ordered if I'd known how spicy it was, and the meal ate as one big pile of soft mush. I'd rate it as the worst rendition of fried rice I've ever had, and it cost $32 for a relatively small serving (not enough for leftovers). We did try some cocktails, too. The Negroni was good. Really...if you come here it's probably for the vibe, entertainment, and cocktails. I'd skip the food at these prices. read more

I went to Boardwalk for trivia and this place is huge! We had such a fun time here and it was pretty quiet- look forward to coming back when it's a gameday. For food, I got this Spinach Bread and got the chili off of it. To be honest, the taste, amazing. But I have NO IDEA how to eat this thing?? the outside was pretty hard, but the inside was amazing. Overall very odd. My husband got the wings, he said they tasted amazing, but they smelled pretty bad, which was also very odd. I would give this another chance, but maybe trying some different foods. The restaurant has a nice layout, very comfortable low lighting with a somewhat open kitchen look and a large bar in the middle. I imagine it would be really nice in the spring/summer as there is a horse track right outside of the restaurant which would provide a great view to a race. It definitely got a little loud just sitting inside They had a large variety of options to choose from on the menu. They also offered a great and surprisingly extensive Happy Hour Menu which we got there in time to take advantage of.  We got the burger and thought it was very tasty, we love a good caramelized onion. I thought it definitely needed some ketchup to balance out the heaviness of the onions and cheese with a little bright acidity. I also thought the patties themselves were very good, thin with a slight crisp to them with a soft bun and melty sauces and cheese. Since it was a happy hour option the burger did not come with any sides like it would have as an entrée. We also got fish tacos and we were a big fan of the slaw and pineapple mayo which brought a balance of sweet and savory to the dish. Only came with two tacos (at least for happy hour) which might not be enough food if you're hungry. The hot smoked salmon was one of the more unique items we tried. The salmon itself was super tasty - salty and smoky just what you want. They use the smaller scraps of salmon that wouldn't work in their Wood-Fired King Salmon entrée and incorporate it into this appetizer which is great sustainability-wise! The salmon came with a creamy ricotta, salty capers, crunchy crostini, and sweet and acidic pickled red onions. We liked this combination a lot but felt it could have used even more sweetness/acidity, maybe just adding a couple more onions to the dish. We really enjoyed the 'Garganelli' pasta dish. It was creamy and indulgent with pieces of lobster and freshly shaved parmesan on top. The chili added a really nice layer of heat but wasn't overpowering. The server was nice enough to split up everything we had over the evening to share (which explains the two small portions in the photo). MN Mule - 8/10 Pretty average but solid mule. However, it was served in a plastic spam cup which elevated the whole experience. Margarita - 9/10 Very good margarita - we were told it was a house made margarita not from a mix. Very bright and fresh flavors that definitely let the tequila shine. Overall would definitely recommend! read more

We were in the area and decided to stop by to check out the new bar. I thought it was inside Canterbury park, but it's actually outside, they have their own building that's not attached and separate parking lot. Since it was later in the evening, the restaurant side was already closed. Only the bar was open. It's pretty lively, there is a small cover charge to get in. DJ plays music throughout the evening unless there's a band to perform. Shakopee has a new dance spot, stop in if you're in the area. read more

Spent over $300 here and the only things we'd recommend are the bread which is $14 and the Brussel sprouts and the burger. The speciality drinks are just meh. The shrimp roll looks good but for $26 is one the most bland cold things I've ever eaten. The actual bread on the roll had more flavor than the shrimp. The bang bang tacos left a lot to be desired and the fish sandwich was just average. Highly recommend you only do with the items suggested or you'll be very underwhelmed. Come for lunch on a Friday and we were seated right away. This location is very large with two different sides and lots of outdoor seating to watch the races at Canterbury. The restaurant is new and is decorated fun with horses all around. We decided on the turkey sandwich with an upgraded side of Mac and cheese and Watermelon salad with a side of chicken. The proportions were large and we both had food to take home. The food came out really quick/hot. The sandwich was delicious and enough for two to share. My friend and I visited for a lunch and happy hour visit on a Saturday. It was super busy and we ordered a hamburger HH, shrimp cocktail HH, brussel sprouts HH, truffle fries HH, calamari sticks HH, grilled wings HH, and cheese curds HH. The only things that werent on the happy hour menu were our drinks but I stick to my soda. The hamburger was awesome with melted cheese and sweet slow cooked caramelized onions on top. I would get that again. Calamari was excellent but I just couldn't wrap my head around the fry like shape lol. The shrimp cocktail was average but the shrimps were massive! The brussel sprouts were the star of the show with bacon on the bottom. They reheated well and everything, just delicious! The grilled wings were disappointing. They were meaty but both my friend and I found the rub lacking in flavor. The cheese curds were good but served with MUSTARD for some reason? Finally, the truffle fries were simply a pass for my group. The taste was earthy and not in a good way. I hesitate to write such a good review as I'd like to keep this place more of a secret but, I won't be selfish. We sat at the outside bar which literally is a spit away from the racetrack. Flynn was our bartender and was super friendly, attentive, and made several food suggestions. I love that. Our only complaint about the bar area was the seats which are quite uncomfortable (made from wrought iron and left waffle print on your legs). The food was excellent albeit a bit spendy, but I think the novelty and uniqueness of this place makes it well worth it! Don't hesitate to give this place a try. It would do better as American-fare compared to what the options are currently. We were seated in the patio - the server was great - drinks were good. The popovers were tasty - 3 of them for $10 - love that. Then the entrees themselves - I got the ricotta gnocchi and my husband got the couscous chicken. Both entrées came out cold. My entrée did not have any ricotta in it and the kale was a miss, spinach would've been a better choice. The couscous entrée was crunchy and the chicken was over salted. WHY ARE WE YELLING?! Too LOUD! Appreciate the new restaurant to fill the extreme lack of appropriate quality level restaurants in Prior Lake/shakopee. It's a Standard restaurant with standard expected food. And rave about your oysters specifically -then make sure you have a ALL STAFF meeting prior to opening to go over food and know where the oysters and food is coming from. Apparently our oysters came from California -after we regrettably ate four of them. *Make sure you have a competent shucker. *And do not cut into them to spread the oysters to other shells. When seating customers do not make them sit there for 10mn before they are greeted. I don't know if I will go to eat here again anything but side orders.
