The restaurant has a nice layout, very comfortable low lighting with a somewhat open kitchen look and a large bar in the middle. I imagine it would be really nice in the spring/summer as there is a horse track right outside of the restaurant which would provide a great view to a race. It definitely got a little loud just sitting inside They had a large variety of options to choose from on the menu. They also offered a great and surprisingly extensive Happy Hour Menu which we got there in time to take advantage of.  We got the burger and thought it was very tasty, we love a good caramelized onion. I thought it definitely needed some ketchup to balance out the heaviness of the onions and cheese with a little bright acidity. I also thought the patties themselves were very good, thin with a slight crisp to them with a soft bun and melty sauces and cheese. Since it was a happy hour option the burger did not come with any sides like it would have as an entrée. We also got fish tacos and we were a big fan of the slaw and pineapple mayo which brought a balance of sweet and savory to the dish. Only came with two tacos (at least for happy hour) which might not be enough food if you're hungry. The hot smoked salmon was one of the more unique items we tried. The salmon itself was super tasty - salty and smoky just what you want. They use the smaller scraps of salmon that wouldn't work in their Wood-Fired King Salmon entrée and incorporate it into this appetizer which is great sustainability-wise! The salmon came with a creamy ricotta, salty capers, crunchy crostini, and sweet and acidic pickled red onions. We liked this combination a lot but felt it could have used even more sweetness/acidity, maybe just adding a couple more onions to the dish. We really enjoyed the 'Garganelli' pasta dish. It was creamy and indulgent with pieces of lobster and freshly shaved parmesan on top. The chili added a really nice layer of heat but wasn't overpowering. The server was nice enough to split up everything we had over the evening to share (which explains the two small portions in the photo). MN Mule - 8/10 Pretty average but solid mule. However, it was served in a plastic spam cup which elevated the whole experience. Margarita - 9/10 Very good margarita - we were told it was a house made margarita not from a mix. This is loudest place I've ever been to in my life. I had dinner in the restaurant, walked out to the patio, and spent time listening to music in the bar, and all were equally overstimulating and LOUD. My Soundprint app registered 85-91 decibels. As I screamed my order to my server, I wondered what the point of this is. Do they want people to leave as quickly as possible? The food was absolutely delicious (spicy rigatoni for me, ribs for my husband), and drinks were good. The decor is nice and the patio is a great idea, and quite spacious. Service was polite and professional, if a tad slow. Prices were a bit high. If the environment was better for an upscale date, I wouldn't have minded the prices. This seems like a place you'd get a bit dressed up to go to and spend money on your date. However, you can't have a conversation because IT'S SO LOUD. My husband and I just stared at each other from across the table because we couldn't talk without shouting at each other. We then moved into the bar to listen to music but only stayed a half hour because it was rattling my skull. This place has potential but if they want to be upscale they need to make it a place where you can actually talk to the people you're with. read more

Spent over $300 here and the only things we'd recommend are the bread which is $14 and the Brussel sprouts and the burger. The speciality drinks are just meh. The shrimp roll looks good but for $26 is one the most bland cold things I've ever eaten. The actual bread on the roll had more flavor than the shrimp. The bang bang tacos left a lot to be desired and the fish sandwich was just average. Highly recommend you only do with the items suggested or you'll be very underwhelmed. I went to Boardwalk for trivia and this place is huge! We had such a fun time here and it was pretty quiet- look forward to coming back when it's a gameday. For food, I got this Spinach Bread and got the chili off of it. To be honest, the taste, amazing. But I have NO IDEA how to eat this thing?? the outside was pretty hard, but the inside was amazing. Overall very odd. My husband got the wings, he said they tasted amazing, but they smelled pretty bad, which was also very odd. I would give this another chance, but maybe trying some different foods. We were in the area and decided to stop by to check out the new bar. I thought it was inside Canterbury park, but it's actually outside, they have their own building that's not attached and separate parking lot. Since it was later in the evening, the restaurant side was already closed. Only the bar was open. It's pretty lively, there is a small cover charge to get in. DJ plays music throughout the evening unless there's a band to perform. Shakopee has a new dance spot, stop in if you're in the area. read more

My friend and I visited for a lunch and happy hour visit on a Saturday. It was super busy and we ordered a hamburger HH, shrimp cocktail HH, brussel sprouts HH, truffle fries HH, calamari sticks HH, grilled wings HH, and cheese curds HH. The only things that werent on the happy hour menu were our drinks but I stick to my soda. The hamburger was awesome with melted cheese and sweet slow cooked caramelized onions on top. I would get that again. Calamari was excellent but I just couldn't wrap my head around the fry like shape lol. The shrimp cocktail was average but the shrimps were massive! The brussel sprouts were the star of the show with bacon on the bottom. They reheated well and everything, just delicious! The grilled wings were disappointing. They were meaty but both my friend and I found the rub lacking in flavor. The cheese curds were good but served with MUSTARD for some reason? Finally, the truffle fries were simply a pass for my group. The taste was earthy and not in a good way. We rented the event space for a lunch event for work for a good price for 5 hrs with lunch buffet included. They have a huge screen with a good sound system and A/V to do presentations. The food was good and the service was very attentive and friendly. The event space is big and very roomy. We had about 55 people so the space was needed. Great venue to host an event. read more

Come for lunch on a Friday and we were seated right away. This location is very large with two different sides and lots of outdoor seating to watch the races at Canterbury. The restaurant is new and is decorated fun with horses all around. We decided on the turkey sandwich with an upgraded side of Mac and cheese and Watermelon salad with a side of chicken. The proportions were large and we both had food to take home. The food came out really quick/hot. The sandwich was delicious and enough for two to share. I hesitate to write such a good review as I'd like to keep this place more of a secret but, I won't be selfish. We sat at the outside bar which literally is a spit away from the racetrack. Flynn was our bartender and was super friendly, attentive, and made several food suggestions. I love that. Our only complaint about the bar area was the seats which are quite uncomfortable (made from wrought iron and left waffle print on your legs). The food was excellent albeit a bit spendy, but I think the novelty and uniqueness of this place makes it well worth it! Don't hesitate to give this place a try. This place always leaves us blown away. We love eating the oysters, mussels, salmon and tomahawk. The service is amazing. The staff is all so friendly and cater to each and every person in a fantastic way. The resturant is fun as its patio is where you can watch the horse races. Second time here. Wanted to like it because we like the location. We eat out a lot. This place is so over priced. Sat at the bar area that was open which was in front of the glass washer. The "security" guard kept throwing the rags in my space at the bar! Manager came & cleaned her hands on rags. Wings came with 1 flat all dummies. Asked for crispy and came black ash charred. This place has an identify crisis with the menu. It really does not fit the vibe. The entree options are not impressive. It would do better as American-fare compared to what the options are currently. We were seated in the patio - the server was great - drinks were good. The popovers were tasty - 3 of them for $10 - love that. Then the entrees themselves - I got the ricotta gnocchi and my husband got the couscous chicken. Both entrées came out cold. My entrée did not have any ricotta in it and the kale was a miss, spinach would've been a better choice. The couscous entrée was crunchy and the chicken was over salted. The entire bill was $117 with tip - seems steep for subpar food. Don't think we'll be coming back for dinner, for drinks and apps it's fine. read more

WHY ARE WE YELLING?! Too LOUD! Appreciate the new restaurant to fill the extreme lack of appropriate quality level restaurants in Prior Lake/shakopee. It's a Standard restaurant with standard expected food. For boring old Midwest suburban people that think the louder and more chaotic a place is the more they're part of some cooler scene than they really are, this place is great. And rave about your oysters specifically -then make sure you have a ALL STAFF meeting prior to opening to go over food and know where the oysters and food is coming from. Apparently our oysters came from California -after we regrettably ate four of them. *Make sure you have a competent shucker. *And do not cut into them to spread the oysters to other shells. When seating customers do not make them sit there for 10mn before they are greeted. I don't know if I will go to eat here again anything but side orders. We all agreed what a beautiful place to hang out and get a drink and bar food from and that's it. Was hoping Shakopee could take on at least one fine 5star establishment. Sat at the bar which was not busy...in fact there were only two other people besides the two of us. I asked for the wine list and the "bartender" had no idea where it was. She left and then someone else appeared with the list. I ordered the split and two separate "bartenders" tried to make a spritz. Who are all these servers that are clueless? We have visited Boardwalk 4 times and are truly impressed. There is something for everyone here with both dining and atmosphere! We have dined sitting on the expansive outdoor patio, in the gorgeous private dining room, and had lunch in the impressive dining room. All the dishes we have tried have been OUTSTANDING, especially the halibut dishes.. YUM!! The Stable side is so cool for an evening of drinks and dancing with LIVE music! (Also the shrimp roll in the Stable area is amazing too!!) It's such a cool space how it ties into the outdoor patio - is a one of a kind entertainment area. You can enjoy the races, do some betting, play pull tabs, play bags, sit by the outdoor fireplace, or just enjoy the summer weather. We will definitely be back!! read more

Service was good although we arrived Early evening on Tuesday a non track day. Ambiance was good and by the time we left the area outside was nicely full and the restaurant and bar seating was nearly full. Food, mainly a disaster. Calamari was very good. Shrimp hush puppies were undercooked inside to the point of gummy. Popovers were overcooked with burned areas on outside but the inside was good. The hamburgers were tender and moist, the cheese barely melted but portion is large. Cocktail cruel summer was refreshing and tasty. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary so our dessert was on the house and their choice. We received the strawberry Bundt cake with whipping cream. It was terrible! The berries were macerated and mushy, the Bundt cake was beyond dry and no taste or flavor. The cream was excellent. We saw lots of food being delivered and hope others found theirs satisfying. We could return but probably not anytime soon. We left disappointed in the food we ate except for the calamari and hamburger. read more

The venue is nice, fun to watch the horse races. The service and attitude of the staff was terrible. Several people were saying that they are severely understaffed and cannot accommodate the volume of people which goes to show the bad ownership and management. You could not order food unless you sat in a small table section and they would not let you carry food to a picnic table at all.
