Visited 3/19 and 5/8/26. Yum! This place has become an instant fave and I'm so excited for patio season. Ample street parking available. We made a reservation on both occasions but didn't have to make it too much in advance so it's always worth checking on. Service is always spectacular with a huge attention to detail and really customized spiels about the menu. The things I've recently tried for drinks have included the spritz del ambratta, the fiore, and a sparkling red from their wine selection. I find myself going back to the Fiore and would recommend that most although their wine is a solid selection as well. In my opinion, the best starter combination is the focaccia plus the lemony beans. The focaccia is solid and it's so good to dip in the mixture that the beans are doused in. The Caesar was decent as well but you can't miss with that other combo. Then, of course, the mains. If you love creamy pasta, do yourself a favor and get the cavatelli. One of my favorite dishes I've had there; I kept almost comparing it to an adult Mac and cheese. Great for sharing if creamy pastas are a bit too rich for your liking. The lasagna is always a close second and you can't go wrong with it. My friend adored the pickle pizza and I thought it was solid too although I would still probably get the cavatelli or lasagna if you are between that and the pizza. Another great shareable. The saffron spaghetti was decent with some really good bite from the noodles and the taste of saffron really coming through, but I would probably get those other dishes before I would order that. On the first occasion, I was there we were celebrating two of my friends' 30th birthdays and H&S did such a good job of celebrating and making them feel special plus they brought out French silk pie cannolis for us plus glasses of sparkling wine, so I would highly recommend this place as a celebratory dinner. We finally made it back to one of our favorite spots in downtown Hopkins, and we were delighted to see that the new patio is open for the season! Such a lovely new spot to enjoy some delicious food! We came with some friends this time and were able to order a few more dishes to share. The stars of the show were the lasagna and the cavatelli dishes. The cavatelli is so unique and rich with the hazelnuts and house made boursin. The lasagna was such a lovely new experience; it was a white cheese lasagna with mushrooms and it was absolutely amazing. The new cocktails are delicious as well but we were missing the Fiore from the menu, hopefully that one will return in the future! read more

Hendrix & Siena is situated on a quaint corner on Hopkins Mainstreet, with big windows that let in lots of natural light. The menu is focused and highlights pastas and pizza. Some of the dishes are seasonal, while others seem to be regular staples. We especially enjoyed the unique take on bruschetta featuring eggplant and 'nduja, and the two layer lasagna was an interesting way to serve the dish. I came here for my birthday earlier this week and wow what a wonderful experience. The food was all around fantastic. This restaurant opened in January 2025 and glad I came across it online! Fiore - 8.7/10 3 of us ordered this drink and it was very good, simple gin-based drink. The drops of herb-infused EVOO on the top was a nice touch and a refreshing cocktail. Lablabi - 8.1/10 None of us had tried a dish like this before. Fun combo of burrata, chick peas, harissa paste, and croutons. It really worked well together and is apparently a staple dish in Tunisia. Caesar salad - 7/10 Very light, good parmesan, lemony, I would have liked more toppings but given how creamy many of the other dishes were, perhaps a lighter start to the meal was good. :) Banh mi pizza - 9.2/10 This was their pizza of the day. It was so tasty with slow roasted pork, cucumber, and a delicious curst. Excited to come back another time and try their hot honey pepperoni. Pappardelle alla lisa - 8/10 Having ordered pappardelle a few times recently, I'm finding it's not my favorite noodle because it's more floppy and less chewy because of how wide and thin it is. Regardless, still a good dish, the meat sauce was a little more muted in flavor than I expected, maybe the nuttiness of the grana padano contributed to a different flavor profile. Cavatelli - 9.5/10 This was the best dish of the night and surprised us all! How could butternut squash be so good. However, this was like the best, creamiest mac and cheese. Such a satisfying texture, the boursin sauce was incredible. This is one of those rare special dishes I will remember and come back for some day. Lasagna - 9/10 Really good white lasagna, creamy sauce, with a mushroom-forward flavor. It's nice having a thinner two-layer lasagna. Chicken Parm - 8.9/10 So different than everything else on the menu! Incredibly crispy deep fried chicken with some good spices from chili crisp. Felt like eating ribs because they were served on a skewer. Spaghetti - 7.9/10 Savory olive oil and butter sauce, well prepared dish with zucchini, lighter than the other pasta dishes. Budino/Lemon meringue - 8.4/10 Excellent custard/pudding and mix of flavors Cannolis French silk - 8.2/10 I don't typically go for cannolis because of the ricotta filling but these were very good. My wife and I went to Hendrix and Siena, one of our favorite spots in downtown Hopkins Friday night, and were blown away yet again. We shared the Caesar salad, and I ordered the French Onion Agnolotti, then afterwards we split an affogato. The Caesar Salad was well covered in a delicious Parmesan cheese, the lettuce was at its peak freshness, and the dressing was light, fragrant and lemony. So delicious! The French Onion Agnolotti was the star of the show! It consisted of noodles stuffed with potato's, with French onion soup broth and a cheese that's stuffed with caramelized onion. It was unbelievably savory, rich, and the cheese itself hosted an aromatic variety of herbs that took it all to the next level Finally, we finished with the affogato. Never thought to try eggnog flavor and coffee together, but it was a perfect Christmas pairing. The sweetness of the ice cream, eggnogs flavor and espresso were a match made in heaven. Throughout our experience our staff provided a top level of service. Always making sure we had what we needed, cleaning our table of all crumbs and fallen cheese between courses, and swapping out plates and silverware to not cross contaminate our courses. Beautiful space and great staff. Plenty of residential parking. I got the orecchiette and the pasta was cooked perfectly! The sauce was also pretty good with a balanced flavor of sour, salty, and a touch of bitterness. My partner got the pappardelle de lisa and I was a little less impressed with this dish. The meat sauce was a bit too acidic and the pasta was super thin. My friend got the lasagna and said that it was good, but not much else. The drinks, were delicious! What a very cute charming restaurant! Had a lovely date night here and was very happy we were able to get a table without a reservation. The restaurant is small so I can see why having a reservation in the future would be helpful. We started with an Elote Salad which was so delicious. I would say caution because I had no idea there would be sliced jalapeños with the inside of the jalapeño's still in there and that's like the crazy spicy part. Some slices were inconsistent and I just moved all the jalapeños a side and did not eat them. I tried one to see what it would taste like as a whole but it just was too spicy I couldn't enjoy other flavors. I'd say remove the jalapeños and you have a better salad. Next we decided to try the special which was a lobster pizza. I thought it was a unique pizza and very tasty. I'm glad I was able to try it. Lastly the dessert was so so so delicious! My husband and I are huge fans of Creme brûlée and this was just delicious as it had a peach cobbler crumble that was so tasty! We were coming back to the cities from a day in Hutchinson and randomly found Hendrix and Siena because we wanted pizza. It did not disappoint! Food was excellent from start to finish. Elote Caesar was one of the best Caesar salads I've had. We were really debating the lobster pizza at $40 but it was definitely worth it as a unique one-time pizza. Delicious! The crème brulee was unique with peaches on top. Super delicious if a little small portion wise. Loved the space itself. Cozy and inviting. Our server Andrew was top-notch. Love that there's now an upscale pasta place on the west side! The reservations are always booked out, so plan ahead. We tried the pappardelle alla Lisa and the lasagna duefoglie. The lasagna was incredible and very light. The pappardelle noodles were great, and the sauce was good but basic. What a wonderful place in Hopkins! We shared a lot and we are glad we did! We started with the pepperoni pizza. This was one of the best artisan style pizzas in the Twin Cities. I then ordered the Caesar salad. Good not fab! Then we had the chicken! A must to order! So good and enough to share. We had two pastas one with butternut squash which was good and one with three day Ravi. Both really good! We ended with yummy French silk cannolis. Located right off Main Street in Downtown Hopkins, Bar Siena brings is a great new addition in the west metro! There is ample street parking right outside of the restaurant and the interior is cozy and welcoming, with small candles on each table. We were welcomed in by the hostess right away and were seated a bit earlier than our reservation which was a bonus. We were really looking forward to the Cavatelli and the Pappardelle Alla Lisa which they were unfortunately out of. So instead, we ordered the Ricotta Gnocchi, lasagna duefoglie, and the dill pickle pizza. I was very pleasantly surprised with the lasagna and found it to be my favorite dish of the night! The ricotta gnocchi was a somewhat small portion size so if that would have been my whole meal, I would have been a bit bummed but was perfect to split as an appetizer. They were smothered in the Calabrian chile sauce so be prepared for spice! The dill pickle pizza had the most amazingly, crispy crust! It had a stronger dill than pickle flavor so if you aren't a huuuuge pickle fan but like dill, this would be the perfect pizza for you! Bar Siena could have fooled anyone, moving through their opening Saturday evening as if it were their hundredth. I usually expect the first few nights, weeks, sometimes months at any new restaurant to be clunky. However, this was not our experience at Bar Siena. Staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgable. Our waitress let us order slowly, checked in appropriately, and did not seem too overwhelmed. Each of our dishes came out as expected, hot and on time. Not to mention the elegantly simple interior. With curved ceilings, glowy, soft-yellow lighting and pearly, light pink walls, it's not only inviting but unlike what you'd imagine for a previously quiet Chinese restaurant turned Italian dining space. The pizza is good, really good. My favorite was the Dill Pickle. Although I avoid this item at the State Fair, as it always looks kinda greasy and a little too cheesy, Bar Siena's rendition is the opposite. The crust is almost sourdough like but with more flavor. The combination of both provolone and havarti work well and the delicate cornichons and grated horseradish combine to make a salty, savory, yet subtle dill bite. We also tried the Chicken Tikka pizza. The flavor profile was so unique, with a bright apricot mostarda to cut through the tomato sauce, finely shredded chicken, and crunchy chickpeas. Good pizza is hard - they have it figured out. Our small dishes consisted of the Lemony Beans and the fried mozzarella ball (Mozzarella in Carozza). The former dish consists of beautiful butter beans coated in a vibrant olive oil based marinade with chopped broccolini and my favorite, grana padano. The beans bursts with flavor and the dish is perfect to share. The mozzarella was recommended, but maybe my least favorite dish, only because everything else was incredible. Picture a fried mozzarella ball in a tangy, spicy red sauce. It was good, but by the time we split it four ways, all the cheese had oozed from the crust and it was slightly cold. More likely user error than anything else. Although each pasta dish looked appetizing, we finally landed on the Ricotta Gnocchi. Now that I think about it, I didn't notice the ricotta, unless it was mixed with the sauce, which certainly took after the Calabrian chiles. So spicy. The gnocchi was cooked to perfection, with a bit of a bite on the outside and soft, pillowy interior. A very small dish, but with the flavor profile being so strong, I think it ended up being the perfect amount. We ended the night with Tapioca Budino. I haven't ever had tapioca; I haven't ever had budino? Do they go together? Either way, the little tapioca pearls and creamy, rich yet subtle flavor of the pudding made up a fluffy, texture forward base with the most decadent salted caramel syrup coating the top layer. Even with four delicate spoons, our bursting stomachs couldn't finish the entire small pot of this magical dessert. Overall, seriously impressed with the team behind Bar Siena. Truly the complete experience, from comfortable seating, to a relaxing atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious, unique food, this is certainly a fitting addition for the flourishing Hopkins community. read more

The menu is small, but that usually means that what they do make is made well. One thing I was a bit disappointed about was the appetizer selection - all the appetizers seem to heavy considering they will be followed by pasta dishes. Would be nice to see a vegetable forward option. We tried the cavatelli and a springy pasta dish with dill and peas (not on the online menu). Both were delicate, flavorful and enjoyable. Portion sizes are a good size, not too big but could possibly share if you start with appetizers. The tables are a bit too close to each other, but overall a nice place. It was a bumpy start with drinks, they were out of multiple items and do not stray from the menu. It's a small menu for food, we had 8 in our party so decided to order a variety of dishes to pass around. For starters, Lemon beans which were fine and bruschetta that was really good. Pizza, gnocchi, white lasagna and some other stuff for entrees. Surprisingly the white lasagna was most people's favorite. I'd visit again but service was just so slow. This is hands down one of the best meals I have had in a very long time, plus one of the best cocktails I have ever had. The Fiore is a light, lime and gin cocktail with an herb-infused EVOO floating on top. It was so fantastic I got 2! For apps we had the fried mozzarella in a perfect red sauce with the focaccia on the side. The focaccia was crisp and fluffy, filled with veggies. My husband had the gnocchi and I had the cavatelli. We thought they were green beans which may have been our mistake but the description doesn't indicate otherwise. Cold Lima type beans with Parmesan cheese. Would not order again - Mozzarella in Carozza - this is confusing. It's a deep fried mozzarella ball in sauce but comes with nothing to dip in? So we ordered the focaccia bread which was honestly the best appetizer. A bit of heat there with the Giardiniera so warning for those with little spice tolerance - Pizza was great! Thin crust, Neapolitan style. Although be warned you'll be charged extra for red pepper flakes which we all thought was a bit crazy - Pastas - we tried a variety but the cavatelli was by far the best. So much so we ordered another!! Al dente pasta, rich creamy sauce, the Boursin cheese was amazing to top it off (tip - spread it around on the pasta). The Orecchiette was the second favorite. Pappardelle we thought would be a top but was just okay. And none of us liked the Tortelli. Could have just been an off day but was really under cooked and had minimal flavor. It is quite sweet which they warn you of, however, did not deliver for any of us. Service wise - everything was okay here. Our server was nice and informative. Food came out at normal speed and we think was brought by chef / owner which was a very nice touch. We were seated in a corner spot and when the AC kicked on it was freezing to the point we all put our winter coats back on.
