They were a pretty good sized portion and came with a queso dip as well as a mustard dip. They were very yummy! For my main course I went with the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Grits. It was amazing! Plentiful size and I had never had shrimp and grits quite like this! Nashville hot sauce and pickled peppers gave it a unique flavor and a little bit a heat! We had a girls' night out here last week, and what a night it was! There were eight of us, all sporting matching wigs as the self-proclaimed "Karen Klub," so it's safe to say we made quite the spectacle. The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were fantastic, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They were friendly, attentive, and didn't seem to mind that we were having a little extra fun and making plenty of memories (and probably a few people laugh along the way!). Copper & Rye is a restaurant I'd definitely visit again. The decor was really nice--modern, inviting, and classy without feeling overly fancy. We started with the French Onion Fries, which were delicious. The smoked cheese sauce and garlic parmesan butter made them really flavorful, but they were very salty. A little less salt would have made them excellent. Three of us ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich, and it was very good. The prime rib was tender and flavorful. Just know that the jalapeños are actually spicy, so if you don't like heat, you may want to ask for them on the side. Another person in our group had the Bourbon Bacon Burger and finished the whole thing, so I'd say that was a success too. For dessert, I tried the Flan Brûlée. I'm glad I finally got to try one! It was good, but I still prefer the smoother, creamier texture of a traditional crème brûlée. Overall, Copper & Rye has a great atmosphere, good food, and enough unique menu items that I'd happily return to try more. read more

We wanted to try Copper & Rye after seeing so many positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience was pretty disappointing. The biggest issue was the food. Almost everything we ordered lacked flavor and felt under-seasoned. We started with the Swedish Wagyu Meatballs, which were more reminiscent of dry meatloaf than the rich, flavorful meatballs we were expecting. The Tuna Tataki was another miss. There wasn't much tuna, and the quality felt more like previously frozen fish served over a large bed of dry rice with very little sauce to bring the dish together. We ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Bowl thinking that was a pretty easy dish to make. The vegetables were undercooked and still hard and cold in places, and the chicken was simply a plain grilled chicken breast without much flavor of the hot honey. The dish as a whole felt unfinished. Service was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. What stood out most was the price point. For the quality and execution of the food, it felt extremely expensive and didn't deliver the experience we were hoping for. Obviously it is a new restaurant so the ambiance and decor are great but not enough to carry the weight of what is lacking. Overall, we left disappointed. The design of the restaurant is great. Clean and welcoming. Then walking thru between bar and kitchen, two servers are chatting and blocking the way with no intention of moving after noticing us. Walk thru anyways. For initial contact we waited five minutes. Wait staff is not fully aware of the drinks or how they taste, new restaurant so not uncommon Ordered some appetizers, told our waitress one dietary restriction, she says no problem however it comes with it. The problem is I couldn't recognize till I ate some. Waitress checks in and I mentioned so she apologized and 10 minutes later another one came in and same issue!!! Manager came and apologized and offered the comp the whole check, I declined as I came to eat what I like and expecting to pay. She apologized and remove that dish from the bill as well as removed the desert. The reason I'm giving two stars is mainly for the wait staff. Kitchen would get zero. read more

Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Hubby's Hot Pressed Rueben was delicious and grilled perfectly with fresh marbled rye and melty cheese. I ordered the Bulgogi Bowl. It was beautiful and the first few bites with the fried egg and crispy onion straws were amazing! However, the beef was very tough to chew and had a very bold and sweet taste. I usually love sweet, but it was too sweet even for me. Not that I expected authentic Korean flavors here, but it may not be the right flavors for everyone. Back again, for my 4th time! This time, I ordered the Oklahoma Smashburger, and it was one of the best I've had!! I would order it again in a heartbeat and definitely recommend to anyone unsure on what to order. Again, their battered fries that come on the side are just perfect - both the texture and taste. Ordered dessert to finish it off, we ordered the cookie skillet and it was phenomenal. It was perfectly gooey, warm, and rich and the perfect end to our meal here. Copper & Rye feels like the kind of place you'd expect to be wildly overpriced because the decor is SO boujee and the patio setup is gorgeous, but the food/drinks were actually super reasonably priced! Such a fun spot for a summer day or night. Our server was amazing with our group! She was super attentive, so kind, and happily kept refilling my THREE lemonades! Honestly, they were so refreshing on a hot day, I couldn't help myself. Food wise, the burger was decent and they definitely do fun topping combinations, but overall the menu leaned a little more toward cozy comfort/winter-style meals than lighter summer options. One friend said her chicken melt was "the best thing ever," though, so clearly that's a must-order. Another friend was disappointed they don't offer gluten free fries, but I personally LOVED the regular fries. Crispy, salty, and covered with garlic! I grabbed a seat at the bar, and the bartender immediately made me feel welcome. The atmosphere was inviting from the moment I walked in, and you could tell this is a favorite among locals and families. Since it was my first visit, she let me know it was happy hour and recommended the street corn flatbread as a starter. I'm glad she did. It was something I had never tried before, and it was excellent. The crust was perfectly buttered, golden, and crisp, while the toppings were well balanced and not overwhelming. I also ordered the bulgogi bowl. The vegetables were cooked just right, the rice had the perfect texture, and the sauce was flavorful without overpowering the dish. The only thing I would change is the meat, which was a little firmer than the tender texture you would expect from traditional bulgogi. That said, it was still a very good dish, especially for a restaurant that is not Korean. I had the same issue with the marinated half chicken where the "au jus" felt more like thick gravy. The chicken and prime tender medallions were also extremely salty. Super friendly and outgoing we went with all of her recommendations for our mains and told her to surprise us for a shared dessert. What a great spot in Eagan! My husband's family used to live in the apartments next to this spot, and when we were in the area we decided to try it out. The ambiance is incredible, with a beautiful outdoor patio and spacial indoor space with a great bar and tv situation. Would definitely come here for a Bloody Mary and a game! We enjoyed lunch on the Patio - and I loved their Pineapple Ginger mocktail, they even adjusted it to be heavier on the soda than the ginger beer for me! It was sweet and spicy with a great balance. We started with the feta dip which was addicting - I'm still thinking about it! It was spicy, sweet and tangy. My only downside was the bread was too heavily toasted to the point where it was a little hard. I enjoyed the roasted veggie bowl and my husband loved his burger. My husband and I met friends for a happy hour on a Friday afternoon. We were seated on the patio which was perfect (except for the planes taking off from MSP). Their selection of happy hour drinks is acceptable but the food selection is pretty lame. That said, we had the prime rib sliders (one complained that there was too much fat and grissle although that was not our experience the first time we had them). We also had the Ahi tuna (okay but more sauce than tuna. Too much going on), the pretzel (delicious!), the sausage board (also quite yummy), the pepperoni flatbread which was good. Finally, we topped it all off with the maple bacon donuts. OMG! You MUST try these!! Our server was Andy who was appropriately attentive and quite friendly and helpful. We did provide some onsite feedback and added here as well. We were served ice water to start yet refills were pretty warm. Recommend that ice be added to the pitchers for refills. It was a very hot day and ice would have been appreciated. The wine selection is perfect as is the cocktail selection. All were quite tasty! This restaurant is fairly new and will, hopefully, accept positive feedback from customers and adjust accordingly. We look forward to returning to try some entrees! read more

Understanding this is a new business, hopefully they'll learn & improve. The layout & flow of customers relative to the kitchen & bar is horrible. The designer should refund its fee. They failed at every level. Had a reservation for seven (7) after a high school graduation ceremony at TCO stadium. Thousands of people given back to back to back schools. The staff was overwhelmed, poor planning. The host tried to stuff us into a booth for four. Had to get a manager involved to resolve. Drink order #1 was OK and took several trips for our party to get their order. Again, a staffing issue. Appetizer order took forever and came out in phases, guessing the kitchen couldn't get two simple dishes to the pass simultaneously. Entree's took three separate trips and had we not directed each dish to the correct person in our party, the server had no clue who ordered what. Second round of beverages found a spritzer missing the mint. Minor, but a miss. Smash burgers of various kinds were the majority of our tables order. Not smash burgers, rather gray patties that are par cooked, cupping and covered with whatever specialty, cheese, sauce etc. Each was overly salted, undercooked & not a fresh smashed burger patti. Greasy, flavorless patties on soggy buns. Butter burgers at Culver's are far superior to what we were served yesterday. Cooks should taste what they're sending out as a penalty for poor performance. Seasoned battered fries were overly seasoned & greasy, dead on delivery to the table. A plain flatbread cheese pizza was served without a marinara sauce. Think cheese bread and poorly baked crust was inedible. Prime rib sandwich was more like Steakums, a bit rubbery and hidden under cheese sauce (think ballpark nachos), too many greens and "stuff". Again it's a newer spot but it's clear they were unprepared, poorly trained, lack quality control and physically working in a poorly laid out bar/restaurant. read more

Been in business for a total of 6 days. The vibe is super cool. Love the bar. Food was great except needs some refinement. I hate full wings. Too hard to eat. You need to cut them up. And the donuts need more sweetness. I had the tuna appetizer but didn't like the squash in it. Bar service was SLOW! Took forever to get a drink and needed more bussing on the tables. I also thought the wine pour was a bit stingy for the price. We will definitely go again and hope it keeps getting better. Can't wait to try the patio! read more

Service was great for how busy they were (dinner hour). We'd made a reservation via the website for the patio, only to be told that reservations are not taken for the patio and we could have the available table inside. The restaurant itself is spacious, though really loud. I had a house cab - Mondavi (at the happy hour price) which is a good, standard. Ordered battered cheese curds (excellent choice that I was outvoted on), and whipped feta which was also really good. I was the only one disappointed by my entree selection, which was recommended by the server. I don't recommend the Prime Tender Medallions w/potato mash and brocolli. It was the most expensive entree and the meat (ordered rare) was tough and bland, as were the potato mash and broccoli. The chimichurri served atop the meat was mint heavy and needed acid (I'd gladly share my recipe). Everyone else loved their choices: Wagyu Truffle Ravioli, Bulgogi Bowl, and the Lobster Queso Burger. They gifted our daughter her choice of birthday dessert, a Flan Brûlée which we all shared. It was delicious. Overall a great experience. But don't order the Medallions! read more
