    A magnificent view

I must say, Boathouse Saranac Lake Pub did not disappoint! We entered and were immediately greeted, shown to the bar, where we wished to imbibe a pre-dinner potable. Kathy ordered the strawberry Moscow Mule; I, the unfiltered amber. Both arrived promptly and both (but especially the Mule) were delicious. We were eventually seated outside with an incredible view of the lake. The sun was out, then it wasn't, then it was, then it wasn't, so our waitress took it upon herself to ask if we would like blankets with which to wrap ourselves (for warmth). Restaurant-style vertical heaters were also lighted while we sat. I had a blueberry Mule while on the patio. This, too, was delicious, although I would recommend the strawberry over the blue. The salmon with farro (and other common salmon-related accoutrements) was quite possibly one of the best salmon dishes I have ever had. More specifically, the salmon was accompanied to the ball by five escorts: Farro, Tomato, Olive, Feta, and Carrot Puree. The autumnal semi-sweetness of the puree complemented the salty olive and feta in a quite creative way, making this a playful but mysterious little dish. The quarter chicken, too, got very good reviews. Finally, the cheesecake was both cheesy and cakey (albeit not quite as thick and hearty as you would get in the New York City limits). All-told, dinner was a little over $100. Don't miss: the flavored Moscow Mules! Pro Tip: (also a "don't miss"): don't be afraid to ask for a blanket when the cool evening breeze comes in off of the water.

Showed up at 8:30pm Monday night (Memorial Day) (They close at 9pm) Welcomed us in no problem!! We ordered 2 beers, a cocktail, margarita flatbread, and a salad. $70.20 (not including tip) Swrbice was absolutely fabulous!! Great food. Great cocktail and beer! Plenty of seating inside. It was dark so I'm not sure about outside. Would return.

Everything we had was great: Burger, Mac N Cheese, Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Caesar, Fries, and Calamari Very impressed, especially after making the mistake and going to "Tail of the Pup" (never again)

Came here with the bf because we stayed at the Saranac Waterfront Lodge. We dined in during dinner and there was very little people, so we felt comfortable. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich, a veal hotdog and arancini. The food itself was decent, but nothing special. I felt that the food could have used a lot more flavor and spices, which would have made it a lot better. I did like how the fried chicken wasn't greasy though, and it tasted crispy, healthy and light. We also had breakfast delivered to our room the following morning and it was pretty good. We got the smoked salmon toast and an avocado toast with bacon on top. They were pretty big in portion which I was surprised -- I was definitely full. In all, I did find the foods overpriced. It wasn't bad but it could have been better. This establishment is fairly new so I'm sure it will improve a lot more in the future.

The view was beautiful during peak leaf peeping last weekend! It really doesn't get any better. The food was great, cocktails were creative, festive and delicious. The service was wonderful. Highly recommend! They take reservations!

During our annual fall ADK family trip, we stopped here for the Brunch, view and seating are great, picked the perfect day to come! For the food, I had the best pancake ever, it has walnut and mushroom piece and taste delicious! We also had omelette, avocado toast, tofu scrambled, and flat bread to share, all are very good. Service is excellent! Great place to eat and relax with friends and family!

Came for Sunday Brunch but was told there is no brunch. The wait even with hardly anyone here is long. And the food is not great. My eggs were cold. My oldest daughter got pancakes and youngest got a sandwich...my son got French toast. This place is convenient since we are staying at hotel but the food is not reflective of the price.

This was such an unexpected treat!…read more Walking around Lake Placid, we bumped into a couple who wound up suggesting a couple of restaurants for us to check out. Cavu was at the top of their list! And with their description of planes taking off and landing nearby, we thought it would be the perfect spot to bring our toddler. To access the restaurant, you have to walk into the airport. I've never been in such a tiny airport before! The cafe space overlooks the tarmac, but we were a little bummed that we only saw one plane takeoff while we were eating. We aren't locals and assumed there would be more! But that wasn't an issue. Plus, once my toddler started to get fussy, the staff whipped out a coloring book and some crayons. It was so so kind of them and nice that they were prepared. The food was excellent as well. My husband got the hash and eggs and was very pleased with the big hunks of corned beef throughout the hash. I tried his homefries and they were also delicious! I got the apple stuffed french toast to share with my toddler. It was perfect. We also got a side of maple cream, which I still dream of. Will definitely come back on our next trip to the area.

My dinner experience there certainly lived up to expectations. The restaurant is small, seating maybe about 30 people. I wouldn't call it intimate, but I would call it friendly. The menu items are enjoyably named, with some interesting ingredient and flavor combinations. Service is fast and friendly; 3 servers can take care of all the tables quite nicely, with time for fun conversation as you go. The cocktail list is small, and the drinks are simply garnished, but everything we tried was quite flavorful and reasonably priced. As an appetizer, the Moo Moo Dippers, filled with shaved ribeye and corned beef and combined with the remoulade sauce for dipping. were addicting. My salmon filet came atop a bed of roasted sweet potato and corn hash and a sauce on top to give it more interesting presentation and flavor. The pork medallions were similarly appealing. We passed on dessert, because most of the offerings had some form of caffeine in them (e.g., boozy affogato), but I'm certain they would have been equally delicious. I was surprised the restaurant closed so early on days they're actually open, i.e., 8pm. So if you want convenient dining, get there early for dinner, because it does fill up.

The restaurant wasn't crowded, but there were enough guests to give it a nice atmosphere. It felt comfortable, relaxed, and not noisy at all. We started with the Kung Pao Cauliflower, which was excellent. Even my kids, who don't usually enjoy vegetables, ate every bite. For their meals, both kids ordered brick oven pizzas. My older child had the Labrador and finished the entire pizza by himself, while my younger child ordered the Authentic with pepperoni and really enjoyed it. My wife ordered the fish of the day, and I chose the scallop special. Overall, the food was very good, the service was pleasant, and the waterfront setting made for an enjoyable dining experience. All of the staff we interacted with were great and friendly. Our family from this area raved about their poutine, but a recent menu change got rid of it. Despite that they had a variety of starters/apps, sandwiches, pizzas, steaks, plus other entrees including some specials on a separate little menu. Included on that was two cocktails that we tried, I had two of their Strawberry Rhubarb Collins that was light and easy to drink with just enough strawberry and rhubarb flavor. My wife had their special sangria which had tons of flavor. Both fantastic drinks! As a group we split some pretzel sticks as well as some bang bang shrimp. With both being great bites before our meals with the beer cheese and mustard for the pretzels along with the shrimp sweet chili aioli being perfect dips. Lastly for the main event my wife and I were on the same wavelength and got their Vodka Chicken Parm, that originally was to come on top rice pilaf but both substituted for house made pasta. Everything from the vodka sauce, to the house made pasta, to the chicken were fantastic! Would gladly get it again. If we lived around here I would picture this being a regular stop for us! Friendly and welcoming staff with well made drinks and delicious food! Give it a try!
