Cute spot with ample indoor seating. Staff was really kind helping the newbies navigate the menu. We got a variety of items (pictured). I really liked the bowl. The toppings were all really fresh, filling, and full of flavor. There is meter street parking and if you walk a few blocks you might find some free street parking.

I've only been here twice I figured I would grab some lunch since I was near by and it was definitely satisfying because it's a lot different then grabbing a quick bite to eat say from a fast food spot I like that the flavor you can individually taste a lot of places seem to have almost one flavor as your eating so that's a plus it is very good the food was great and it wasn't very busy a few people dinning in but not noisy or loud so that's good and the girl that took my order was awesome very polite and helpful with the menu will definitely be back again. Highly recommend this spot.

The BEST falafel I've ever had, hands down. A date night centered around being close to Mitchell's turned into a night full of flavor and freshness! We decided to try somewhere new, saw Boaz and decided to give them a shot, and we are SO HAPPY we did! The food was fresh, nutritious and easy to order. They have everything VERY clearly marked with allergens, which is a huge deal for us since my fiancé has a dairy allergy. The space itself felt inviting with lots of wood and a modern take on some retro-feeling patterns. Usually I'm not a fan of yellow, but this place really made it work! The staff was kind, energetic, accommodating and knowledgeable, helping us decipher what would best options were. The food came out quick and did not disappoint! The entire experience was a masterclass in doing things simple and doing those simple things well. Can't leave here without mentioning that STELLAR falafel again. 11/10 will be back. Wish I could give more stars.

In my search for a quick lunch, I came across Boaz near the Westside market. Interior was very clean and yellow, which I enjoyed. I was greeted by the cashier and he gave a quick run down of how things worked. Basically, you can order entrees or build your own bowl. I opted for a build your own and got grilled chicken, brown rice, baba ganoush, along with various toppings. I also got za'atar fries because again, french fries are a weakness. The bowl came out very colorful and well presented. Taste was great and I would say they were very clean. Flavors came out pronounced and not overly spiced or anything. The za'atar pita chips were def my favorite topping to add a bit of textural contrast and some pops of flavor. The fries themselves were also good and went well with the garlic sauce. Again, just a great build your own Lebanese bowl. I was able to share my meal with my partner and we both came away full!

Our family enjoyed a tasty dinner at Boaz Cafe in July 2023 during our 3-night stay in Cleveland. This location has a casual yet hip ambiance - but is very informal. You order what you wish to eat the front register, serve yourself drinks and and then choose a seat. The dishes will come to your table after 5-10 minutes. We enjoyed the spiced cauliflower (recommended appetizer) and had a mix of sandwiches (chicken shawarma) and a salad (beef tenderloin). Overall, it was satisfying and casual - but it felt a bit pricey (most restaurants seem to have raised their prices in 2022 and 2023 due to price inflation). The only blemish was that street parking can be challenging to find during peak times. We got lucky and found street parking about a block away. There's also a paid surface parking lot nearby if it's very crowded. I would come here again on our next trip to Cleveland's Ohio City district.

Want to have great Lebanese food with a choose your own adventure style a la Subway or Chipotle? Go no further than the doors of Boaz. You can create your own bowls or choose from their rolls or wraps. Their appetizers are fresh and delicious. The smoothies are refreshing and energizing. You can get an energy juice if that's more your speed. The bright, open atmosphere is conducive to relaxing and just enjoying the amazing, fresh food and the people are so helpful and attentive. They will bend over backwards to make sure you have the best time possible. I just wish they would expand their children's offerings as I have one VERY picky eater. Anytime I am at the Westside Market, I make it a point to stop in. You should, too!

So delicious! My husband kept recommending this place and I'm glad I went. Think of fresh healthy brassica meets chipotle style efficiency. The food is less seasoned than brassica but still so tasty. I actually like it a little better because it isn't as heavy. The owner and family who works there are also so polite and kind. Service is a big part of food industry and I would go just to support their business because they were so nice. The restaurant is very clean and you get a view into the cleanliness of the kitchen which is relieving. Highly recommend! The bowl portions are great for a meal without leaving you overly full (I got half leafy greens and half lentils and brown rice). Will be coming back to try their sides and other dishes!

Let's start off with the shining star - I will say it ahead of everything else - this is hands-down THE BEST FALAFEL I have ever had. If you are eh on falafel and have only ever had mid falafel - you HAVE to come here, it was crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside - and not dry at all - it had the perfect texture on the inside - and the flavor was really great - especially paired with the other fresh flavors. This place serves REAL whole food. I'm not a huge fan of grape leaves but my boyfriend loves them and I will say - they are great as well - they had a bit of a tangy-pickle-y taste and had more flavor than other ones I've had before. The pita had a great texture. Overall, the entire food experience was SO top-notch, and fresh, and just straight up quality. 10/10. Service was great, you order at the front by the register and then they bring your food to you. We were helped by two very kind young women, when we complimented them on how great the falafel was, one of them said her mom made them. :) The restaurant seemed extremely clean and well kept as well, I didn't really notice a spot of anything anywhere. Pertaining to my dairy allergy, they were very accommodating and I experienced no bad reaction from eating there. For other dietary restrictions, items are clearly noted on the menu as "Contains Dairy" or "VG" or "Contains gluten" as well as "Contains peanut oil" so very clear labeling and I'm sure if you had other dietary restrictions and wanted to be sure you can always ask and they will help you. Also a note that the interior decorating was very yellow, which I don't see very often but worked really well here. A fun, bright interior. It worked well with the other brown tones on the wall and whatever kind of wood the tables were made of. This surely seems like THE place to become a regular at. I am sure I will be returning, time and time again. I wish I could give 6 stars because this place was just outstanding for me.

This place is solid! It's like a Lebanese chipotle, but so much better, where you can build your own bowl with delicious Mediterranean ingredients and flavors. Everything tastes super fresh and light, so if you have a sensitive stomach like my fiancé you'll leave here happy. We each got a build-your-own bowl and both really liked it. Again, the flavors were great on both of them, and you can customize them to your heart's desire. My lone complaint is the locale. The entrance is so confusing!! There's floor to ceiling glass and the staff laughed at us (in a friendly way!) after we finally figured out how to get in. They said this happens all the time. The staff was absolutely lovely and helpful, seeing that we were able to maneuver our way through the menu given that it was clearly our first time there. Overall great experience, would definitely recommend!

I finally visited Boaz Lebanese Cafe with a friend sometime in late 2021; although, I've actually tried their food before at a private event in the Gordon Green building. I really enjoyed what I had for lunch at that private event (some chicken salad) so I was excited to stop in to their physical space to try something new. Unfortunately, what I ordered was not great. INSIDE -- The atmosphere is nice and has a cafe feeling. FOOD -- I ordered a bowl that had chicken and hummus in it but what I didn't know is that the hummus came overflowing in the bowl. Normally, hummus would come on the side but this time, the small pieces of chicken were almost swimming in the hummus. It was a large bowl filled with hummus. My lunch was just very hard to eat and it didn't taste great. I wish they would have told me that the hummus came inside the whole bowl. The chicken cubes were also not flavoured well. My lunch came with pita bread which wasn't fresh and was hard rather than soft. DRINKS -- They have soft drinks (soda/pop) and smoothies. I ordered some green juice but it didn't taste great. I can't remember the exact drink that I had which goes to show that it wasn't memorable. My rating was going to be a 3 but I honestly couldn't even eat my lunch so a 2/5 rating must suffice. Love Lebanese food. I had a bowl with lentils and rice. Grilled Chicken. Pickled parsnips. Shredded carrot. Diced tomatoes. Banana peppers. Baba Ghanoush was spiced to perfection. I had an oily sauce and a hot sauce. Authentic. Clean seating area.

I had a rather large breakfast yesterday, so I just finished my leftovers today. Still tasted great the second day. Everyone on the menu was clearly labeled gluten free. A comparable spot would be Aladdins. The lebanese spices mixed with the vegetables and grilled chicken had a tawook feel and feel to it. I ordered the strawberry blast smoothie as well with it. Excellent blend of strawberries, pineapple and banana and was phenomenal. The food was kindly brought out to us. It didn't take that long after ordering. The restaurant didn't have much decor in it, it could have used more to brighten it up a bit. Overall, pretty good.

I ended up grabbing a late lunch here with a friend after the original spot we planned on was closed. I'd never been before, but I was pleasantly surprised. My friend is a vegetarian, and she was satisfied with the options she had. I had a lamb wrap and a tropical fruit smoothie, both delicious. Ordering was simple and straightforward and they brought us our food after we had found a table. The portions were a great size, and the food was yummy. It was pretty quiet when I was there, so it's perfect for catching up. I'm definitely planning on making a return visit and getting something else off the menu. You can never have too much Mediterranean food! read more

We came here on my fiance's request, and were definitely extremely pleased and will be returning. This was described to me as "Mediterranean Chipotle" and I feel this is pretty accurate. Definitely gave every feel of a Chipotle, but with a Mediterranean vibe. The staff was very friendly, and made ordering comfortable. Both of us chose to go with the build your own option, a pita for me and a bowl for her. There were lots of tasty options to include on your order including hummus, baba (still not sure what it is), radishes, and carrots are just a few. The chicken was very tasty and I'm looking forward to trying the beef shawarma next time. If you are not a fan of make your own or don't do well with many options, there are also several preset orders of freshly made pitas. We also had a side of tabouli, my fiance's choice, which was a new experience for me, and I'd be open to having again. The prices for pitas here are very reasonable, and the serving sizes are generous. I would be interested to try a smoothie next time I come here. Definitely a place we will be returning again to get some good food at a good price. read more

I am obsessed. I get a bowl with lentil and a meat and then fill up on all the great Fixin's. Then I take it home and put it over leafy greens or kale and end up with two big salads for the week. They have so many very good items. The baba is amazing. Try the spicy cauliflower. My only complaint is that their tongs are very small. So I have to ask for two or three x extra Of the things I really like & want to actually taste...Such as tabouli or pickles. JUST GIVE IT TO ME. read more

My new favorite lunch spot! Go in and grab yourself a pita bowl, and prepare to be amazed: great selection of fillings. My favorite is the lentils, chicken, baba, and cilantro mango dressing. Get it with some pita and it'll only put you back $7. I feel like this is a healthy lunch option, but I could totally be wrong... either way, it's a healthier lunch option than Chipotle, so it wins in my book. read more

The food here is good, however the experience with the staff is inconsistent. The first time I went here, I wanted to order the build your own bowl with falafel because I don't eat meat. I was told by the person at the counter that they could do that even though it wasn't on the menu. When I went back today, I was told that the person who had let me do it before was the owner or manager and he was just being nice, they can't actually do that. Annoying! Suggestion - either empower your employees to make the same decisions as the owner/manager can, or don't allow any wiggle room at all. Otherwise, the experience is frustrating and ultimately, customers like myself won't return. read more

I love Middle Eastern food. This place is good. I like that they offer freshly made veggie juices! Yet ... 4 stars cuz, 'I know what you did.' I usually get the build your own - on pita bread. I had noticed when I frequented Boaz in the past, that the build your own in the biodegradable (?) bowls appeared to have large amounts of food; enough to take home perhaps. People remarked on that fact on Yelp. Well, Boaz has remedied that. I went in a few days ago to order my first (like a virgin - but not) bowl. The bowls are now different and appear smaller. Of course, I made mention of that fact to the cashier and she gave the 'corporate' response of no, it is the same. Listen, per corporate response, people [who] were complaining about the biodegradable bowls leaking, shoulda just put their overabundance of food in a water-proof container at home. Because of them, now I have no healthy snack for later, should I continue to give Boaz my bizness.‍ As one reviewer stated here, the portions are small(er) now. The builder of my "smaller" bowl - was let's say, quite economical (for them) with my building food choices. Unless, you speak up nicely stating "a little more please" - but geez. Who wants to coerce 'a builder of bowls' for an additional pat/spoonful - in front of a line of customers - puh-leeze? (See how it pays to know your history? Newcomers/Foodies to Boaz eager & starred-eyed have no idea of the former 'bowl abundance'). (Note how I extrapolated the (holistic) importance of history to a biodegradable serving bowl? Yes! I have a lot of free time).‍ All in all, the food is fresh & delicious. The surrounds are trendy. Boaz cleans up your table mess, so you do not. I also like their fries with the Zaatar seasoning, which is equally good. Yet, I am back to visiting my other ME food places; as I would anyway. Boaz is still on my radar for their fresh veggie juices on the days that my dude at the Juice stand@WSM is not there due to closure. Okayyyy... maybe an occasional "coerced" build your own pita. I moved to Ohio City a year ago and Boaz quickly became one of my favorite spots. At the time for 8$ you could get a bowl of food that filled you up and gave you a taste of everything they had to offer. About 6 months ago they switched their bowl model into a "pick some of this and some of that" without being able to get all the sides should you want to. I went in today to find they now charge you a 2$ up charge for protein in your bowl. Now what used to be 8$ is almost 13 with tax and tip. Food is still great, but I'll be coming here far less than I used to with these nickel and dime tactics. read more

Great fast casual establishment. We got a build your own bowl and an order of fries. Everything in the bowl was fresh and very good quality. The quality of chicken can be a hit or miss in fast casual places. I found the chicken quality to be excellent, I just wish there would have been alittle more. The location is great, right in Ohio City and a short walk from the West Side Market. Vibe inside is hip and fun. This is definitely a place I will return to. Excellent Value! read more

Its like a chipotle for Medeterranean food. I wasnt overly impressed by the food however Ive noticed i dont really like that style of food in general. FOR ME, it was bland and rushed. The staff were very "hurry up and buy". You go in, choose pita or bowl and fill it accordingly. Not really WOW in my eyes. Also i heard they have since raised prices from when they first opened which to me screams price gauge but hey im not the feds. read more

This really is what food should be. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted pleasantly before I reviewed the menu. I opted for the Mean Green Juice and the build your own bowl. I had greens, lentils and brown rice as a base. I chose a variety of vegetables and hummus to top it off. This was soooo good! And the juice was freshly made and delicious as well. I can't believe it was only 2.50! Other places charge two or three times as much for fresh juice. I hope this place continues to serve great food at these super affordable prices. read more

Boaz is hands down one of the cheapest, healthiest restaurants in OC. Another family owned business with a great vibe. The bowls are a steal for $7. I eat here about twice a week and I can say that every single bite has been delicious and fresh. The workers are happy and playful. I hope they stick around for a long time :-) read more

One of my favorite lunch spots. Salad bar style ordering helps make your bowl just the way you like it. They have wraps and other things on menu, but i have always stuck with the bowls and the spicy cauliflower. Even if you don't like cauliflower - you should try it! Its an explosion in your mouth. read more

This place was great! As a resident of Brooklyn, and lover of Mediterranean food, I'm surprised I haven't gone here sooner! What was I doing with my life... Things ordered: baba, grape leaves, french fries, spicy cauliflower, kale quinoa tabouli. Overall, 10 out of 10!! I would order all those items again, and probably will. I must go back and do the build-your-own-pita-or-bowl. And for the soup. And for the fresh squeezed juice. And maybe a smoothie too. OK I yes I'm going back for everything. read more

I'm new to Cleveland and ordered from here through yelp which I guess is fulfilled through Grubhub. The app said my order was almost ready so went in to get it and this super rude lady behind the counter goes "wouldn't it be cheaper for you to order through our website anyways, grubhub has been down for a week, that's them calling now." Boaz Cafe is a great addition to Ohio City. Finally made it there for lunch on a Thursday. It was nearly full but there was no line at the counter where you place your order. The menu is packed with Lebanese/middle eastern favorites like falafel, kibbie, hummus and shawarma. They also have an option for a "build your own pita or bowl" for $6 (unbelievably cheap for what you get, if you ask me). The "build your own" option offers a pita pocket or salad as a base with a choice of chicken or beef shawarma and 12-15 other toppings (plus dressing) all put together in front of you. It is similar to Aladdins but with extremely tasty, flavorful food and really friendly staff (sorry Aladdins). I ordered a build you own bowl with lettuce, rice and lentils, chicken, hummus and bunch of other toppings. Each item tasted very fresh (especially the lentils, chicken and hummus) and the house Boaz dressing made with lemon/olive oil/sumac rounded out the plate. Wife had the falafel salad off the menu. The falafel was was crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside and packed with great flavor. We didn't try them but friends have told me that their fresh pressed juice (only $2 !!!!!) is the bomb. I'll definitely get some next time. Congrats Boaz... you've earned a couple of repeat customers! read more

Ohio City needed this place. Price point is perfect. The owner from Aladdin's Eatery aced it. Smoothie + lentil soup + shawarma = just over $10. Also functions as a build your own bowl/pits place with delicious ingredients. Place is a no brainer and has a nice clean layout. As an Ohio City resident - I'll be passing along the word. Like I said, OHC needed somewhere with this price point + vibe. Boaz hit a home run. Only negative was that Creed - Arms Wide Open came on during my meal. Yes, I sang along. read more

Boaz Cafe is fantastic! I absolutely love Middle Eastern food, so I couldn't wait to try this place. Everything is so fresh, and delicious, and inexpensive! Their falafels are so good... they might even be my favorites now! Eating them on hummus, and covered with hot sauce, was just heavenly. The spicy cauliflower was also very good! My friend ordered the build-your-own bowl, which also looked seriously great. I actually had a brief moment of jealously... until I remembered my own spicy hummus covered falafels of joy. I realize I'm one of the few non-Clevelanders to review this place but I'll give it a shot. I came in as an Ohio City noob - I'd never been to the area or tried any of its food. We had heard about Boaz and decided to come in. The place was really clean and nice. The food was all really tasty and fresh. The people I was with tried the build your own, but I got the tawook pita, which was excellent. It was definitely a comfortable setting, with very tall ceilings, and huge windows facing the street, excellent for some solid people-watching. And lunch for 3 including a side dish was $25. Would totally come back here next time I'm in the area. read more

Whelp, I've been to Boaz 3 times since discovering it last week...so to say that I'm a fan, might be understating my fandom. I'm not sure why the juices and smoothies are priced at $2-2.50, but I hope these prices stick! The make-your-own bowl has been my go-to, but I aspire to branch out at some point. We actually ate at the new location in University Hts. They are having a soft opening. The staff was bending over backwards to be accommodating. Service was quick and pleasant. The food is tasty with lower prices than Alladin's but also smaller portions. The decor is bright and airy with Arabic symbolism mixed in with the graphics. read more

I love that this place opened up right down the street from me! Their create your own bowls are the perfect meal to pick up for lunch and they have so many options of additions - it's like the Chipotle of healthy Mediterranean food! This place reminds me of a Mediterranean Chipotle. You go through a line pick your meat toppings etc. I was nervous as I was just picking as I went with no real plan of what would taste good together. The staff was helpful and described each item and how it worked. The flavors were good and tasted fresh. Only thing I would like a little more meat and felt I had way more other toppings then the meat. I'm sure you could ask for double meat and it would be even better. Delicious! The grape leaves and spicy cauliflower are my favorite menu items. It seriously everything is great! As for the food, the mujadara was pretty yummy! I enjoyed the fried onions on top, though they were pretty limp and soggy by the time I could eat it. The lentils were a bit on the hard side, and the side of pickled turnips I ordered was pretty small but added to the meal. I did really enjoy the pillowy pita that was included, and the sumac olive oil dip was pretty good as well.
