I was really looking forward to trying this place based on previous reviews but was really disappointed. The service was terrible for starters. Both my husband and I had to ask twice for him to get a cup of coffee. The omelet was supposed to have green chili and I didn't see or taste any and it had refried beans which weren't mentioned and I certainly didn't order because I don't like them. We love our breakfast food at all times of the day, and this little cafe was able to meet our needs on a Sunday morning at around 11am. They serve breakfast on Sundays until noon...yay! Great stop during travel or when you stay close by for just craving something simple but comforting diner food. We got chicken fried steak breakfast plate, dollar buttermilk pancakes w/ sausage patties and hashbrowns, and corned beef hash with wheat toast. The whole family enjoyed it and no complaints at all except the waitress brought scambled eggs instead of sunny side up for my daughter's plate. Great breakfast joint, it looked like a place where the locals eat and it is. The green chili was awesome. My Mom liked the pancakes and ate almost all of hers, which is rare. I had bacon and eggs with some green chili. I like little hole in the wall joints like this tucked away in a small neighberhood. read more

In no way a fancy eatery, but just a good, solid, quick way to fill your belly. My hubby had the very delicious Mexican biscuit (green chili pork sauce with cheese smothering a nice biscuit and hash browns on the side) and I had Grandmas French toast which was just fine. Honestly I had higher hopes for this place. We're just traveling through Colorado, and decided to stop here for a quick bite to eat. Our server just seemed bothered by our presence at the restaurant, and that was kind of off putting. We waited over an hour for our food, watched people get their food before us, when they showed up after us, and I'm pretty sure the servers were bringing food to their "regulars" before anyone else. I've worked in food service for a long time, and I've never done that. It just made us feel like they didn't want us in there. When the food finally arrived, mine was almost cold, I only ordered scrambled eggs and a pancake. My mom had a burger that looked kind of burnt, and super greasy. Even the outside of the bun was covered in grease. Her fries were also slippery because of how greasy they were. It's understandable with the fries, but the entire burger was covered. Maybe we showed up on an off day, but I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a quick bite. read more

we drove from raton to have lunch here...heard it was GREAT..we arrived at 1:58pm. when we walked in, a waitress nearly jumped us saying very loudly that they were CLOSED. the parking lot and entry were crowded - many people were still eating. now, i understand we weren't aware they closed at 2:00pm...but they were RUDE. IF IT WAS MY PLACE, I WOULD HV SERVED US. I WLD HV BEEN OKAY WITH TAKE-OUT...WE WILL NOT GO BACK - so they lost customers. when we find a good place, we will keep going. and we will tell people about this if the subject comes up. I AM DISAPPOINTED - but there are so many restaurants and small towns we plan to visit, im sure we will find a place with friendly staff and an owner that believes in "the customer is always right!!". read more

This restaurant is always either a hit or miss with me but when it's a hit its pretty damn good. Breakfast hours can get busy but it makes sense because Trinidad has very limited options for breakfast but the couple of times I have went their breakfast just didn't do it for me. Biscuits and gravy were blehh and breakfast burrito with red chili was just ok.. seemed like most of the ingredients were can/packet. However, their lunch/dinner menu has been very solid. Love the Sante Fe Trail burger and fresh cut fries also the club sandwich is great. If you are in Trinidad and want some down home style food give Bob and Earl's a try. read more

I ordered the smothered burrito one morning, after it being recommended by a co worker. It was absolutely delicious! I had mine smothered with green chilli. Next time I will order it with red and green chilli. The blueberry pie was also good. Very friendly service and the order came out quick! I will definitely go again real soon! read more

Stopped in on our way to Buena Vista. Every year we struggle to find a place to stop for breakfast, and this year we decided to leave Raton, drive the 30 min to Trinidad and eat at Bob and Earls. Classic breakfast and diner spot. Efficient staff and a solid breakfast. Everyone in our party of 7 was content. We are marking this as our new spot to go for breakfast on our yearly trip. read more

Ate here several months ago for a business breakfast. The food had a lemony chemical taste. Maybe eat later in the day after the grill has been cleaned or you might get a funny taste. Better yet ask when the grill was cleaned last. read more

Looks pretty divey on the outside, and the interior isn't much better. However, my loaded breakfast burrito was great, and smothered with tasty green chili. My son loved his slopper (that's a regional term for a burger smothered in red or green chili), although they called it something else. However, I can only give it three stars because of the appearance, lack of soap in the men's room, and because our server just exhibited minimal politeness and never asked how our food was. However, the other server who cashiered us asked how we liked it and was friendly. Still, I'd go back if wanting to eat in Trinidad while driving through, even though it's a bit out of the way. read more

I recently stopped by and had some blueberry pancakes, sausage and some OJ. The reviews had me expecting a pretty amazing experience. I'm not sure what all the rave reviews are about. The food was pretty standard breakfast food; the service was average; the OJ came in a can; the meal was reasonably priced. All of this to say, it was an A-OK meal, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. read more

This place is real local cafe dining. The ambience is local and it is on the beginning of Highway 12, so if you are doing the scenic drive, then it is good to stop in here for some burgers or for some chili. The food can be good or it can be average. I have had hit and miss encounters here. The owners are friendly and it is easy to sit at the counter, order a coffee and just get a plate of food. read more
