Chicken N Noodles

My experience here was great. They've clearly stepped up their game in Breezewood, as I had some poor take-out experiences in the 2010s traveling back and forth from NJ to OH. Lightning fast, friendly, attentive service from our waitress, Raven. The food was tasty and above the quality at most other Bob Evans, including the old standby, the Chicken 'N' Noodles, and the new Steakhouse Salad I had. We were offered drinks to go (always helpful for the Turnpike trek home), and the General Store that they have here was very well stocked - great items for gifts, souvenirs, etc. I don't know what more you could want for a nice place to get a meal while traveling.

Located in Breezewood before entrance of PA Turnpike. Food was good. I ordered a burger and fries. Burger tasted better than it looked. Waitress was courteous and kept our drinks filled. Restaurant was clean and well kept. Many tables and Spence between tables and customers was good. Good place to eat before traveling on the turnpike.

Reliable stopping place for wayfarers. They serve breakfast all the time, which makes for a vegetarian option. Our server was very welcoming and helpful. Our food arrived quickly. There's lots of comfortable seating. Although I'm not a fan of chains, this is a safe bet for travelers in a sea of fast food joints.

While I was half way through an early morning drive which was several hours long, I stopped in here for a quick breakfast and cup of coffee.  I had never been to a Bob Evans like this, as this one has a full store in the front, similar to a Cracker Barrel.  When I went in, there were two girls standing at the cash register and no one at the podium where the hostess would be, so I walked up to them and asked if I could be seated.  One girl, the cashier was very rude and pointed to the podium, telling me to go stand there and she then walked out from behind the cashier and took me from the podium... Very odd behavior. Once I was seated, Kenzie was my server and she was GREAT!  She was very friendly, helpful and quick.  I ordered their Country Biscuit Breakfast and it came out piping hot and fresh within 5 minutes or so and it looked excellent!  It tasted GREAT too!! The restroom was mostly clean, just had a nasty smell to it.  The place is rather dated, but I did see a "30 year anniversary" sign on the wall, which they apparently recently celebrated. In all, I was in and out within 20 minutes from when I got there, so I definitely appreciated them being quick to help out!  Again, Kenzie's great service deserves special notice, because if it wasn't for her, I would be giving 2 stars instead of 4.

They had soft country music playing and country decorations on the walls. Very pleasant atmosphere. I got a loaded baked potato and a grilled chicken salad. The baked orator was one of the best I've ever had. Cooked perfectly and had plenty of melted cheese and bacon bits on it. The salad was BIG. My Mom had fried steak dinner. It came with mashed potato's, plenty of gravy and a side salad. Nice size serving of meat and she ate the whole thing so I know she loved it. We got dessert too. All the desserts are home made. I got strawberry pie (tons of strawberries) and Mom had some sort of Angel food cake with a pineapple whipped cream sauce all over it. Yum. Our server was super nice and the service was good. She came and checked on us multiple times. Very pleasant lady.

This five-star review doesn't come because this side of the country isn't saddled with many replete restaurant choices. But because the food is cooked fresh and the wait isn't normally too long. Just think classic, American diner food, but cooked better. The last time, my roasted beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and beef gravy was so hearty and delicious, I ate it all. It can get quite busy sometimes so I would recommend reservations for larger groups. And every time I came here, I left with a box full of sugar cookies from the bakery to take back home to FL to enjoy. There's no better touch-of-home than a homemade sugar cookie with frosting. If you follow my reviews, you know I'm a fan of old-school diners, the classics, and honest home-cooked food. We were absolutely blown away by the quality, portions, flavor profiles, and service in this little gem. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by a super friendly bartender named Matt. He was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. He was always checking up on us and making sure that we were always good. Service was fabulous. There's a timeline of the history of this historic building on the back of the menu. We ordered two drinks. One was an apple cider margarita and the other was a strawberry gin fizz concoction that was amazing. Both of these drinks were delicious. If we weren't driving and staying in the actual hotel above this tavern, we would have tried several other ones on the menu. Lots of creative choices that looked to be tasty based on the mix of ingredients. For the food - the menu was enticing and extensive. Lots of creative things happening here. The app we decided on was the Parmesan crusted Brussels and boy did they not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. We opted for The French Dip with fries and some magical au jus and a Union Smash burger with fries for our meals. Both are highly recommended!!! The burger was served on this delicious cloud of brioche bun and stacked high with two patties (perfectly cooked), pickles, dijonaose, and cheese. The French Dip had the most magnificent crusty roll and tender meat. Then there are these amazing Parmesan parsley fries that are perfectly cooked and served hot! We could have eaten an entire plate of these. To go boxes were needed. Big portions. We couldn't fit dessert! The bill does come with some tasty Andes mints. Prices here are extremely reasonable! I can't stress enough about how absurd it is that this small town has such a hidden treasure of a place where the food is beyond amazing. This place is a full package.
