The food was excellent. Very similar to upscale diner food. This place is a nice country family restaurant. Good to bring a date. They had soft country music playing and country decorations on the walls. Very pleasant atmosphere. I got a loaded baked potato and a grilled chicken salad. The baked orator was one of the best I've ever had. Cooked perfectly and had plenty of melted cheese and bacon bits on it. The salad was BIG. My Mom had fried steak dinner. It came with mashed potato's, plenty of gravy and a side salad. Nice size serving of meat and she ate the whole thing so I know she loved it. We got dessert too. All the desserts are home made. I got strawberry pie (tons of strawberries) and Mom had some sort of Angel food cake with a pineapple whipped cream sauce all over it. Yum. Our server was super nice and the service was good. This quaint, small restaurant nestled in the middle of beautiful farm country PA I've only been to twice. But every time, I've always had great food and even better service. This five-star review doesn't come because this side of the country isn't saddled with many replete restaurant choices. But because the food is cooked fresh and the wait isn't normally too long. Just think classic, American diner food, but cooked better. The last time, my roasted beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and beef gravy was so hearty and delicious, I ate it all. It can get quite busy sometimes so I would recommend reservations for larger groups. And every time I came here, I left with a box full of sugar cookies from the bakery to take back home to FL to enjoy. There's no better touch-of-home than a homemade sugar cookie with frosting. Ok....So....I live several hours away and always look forward to eating here. Folks, this is NOT "fast food"...this is real home cooking at its finest! The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet, the staff treat you like they have been your friend forever...and the food....it does not get any better, I promise. We've been here twice. The food was good both times. Both times our main waitress was very nice. However, both times we experienced rudeness. The first time, the person helping the waitress was rude. We figured it was once, and with the food being good, we'd try again. This time we went in with my 89 year old uncle. It was incredibly cold in there. I was freezing. Literally shaking. As was my great uncle. We asked out waitress if we could have the air adjusted a bit. She agreed to ask. The owner came over and was very condescending in her reply. She replied that when she gets 100 people in there it will be too hot. It wasn't said in a kind way It wasn't busy, there were 10 of us total. I don't see another 90 rushing in that quickly. It would have been fine to say no. But being business like and or friendly would have been an improvement. On that note, she went back to the bar area and made fun of my 89 year old uncle for shivering and telling her he was cold. My father walked over to use the restroom and saw 3 patrons making fun of him (My great uncle). He didn't tell us this until after we left, as he knew I'd say something to the owner. We've spent our last $ here. If you look through my reviews you'll see I have many and I don't believe I've ever left a one. Attitude means so much. read more

WOW! What a find. We just happened to find this place on a Google search since we were going to be in the Bedford Pa area and wanted to have a nice breakfast. The photos on Google maps made it look like a very nice, clean place and they were completely accurate. Breakfast was great! Coffee was freshly ground. The manager talked with us for a while and we really liked her. Altogether a great experience and we'll definitely go back when we are in that area again. read more

This place is a hidden treasure. The service is OUTSTANDING. The food was EXCELLENT. The mac n' cheese is homemade and is creamy goodness. The "all you can eat" shrimp is such a full platter that just one plate will do it. The fries are crisp and hot. The burgers are HUGE and so juicy good. Great! I had the All American Burger with "straight" Fries and my wife had the Roast Beef and Gravy with Massed Potatoes! Very big servings and all delicious! Service was fast and friendly also. We stopped here on a Friday night and we didn't realize it was Fish Fry night and they were packed! There was only 2 in our party so we were seated quickly. We ordered the fried haddock and one of the Signature burgers with fresh cut fries. I was expecting a longer wait for the food but was pleasantly surprised how quickly our meals came out. The burger was cooked perfectly and tasted even better! And the fries were amazing as well. Very much like the ones you get on the boardwalk at the beach. The fish was all-you-can-eat which we didn't realize so the husband gladly accepted a second piece. He was stuffed which is rare for him. My favorite part of our dining experience was seeing how friendly the waitresses were. You know they had to be crazy busy yet they never seemed annoyed or rushed anyone. I also noticed the owner of the place jumped in and helped out with cleaning, refilling cups, moving tables to accommodate various parties, checking in with various customers about their meals, and keeping the place humming. You can tell they cared about their customers AND their employees! This place is only 6-7 minutes from our house but we hardly ever think to stop here. That will be changing! Very good! read more

I stopped in Kountry Kettle today. There is ample parking. There's handicapped parking and a ramp. There are a lot of tables and booths. You seat yourself. There is daily specials. The menu has a good variety. They have all you can eat, a salad bar, Saturday special on steaks. I ordered a Po Boy Oyster sandwich, nothing comes with it. I got curley fries. To drink I got sweet tea. Everything was delicious. The waitress was pleasant and working by herself. I will go again. read more
