I recently ordered take out for elderly relatives while one was recovering from surgery and a difficult hospitalization. This was the first meal she was looking forward to. Unfortunately, the chicken looked very dark, and my relatives said it was burnt and inedible. My guess is was at the bottom of the fryer. I contacted both corporate on the website and then the store itself, as my relatives were very upset. The store manager apologized and offered to replace the chicken, but I couldn't return, as my relatives needed assistance. The manager offered to issue a refund if I read my card number over the phone, which I was uncomfortable with, so she said corporate would issue a refund. Shortly later I received an e-mail that they'd send a gift card, but after the experience, I don't intend to use it. read more

The BLT I was served was disgusting. The lettuce was like seaweed dark green, limp, and wet with occasional brown pieces. How any chef could possibly think that it was in any way eatable is beyond me. The service wasn't much better. The waitress was totally unapologetic but was nice enough to take $2.00 off the bill. Really, $2.00....the meal itself should have been taken off the bill after she saw that I had to rip the sandwich apart to eat any of it. Had she returned to our table to even check to see how our food was, I would have returned it to her at that point, but she was nowhere to be found until we looked to be finished. Food has never been an issue for me here but the service is terrible, my most recent visit is likely my last. Why would I continue spending money at a place where I'm treated like crap and ignored? I arrived to pick up my order and was completely ignored by at least 4 different people. They all looked at me/made eye contact or looked over and saw me waiting, and then completely ignored me and just kept on walking. The young kid/host even walked over to the register right in front of me to answer the phone, twice, ignored me, and walked away and went back to folding boxes and playing with bags. Another customer came in and they were ignored too. Someone finally asked the host kid what was going on with us and then he came over. He ignored me again knowing I've been there and waiting and asked the person behind me if he had been helped. At that point I yelled at him and told him to get me my food. It had been sitting on the shelf and ready for the ten mins I was being ignored and was cold by the time I got home with it. read more

We stop there when we're in Chardon , husband always gets the pancake and often says how good they are . I change my meal up, this time I got the protein bowl with scrambled eggs, it was very good . Our waitress was very nice did a good job . The carpet was vacuum we went later in the day . I just wish they'd take their time washing and drying the tables . read more

Bob Evans is a pretty consistent place to eat! I don't think I've ever had a bad experience, until tonight! I ordered carry out 2 hours in advance, I arrived on time! I was told it would be ready less than 10mins , 30 mins later, I was told there is no cranberry relish, ok no problem, then I was told no rolls , again ok I'll have biscuits just give me the food so I can go home! I was tired of listening to the garbage music playing in the kitchen, about "bitches and hoes"! So I get home, pouring gravy on the potatoes and there is a strawberry jelly packet, that was in the gravy! Then the replacement biscuits were stale! I can tolerate a time issue, I can even tolerate a stale biscuit, but I will not tolerate when you screw around with someone's food! In hindsight, I saw the little punk with the gravy container in his hand whisper something to his little coworker about what he did! Your parents must be proud! You are better off eating at Dollar General, seriously. This restaurant always ceases to impress me. I try to eat here minimally, and when I do it, there is always seems to get worse. From a new set of servers every week, untrained and unteachable teenagers. To never getting a single full order right. If you are into multiple toppings on something such as omelettes, forget about it. The cooks here don't have the brain capacity to even add avocado on something such as a omelette. Servers here will take your order, receive it from the kitchen, see that nothing is right about it, and still have the audacity to hand it to you and ask for a tip. while also not having the audacity to fix the receipt for items never received even notice ordered. Also hope you're into begging because that's the only way to get water around there. On top of that this restaurant does not have normal cups, they have mason jars. The size of the servers brains. Your kid size glass will be gone in five minutes I have been too many restaurants, however, this will go down as my top five worst restaurants ever. read more

I have been to this location about 5 times and every single time it has been wonderful! Fast service, fresh iced tea, and hot delicious food every time! Kids eat free on tuesdays too! Can't beat that! I love the inside! The ceilings are tall and have a farmhouse feel. It's quiet in here usually and I love it! I have always have fast friendly servers! We stopped for a family dinner - the service was a little slow. I believe the server was new, we weren't in a rush so we didn't mind. The pop tasted okay but the water had a funky taste. So I asked for a tea instead. The tea tasted like it's brewed fresh daily! We tried the new prime rib & stuffed biscuit bowl (which is absolutely huge). When ordering the prime rib, you get to pick from pink or no pink. Also two sides and your type of bread. I got pumpkin bread and a double of broccoli. It was good but more of like a lunch meat consistency. The broccoli was my favorite. It was steamed fresh and was tossed in butter. I can't decide if I would order it again or not. The stuffed biscuit bowl comes with all your fixings inside the biscuit itself! Everything from eggs to gravy and cheese. It has been a few years since I have stepped into a Bob Evans. I did not like the changes to portions and service. We wound up here, in Chardon, as the other diner was closed. We dined the day before Thanksgiving and were warned there was a limited menu. The service was great. Our breakfasts were great. They did not have blueberry pancakes on the menu but offered them as part of the fruit cup. They were able to add the blueberries to my son's pancakes which made his day. Glad I tried them again. Even the portions were good for the pancakes and home fries. I will try them again for dinner to see if the improvement continues after the holidays. read more

Yes, the restaurant has only been open a couple of months but basic service is basic service. Customers shouldn't have to ask for water refills or silverware. The food was fine...it's Bob Evans. I think there's a standard Bob Evans seeks and I don't know that I've ever been dissatisfied...at least with the food. We had a bonus tonight as it was Kids' Night and my two children would eat for free. Only there was a problem. When I went to pay the bill the girl at the register first forgot to discount the kids' meals and had to call in reinforcements. Then they noticed only one kids' meal was on the bill. The other was entered as a normal meal...so all in all I saved $3. On top of everything else, I ordered a chocolate sundae to go only to find out I received a caramel sundae. read more

I am not sure why this place has a low star rating! I enjoyed my time spent here with my daughter! Bathroom was neat and clean and speedy fast service! Our server was very understand of my 3 year old when she started dumping the creamer packets and jelly packets all over the table. :0) My daughter got the little piggy hotcakes that were freaking adorable! ( posted a picture) and I got a mini breakfast sampler of 1 egg, hash browns, and bacon.. all of this was came to less than $11.00.. can't beat that! read more

Edit: December 2015 I try and give every place two chances. If after that they still aren't good, that is it and I write them off as terrible. This is an instance where the second time is not the charm and I will never return. When you go to order something off of the menu, and they take your order, only to return fifteen minutes later and explain they don't sell that is irritating. When you order a meal with a group, and the group is receiving parts and pieces of what they ordered (not just like a soup or salad, but while parts of the meal) that is irritating. When you do order soup, and it doesn't have any broth in it (which, by the way, is what makes soup SOUP) then there is a problem, when you order eggs, and you can see the plate through the egg white and yolk, there is a chance for food poisoning. I tried to like this place. I gave it two chances. Enough is enough and this place should be shut down before someone really gets sick. Original review: Even though they just opened, I would hope that the restaurant would get better. However, my last visit from today proved me wrong. We didnt receive any silverware until ten minutes after our food arrived. I always order my meal no onions. I received what seemed like extra onions. Then my waitress changed shift in the middle and our new waitress helped us with nothing . No refills. No checking to make sure everything else was still ok. Needless to say we canceled our dessert order and drove down the street to King Kone. Go to a local diner in the area to ensure a better meal and better experience. read more

I've been going to various Bob Evans restaurant for almost 50 yrs ..After what i encountered this morning i will never go back to this restaurant..I asked to have my eggs remade with fresh eggs instead of premix..Have done it occassionally here over the years...5 minutes later the Mgr. John, came flying out of the kitchen to my booth and proceeded to berate me, and embarrasing me in front of customers, and employees!! I sat there too stunned to reply while be explained we dont do that, and started to explain the procedure..I was so speechless other than to say, i didnt think it was a big deal..I was waiting for an apology that Never came!!! Unreal..To talk down to a customer for a simple request? Really? I did get a call from his supervisor, saying we talked to him...Thats great, wheres my apology???? I used to love their cakes a few years ago but they are doughy now and it can't be the cook because the last couple of times I was there the pancakes were not good. The service is still great and I love their coffee but I am done with their pancakes and I would advise anyone looking for pancakes to go to Denny's. read more

The service at this location has always been bad from day one and they have been open about 2 yrs. Visited the restaurant tonight and we waited 12 minutes before anyone said two words to us after being seated. I had to ask a server to please help us out and she said that she would without apologizing. It's said that BE has to deal with this since the chain is already struggling due a decrease in sales in slow-casual chain restaurants.
