We have not been to Bob Evan's in a long time due to poor service but felt brave and gave it another try. First, there were at least 7 employees behind the counter- not sure how many were servers and only 6 tables with customers. We were seated quickly and then reality hit. We sat and waited and waited and waited. My husband tried to flag a server down but nobody came. The folks behind the counter continued to stand. The guy clearing and cleaning tables was the only one working. Finally a server came and shrugged her shoulders when we asked why we had to wait so long. While our order was finally being taken, 2 more groups were seated and a server IMMEDIATELY attended to them. Makes you wonder. Food came quick, was nicely presented and tasted good. Then came checkout. We had to wait at the counter while the assistant manager and another employee talked LOUDLY about their pets. The conversation continued while we paid our bill. Food was undercooked and terrible, service was terrible didn't bring us silverware for about 6 mins so our food which was already barely warm became cold, brought me my forgotten pancake 10 more mins later and it was literally smoking hot I couldn't eat it's like they microwaved it for 5 mins. Ordered 2 cranberry pecan chicken salads to go. Got all the way home and they put 2 wildfire chicken salads in my bag. I called and they hung up on me. I got in my car and drove all the way back to the Arlington Rd. restaurant and asked for the manager. They gave me 2 new salads. This location is terrible. They always forget stuff and charge what they want. When you call in they answer then hang up right away or leave you on hold for an hour,then when they finally answer they say they aren't taking anymore carryout orders. The manager always tells me they are very busy yet my hubby is in parking lot at the same time and is the only car and doesn't see anyone going in for carryouts. When he goes in,nobody is even in there ,no carryout orders piled up.. The rise and shine burger with 2 sides is 12.99 via ordering and menu for Glenway..when we call it in and pick it up its 14.99.. And they forgot the fried egg,honey maple sauce and cheese! It was dried out and tough. They forgot mac n cheese and fries were cold chewy pasty.. The rolls are never fresh They always forget stuff or make it the way they want. Way over priced when you get tiny portions and they forget sides and important items that go with sandwich es and dinners. The A1 Burger they never put sauce,cheese or onions. Pot roast dip sandwich they always forget aujus,and one chunk of pot roast and only 1 cheese.. We were traveling and we stopped in to get a bite to eat. My parents are from out of town, and Bob Evans doesn't exist where they live . We had a large party and our server Jennifer was the best! We ordered appetizers which arrived before food , We never had to ask for anything. She was sweet, knowledgeable, and very prompt. Our server made this such a Great experience. We went in on a Thursday night and the hostess took our name and said it would be a 10-15 minute wait. I wanted to leave immediately, but was kind of tired and hungry. People started to leave, so I figured any minute now we'd get seated. A group of women came in, the hostess told them it was going to be a wait, and they said they were going to leave, so the hostess seated them immediately. We were pissed, but the manager jumped on the hostess before we could about doing that. We're finally seated, and we wait, and we wait, and we wait. Everyone around us is just waiting as well. A waitress comes by, tells us she's going to the bathroom, and she'll be with us. We looked at each other and started laughing. We never did see that waitress again, so maybe she fell in or something. Another waitress finally came and took our drink and food order and apologized blaming some kind of miscommunication. We waited 10 more minutes without drinks and called it quits and got up and left. We had been there almost an hour by this point and only saw one table's order come out of the kitchen. I've been a fan of this Bob Evans for a long time, as the food is solid and it's close to home. Unfortunately, there has been a recent and abrupt shift in management that is inexplicable. When I've entered the past few times, the restaurant will not be close to being full, yet the staff will let guests stand by the lectern without acknowledgement for up to five minutes. Furthermore, the manager has a uniquely terrible method of dealing with breakfast rushes by not filling more than half the tables and even the staff will vent to guests about how they are unsure of why. Therefore, maybe one out of ten people are seated during the busy hours, as everyone else leaves - not an exaggeration or joke. This is a terrible business practice that I candidly believe is malicious toward corporate. I would give this restaurant a five-star rating if they were to adjust, but if running this franchise out of business is the manager's intention, please continue. read more

My friend and I ate at Bob Evans, in Cincinnati, Ohio on Oct 15, 2023. Store # 342. at 3:49pm. It was not busy at this time with only about 4 customer tables filled. Although the food was good, mine was lukewarm. Being late afternoon, the aisle where we sat was littered with food on the carpet, looking like breakfast food. No one was interested in sweeping it up. The wait staff was too busy in a group talking behind the counter. Our waitress, Maddison was very attentive to us while she walked over the food strewn aisle. We both went to the ladies room and it desperately needed a cleaning. It also looked like a toilet was leaking with a stream of water coming from the bottom of the toilet. This resturant has been going down hill since i moved to the West Side. The topper was Saturday, December 11, 2021. I placed a curbside pick up order online. I put into the space and dialed the number as stated on the sign, the phone kept rolling over and noone would answer. After 15 minutes, I went inside to see what the issue was and to get my food. I spoke with the manager, who should never have been given the job as a manager. When I said I have been waiting for 15 minutes and noone answered the phone, she said well the phones are down, I said you should have put a note on the sign. Bob Evans has a little bit of everything and rarely disappoints. This is my easy go-to restaurant when we need a place for a family group to eat (meaning we have to please a wide variety of people, adults and children). This location can get very crowded on the weekends at lunchtime. Especially on Sundays, because that after-church crowd is huge! And with the recent closure of Golden Corral nearby, I expect the crowds to increase. However, they usually move people through pretty quickly and I've never had to wait longer than 15-20 minutes to sit a group of 6-8 people. They have great twisty straws for the kids that have a larger bendable area. A lot fewer spills with these straws, because they don't have to pick up the cup, just bend the straw down and into the mouth! This location is always slow and pretty inaccurate with their orders but today was the worst. We got there at 930am and it was maybe 3/4 full but they weren't bushing tables so we sat 10 minutes. Layers of dirt and grime caked the light fixtures right above our food. The service itself was an abysmal failure. This restaurant was horrendous. When my husband and I finally got seated our waitress all but threw the silverware on the table and walked off. The menus were soaked in some disgusting wetness and were falling apart. The floors were disgusting, the light fixtures caked in dust, the divider between sections was coated with ketchup and grease. We finally got our drinks then good which turned out to be a joke. My husband's sandwich was coated in grease and my sausage was burnt to a crisp even after it was remade. Had there not been cheese on the hash browns the black, charred potatoes would have been easily visible. We only saw the waitress 3 times and had to physically request refills. Upon trying to hightail it out of this forsaken hellhole, we paid at a disgusting register that had shelves of candy and grime and left without a receipt due to the paper running out and there being no sense of professionalism for them to quickly react and fill it with paper. After my husband and I left, we cannot get the nasty taste of burning and grease out of our mouths and just overall physically feel that we would feel better had we chugged grease.
