Ordered takeout. Gave an hour to complete it. Got there 10 minutes early. They seemed to have lost the order. Walked out with it a half hour later. With two sandwiches and a cup of soup Got it home and the order was wrong. "No mayo no onion" of course had both. The sandwich looked like they thrown it in the container. The food was delightful! Nice and soft French Toast with an omelette exactly as requested. The waitress was very attentive, polite, and deserving of her tip. Both times I have gone, the atmosphere was quite crowded and was a little difficult with such small walking spaces. Absolutely the worst experience at a Bob Evens. I walk in for lunch with my family (4 total) and the waitress at the greeting area does not even say hello. She seats a large party of senior citizens, so I figure she has her hands full. So I wait another 5 mins and this lady comes in with two infants. She hasn't even sat the car seat down and the waitress comes over and ask how many in her party. She states that not everyone is here yet from her party, but the waitress seats her anyways. Now the woman has small kids so I bit my tongue, even though we were there first. But now I'm a little annoyed. So I stand at the station. I wait another few minutes. The waitress comes back to grab a piece of paper off the stand. I say "excuse me", the waitress did not even acknowledge me and walked away. At this point I say F#@k this and walked out. For a decade now I've noticed Bob Evens quality and value has been slipping. But I'm done with the crappy service. I'm done with Bob Evens. Their service has gotten so bad I can't even get a "hello" let alone seated. read more

We went here on Thanksgiving day and were very pleased with our meal and the service. Even though they have a limited menu, it was a perfect Thanksgiving meal. As always, a staple of our family visits to Ohio constitute a visit to some Bob Evans' restaurant along the way. Typically, we wind up visiting one between Detroit and Sandusky, but this time, we didn't get to Bob Evans' until the day we left, at a location just inside Detroit. We were shooting for a fast in-and-out, as you can typically expect your food in about 15 minutes on an average volume day. For us, it took 45 minutes for our food to come out, even though we ordered four standard egg dishes. If you plan on visiting Bob Evans', you may want to find another location if you're in the middle of a long haul. read more

I have never really been a fan of Bob Evans restaurants, and this time just seals that fate.. our experience started well, we were on our way home and needed to get some breakfast before getting on the road for 8 hours. we had a couple of choices however i reluctantly agreed to B.E. and hoped for the best. we sat down and our waitress greeted us and took our drink orders and our food orders. then we waited for the food....and waited.. approx. 20 minutes had past and still no food AND no waitress to check on drinks or give us an update. enter another table. 10 minutes into their seating we were served our food.. "do you need anything else" we needed some sugar free syrup at our table for 2 of the guests, and I needed another coke. food comes up for table behind us...approx 12 minutes after they sit down, much better time than our 25 minute wait. waitress comes back..."how is everything?" we reply with "we still need a coke and sugar free syrup" oh yes i forgot.....rushes off and returns 5 minutes later.. asks if we need separate checks, (second time asking since we sat down) we told her how to split it up and also that we were in a hurry. comes back we leave...oops left the ticket on the table.. when I go back to pick it up I hear our waitress talking about us to her table, I hear the lady at the table go shhh.. I then let our waitress know exactly what we were complaining about.. "I don't make the food" she says, I respond with " no, but its your job to update the customer, and to make continuous trips to that table to make sure their waters, sodas and coffees are filled. all part of being a good waitress, which you are not" which then I followed up with "get a clue my dear, your a horrible waitress,, have an awesome day sweets" and patted her on the shoulder. we went to pay the bill, and I had the hostess bring the manager out, I told her the story and the manager seemed aggravated with what I was telling her ( aggravated with the waitress that is) and covered our bill. normally waiting longer for food or not getting drinks filled would not prompt me to complain, I would just reflect it in my tip. however when the waitress feels it necessary to talk about "that table" it shouldn't be with another table, especially when the customer in question is in ear shot of hearing you.... no this will be my last time going to ANY Bob Evans restaurants, let the old folks have it.... read more

The server was nice and tried to make things right. The food was (as seems to be the norm anymore from what locals say) disgusting, burnt, and flavorless doused with salt. Small portions (good in our case since the food was gross.) The manager glibly responded to our feedback and did not seem to care or acknowledge any issue on their side. I stopped going to Bobs a few years ago because of their limited menu choices but I was on the highway and this was the only breakfast place open that early and right off the highway. Server Angel was very pleasant with a lovely greeting as soon as I got seated. I told her what I wanted because I didn't see it on the menu and she proceeded to give me a couple of choices and substitutable options to ensure I got everything I wanted at an optimal price. She checked on me several times while eating. Furthermore, she ran my card through quickly instead of sending me to the cashier. Food was healthy and they accomodate all of my needs. It appeared that the cook was late and I was very impressed that the manager was cooking my meal! Due to this experience I may have to try other Bobs. read more

Uninspiring mediocre calories. The Saturday morning we ate there, the place was not jumpin', not with all the people waiting for tables, it wasn't. Fortunately, the turnover was such that we didn't have an excessive wait for our table. Unfortunately, the restaurant had packed the tables so tightly that not only did some customers have problems getting to their table, so did the serving staff carrying food. Fortunately, our server didn't have too much problems getting our orders to us. Unfortunately, the food was even blah-er than usual for a restaurant chain, and was in no danger of slipping off the plate -- I could probably have inverted my plate of hash browns and not gotten the table dirty. For a Bob Evans, I was particularly happy with the food. If you're used to upscale, super healthy, "weird" food as my one daughter calls it- you might not be too happy. This review is not about the food because, well, let's face it: if you're going to a Bob Evans, you know what you're getting. Instead, this review is about the service. On a cross-country road trip with my pregnant wife, we never planned on stopping here. As anyone who's traveled it knows, the Ohio Turnpike's service plazas are excellent assuming, of course, you can exit at the service plaza even with poorly planned construction zones. When haphazard construction zones barred us from accessing the service plaza, however, we exited the turnpike and turned into Bob Evans for take out. Upon walking in, my wife was greeted with a smile and courteous help. The hostesses quickly took our order, joked and made small talk with my wife, and even went so far as obliging our request for hot sauce with a completely unexpected but incredibly appreciated gesture. Simply put, customer service at its best. The food came out lightning quick and was carefully packed away in our to go bag. (Note: that second detail may seem extraneous, but as anyone whose take out was sloppily tossed into carry out containers knows, careless take out packaging can 100% ruin a meal.) Before my wife left, the hostesses triple-checked to make sure everything was in order, then wished her well. Granted, the food was what you expect from a Bob Evans: greasy, half-cooked eggs; flavorless potatoes; sausage gravy from a packet; and an unnecessary amount of melted, low-grade sprinkle cheese product. But remember: we knew what to expect foodwise. Service, however, can save a meal - this service was terrific. Even though Bob Evans is never anywhere near our top 100 restaurants to visit, there's a great chance we'll be back to this location when we drive back through. read more

I eaten here several times this year. The food is good and fairly priced. The service is good for the most part. They do have a few really good waitresses but there are a few that once they bring the bill they no longer acknowledge you. Apparently your done being a costumer once that bill arrives. I stopped in on a very cold and snowy evening after work on my way to the hotel to get a salad and chicken and noodle soup to take with me. The salad was good but the soup was not good at all. It had no taste it was a cup of hot water with some noodles and chunks of chicken. I called the store to tell the manager of how bad the soup was and to me she replied we'll have you ever had our chicken and noodles before. My replay was why yes I have and for that I will never be back to your restaurant. I have always had good quality of food at Bob Evans but not only has there food quality gone down at this restaurant but so has there customer skills. read more

Great restaurant for any meal. We eat here once a week and really enjoy the food and service. My wife loves their Turkey dinner. We've tried the a Bob Evans in Sandusky, Ohio, twice, and it sucks. Lousy service, long wait time and not cooked as ordered. Waitress never returned after delivering our meal. Four of them in back talking. Total of three tables with customers when we entered.
